Axyen was in a good mood, it was the start of summer and everything seemed to be going well, in fact, Axyen has been wanting a Pygmy Puff for a while but his mom and even his dad who was usually a lot less strict on Axyen said "No Axyen, we have told you this numerous times. You cannot get a Pygmy Puff." Axyen was behaving well in school and his parents weren't that disappointed, even his brother shockingly was more reassuring, which might've been because he thought mom and dad would be extremely harsh and even said "Hufflepuff isn't a rival house of Gryffindor." Jacob, Axyen's older brother would say. "In fact, I think Hufflepuffs are cool, they are really kind too, it fits you perfectly little bro." Jacob would say which helped Axyen a lot when he had to talk to his mom and dad face-to-face. However, they didn't act horribly, and his mother understood the moment he sent her that letter, surprise number two(2) for Axyen.

As a reward for being mature and responsible during his time at Hogwarts during his first year, not getting into trouble and whatnot, his parents decided to take Axyen to the Magical Menagerie where he would first notice various owls, Great Horned Owl, Indian Eagle Owl, but that wasn't all, there were many more owls, but there were cats, snakes(which freaked Axyen out slightly) and spiders(which absolutely terrified Axyen.) However, Axyen kept looking around.
Axyen noticed toads, rats, and lizards, he moved more into the shop to notice bunnies, ferrets and fish. Axyen noticed the one thing he has been begging and begging for(to the annoyance of his parents). The Pygmy Puffs, they were fluffy, cute, they didn't judge Axyen(well maybe they did, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him). Axyen adored them, he adored the cats, sure. He loved owls, but the school supplied owls themselves anyways, the fish wasn't really something Axyen was looking for either, it would make a great companion on walking trips, but it just didn't feel... it just didn't feel like its own person to Axyen, where the Pygmy Puffs simply looked cute and seemed like they would be fun to play around.

Axyen almost changed his mind looking at the bunnies, but one look at the Pygmy Puffs changed Axyen's mind completely. As Axyen moved further into the store, he was greeted by an older couple. Axyen noticed one's pot belly, the husband of the couple and noticed his wife next. "Why hello there, what are you looking for today?" The man would say, he was kind, Axyen noticed him wearing wire-framed glasses and he was smiling, he was a nice old man simply put, he looked friendly as well. "If you need more time dear, you're free to look around." The woman said, she was shorter than the man and was wearing a floral dress, she also smelled like sugar cookies. "I-I would l-like a p-purple Pygmy Puff please! I would also like a male one too if possible please!" Axyen said, excited. His parents and his brother let him go in alone, as they trusted Axyen to be responsible, and they were waiting outside, which Axyen was grateful for as his brother would never leave Axyen alone if he heard Axyen stuttering multiple times in a sentence. "Excellent choice!" The man said, softly smiling. Axyen nervously smiled, he made sure not to make any messes and not to scare or try and steal any of the creatures.

"Alright, I'll go get the little guy." The woman said, Axyen noticed her hair, short, white, curly hair. Axyen looked back at the man and noticed he was wearing a flannel checkered shirt, blue jeans, and a brimmed hat. Axyen looked back at the kind old woman with the purple male Pygmy Puff. Axyen already had a name in mind for the Pygmy Puff. "I-I think I'll name him Arnold Dragonclaw..." Axyen said, looking at the Pygmy Puff, or Arnold and handed the lady twenty-one(21) galleons and three(3) sickles exactly. The lady gave Axyen the Pygmy Puff and it was fluffier than he could imagine, it felt like an instant bonding between the two and Axyen knew he made the right choice.

The woman then went behind the counter and motioned Axyen over, Axyen came over still holding his Pygmy Puff and the woman revealed a sugar cookie in her hand, which definitely explained why she smelled of them. "This is for being well-behaved and well-mannered." The woman said, smiling. "T-thanks ma'am..." Axyen said nervously, he did enjoy the compliment and was more than happy, he came out of the store with Arnold, Axyen's purple Pygmy Puff. "Aww... seriously, you chose a PYGMY PUFF?!" Jacob said, clearly not expecting his Axyen, his younger brother to pick something so... cute. "Well, I guess you are in Hufflepuff." Jacob said. "Jacob you cut that out right this instant!" Axyen's mother said. "Right, right, sorry mom." Jacob said, frowning. "Don't apologize to me, apologize to Axyen." Sarah(Axyen's mother) said. "Okay, okay mom..." Jacob said, turning towards Axyen, while Axyen was silently watching the interaction, like usual. "Sorry... I guess.." Jacob said.

Axyen realized they were still right outside the Magical Menagerie. "It's fine-" Axyen was cut off by his mom who wasn't going to just allow an "I guess." to slide by. "No, I don't want no 'I guess'--" Sarah ignored Axyen who muttered "Mom... it's fine we don't have to do this right here..." Axyen said, although his mother haven't heard him practically whispering. "I want you to actually apologize to your younger brother right now." Sarah said, Axyen looked at the old couple and wondered if they knew what was going on. "Okay... Sorry." Jacob said, looking towards Axyen completely. "It's fine..." Axyen said. "Can we go now?" Axyen asked, still holding Arnold who was also listening to this interaction, though Arnold most-likely didn't understand what was happening between them all.

Axyen wondered why his dad(Matthew) didn't come at all, it was quite strange, but who knew? Axyen wondered if his dad just wasn't interested in watching Axyen buy his first pet, but then again, his dad might've been needed at work at the last minute. Axyen followed his mom and older brother as they began to head back home.
