The year has changed, it was the start of another new beginning but the feeling of excitement and happiness was still the same. The place, its sounds and smells, were at the same time familiar and still had the same effect as if it was her first time walking through the narrow corridors dragging her baggage behind her. Ying stopped when she spotted an empty compartment. There were a lot of loud students looking for a place to sit, the place felt short and tied to walk through, so the young Gryffindor felt relief when she finally got able to find her corner of peace in the middle of that frenzy.
Ying had arrived with her parents and older brother. As always, Mr. and Mrs. Fang didn't like having to mingle with witches and wizards and their magic. They never took lightly the fact that both of their children were part of that world. They would never truly be willing to let them live entirely in the wizarding world and disregarding their duties to their real world, the muggle world, but in their perspective the only world worth living in. Ying admitted to herself that she hasn’t helped the cause by failing some of her muggle studies, specially philosophy and French. But to be fair to the young girl she had a lot to pay attention too, and philosophy and French were not really priorities for becoming a mediwitch!
Grabbing her heavy trunk, Ying put it up at the luggage shelf and sat next to the window on the red and comfortable train bench. Outside the weather was beginning to chill, autumn was at the door and it started to show up. The smoke spreading from the train’s chimney embraced and mingle with the people standing at the platform. Some were already leaving, others were just arriving and many were waving and waiting to watch as the train was starting its way carrying its passengers into a new journey. Ying’s beautiful dark brown eyes searched for her parents.
They were both standing with their stern and collected stance. For anyone who would look at them, it would be obvious that they were a family with possessions, from their clothes to the way they presented themselves no one could be mistaken. Mr. Fang was looking at his wristwatch, has he could accelerate time just for simply looking at it. Ying was pretty sure he was still at that platform only because of her mother, she wanted to believe he at least would do it for consideration and not only to show others his presence. But despite the fact that she had spent all her life living with him, her father would still be an enigma to her. What he really thinks, what he really feels…if he has actual human feelings, that is! Mrs Fang, in the other hand was looking at the train, as if she was searching back for her children. She was keeping calm, but whoever dared to look closely, they would read the concern and anxiety in her dark almond eyes. Ying wasn’t sure how to feel about her mother, as far as she knew, she was even more of a stranger then her father.
The young girl was not really sure if she wanted to be seen by her mother or not. If their eyes found each other, Ying would feel happy to say a last goodbye, but in contrast she would feel her stomach turn because she wouldn’t be able to discern if she would feel sad or relief for living all that acting behind. Sometimes, it was even hard to breathe while at home, giving her bad memories from the times she was fighting her illness…perhaps something will be needing more time to heal.
But Ying didn’t had to spend more time thinking about her parents and her atypical family, because the door from her compartment opened, and someone else was entering the cozy and warm space. Ying diverted her eyes from the window and looked at the person who had just arrived, with a kind and friendly smile that was so characteristic of our young lady.

Already in the second year... how time flies, thought Mari!
When Mari arrived on the platform, she remembered a year ago, honestly, almost everything was the same... the families walking from one side to the other with their first year children not knowing where the platform was, some mothers and fathers looking squinting at everyone, because they didn't like the wizarding world ( some parents of muggle-born children...), but the feeling of being there... was incredible, Mari even ignored everyone's noises, and looks around her, Mari really loved that place!
Mari came with her parents (Diana and Michael Alves), and her siblings (Shantiago and Caroline Alves)
Everyone loved magic! (With the exception of Caroline, she was still a baby, but even Shantiago already loved magic!)
Mari's parents are so happy every year that Mari is going to Hogwarts, because they knew that Mari LOVED (as did they) magic!
But they also missed Mari a lot...
Mari's parents were already known to almost everyone there (all puru-bloods), because they had very high positions in the Ministry of Magic, and because they were already known since the times of hogwarts! It was time to go to the train... and Mari didn't want to show anything, but she missed her parents and siblings.
Mari got on the train (with a very heavy trunk!) and only saw parents waving (some to get attention...), others looking for their children, some who just looked, and others (like Mari's parents), were with a smile on face that said it all! "I already miss you!"
Mari smiled and waved to the family when she found an empty seat!
It was almost ALL busy! And some of Mari's friends asked her to sit next to them, but there was almost no space, so she kept looking... until she found an almost empty one, with only one person, Mari knew her, but only by sight, Mari remembered seeing her in the halls of hogwarts, but what was her name...arrr... Mari really didn't remember...she just remembered that she was Gryffindor... Gryffindor... hm... ok. .. Let's just say Gryffindor wasn't Mari's favorite house... but hey, come on
- Hey! Can I? I am Mari, Mari Alves! - said Mari with a smile

