An Early Halloween Preparation Open

Axyen was glad that Astra seemed to actually listen to Axyen's advice, but hopefully it'll actually help Astra one day overcome any obstacles. Axyen wondered what future challenges would occur for him as he continues to try and become the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. Axyen decided he would think on it at a later date, but for now, what mattered was that Axyen helped somebody, Axyen was pretty sure if Jacob, Axyen's older brother, saw this, he would simply tease Axyen endlessly for it. Axyen continued to think. Why is Jacob so mean to me? What did I do to him? Axyen was about to drift into thought again before he once again snapped out of it. Axyen could see(out of the corner of his eye) that the Slytherin was placing a textbook somewhere, Axyen didn't fully look, so he didn't know what textbook, and he could only assume that it went inside some type of bag, Axyen decided to not be nosy, as it really wasn't his business, he didn't want to potentially look rude.

Axyen smiled at the enthusiastic response when he asked to be friends with Astra, however Astra quickly replaced the enthusiastic response with a more calm response. Axyen honestly didn't mind the enthusiastic response, but felt that bringing it up would be pretty awkward, especially at this moment when they have just met. Axyen had just finished the outline for the cards, and then he turned the page and made the outline for the map, it was a graveyard, then something that resembled the Forbidden Forest, there was a pumpkin patch, then an island that look similar to Azkaban and there was three schools that appeared to try and replicated a couple of classes seven times. Axyen then turned to another page and drew Dementors, a spirit with a staff with a magic orb on the tip as well as wings. There were Werewolves, Acromantulas, and Trolls, there were pumpkin-monsters as well as broken down stone guards. Axyen once again turned the page, making a few words.

Hogwarts Adventure: Halloween Edition

Rules

1. You need at least two(2) players to start.
2. Each player starts out with Stupefy, the stunning spell.
3. Depending on what you roll, you will have to move your character to that select path,.
4. There will be moderators for each official match, so do not attempt to cheat or sabotage the other players.
5. Keep track of what spells your characters learn, this applies for your gold.
6. Special abilities may only be used one time.
7. There is no time limit, the game ends as soon as one of the players defeats the Spirit of Halloween.
8. If no players win, the match is over and you will need to wait for another match to begin.
9. Two Galleons for the winner of the match.

Axyen finished writing these rules and locations and decided to show them to Astra. What do you think? Any rules I should add?" Axyen asked excitedly. "Oh, and if you want," Axyen said, pausing once again, for what reason? Even Axyen himself didn't know. "You can color these if you would like!" Axyen happily offered. Astra asked Axyen if they could draw together. "Sure thing!" Axyen said, he turned a bunch of pages and then began to draw himself, it reminded him of that one time where he learned and cast Petrificus Totalus early. It was a great time, so Axyen decided to redraw that moment, the training dummy parts getting stuck together moments before it fell to the ground where Axyen had his wand pointed at it, a smile on his face. Axyen watched as Astra ran out the room, Axyen assumed she went to get her sketchbook.

Astra was breathing a little heavily as she rushed back into the Study Room. It was surprisingly fun, being around Axyen. He was a nice person, and though they had only met recently that day, they already considered each other friends.

Astra had never experienced anything like it, except Renelle. And they were best friends. What if Axyen becomes a close friend, too? she thought as she sat down beside him again. That'd be crazy cool.

She looked over the rules of the game. "I think those are good," Astra confirmed with a nod. "Sounds like a lot of fun as it is. Plus galleons!" Astra noticed that she was more energetic around Axyen than she was with other people. Maybe he's one of those people with contagious energy? Another thought came into her mind as he offered for her to color a pumpkin monster. Or maybe it's because he has a safe feeling. Like I won't be judged.

Having not met many Hufflepuffs, Astra didn't know if it was just a house thing. Maybe they just radiated niceness. But something about Axyen made her feel welcome and accepted.

She began to color the pumpkin in various shades of orange, trying her best to recall her art classes in primary school. "How's this, Axyen?" she asked, tapping the drawing with the end of her colored pencil.

Her eyes were drawn to the epic sketch he was making, of a boy with his wand out, seeming to cast a spell on a dummy. The dummy lay in various parts around the boy, who looked rather like Axyen. "That looks amazing. Is it based off a true story or? Astra didn't want to pry, but she was (as always) curious. Her eyes held anticipation as she looked up at the older boy, desperately hoping he would tell her about it.

