The golden haired girl tred lightly following the older girl quietly. Slowly noting the rest of their group seemed to be finishing creating their lanterns. Along with Madison speaking announcing the girls entrance.
The smaller of the two girls followed Madi to create a quick lantern. Noting that many of her friends seemed to have something quidditch related or dueling in Rodeny’s case Helena quickly decided to draw a heart not entirely sure what to do writing a small wish to feel loved and welcomed that was her wish to feel loved and welcomed by those who truly cared about her those who she could feel actually feel loved and welcomed a place she could feel herself.
Following behind Madi again quietly and happily. The young girl nodded towards the others of their group. Helena smiled softly towards Landon, slightly happier to be around her shy partner in crime. After all she could tell he seemed to look slightly uncomfortable, not that Helena could blame him.
Listening to everyone talking and chattering about Helena glanced out across the lake. Being on the lake once during her first year entrance left a cold shudder down her spine, but she figured she just shook it off slightly.
Turning her gaze back towards her friends the young girl wondered softly to herself as Alyssea seemed to climb aboard the boat. Helena moved slightly closer to Madi and stared quietly over at Landon smiling softly, waving her hand slightly. Helena took in the solace of listening to the group of friends chatter about.
Listening quietly Helena brushed the edge of her ruffled dress quietly feeling a tad nervous about going out to the center of the lake. Her mind seemed to race a bit if the boat turned over or worse what they ended up having to take a dive. Surely the planners would not have the first year entrance happen all over again would they?
Helena's blue eyes gazed coldly at the boat as if warning it to not do anything stupid of course the girl must have looked foolish for even thinking about threatening an inanimate object after all what was the worst thing that could happen after all.
Helena tried to calm her nerves dusting her dress once again she knew she was safe with her friends after all they were a team? In a way what's the worst that could happen. Holding her lantern with one hand the young girl glanced around them curiously. She felt rather surprised that nothing seemed to happen after all with so many students trouble could strike at any moment.

If she had asked more personal questions of him, she might have gotten her wish to be left alone for awhile. Not that Eun-ji would know or realize this. She most likely thought doing such a thing would have the opposite effect and make him think she was interested in him in some manner. Tone raised a brow at her response to his previous words. "Well, that depends on the person. If it's me, I doubt that would be true most of the time. I'm pretty perceptive!" He said with a grin. "If I realized someone was too annoyed or wasn't having much fun, I'd do something to ensure those feelings changed..." "...until they were having fun!" Tone told her and let his eyes linger on Eun-ji. The girl's fingers suddenly stilled for a moment out of nowhere. But she wasn't looking at him, she was looking off into the distance. Could she be trying not to look at him and was trying to distract herself by her surroundings? Or had she seen something pretty somewhere else? Curious, Tone let his own eyes glance over in the direction Eun-ji was looking at. It wasn't as if there was anything unique or special about the decorations over there.... Nothing they hadn't seen before. But there were a few people in the general direction she was staring at right now, could they be the reason? Tone studied them for a brief moment, a boy he didn't recognize and a girl... wait, was that Sunny? She was with a boy again, how nice! He wondered if it was that Kim she'd been gushing to him about lately. Did Eun-ji know those two too? Before he could ask, she addressed him again, saying she wasn't hungry at the moment, and his thoughts flew out the window. When Eun-ji told him to either eat it himself or give it to another one of his friends, he shook his head. "You can save it for later then!" He told her with a shrug. "I hear they keep really well, so it's no trouble to save it and eat it later on. Even though I do love trying out foods all the time, I can't handle spicy foods. But I figured you'd like something like this, so I made it for you. I also don't really like to specifically make something for someone and then give it to someone else. So if you don't want to eat it, just take it for now. You can do whatever you want with it afterward... Even if it's giving it to someone else... ....or even throwing it away, it's yours." Eun-ji spoke to him again, directing his attention towards the lantern boats and other friends once more. The pink haired teen shook his head a little. "There will be time for that later on. The night's just started! I want to spend my time right now with you!" Tone told her with a smile. |

