Others: BoldThe young girl climbed out of bed, her eyes closed and her head tilting slightly to the side. She seemed to straighten up a little, mumbling incoherent words before walking across her dorm room, past the bed of her still-soundly sleeping roommate, and opening the door. Her eyes remained closed, a thick strand of wavy hair covering one half of her face.
Her socked feet shuffled on the floor of the Slytherin common room, her steps seeming to slow and become more cautious. Eventually, she picked her way to the door and opened it, not reacting to the faint squeak of hinges.
She entered the dark, dank basement. An involuntary shiver ran all down her back, causing her to stumble. The sleeves of her black hoodie flopped over her small hands as she reached out, touching the wall.
Past the kitchens and up the stairs, her feet marched. She did not trip, and her head remained on a swivel, though she couldn't see. The girl tentatively stepped onto the moving stairs, holding onto the banister tightly as they made their shift. "Ugh, stupid storm," she muttered aloud.
Miraculously, the still sleeping girl was never once in danger of falling. She exited the stairs, spit out onto the second floor. She began to walk the corridors, humming a soft melody that sounded something like a sea shanty. She reached out at moments, seeming to grab hold of things that weren't there. Her fingertips brushed against a suit of armor and she shied away only to bump into another piece. An observer would note her increasingly alarmed state as the sleeping girl went from one suit to the other, her sense of space lost behind her closed eyes.

"The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it" - JM BarrieDate: 3rd September
Time: 1:00am ❅ Estelle lay in bed. She'd been trying to get to sleep for over an hour now, and she was on the verge of giving up.
It wasn't that she couldn't sleep, but lying in bed brought up the first night of summer. She still had dreams that the tarantula was on her, paralysing her with fear. The loss of that one friendship had affected her so much and for so long. It still affected her.
Estelle sighed and got up, being as quiet as she could so as not to wake her dormmates. The crisp September air was blowing in from the edge of the window and Es breathed it in, hoping it would calm her. It helped a little, but not enough. She needed more of it.
Estelle put her cloak on and left the dormitory, climbing through the portrait. She aimed to go to the courtyard so as to get some air.
She walked briskly, hoping there were no prefects or teachers wandering the halls. She doubted there would be. It was too late, even for them. Too late or too early? Estelle checked her watch. It was nearing 1am.
Estelle heard footsteps and moved into the nearest doorway, hoping to be hidden from whoever it was.
A girl walked past, bumping into some of the armour as she went. Here eyes were shut and she appeared to be asleep.
From what Estelle knew, it was bad to wake a sleepwalker, so instead she attempted to steer the sleeping girl away from the armour and waited for her to hopefully wake up.

Others: BoldThe girl suddenly stuck her hands out, grinding her heels into the stone floor beneath her as someone began to touch her lightly. She said something, something sounding similar to "Stop! Let go!" but one could not be sure. She swayed before dropping to one knee. One could only wonder what was going on in her head.
Astra opened her eyes and gasped. Cold seeped into her bones from the- Hold on. Hold on, hold on, this is not my bed. Where the heck am I? She scrambled upright, tripping a little over her own feet in such hurry. Astra looked around and noticed a blonde girl watching her. Astra jumped and held out her arm with a noise of surprise, bumping the armor again. And what was I planning to do with that?
Oh right... pirates. Yes, her dream had been on a pirate ship in the middle of a duel. Pirates had swords, and that was what her sleep-addled mind was expecting to be gripped in her hand as she pointed at the girl.
"I'm sorry. Did I wake you?" she whispered in a hoarse voice. Why am I not in the dorm? This girl isn't a Slytherin. Astra retracted her arm with a small blush, her face that of someone very confused. "What time is it?" Surely it can't be later than eleven, I only just fell asleep. As she glanced around, and recognized that she was in the corridors. Wait. None of this made sense. And Astra was in no state to deduce what exactly had happened.

