Camp, 2023 Summer Duels, Game 7: Slytherin vs Guests

A cursing word crossed the German's boy's mind as soon as that spell hit his legs compelling him into that frenetic irish dance. How could he not evade that? That was unforgivable from someone like him. Even worse he felt, when he saw that Reuben has been blindfolded by that devil made of heavens. This did not started right, but he was not one to quit that easily.
Jumping around like a mad broken toy, he still tried to evaluate the situation, sending a glance at Maila he understood she was having loads of fun with it, well...was not she who looked like a freaking dancer was she? "So fun isn't it?"He commented towards her, half irony half joking.

Un-surprisingly, the first round of their summer dueling went quite well. The white haired spell manage to hit one of those pesky kids. And a blindfold spell would be really annoying for them. But more surprisingly, the new girl made a good first impression as her spell hit their opponent. Pea made an approving nod while still in her snooty expression. “Not bad, Ember. Not bad.” But Avery on the other hand is not having as much fun as the two of them as a spell manage to land on him. Ouch, sneezing spell. She remembers when she got hit by that spell once. It is certainly not fun at all.

Remembering the words people had told her, she tried not to hesitate but perform too quickly so she lost. The dancing feet spell shot out quickly out of her Phoenix wand, and landed straight into her opponent. She couldn't help remarking.
"That's not a bad jig you're doing there." Duvessa gave a brief smile to both Avery and Pea. Secretly the older girl seemed very haughty, and confident in herself - Duvessa was naturally trying to hide the way she was slightly scared around her.

Reuben had missed, if only by a bit. He cursed himself inwardly for not being able to aim properly. To make things worse, he had been blindfolded and had literally no idea where his opponents were. From the sound of things, Klaus seemed to have been hit too, with a Tarantallegra spell. If Reuben had been able to look, he might have laughed, but for now, he was stuck in his absolute misery wishing he had been a better duelist. He took a deep breath as he decided his next move. He would not let those Slytherins have the satisfaction of winning this duel.

5 Flipendos, nice, that was a record in Dels experience, yes they didn't all go according to plan but they happened anyway! One backfired and one missed but oh well, better luck next time? Although it wasn't long at all until the Slytherins side of the stage filled with smoke. Reuben continued to be blindfolded and there was still a bit of dancing, but most of the effects were coming close to their ends. Or it seemed that way anyway.

	----- A is duel wasn’t going well. In the past he had carried his duels, but in this instance he was underperforming and it was starting to get on his nerves. After he had missed his strike, a rogue bolt of blue struck him and jolted him backwards. His calcium grill gritted and he renewed his stance with a scowl having replaced his once easy-going demeanour it held at the start of this duel. “Damn slippery worms.”

Maila nodded at Klaus' comment, „Most definitely very fun!“ she replied, grinning at her friend. Reuben had been blindfolded, which was not good for their team but in Maila's opinion, they would still rock this. Getting into position again, Niklaus targeted Avery, while Reuben decided to use Fumos. Following her friend and opponents, she also decided on Flipendo. However, perhaps she had been a bit too confident. The Slytherin girl who's name started with a D had been her target, Daphne? Diana? Whatever name it had been, the curly haired Durmstrang student had obviously been too distracted, letting her Flipendo backfire. This resulted into Maila stumbling back and almost landing on her butt. Ouch. Biting her lip, Maila got back into position. That had certainly hurt her ego. Maila was not the type to loose and certainly not the type to let her spells miss or worse, backfire. And yet, that exact scenario had just happened. Something that she also had not taken into account, was that Reubens Fumos was not only affecting their opponents but Maila herself and her team too.

Duvessa's couldn't have hidden a smirk as she targeted Reuben, casting a well placed Flipendo. It worked; moments later, Reuben was hit by a flipendo by both Duvessa and Pea. Then she looked at that curly haired girl who seemed to be aiming for her. The spell came out quickly and Duvessa got ready to duck, only to be surprised to find that the spell....well, it didn't come at her. The spell backfired to Maila.

It seemed that Avery wasn't feeling the brightest so she offered him a few words. It was a rare site, but they were a team weren't they?
"Better luck next time," She said, showing half kindness in her tone. But the black haired duellist took her place once more, aiming for her target.

Reuben held back a shout of despair and pain as he was thrown back with great force. Then, as he was thrown back again, he could not help wondering if dueling really was not for him. So far, he had only been hit by spells and had only succeeded to evade one of them.

Getting up, he aimed his wand where he guessed the Slytherins were and cast Fumos. Only, apparently he had ended up pointing at his own team and the spell had affected only one of the Slytherins. He sighed, trying to clear his head and decide his next move. He was not going to go down, not without a fight.

What is happening in front of her, is certainly embarrassing. The blindfolded boy “tries” to blind them by casting the smokescreen spell, which is actually a spell she quite like to use when she is also need a little cover up. But his spell backfired on his team mate instead. Tsk tsk, this is why he shouldn’t do anything when he is still under her spell, and just stand there and take her Flipendo’s quietly. And so she did. A spell shot out from Pea’s wand, a classic spell, but it does the job of knocking her opponent one by one. Two Flipendos fly at the blindfolded boy square. Pea looks at one if her partner, looks slightly proud that they had the same idea. Her other partner on the other hand, isn’t having the best luck compared to the two of them. But it seems that the other team have been targetting him in particular. She really wonders why.