Delilah and Es found themselves at a picturesque spot by the Great Lake, a location they had carefully chosen for the lantern-making adventure. Rows upon rows of tables decorated with hanging lights surrounded them, casting a warm and enchanting glow in the evening. The reflection of the moon danced on the water's surface, creating a serene ambiance that perfectly complemented the magic of the occasion.
Delilah's heart swelled with excitement and happiness as she gazed around. The tranquil beauty of the lakeside setting, coupled with the prospect of creating something uniquely chaotic and whimsical, filled her with joy. She couldn't help but twirl around for a moment, her laughter echoing through the crisp night air.
"A merpuppy! That's brilliant, Es! A seaweed-furred, green merpuppy sounds adorable," Delilah exclaimed, her voice filled with enthusiasm. "And, you're right, it'll be the perfect companion for my space kitten. They can be intergalactic friends! Oh, this lantern is going to be a masterpiece !"
She picked up a paintbrush, dipped it into a vibrant shade of neon green, and started to clumsily sketch an alien cat on the lantern. Delilah was notorious for her lack of artistic talent, but she approached the task with determination and a lighthearted attitude. As she painted, she accidentally smeared some of the green paint on her own hands and even managed to flick a small droplet onto Es's cheek.
Delilah chuckled, wiping her hands on a nearby cloth, "See, I told you it would get messy! But that's half the fun, isn't it?
She walked in moon Dust, and Stars were sprinkled in her Hair...

Flynn responded with the awkward energy Harmony was coming to associate with him, but this time, she didn’t quite know what to think of it. He wasn’t trying overly hard, as she’d previously thought, so what was it? She was going to get to the bottom of it, she decided. And while she was at it, she’d probably attempt to salvage the weird mess out of the past month.6 October 2023
Fall Ball
“Oh, that’s… nice.” Harmony tried to not sound as awkward as she’d spent the past month being. In actual fact, it was more than nice. Liking animals was a big green flag in people and, yes, also liking sport brought the flag a few centimeters down the mast, but wasn’t Harmony also interested in starting quidditch?
“Um, I like theatre,” she responded after taking a moment to remember what she’d spent the past eleven years of life doing. “And things like Shakespeare and English. Literature! That is- English Literature because we speak English so I kind of have to like it but I meant the subject.”
Wasn’t this going so well? Harmony pretended to stare in deep focus at her lantern to avoid further embarrassment as she painted some brown stick-shape things. They could be either bowtruckles or quidditch brooms –- she’d decide later.
“I think releasing lanterns on the lake would look better and be more on theme, but I might accidentally spend too much time on the lantern,” she mused, now deciding to turn her stick bundles into a nice forest background that took up half the lantern. “What do you plan on doing, Daniel?”
She briefly met his eyes as she looked up, gently waving her lantern to dry the paint to the touch, and looked for green paints. Once spotted, they were grabbed and Harmony set about haphazardly stabbing her brush at the tops of her brown sticks to create a nice cluster of naturally distributed treetops.