Lucian is sat in their compartment and day dreaming about an old friend.
Lucian forced his way through the crowd of people, his mind set on finding a somewhat-clear compartment so he could wallow in silence. He couldn’t believe that he was gone. After all they had been through and now… now they were no more.
It’s like Irina all over again. And Lucian didn’t like it one bit. He hated feeling like this. People are stupid! Much to his dismay, the young Slytherin boy felt tears clog his eyes and he hastily wiped them away as fast as they had arrived. Crying were for the weak. He did enough crying in… April… perhaps when Bea had arrived. The day his evil cousin learned his secret. It was all suspicious, how he hadn’t heard word from Klaus about any blackmail nor from anyone about knowing his problem.
Lucian quickly realised that most of the ones he had seen had someone in so he took the closest one to him. It had two girls in. Ew. Although it would be ‘ew’ if it were two lads too.
People suck!
Not sure if that’s been mentioned yet.
"Hi. I’m sitting in here," he told them in a self-assured tone and plopped down in the corner. He looked at the two girls. He had never seen the more paler one before however the other girl, the one with freckles, he knew was a Slytherin. I mean, he had never had an interaction with each other. Not even waved! But he had seen her around and in class. He thinks her name is… Ari? Maybe Mari? The other girl thought, she was a mystery. Long brown hair and an… what was the appropriate shape? Oval? It was oval-y.
"I’m Lucian," he informed them, just in case they didn’t know who he was. Then he sighed and rested his head against the wall and let the blue eyes of a boy that were burned in his mind pass by with the trees as the train moved.
As they got further and further away from the platform and closer to the next chapter of the Hogwarts Journey… the once-familiar and comforting eyes also got further and further away.
Lucian turned away from the window and stared in his lap, oblivious to the outside world as he got lost in his thoughts…

Ying turned her head as soon as she heard the door slide open and a girl with wavy dark brown hair entered the train compartment. It wasn't the first time Ying had seen her, her face looked familiar although just by some vague encounters through the Hogwarts' rooms and corridors, but until the girl introduce herself, she hadn't known her name.
"Hi! Of course!" Ying replied to her with a welcome smile and a polite statement, gesturing to the other with her hand, to emphasize that she would not bother at all with her company and she could pick her seat, hoping that the other girl would feel comfortable in her presence. "Nice to meet you Mari! I'm Fang Hui-Ying, you can call me Ying!" She returned with her name and a sunny smile.
A few moments had passed when another person decided to join the two girls inside the compartment. This time was a boy, with raven hair and brown eyes, he didn't looked particularly excited like the majority of students. "Hi. I’m sitting in here," He told them, before sit right in front of her, "Be my guest..." Ying muttered a reply, lifting her eyebrows and eyeing him with disapproval, thinking the boy was being slightly to rude and impolite for her taste.
"I’m Lucian," he said resting his head against the wall and seemed to look beyond the window with a melancholic expression. Ying thought that he was weird! Grumpy and arrogant! "Fang Hui-Ying." She stated dryly before turning her attention towards the other girl again. "Your name sounds lovely, where are you form?" She asked curious with a glint in her honey brown eyes. Hopefully they would be able to start a nice conversation changing the negative energy that had just appear attached to that boy with too much sadness in his eyes and bad attitude, that compartment was too small for the dark cloud that had just enter. To be fair, their ride to Hogwarts just started and was too long for her to be able to maintain an awkward silence between her and the others, it was obvious the boy didn't seemed very inclined to talk, so she choose to start by trying to meet the girl that seemed much nicer and friendly, with luck, that was not a wrong guess!

