Quidditch Slytherin v Ravenclaw - Fall 2023

Teammates were dropping like files. They were going down fast. Cecily Quinn. Lavinia Cloven. Winnie Harper. Jorah Moussa. Ayla Flores. Five whole people. The team's most experienced and strongest players gone. Charlie did her best to not let this get to her too much because she needed to focus on keeping the Quaffle out of the hoops. And she was doing well. She watched as one shot sailed through the golden hoop and then it came over to her, and she blocked it. Then it went back over to the other side and she watched as it swished through the hoop. They were winning, but loosing players fast.

Koko did better with blocking this time ─ better. Not well. Momentarily, her anger abated, but then their Keeper blocked and she let them score. Koko made a mental note to train extra in the weeks leading up to their next match. Clearly, she needed it.

The rest of the team, though, initially seemed to be faring better than she was. Koko watched, a small smirk playing on her lips, as not one, not two, but three more Ravenclaws fell from the sky. Later, she would be horrified at the absolute glee that had turned her scowl into a grin, but here in the sky, she only knew pride and joy. Her teammates were so capable. Ruthlessness was the key to success on few occasions, but this definitely seemed to be one of them ─ and no one on the Slytherin team was lacking in drive.

Of course, something had to go wrong. Koko's smile faltered when she saw a bludger hurtling towards Dan, but then Cash swooped in front of it. She had fully expected for Cash to evade and swat the bludger out of the way, but it seemed that even the mighty could fall. 'Cash...' she murmured as she watched the fifth-year fall towards the unyielding ground below. Had the bludger really been able to knock them out that quickly?

Koko did not want to get in the way of those bludgers.

Quidditch Pitch

Mentions: Out of the goodness of my heart I won't tag all these people.

𝓣he good news was, their dopplebeater strategy was successful and had ejected one of the Slytherin team members smash-bros-style right out of the game. The bad news was they'd actually been aiming for the other team's seeker, but hey, you win some you lose some. Bex had decided to consider this a roaring success.

There weren't too many of those going around though, unfortunately.

Alright, so, uh, Bex was taking objective stock of their situation right now and it was maybe not the greatest! Three of their players had taken a tumble, including one of their chasers, Lavinia (important), their seeker, Ayla (very important), and their third out of commission chaser of the game, as well as their captain, Cecily (perhaps the most important?!?!). This left them with just one chaser still in the air, which was not necessarily what you were looking for in a successful Quidditch match.

But like, it was fine. A family can be the six remaining members of your Quidditch team.

Bex did her best to shake off the stress of this past round and get her head in the game. They'd need both their beaters to be in top form if they were going to have any chance of staying afloat.

As the game continued some more, it had been proven who was the more superior team out of the two. Though the ding after ding indicated that team Ravenclaw successfully scored another Quaffle, Cash gritted their teeth. If only Cash could blast those annoying sounds.

Although Ravenclaw trailed by 60 points over Slytherin, it did not matter as their players one by one dropped out of the sky like birds with broken wings. This is why Cash falls in love with Quidditch in the first place. Sure, the game could be brutal but the outcome when their team wins the game was what mattered the most.

Still perching in the sky atop their Silver Arrow, Cash follows the movement of Palmer while keeping an eye for that nasty bludger. The green eyes cheered when Erin Ryan managed to knock down more Ravenclaw players out of their broom.

Even Mellani Miller was brave enough to take the risk of blatching Lavinia Cloven knowing she could get caught cheating. Slytherin has a lot of ambition and drive. But most of all they are ruthless. As Cash cheered on both Erin and Mellani's success in knocking out Ravenclaws, their cheer was cut short as they caught the sight of the bludger coming toward Dan.

Like a superhero risking themselves to save their damsel, Cash swooped on. "Not on my watch!"Cash said as they pushed down the handle of their Silver Arrow trying to get ahead of the incoming attack. What Cash did not calculate was the combined force from the Ravenclaw Beaters.

As the bludger hit their chest with a vengeance, the wind was knocked out from them as the opposing player Beaters managed to unseat them from their trusted broomstick. As Cash falls to the unforgiving grassy field of the pitch, they swear they can hear Chen asking about Cash's condition after the brutal hit.

"I'm okay,"They wheezed out under the circumstances as they made an 'OK' sign with their hand. The fifth-year did not know whether Chen could hear their exclamation or not. The only thing Cash remembered were the boos, the cheers, and the remaining players whizzing out above their head before unconsciousness blanketed them.

This was going to be quick game. House Ravenclaw were going down fast. She could not remember the last time Dan found the snitch so fast. All she needed to do was keep him alive long enough to snatch the snitch. She was comparatively more durable than the fellow snake, but there were limits to even her own endurance. She wondered if they had the brawn to take her down.

Probably not without Jorah.

xxIn terms of point totals, Maggie wasn't much of the opinion that Slytherin was doing so hot. Ravenclaw was sinking point after point, and all Maggie had done was cheat and earn herself a stupid penalty lap. She felt her hair whipping against her face, with a cutting pain that sunk deep into her skin when the harsh, cold winds slashed against soft, pale cheeks, quickly being colored with rosy red hues. The only thing she felt good enough to do was hope that Dan could catch himself a snitch before even that couldn't save them.

Dan let out a laugh as all of the Ravenclaw team's attempts at him failed one after another, taking particular interest when Jorah dropped. Sure, he couldn't make any Quaffle grabs, but he wasn't a Chaser. He wasn't expecting to nail 5 goals. It was just something he could do while going after his target.

He'd missed this feeling so much. Just enjoying something because he enjoyed it. His depression had lifted considerably in recent months. Finally, he was on the upswing.

Now, to make his mood even better by winning this game and starting the season off strong!

Doing as strategized

Ebony quickly counted her teammates - they were tumbling off their brooms, one by one. Thankfully they had managed to knock a Slytherin beater, a team effort between her and her fellow beater, Rebecca. Even though they were winning by 60 points, they weren’t doing so well on the aspect of staying on their brooms.

Team Ravenclaw's numbers had dwindled and they were left with no choice but to send their Keeper out to contest for the Quaffle. Charlie did her best and gave a valiant effort against the upperclassmen that Slytherin sent against her, but to no avail. One after the other the Quaffle would end up in Koko's hands and with no one to stop her she would sink 50 points for her team.



Both Seekers would dart around the pitch looking for that evasive little fly they call the Snitch, but Dan had the upper hand. Delainie couldn't lay her eyes on it, but his keen eyes remained locked on the golden orb. With practiced precision the sixth year captain would snatch that little bugger out of the sky! The announcer roared, "Team Slytherin catches the Snitch! This match is over!"



Thought the Snitch was caught that would do little to stop the action. No that was not a crack of lightning that caused a rumble through the air, it was yet another mighty blow from Erin's Beater Bat! The Bludger would sail through the air like a cannonball, its target: Rebecca of Team Ravenclaw. The poor first year wouldn't see it coming and would join the long list of casualties that had plagued the rest of her team. However, Ebony would be no victim today! With quick dip of her broom she would evade Erin's ricochet.