Lanterns and Boat Rides
ReducioWas her dear red-headed friend really under the impression that Renelle could not hear a not-so-quiet conversation taking place right behind her?
Just few seconds earlier, the Ravenclaw had all but stormed to the Boat Ride area of the Fall Ball, leaving the other two scrambling to follow, causing mixed feelings inside her mind- she was somewhat pleased that Astra had decided to stick with her after all, but why did Mahlioz have to come too? If it really came to an argument, a small voice inside her mind prodded, whose side would she take?
Shut up, she told it. Renelle tried to continue on her way without any further troubling thoughts, but for some reason, the little people in her head were intent on dragging the matter up. She supposed that despite her… All right, downright nasty behaviour the entire evening, the thought that she might actually have to face a confrontation with the object of her asperity had never come to mind.
The last thing Renelle wanted on what was meant to be a magical evening was for there to be uncomfortable conflicts and clashes, which would most likely leave a permanent stain on the memory of their first ever fall ball here at Hogwarts… But that was exactly what she had been pushing toward with her behaviour, she realized.
No, Renelle wasn’t going to be the reason for her best friend’s horrible ball experience. Setting her heart, she vowed that she was going to forget about her resentment toward the older girl, how mad she was for being pushed to the third wheel… Just all of it. Astra was going to have the night of her life. She would make sure of that. Anything else could wait until the next day.
At least, that was her plan before a few simple sentences had bought it all crashing down.
True, it was quite a scene here at the Great Lake, with more and more students milling in, chattering loudly, random commotions now and then… But that did not mean the Ravenclaw could not hear words spoken barely two feet behind her. As the words spilled out of Astra’s mouth, Renelle could feel time seemingly slowing down. Her mind spun. What? ‘It’s all her?’ ‘Mahl, you’re a great person?’ Coudl those words really have been spoken by her best friend?
Renelle felt herself slow, almost subconsciously, until she was far behind the two Slytherins. She’d thought Astra would always be by her side, no matter what. They’d known each other since they were four! She was her first real friend, her only real friend. She would do anything for her, and had thought she felt the same. But if Astra couldn’t even stick by her in something as small as a Fall Ball…
Was she being overly dramatic? Maybe Astra was true, maybe it was all her. Was Renelle the bad guy here? She suddenly felt dizzy, couldn’t think. The crisp autumn air felt so suffocating. The noises around her seemed to magnify by a thousand times, and she felt trapped by the two figures in front of her.Was she? Was she? Was she?
Slowly but surely, Renelle started backing away. She had to get away from her best friend, and the girl who she had not known existed until an hour ago, but had already made such a deep impact. No, the first year needed space to herself, so she could mull over the events of the evening clearly. Her gaze swept to the lake, where boats sat, all but ready to sail. Perfect.
Keeping as quiet as possible, she tiptoed away from the bustling activity, to a more secluded area, nearer to the side. From there, she approached the Great Lake, and picked out a boat all but camouflaged in shadows. Getting in, Renelle took a deep breath. She would just hide here for the rest of the evening, a quiet- well, reasonably quiet, anyway- place to think, by herself. Everyone would be happier this way. Hopefully her companions hadn’t seen her go.Interacting with @Astra Norrick | @Mahlioz Evethisawe

Pulling and tugging the young girl behind him, Piérre grinned widely as he felt excitement continually bubbling underneath the surface. The closer and closer they got to the boats, the more of a nervous excitement kept fighting within the kid as he realized that he was drawing closer and closer to where a good many memories also laid deep and thick. He had almost drowned here, once, frozen beneath the icy surface as he had saved the life of a girl that had wandered too far out when the ice was too thin. Back when he had used to be quite selfless, back when he had played with his own life like it was nothing but a curious little toy that would one day break when played with too harshly. It was only a matter of when the toy would break, and not if he would be able to prevent it from breaking, but Piérre had never minded when it came to something like that. He was young, after all... young and with an air of whimsy that beckoned to such wild and dangerous pleasures; he didn't think before he leapt, and often times the consequences easily blindsided him...
"Come on, come on, come on! We don't want to miss them, come onnnn!" He crowed as he tugged once more, his heart racing as his limbs ached ever so slightly. In a few moments the boats were sure to shove off for sure, and he wanted to make dang sure that he was on one of them just so that he could be on the lake while it was 'allowed' for the students to be there. "Just a little farther, hold on to your date!" He was speaking more in reference to the girl's cat, of course, and not himself.
A few more steps, and while he was trying to pull as politely as he could, the boy couldn't hold on to her for much longer. The pull was in his chest, drawing him forwards and faster than he wanted to try and push. Letting go of her hand, he threw his arms out until they were at their full extensions and caused the feather cape to spread. Feeling his pulse race even faster, the boy saw in his mind's eye the image of his other form and then immediately felt the changes that came with a purposeful transformation as opposed to the less-controlled emotional pseudo-shifting that came with trying to purposefully hide the nature and maintaining the human form. Now it would be clear to the girl as Piérre swung his arms and then threw them down with a sudden bound, in the span of a blink of an eye his body rapidly shrank as the feathers melted into his skin and then proliferated in hues of black, white, green and blue; two elongated spatules with rounded feathers twirled in the air around a rapidly shrinking body until Piérre was no larger than a small mote of feathers... or perhaps he wasn't really Piérre anymore. Rather, he had become a tiny and glittering creature whose feathers caught all the light that struck it. A high-energy hummingbird that let out a sweet and upslurred call: "Tswee! Tsss, tsss, tsweee!"
With a sudden flitter, the bird flew quickly around the girl before darting ahead like a feathery bullet and drawing closer and closer to the lake's edge. In a similar heartbeat, the hummingbird began to grow as feathers withdrew back into skin and feathered cloak. In moments, the boy was now human once more with bronzy feathers on his cheeks now splitting themselves back into darker human hair as he turned and smiled at the girl. The animagus let out one sharp laugh and then continued running with the cloak flying behind him. Beneath the cloak he was now bare-chested, his ruffled white shirt having been lost to the grass where he had first transformed.
"Hey don't push off just yet! There's two more that want on!" He cried out with an Italian tinge to the ends of his words. Passing under a weeping tree, he stooped for a longer-looking thick branch. When he passed by the lantern's crafting table one hand swiped two lanterns and their fuel sources, as well as a writing utensil which he quickly held in his teeth. Arms full of the craft, Piérre sussed out the best boat for the job. Humming to himself ever so slightly in a musing nature, he glanced back one more time to make sure the young student was still following him as he removed the writing utensil from his mouth. "C'mon! It'll be so much fun!" Another bright and giddy smile. "If you were a hare, the tortoise would have lapped you by now!"
He planted a foot, which was also now bare... his shoes were with his shirt... on the boat, pushing it ever so slightly away from shore. "The SS Hyummer is about to sail! Don't miss her, because she's so fast that by the time you notice she's out of port she's already at her destination!" Emerald eyes continued to gleam with mischief, though he would offer a 'gentlemanly' hand to help the girl on board if she decided to take him up on the gondoliering offer.