[Quote]Mari was hopeful that Fang had told her that she could sit there, as she was already in DESPERATE about the seats.
"Hi! Sure" said to Fang, Mari had an expression of relief and a smile on her face, also noticing Fang's expression, she had a very kind and friendly smile, it was noticeable who was very nice... would it work?
Mari was a little undecided about the places but ended up deciding quickly (she wasn't going to standing).
A few seconds later, Fang tells Mari his name, Fang Hui-Ying, Mari had already heard that name at Hogwarts! Mari loved the name thought it was a delicate name basically perfect "Nice to meet you, Fang Hui-Ying, I mean, your name is very beautiful, it's of Chinese origin, right" said Mari with a smile on your face! The conversation was a pleasant conversation, they talked a little about their history before hogwarts, but a few minutes passed until another member appeared in the compartment, this time it was an agroto, a boy with dark hair and brown eyes, we said he didn't was properly happy!
"Hi. I'm sitting here" ,"Come on...", Mari said in a whisper rolling her eyes, but Lucian must have heard and noticed, Mari he didn't like it very much, but let the conversation continue, Mari knew him, he was from Slytherin, but the name... Lucius... maybe? Mary wasn't sure.
"I'm Lucian", and that's it, problem solved! It was "Lucian", "Pleasure, Mari, Mari Alves", Mari said with a serious expression, just like Lucian's, she preferred to answer like that, we'll see later. ..
The trip was just beginning, it was going to be a long one and Mari was NEVER going to be able to stay silent the whole trip, Fang, it looked like he was going to talk more than Lucian but... you'll see[/ Quote]

ReducioWhite shirt, white skirt, white shoes, white socks, white hairband. Beatrice was most definitely aware what she looked like and why. It was to show off the Duponts eldest daughter. Wealthy and Pureblood. Beatrice herself. It hadn't been different over the summer at her Grandparents Manor and she was so glad to be able to now wear what she wanted again. In Hogwarts. It was time. Second Year. Beatrice had a tight smile on her lips as she was trying to not laugh at her Father's ripped suit pants. It wasn't even that visible but Konstantin Dupont was fuming with rage. A little muggle girl had bummed into him, catching the bottom of his pants on the heavy suitcase she had been pulling along and ripping the expensive material. The childs parents had tried giving Konstantin muggle money but he had declined with an almost disgusted look. They were still outside of Platform 9¾ so he could not fix it now but he did not want to meet the other wizarding families like this either.
Before Beatrice could even realize it, he had told her that she should just go in alone. Her mother had stayed home today because Edith hadn't been feeling well. Beatrice's features dropped at her Father's words and her eyebrows shot up. Go in alone? Usually both of her parents had come along each time. Her father gave her a kiss on the head, waved and then left her alone. Beatrice relaxed as soon as he was around the corner. Turning around, she would pick up Adelaide and take her trunk as well as her satchel and enter Platform 9¾. It was busy, as always. A bunch of first years were running around hysterically and the sound of the train giving it's first warning whistle could be heard.
Beatrice struggled to get her Luggage into the train and eventually had to let Adelaide walk the train halls while she was heaving her trunk through the busy hall. No magic outside of school. A most painful rule. An older Student had offered to help her but she had declined out of pride, which might have been stupid but it was too late now. When she finally found a cabin that did not have first years in it, she slid open the door, looking at the three people that already sat there. Adelaide immediately jumped on one of the benches, next to Lucian. Other than him, there was Ying that she had met in the Maze and a girl she did not know.
„Hi!” Beatrice said. „Mind if I sit here? My cat seems to have chosen this compartment.” she smiled a small and polite smile, before pushing her trunk under the side of seats that Lucian was sitting on and putting her satchel above them. She shot her friend a worried look. Lucian didn't look quite okay. Then she sat down, Adelaide immediately jumping onto her lap. „I'm Beatrice Dupont. I remember you from the Maze Ying, encountered any recent threads?” she asked jokingly. „And you are?” her head turned to Mari, who's name she did not know yet. Adelaide was purring on her lap as Beatrice looked from Mari to Ying, to Lucian and back to Mari. The two other girls seemed to be in a far better mood than Lucian.