Axyen watched as Astra came back, running into the room, slightly out of breath and holding a sketchbook in her hand. Axyen was in a bit of a deep thought about how he would get people to play Hogwarts Adventure to pass the time a little bit. Astra read the rules, Astra then confirmed that she thought the rules were good, Axyen thought of just about everything to make sure the rules were great, so he was glad to hear positive feedback. Axyen was glad to hear that his award(2 Galleons) also seemed appealing, or at least that's what he thought based on Astra's reaction.

Astra began coloring the pumpkin monster, using various shades of orange, Axyen personally thought it looked really cool, yet spooky at the same time. Axyen imagined Astra has been coloring pictures for years, it looked pretty neat to Axyen. Astra then looked over to Axyen's drawing and asked if it was based on anything. "Oh this?" Axyen asked, confirming what she was looking at. "This was the time I learned Petrificus Totalus." Axyen said. "I love Defense Against the Dark Arts with a passion, you see." Axyen said, pausing to think for a second. "So I don't know if it's against the rules, but one day I wanted to learn a new spell, ahead of everybody else." Axyen said in a slightly lower tone, almost as if he wanted to be extra safe just in case it is against the rules, even though nobody else was in the room. "So, I went to my favorite place, the Library to pick out a spell." Axyen said, still being a bit lower-toned than usual, though not a whisper and in hearing-range for Astra. "So I went ahead and started to practice the spell on training dummies with little to no success at first." Axyen said, pausing to revisit that moment of disappointment. "I continued to keep trying, not wanting to give up until I did something to that training dummy." Axyen said, emphasizing on the word 'something'. "So I was trying again, I can't really remember what I was expecting, but suddenly the spell worked against the Dummy, it was a really happy moment." Axyen said, smiling slightly. "So that was the time I learned Petrificus Totalus, arguably one of my more prouder moments." Axyen said. "Do you have any cool moments you would like to share?" Axyen asked, happily waiting for a response.

Astra listened intently as Axyen described the history behind his drawing. Her eyes widened as he described his passion for Defense Against the Dark Arts. Like me with Charms! she thought excitedly. His voice was low, quiet, as if he was sharing a very big secret. Astra leaned in close. It seemed that being around Axyen was like being around Roderick when the two were younger and he wasn't so haughty and stuck-up. Sure, he had nice moments, like earlier that week whenever he actually gave her the letter, but most of the time he was rude to her and Renelle. She missed the days where all three of them got along in relative peace, when he wouldn't stick his giant nose into all of her business.

As Axyen finished the story, Astra leaned back and said, "That's amazing. Definitely something to be proud of." The small smile that graced his face was proof enough of the love he had for DADA, and the joy he had in his success. "The coolest thing that's ever happened to me was when my family and my best friend Renelle visited my aunt in Slovakia, at the Slovakian Dragon Preserve. My aunt is a dragonologist. We got to see a baby Swedish Short-Snout dragon hatch." She smiled widely at the memory. It was only two years ago that it had happened. Aunt Seren sometimes sent pictures of the little guy, not so little anymore, and it always gave Astra the same sense of awe.

She started coloring the second pumpkin, giving it some more shadows than the first one. "Speaking of dragons, how'd you get your last name? Does your family work with dragons or something?

Axyen wasn't really expecting much of an impressed reaction from Astra, as he didn't consider the story interesting to other people(he would've personally found his own story interesting if someone else told him), it helped Axyen determine that Astra was a great listener, and Axyen shyly smiled as Astra said that learning Petrificus Totalus was something to be proud of. Axyen started listening very carefully during Astra's story. Wait, she got to see a DRAGON?! Axyen thought, his mouth dropping slightly for a second, after Astra finished, Axyen was shocked. "Wait, if I can recall correctly, those are the dragons that breathe blue fire? Wait, did it breathe any fire?" Axyen asked, he wasn't even fully sure if a baby dragon of any kind could breathe fire.

