Camp, 2023 Summer Duels, Game 7: Slytherin vs Guests

Reuben smiled as his spell hit the older girl. He saw the girl from his team, Maila smile at him too, raising his spirits. She had been hit by a flippendo, and a glance at the ceiling told him that they were going to get hit by lightning too soon, but other than that, they seemed to be doing better. Not that he was going to say that out loud and jinx it. Niklaus seemed to have missed his target and seemed agitated. Reuben gave him an encouraging smile, hoping that he would feel better. Thankfully they weren't hit by lightning this round, but hopefully that would continue.

Finally, after several rounds, someone have the guts to aim their bloody wand at her. Spark of bright light come straight towards the blonde. A seering pain hit her ribs and she trampled a few meters, almost touching the dirty ground. Ew. Thankfully the ground did not fully graze her skin, as she manage to stop falling halfway using her hand. But her glove manage to protect her spotless skin from what she thought would be a vatal blow. Well, anything hitting her, she could always consider as a vatal blow, as it could cause the possibility of bruising her taintless skin.

A sheen of malice flickered in his dark eyes, causing his lips to rise in an unruly manner, a wicked smirk that enjoyed to see his aims, achieved; but this look was reserved for times of duelling. Quickly, he snapped his eyes to Pea, who was blasted with a Flipendo. His eyes narrowed and he quipped across to Reuben and Niklaus. ”Firstly, you target me and miss- ” He gestured to Niklaus. ”And then you, target girls…” He goaded Reuben. ”This should be easy… ” he gave, confidently, tightening his grip of his wand.

As opposed to loads of spells up until now, only one went off this time around, and along with that it didn't even go where it was supposed to. It came from Peas wand and hit Duvessa, everybody else must've been in shock or something because nobody else did anything at all for a couple seconds.

	----- P erhaps all of them had been ensorcelled with unseen magic, for most didn’t seem to act and Pea, who did, had somehow miss-cast and struck Duvessa! Avery couldn’t help but wonder what had come over them all, but he was thankful he wasn’t hit; and thought that perhaps this would pull Duvessa from her slumber. Just his luck, to goad and taunt, to miss a beat. Thankfully they hadn’t capitalised on his brain-fog and instead were affected by it themselves.

There was no movement other than one spell being fired off and hitting the wrong person. Maila blinked slowly, taking a look at her team and everyone else. No one other than the older Slytherin student had cast a spell, it was like they were all just taking a break. A small grin placed itself on her lips before she got back into position. Hopefully the next round would be more eventful, at last there was still only one team that could win.

Action as strategized

It is seemed that luck was not apparent in their team, even though everyone other than herself turn into a darn statue. Maybe it was her anger that make her spell miss and miss-directed to someone who actually turns into a statue. Apparently, Duvessa decided to gave up mid way. Perhaps it was the pressure, perhaps she was just intimidated in her presence. What ever her reason is, she stopped casting spell and preferred to be blasted by the knock-back jinx instead. So she gave her another one at that. Not on purpose, but better that brunette than her, she guessed.

Klaus Havertz: Ency!

Klaus knew that in every fight there was a time for breath, access everyone's condition and re-strategise if needed. And this had been that time, to evaluate the outcome of every choice made. He looked around, his pale-blue eyes searching for recognition of his team's condition, but more importantly to take into account how were their opponents.

A smirk, maybe a too smug one, appeared in his lips when he saw that spell running into the wrong target, "Keep doing that! I don't blame you to want to join the better team!" He said cheekily towards the blonde-white haired girl with a wink.

Opposed to the last round, this one was slightly more active. It seemed at least two of the participants had come alive once more and fired spells off at each other. Avery's seemed to go well, clearly landing its target of Maila. Maila herself, wasn't doing so well. Whether due to the flipendo coming for her or something else, her spell rebounded back onto her with a nasty bang!