Lanterns and Boat Rides
As Valentin stared across the lake’s shimmering surface, time passed, and with it, the glow on the boy’s face darkened with increasing concern. Had something happened to Alexander on his way here? The night was still young, but Valentin had never been to a Hogwarts event without some life-threatening disaster or another breaking out. Had Valentin been too slow already, standing by idly when his love needed him? Wracking his brain for an answer as to if he was being ridiculous or if indeed there was something wrong, Valentin bit his lip. People don’t go as fast as you. Slow down. Be patient, he tried to tell himself. Still, a furrow creased his brow sharper with every passing minute. Maybe I should go scouting. Reconnaissance is my job as a seeker. I should have escorted him; that would have been safer. It’s always dangerous to come to one of these balls. No, no… just… calm down… hush, Valik. Hush… Be quiet and enjoy the wind in the trees.
It was not the rustle of leaves that grabbed Valentin’s attention, however. Rather, it was the sound of footsteps he recognized – a Horntail – Maila – yes, this is good, let’s talk with her... Turning to look at his Durmstrang friend and team mate, Valentin smiled back.
“Yes, it is beautiful tonight. You look lovely, as well. I’m sorry to not have accompanied you this time. I’m waiting for… my date.” Batting his shy eyelashes away, a hint of pink swished across his moonlit cheeks. “It is so nice to see you.” Valentin’s violet eyes glimmered back towards the girl with a vibrant, if fragile, grin. It would have been a bit lonely for him indeed had she not greeted him, and he immediately felt the warmth of gratitude bubbling up inside him. His tone communicated that he truly meant his words, too. The warmth of Maila’s laugh indeed was contagious, and he remembered this to be one of so many reasons he’d welcomed her into the Horntail Horde Hexiwizard team.
“It seems I still have some time, and besides, there’s someone I’d like you to meet when he arrives.” Placing a gentle arm around Maila’s shoulder if she would permit, Val offered her a sweet side hug as he continued to gaze across the dark waters of the lake. “How are you feeling this evening? Anything of interest happening? Has anyone somehow set the entire place on fire yet without my noticing?”