"The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it" - JM BarrieDate: 3rd September
Time: 1:00am ❅ The moment Estelle's fingers touched the girl, the girl freaked out, telling Estelle to let go. Es took a step back and the girl dropped to one knee.
Is she alright? Do I need to get some help? Estelle knew very little about sleepwalking and worried this girl could be in trouble. She debated helping her up, but decided not to - the girl had just told her to let go, after all.
Just as Es was about to go and get help, the girl woke up. She bolted upright, clearly panicking. She seemed unaware of what had just happened.
The girl looked around again, as if attempting to understand how she had gotten there, than turned to Estelle.
"I'm sorry. Did I wake you? What time is it?"
Estelle smiled reassuringly, hoping to calm the girl. She was still distressed - well, who wouldn't be after waking up somewhere completely unexpectedly.
"You were sleepwalking. I was already awake and on my way outside for some fresh air when you walked into the corridor, bumping into the armour. I tried to steer you away from it but you panicked and woke up. It's 3am - you must have gotten up and walked out of your dormitory. What house are you in? I can help you find your way back. I'm Estelle, by the way."

Others: BoldAstra blinked. Sleepwalking? Walking in my sleep? She did remember Renelle mentioning that sometimes Astra would move around a lot and sometimes walk a bit during their sleepovers, but Astra remembered those instances (albeit vaguely, and under the impression that it was a dream).
She was relieved to hear that she hadn't woken the blonde girl. "Thank you," she said. She was thankful she'd woken up before she fell of some stairs or something. How did I make it past the moving stairs?
"Three(3) a.m.?" she muttered with an incredulous look. So sleep really is a time machine, she thought with a stab of amusement. Was I walking that entire time?
The girl introduced herself as Estelle and offered to accompany Astra. "Pleasure to meet you, Estelle. Oh, I'm Astra. In Slytherin. Thank you, again," she said. So they had to go all the way down to the dungeons. Astra was still befuddled as to how she made it up here as she followed wherever Estelle led, not really knowing the castle in the dark quite yet. Thank goodness it wasn't a prefect. Who knows if one of them would give her detention for this?
"I'll have to go to Nurse Featherstone about this in the morning," she mumbled, rubbing her eyes. She peered at Estelle, deciphering that the girl was not a first year, Astra didn't recognize her from the Sorting, and probably not a Slytherin. Maybe she knows something about a potion to cure sleepwalking. "Do you by any chance know what they use to cure this type of thing?"

Estelle smiled as the girl introduced herself. She must have been very disoriented - who wouldn't be after waking up somewhere completely random without any memory of how you got there. She hoped that Astra wouldn't have to go through this again, but doubted it. Sleepwalking didn't seem like a one time thing.
Estelle sighed as Astra asked her if she knew how to cure sleepwalking. Es wished she did but knew she didn't have enough expertise to even speculate. Es thought it might have something to do with stress, but Estelle didn't know if Astra was stressed when she went to sleep and didn't really want to ask.
"I'm really sorry, I know next to nothing about sleepwalking otherwise I'd tell you how to cure it. I agree, you should definitely speak to Nurse Featherstone in the morning. They should know how to help. I'm sorry I couldn't help more."
Estelle was certain that the nurse would know how to help Astra. After all, she had healed Es' leg in minutes, a feat that still amazed Es to this day. Magical medicine was truly a sight to behold.
"I'm afraid I don't know exactly where the Slytherin dorms are, but I know they are somewhere near the dungeons. Do you want me to show you the way?"
OOC Note: I give you permission to RP Es showing you the way or just walking with you to the dorms

