Ah, shit. Things weren't looking too good for Dylan. The powerful spell looked like it could have knocked the wind out of him, not to mention the damage from before.

He blinked in surprise when the girl from the rival team started to talk to him, "Huh?" His dress? Wait-- Oh shit... "Yeah it wasn't really a fashion choice, but thanks. Love your hair by the way." They were on opposing teams but that didn't mean he had to be an asshole towards her, especially if she were related to Val.

A wounded duelist always seemed to take the duel into a new sort of chaos. A sudden, brutal, frantic kind. One side's blood lust compelling them towards brute force, and the other in a panic to defend against it.

The Murder would try to finish what it had started. There would be no more flashy damage spells, just raw power. Dealla and Aida would work on flipendos for Dylan, with Dealla throwing in a bonus for Manu. Callie would be the only bird to resist the flipendo's temptation.

On the flip side, the Guests would deploy countermeasures, trying to keep Dylan afloat in his personal fire tornado. Felix would rush to the aid of Dylan with a Reparifors, while Dylan made to blind the swarm. Manu would be the only one to shoot an offensive spell over. Choosing to exchange fire with Dealla - and given their current exchanges - it made sense. Passionate anger was always an easy instinct to listen to when picking what to do in a duel. A ventus would head towards the confident Ravenclaw.

But for all her confidence, Dealla wouldn't be able to shake Manu's torrent. Not all of it at least. Part of the wind would hit her, swirling around in a half-hearted vortex. Manu wouldn't find too much joy in the hit, sadly, as Dealla's own spell would bash into the guest with a surprising force. There was some degree of cutness to the feuding duo taking their first hit from each other at the same time.

There was nothing cute about what was about to happen to Dylan though. If Callie thought she was a punching bag, one wouldn't dare wonder what she thought the poor guest was. As Felix's warm healing flew over the boy, the two hostile flipendos headed strait for him. A blinding light would pierce the fog from Dylan's wand. Maybe an added edge to see in the fog? No, even with the fanciest of footworks and brightest of lights, he could only guess where the magic would come from through the fog. He did not escape - the duel had claimed it's first victim. He fell towards a fresh blanket of fog, courtesy of Callie.

"PAUSE!" Galton's voice rung out, partially distorted by the thick milky air. Mediwizard were quick on the scene. Dylan would be moved with great care, and hopefully the lad would not have too much of a memory of the suffering he'd just gone through. When he was clear of the piste Galton would give the go ahead "RESUME!"

Back into the chaos they would descend.

Aida smiled at Felix in response to his compliment. It was a shame they were fighting each other now but maybe they could be friends one day anyway. Smile never leaving Aida's face, the wix threw a nasty blast to help finish off Dylan and went on to chirp to the rest of the Ravenclaw team.

Callie was rather baffled how Aida could be so friendly in the middle of a battle like this. Years being friends with Thomas and Elias had rubbed off on Callie to the point where the encouragement baffled her. Yet the enthusiasm was oddly effective, spurring a cheer from the girl. "Would now be an awful time to sing under pressure? OOH! OR ABBA. I have a deep love for Abba that will not be contained." It was true, she made her dormmates suffer through listening to her sing on a regular basis. "LETS GOOO! ICE CREAM AWAITS!"

Perhaps Dee had been too busy twirling, or perhaps Manu actually had learned a thing or two from watching her - such as how to aim - but either way, the Brazilian girl's next spell actually clipped her before she could fully dance out of the way. The wind wipped around her, lifting her hair, and Dee considered for a moment, then shrugged. "Hey, if all your spells are like that, I guess I don't have to bother dodging."

Either way, anything Manu could do, Dee could do better - and her knockback jinx hit both Manu and Dylan, who just managed to release a bright flash of light before collapsing on the piste. "Pausing!" she called back to Galton, blinking against the stars flashing in front of her eyes. Any pause to regain her sight was welcome, then grinned at Aida and Callie's commentary. "Sing away," she encouraged. "This is a little one-sided, and we don't want the audience to get bored, eh?" Apparently Callie had successfully drowned the field in fog again, that at least explained why she couldn't quite make out Manu anymore. "And resuming," she muttered, raising her wand once again.

Dammit. Dylan went down like a big sack of flour, the poor guy. Things were getting a bit tense, but Felix couldn't complain. He always liked it when something was good enough to challenge him. At least if they went down, they'd go down with one hell of a good fight.

Magic mettle met a mighty test for the guests. Outnumbered and bathed in fog, the visitors found themselves in a true Hogwarts trial, with all the pain and suffering one had come to expect.

The Murder would need to find their next victim. And with their vision impaired, it made sense it would be the loud one. Manu was on the block to become the new center of attention. Or maybe that was Callie? Along with her flipendo she began to sing. The sentiment was sound as well - with the spell choices these duelists were making one really would grow bored. Aida with a Incendio duo and Dee with a ventus - all great spells, but nothing they hadn't seen in the duel already.

The guests would not have a much more interesting lineup of spells; each electing an Incedio duo to cast. No one could truly blame them for a safe set of spells though, they were a man down and blanketed in some of the thickest fog any had seen. Who knew, maybe this spell's light would make it easier to see in the fog?

The spells shot out of wands, ducking and emerging from the fog to create a diffused light show atop the piste. The duo of duos from the guests would miss Callie and Dee. Even with the slight blinding aftermath of Dylan's last hurrah they had been able to steer themselves away from the hot magic. The same would not be said for Manu. Aida's spell would catch her, the searing pain of raw fire overwhelming as flames caught on her clothes. To make matters worse, Callie's flipendo would force its way into the party, knocking some of the wind out of Manu. Dealla's ventus would not be supplying Manu with the lost air, that would go to Felix. It looked too random to be spread by Dee herself, so it must have just been an (un)lucky split - a reason the spell was favored.

It may not have been visibly evident, but everyone had hearing enough. The Guests had taken another beating. Did Merlin truly favor the flock? Or did the guests have a trick yet unseen?!

Once Dylan was down, the owl Scheherazade lost her motivation to keep awake. The Ravenclaws were doing so well that the desert tawny owl felt little concern for Aida anymore. Blinking slowly into the oblivion of slumber, the owl's flame-like eyes extinguished despite Aida's shouting.

“You're so on it today, Dee! Give them some of that damage back, Callie!”
