xxDammit. If Maggie was famous for anything on the field, it was probably penalty laps after failed attempts at cheating. Not that she thought cheating was, like, good or anything, totally not. With a groan, Maggie used her grip on the broom handle to steer her way to the edge of the field, beginning her lap and rolling her eyes hard enough that she was certain the audience in the stands could see it.

Renelle could not claim to have much experience in the game of Quidditch, but even she could tell that so far, the Ravenclaw team was not doing so well. Sure, they’d managed to score a handful of Quaffle points, but two of their players had been knocked out. As she looked nervously watched two of her fellow second-string teammates fly out onto the pitch, she hoped that things would take a turn for the better. Soon.

Ravenclaw was off to a rollercoaster of a start. After seven years of practice and training, Cecily could've scored with her eyes closed. She respected the Slytherin's ambition, but they were no match for the Ravenclaw captain. And yet, so rapt was she upon scoring goals that it wasn't until she sunk four in a row that she turned to survey the state of her team. Jorah and Winnie were already on the ground in possibly record time, Lavinia was... trying to blatch her own teammate? (Cecily couldn't blame her, she'd been there before herself) and Ayla looked more lost than ever.

She took a deep breath. Okay, rocky start to the season, but they'd been through worse and come out the other side. There was still the entire match left to pull this together. Go Eagles and all that.

Smash and crash.

A single strike and took them both down. Her shots normally hurt a bjt they don't decimate an entire team. She looked down at her bat in disbelief. God dayum she had turned into a beast. Her pale eyes would scan the pitch, who was she going to target in this murder next?

Dan congratulated her shot, which brought the part-Veela a rare tinge of pride. She gave him a quick nod and looked down at Jorah's crumbled body. Shame, he was sort of cute for a bird. Oh well. Not like she has any use for pretty things. "Who next?" The team had a number of upper classmen, but there were not too many viable threats past Jorah.

As soon as the whiste blew, Ayla immediately knew she was wayyy out of her depth. By a lot. The cheering crowds were... overwhelming, to say the least. Trying to keep her cool, she scanned the field for the Snitch and, to put it simply, she couldn't see it anywhere. She tried not to get too frustrated - it was her first match, after all, but her confusion showed plain and clear on her face.

Immediately after the whistle blew, Lavinia was targeted. She expected as such due to her increasing age and power on the field, and was ready. Lavinia easily evaded the cob that Maggie attempted to hit her with. A few elbows to the side was an interesting tactical move, but it would stop her regardless.

Next up, Lavinia was using all of her resources for a blatch against Koko, the girl who had written two quidditch articles on her. Lavinia fully believed that Koko knew the power of Lavinia’s blatch and needed to get out now. Even though Lavinia was dead set in getting Koko, when she saw the gorgeous girl, she faltered and lost focus, aiming at a teammate instead. Pulling herself together before the blatch happened, Lavinia pulled out and hoped no one saw. Whipping her head around the field, Lavinia smilied that no one seemed to notice her failed blatch. This broom was working out after all.

The match had officially started and Mari leaned back in her chair with her head resting in her hands, carefully observing everything that was happening on the field.

The game was going well for Slytherin, Mari got up a few times nervous when Slytherin sometimes almost scored, but until then everything was going well, and it would certainly be an interesting and successful game for Mari's team.

Jorah returned Dan's wink by blowing the bare-foot boy a kiss.

Was this an act of seduction or intimidation? Not even Jorah knew. Perhaps there was just too much feminine energy on his team. Always keep 'em guessing.

The part-veela Erin Ryan, the Irish Angel of Death, would lock her S-foils in attack position and begin her attack run on Jorah. She was one of the best beaters at Hogwarts, a Queen! Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the Dawn! Treacherous as the Seas! Stronger than the foundations of the Earth! All shall love her and despair!

For his lack of faith, Jorah was punished. Jorah could not escape Erin's fury as she struck him down with her bludger volley. Jorah attempted to retaliate, to no avail. So be it.

Jorah fell.

Aly joined the fray, swooping in to save Jorah, but she was too late. This would spark debate because convention foretold that a wizard is never late, that they arrive precisely when they mean to. Now since Aly was a witch and not a wizard, was she excused from this temporal law or was Jorah always fated to hit the ground? The world may never know. Jorah crashed into mother earth. The match raged on above as Jorah lied in the turf unconscious and dreaming of Plato making shadow puppets in a cave.