Axyen watched as Astra began to color some more, before asking Axyen how he got his last name and if his family works with dragons or something similar. "Not my family, my grandma used to work with dragons, although apparently it goes farther back than that." Axyen said. "Hold on a second, I need to get a second journal. Axyen ran out of the Study Room, went down one layer of stairs before reaching the Hufflepuff Common Room. Axyen cannot recall opening it so quickly before rushing as quickly as he could to his dormitory. He nearly got distracted, as although he spends every night there, it was still a pretty cool dormitory, and Axyen wanted to see if he could get some thing real quick, but decided against it and went up the second part of the dormitory and grabbing a second journal and was about to leave before he heard a squeak behind him. Axyen sighed slightly, it was his pet, Arnold Dragonclaw, a purple Pygmy Puff who Axyen first saw and bought. Arnold looked at Axyen expectantly. "Come on Arnold, don't give me that look." Axyen said. Arnold gave an annoyed squeak. "Look I promise I'll be back soon, okay?" Axyen said, trying to make a promise with his rather stubborn pet, but Arnold still wasn't having it. "Look, I'll be back soon, I promise." Axyen said turning around, not wanting to keep Astra waiting, Arnold suddenly moved very quickly in circles around Axyen, Axyen could not risk stepping on Arnold either. "Okay, okay fine, but you need to listen." Axyen said, to which Arnold stopped spinning in circles. "Follow me, and don't make a mess of anything." Axyen said, as he left the dormitory before moving on and leaving the Hufflepuff Common Room shortly after Axyen came into the Study Room with Arnold as the Pygmy Puff rested near the entrance to the Study Room. "Sorry I took long." Axyen said. "Somebody-" Axyen paused to look at Arnold, as Arnold looked back at Axyen. "Didn't want to stay behind, so Astra, meet Arnold my adorable, yet stubborn Pygmy Puff." Axyen said, smiling lightly.

Astra giggled slightly at Axyen's shocked expression. "No, baby dragons can't breathe fire when they've just hatched. They have to grow into it," she explained, reciting exactly what Aunt Seren had told her.

She set down the oranges and picked up some greens to color in the trees of the forest as Axyen explained his family history. "So you've got like a whole line of dragonologists or something? Like dragonology before it was a thing?" she asked. That's so cool that we both have dragons in the family! It's not every day you meet someone like that.

She continued coloring in happy silence, nodding to Axyen as he left to get a second journal. She was doing a lot better than she thought at the coloring, and she felt like she and Axyen were hitting it off very well. Let's see... I've made friends with two older years. That's crazy! She hadn't expected to even be making friends this early, let alone friends with older kids.

She was done with two and a half trees when Axyen came back. "Sorry I took so long," he apologized. "Somebody didn't want to stay behind, so Astra, meet Arnold, my adorable yet stubborn Pygmy Puff."

Astra's hand stopped as her eyes were directed to what looked like the lovechild of a hedgehog, a cumulous cloud, and the color purple. Her jaw dropped. She hasn't seen one of these yet, only a pink one briefly at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. The purple is infinitely cuter. "He's so cute!" she gushed, rising from her seat and crouching about five feet from the little guy to get a good look at him. His big dark eyes were adorable, and his little nose poking out from under all that fluff made her want to reach out and boop it. "Can I hold him?" She turned hopeful eyes to Axyen.

Axyen listened to Astra who explained that the dragon just hatched and that newborn dragons can't instantly breathe fire, and that they would need to grow into it first. "Oh, okay. It's still pretty cool you met a baby dragon, do you happen to have any pictures of it?" Axyen asked, in an awkwardly hopeful way. Axyen watched as Astra put down the orange-colored pencils and replaced them with green-colored pencils. Astra proceeded to ask if Axyen had a whole line of family members who worked with dragons. "Um... I am not completely sure." Axyen said. "My grandpa works in the field of Herbology." Axyen said. "However, I never thought to ask about how far back my family goes." Axyen admitted, as he tried to see if there was any mention of his great grandparents, though no memory in particular stood out.

Axyen smiled as Astra complimented Arnold who was rolling around, Axyen assumed he most-likely wanted to find something random on the ground left behind by students who were in the Study Room before them. Astra asked to hold Arnold, Axyen then said "Sure, just be aware of his tongue, and check to make sure he is fine with it as well." Axyen warned, hopefully Arnold wouldn't act up. I trained him well, everything should be fine. Axyen told himself, while he looked at the few colored trees on the sketchbook. Axyen used a pencil to begin writing, it certainly felt weird using a pencil over a quill. He began to write about a horror-type creature for the library and as a story time at the Halloween party. Axyen also occasionally glanced up at Arnold to make sure he didn't try anything. While Arnold is friendly and never means harm, he can be chaotic, even if he never means too.