Landon listened as Alyssea explained the color changing spell. It was a spell that Landon hadn't had much use for, so he didn't really know it all that well. It was pretty cool though, to see it work. He smiled widely as Alyssea suggested they release their lanterns on a boat. "That would be really cool," he said. It would look really nice, seeing the lanterns reflected on the lake.
Landon smiled as Madison said that Helena and herself had gotten caught up in talking and had missed following them to the lantern area. "I-I'm glad," he said shyly. He wanted Helena to make more friends. She was even more shy than he was, though Landon was pretty shy himself. He tried not to be too nosy with what the girls were painting on the lanterns, but he couldn't help looking. He saw that Madison had painted a Quidditch pitch and he smiled when she asked him about wanting to be on the team. "Yes, I-I want to try anyway... I.. I don't know if I'll be any good," he said sheepishly. He was nervous about the whole thing, but he smiled a bit more, his smile crooked and a little shy, when she offered to help him with Quidditch. "That... That would be amazing..." he said genuinely. He then looked over at Helena's lantern, noticing that she had drawn a heart and wrote a small message. He hoped that she would find what she was looking for.
Landon stood, carrying his lantern carefully so he wouldn't drop it once he lit it and Rodney's lantern. He climbed into the boat with the rest of them, waiting to be one of the last so he could make sure that everyone got in safely. He wobbled a little as he first stepped into the boat, but not enough to make the boat tip or anything. He was very careful not to do that. He wouldn't want to end their night soaking wet in the lake.
Landon sat down in the boat next to Helena, wanting to spend some time with his quiet friend. She was never one to make him feel pressured to talk. He smiled at her and nudged her with his shoulder gently by way of greeting her. He held out his wand toward her. "Want me to light your lantern too, or do you plan on lighting it yourself?" he asked. He was more than willing to do it if she wanted.

Seeing them converse so naturally was both alien and intriguing. As someone who couldn't speak fluent English, it was an opportunity to observe and pick up the manners. As someone who couldn't speak fluent English, it made him feel excluded. Whatever 'boh-oo-truck-ehl' and 'lit-chra-churr' were, he could tell none of them had any common interests. Except maybe Flynn who mentioned Quidditch. That, Daniel could understand. He gave an impressed hum. "Quidditch! Like also. I play for Castelobruxo." He was still learning the ropes of the game, but he was sure he could pick it up quickly.
Now that he'd been addressed by the pretty girl again, he shrugged nonchalantly. "Nothing. I will watch from here." He waved them off. "You guys go to boats. Have fun."
Daniel got up from the ground and brushed the dirt off his pants. Three girls entered the area, all quite stunning in their dresses, but Daniel felt no push to greet them as he did with Harmony. They just didn't have that... 'wow' factor to them, you know?
"See you." He smiled and then winked at Harmony before turning to wander the area again.

“Woah! That’s so cool!” Harmony exclaimed when Daniel explained his participation in his school’s quidditch team. Yes, she still greatly disliked physical activity, but she was warming up to quidditch quite a bit this evening.6 October 2023
Fall Ball
Then, as Daniel excused himself, Harmony looked up from her leaf painting(stabbing) to half-whine “Oh, what?” He was his own person, however, and Harmony didn’t think it would be fun for him to sit as an odd-one-out who barely spoke the language, so she didn’t further protest as he stood up. “You, too. It was nice meeting you,” she said instead.
Now that it was just her and Flynn, it would be less awkward to try to address the misnamed erumpent in the room, she reasoned.
“See you.” Daniel winked before turning and returning to his previous wandering. Harmony couldn’t see her face, but it was likely back to its very flattering shade of pink that went very well with her cool-tone outfit under warm-tone lights. She immediately set about stabbing her green paintbrush at her lantern until the bristles began to flatten. She was going to miss him.
Fortunately for her, there wasn’t much opportunity to pine after the interesting foreigner from Brazil as Flynn was right there and there were difficult topics to be discussed.
“Uhm, so,” she tried, taking pity on the mangled paintbrush and switching to painting a lanky brown body. How did one go about discussing this sort of thing? “Your name’s Flynn.” Spectacular. O-grade tact.
“I kinda… I didn’t know? That was your name?” How embarrassing. “And it’s been a month.” She looked up from her half-formed bowtruckle and forced herself to look Flynn in the face. “Did you know my name?”