Others: BoldAstra shrugged when Estelle apologized and nodded when she affirmed that yes, Nurse Featherstone was definitely someone Astra needed to talk to. "I don't think it's a very common condition. Heck, I didn't even know I had it till now. Maybe it's because I'm in a new place? I think that's one of the causes..." she speculated.
She nodded with enthusiasm as Estelle offered to show her the way. "Yeah, that'd be brilliant, thank you," she said. The blonde girl set off and Astra fell into step beside her.
As they made their way down the corridor, Astra noticed that there was a portion of Estelle's hair that was light pink, and another portion that was a subtle blue. "I like your hair," she piped, not really looking where she was going. Her eyes widened in surprise when she suddenly found that she was moving. The girl looked down, her arms flying out. Oh, wait, we're on the stairs. I forgot those are a thing. Astra quickly snatched her arm back in as it nearly hit Estelle. "Sorry." The portraits all seemed to be asleep, except for the cat in one of them, grumpily staring out from underneath a sleeping child. It rumbled at the passerbys as if to say Get this thing off me.
The girls reached the ground floor. "Those are the stairs to the dungeon, right?" Astra asked, pointing to a set of stairs.

"The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it" - JM BarrieDate: 3rd September
Time: 1:00am ❅ Estelle showed Astra the way or, at least, as much of the way as she knew. The older girl hadn't been to the Slytherin dorms and had only been to Potions in the dungeon so she didn't know it well.
Estelle blushed and grinned as Astra complimented her hair. She had dyed it at the end of the summer, adding a splash of colour to her bob. She was very grateful to her friend Akina for cutting her hair, but was to tired to do more than push down the memories of why she cut it. She didn't want to think about them right now, especially as she had just made a new friend.
As they continued, Estelle and Astra stepped on a moving staircase. Es giggled as Astra's arms flew out. It seemed like only yesterday that Estelle had been caught by surprise at the moving of a staircase. Now the movement was second nature to her.
Finally, they reached the set of stairs leading to the dungeon. Estelle kind of wished she and Astra could walk around the castle forever, making new memories and forming a stronger friendship, but she knew it was time for them to go to bed.
"Those are the stairs that lead to the dungeons - you'll be able to find your way to the Slytherin Dorms, right?"

Others: Bold"I think so. Thank you so much, Estelle," Astra said with a smile to the older girl. She liked the blonde, and an idea came to her mind. "Um, hey, if you don't mind, maybe we could try to have lunch together tomorrow, or something?" She fidgeted a little, rubbing her hands together and pulling at the sleeve of her hoodie. "If you want to, of course. I'd just like to talk more and maybe become friends, you seem like a really cool person."
The first year had a lot to learn about interacting with people, but she knew that authenticity was a key part of it. In later years, she would learn to become less blunt and slip things in subtly. She would learn that not all people are as nice when you get older, and would learn that sometimes she would prefer her own company to that of another soul. But she had yet to experience the dark side of life, and was blissfully ignorant and blatantly inquisitive of the persons around her, eager to learn who could be friend and who could be foe, and taking life as it came.
Astra looked at Estelle with a hint of anticipation in her gaze. She could see the older girl was tired, but there seemed to be something on her mind as well. Probably sleep. The eleven-year-old yawned softly thinking about the bed that awaited her just down those stairs, but she wanted to stay to hear Estelle's response. To think that sleepwalking could be the beginning of a friendship! The idea was amusing but strangely poetic. If Astra ever became an author or poet, she would definitely write about that.

"The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease forever to be able to do it" - JM BarrieDate: 3rd September
Time: 1:00am ❅ Estelle smiled, ready to say goodbye to Astra. She wished that they could meet again, become better friends. Astra truly seemed like an amazing person and Es really wanted to get to know her. She thought for a moment. Maybe they could meet up at lunchtimes or something like that. Es usually sat at her house table out of habit, but they could meet outside, where the tables and houses didn't matter.
Except, she was going to! Astra turned around to ask the very thing Es had been wondering. Es broke into a huge grin, ecstatic. She was so pleased that Astra wanted to get to know her better too.
"I was literally about to ask the same thing! I usually sit at my house table, but we could eat lunch in the courtyard together instead."
Es was very happy that Astra wanted to get to know her too. After the summer she'd had, a new friend was just what she needed. Astra seemed like she'd stick by Es no matter what.
The way they had met was unexpected, to say the least, but she was glad that fate had brought them together, creating an opportunity for a new friendship to blossom.