Astra nodded excitedly when Axyen asked her about the dragon. "He's three years old now, so he's a lot bigger than he used to be, but Aunt Seren sends me pictures," she said, thinking about the last owl she received from her aunt. "Maybe we could walk to dinner together later and I could show you then?" She didn't really feel like running all the way down to the basement again.

She nodded along, continuing to color in the trees. She wasn't doing half bad if she said so herself. "Your family history sounds super cool," she said. "My grandparents just worked in the Ministry. My other grandparents were Muggles, and they worked at a bank."

When Arnold entered and Axyen answered affirmatively to her request to hold him, Astra cautiously siddled up to the Puff, sitting with her legs crossed. "Hey little buddy," she said as the purple puff rolled around on the study room floor. She held out her hand for him to sniff, kind of like a dog. She wasn't really sure how else to introduce herself to the animal. Why did Axyen warn me about the tongue? Do Puffs tend to lick people? Arnold passed under her hand as he rolled, and her eyes went wide as she felt the softest fluff she had ever felt grazed her palm. "Can I pick you up?" she asked, feeling a little silly asking out loud, but not sure how else to do it.

Axyen listened as Astra explained that the dragon is now three years old, which made Axyen wonder what it would look like. Axyen got more excited when Astra mentioned that she might actually be able to show Axyen a picture of the dragon. "Yes, that would be wonderful!" Axyen said enthusiastically, a few people might've considered it too much. Axyen listened to Astra as she said that Axyen's family sounded cool. "Thank you! Your family sounds awesome as well!" Axyen complimented. Astra explained that her grandparents worked in the Ministry of Magic and that her other grandparents were Muggles. Axyen had been mostly forbidden to learn about Muggles until last summer, which did take a lot. "My dad also works in the Ministry of Magic." Axyen said. "Hey, just a small little question, do you know a lot about Muggles?" Axyen asked, eager to learn as much as he could about them(Before he took Muggle Studies at least).

Axyen eyed Arnold. Arnold looked at Axyen. Now don't you try anything... Axyen thought. As he began to write in his journal, trying to make a detailed description about the Forbidden Forest and a group of teenagers. Arnold turned to Astra as she said 'Hey little buddy,' Arnold rolled around in one mini-circle. Astra held out her hand on the floor, and Arnold rolled over out of curiosity. Astra asked to pick Arnold up, Arnold rolled over to her hand, and gave Axyen the look. Don't even think about it. Axyen thought giving Arnold a firm side glance, Axyen had a small regret about teaching Arnold how to cause mischief, those Chocolate Frogs could've waited one(1) more day, but Axyen just needed to get a Chocolate Frog right then and there, and after so many pranks, Arnold seem to follow Axyen's example.

Axyen wanted to ask general questions about Astra to see what she generally liked, and hopefully Arnold would be interested enough(or confused) to not cause a potential scare. Axyen was generally worried Axyen would like Astra, because Axyen's mother found it creepy, Axyen personally thought it was cool, but even Jacob got freaked out at first. "So uh, what's your favorite class?" Axyen asked, it seemed like a good starter question to Axyen.

Astra shrugged in response to Axyen's question about Muggles. "A fair bit, I suppose. I went to a Muggle primary like my mum did, so yeah," she said. "They really aren't all that exciting, you know. I mean, their technology is great but useless since it's not compatible with magic. My mum's work actually tried to make it happen for several years. Never worked." She thinks for a moment. "And they make you learn this thing called Algebra in secondary that's practically useless in real life, unless you want to do maths for the rest of your life."

Arnold rolled around the general vicinity of her hand while Axyen gave him a stern look. Astra was confused but didn't ask any questions. The little purple Puff had practically rolled into her lap at this point and she pet his fluff. A happy smile involuntarily went to her face as her hand made contact with the soft creature. It was as if Pygmy Puffs were designed for hapiness.

She thought for a moment when Axyen asked her favorite subject. "Hm... it's probably Charms or Astronomy, though I love Flying, too." Her free hand drifted to her pocket where her wand was as she remembered with pride the first day of Charms class and her quick mastery of the spells. "What's your favorite subject?"