Lucian is happier now that his best friend has walked in, and with the cutest cat ever!
However that doesn't stop him being bombarded with painful memories of the past.
Lucian heard one of them mutter something about being their guest when he walked in but didn't pay them any mind as he took his seat. Lucian simply told them his first name in his sombre mood which lead to her introducing herself as Fang Hui-Ying--- why did her name sound familiar? He didn't put any more thought to it and that is when the other girl told him her name. Mari Alves. Ah. Nice.
He turned his attention back to his lap, expecting the girls to carry on the conversation he had interrupted. Lucian thought to his first train ride to Hogwarts. It was with Alice and Kim. He hadn't seen Alice a lot these days, yet another person to go missing from his life. At least this one wasn't his fault. Not like everything else that happened. In truth, he wasn't his best today. Not only was the fact he would probably never see Ash again but his body was in agony; it was a full moon last night and his limbs ached and moving was painful. All from a simple transformation.
Lucian wasn't sure how long he was sat in his misery and self pity but soon enough he felt the air change and when he looked he saw the most precious thing ever. It was a small grey cat. A soft smile befell his previously-saddened features as he reached a hand to scratch under her chin. "Hello beautiful," he whispered in German. "I wonder who is looking for y--" it was like an angel floated down from heaven. Her voice carried in the compartment and Lucian felt like he could cry. He looked at Bea with wet eyes before turning away from her and the cat. He couldn't let her see him like this! She has already seen him basically break down twice now! He can't add three there!
Adrian looked at the young boy as they sat on the poolside. "Young man, I will teach you an important lesson that you will do well to remember for when you are grown and ready to court ladies," he had said. 10-year-old Lucian frowned, what did it mean to court a lady? "Ladies don't care for men's emotions in the sense you should care for them. We are strong and and the foundation of a woman's life. They cry to us and we comfort them. We cry to them and we are seen as inferior and what are we not, Michael?" Lucian looked at his grandad.
"Inferior to anyone," he repeated with an empowering grin; gosh his grandad is so smart!
Of course Lucian knew that was false. He also knew that his friend would not judge him for any tears shown. However, it was comforting to hold onto what you knew and what Lucian knew were his grandad's wise words and advise throughout his life. And thus he looked back at his lap, then out the window, and then back to his lap again, even while she made a joke about her cat choosing the compartment. Bea sat down, he precious ball of joy atop her lap, and introduced herself to the group.
It turned out that Kas did know Hui-Ying!
The mentions of the maze brought anguish.
I started laughing as Ash added to my joke. “I would protect you,”
But who would protect Lucian? He was ready to risk it all with Ashley. To tell everyone that he wasn't like them-- again. Because of the Werewolf isn't "normal" by some of the worlds standards.
I blushed when he told me to say it again, “I’m so happy to be here with you, Ash. Really, really reaaaally happy,” I repeated, placing my arms on his shoulders and looking in those beautiful blue eyes. “Your eyes are really blue,”
Lucian gazed up at the sky from the window, the aforementioned colour mocking him. It wasn't the right shade anyway. It was unique... like the love the Slytherin boy had for the former Ravenclaw. A unique love rare in some places of the world and yet Lucian was lucky enough to have a brief few months of it before it was cruelly torn from his hands, and his heart, by the unforgiving lord. Fate.
Why must fate mock him so? Why must yet another love be stripped from his arms.
Was this his fault too?
Lucian flinched when he felt something against his bare knee and his brown eyes drifted down to find the cat rubbing it's head against Lucian. This brought him out of his stupor and to the remembrance he wasn't alone. He cleared his throat and hesitantly reached for the cat again, his hand running along the length of its back, "Hi, Kas. Cute cat," Lucian said to her. "I missed you. I missed you a lot," he added quietly.
He turned back to everyone else. "Apologies for my foul mood. I am not uh, feeling the best at the moment," that wasn't a lie. He wasn't okay mentally but, like previously stated, his body was in pain from last night.

The brunette girl with wavy hair, smiled while entering the compartment, taking a sit next to her. "Just Ying is okay," she replied to her when she had repeated her name, "Yes, I was born in London but my family is Chinese." Ying explained to Mari, "And you? Your name seems also to be from other land!" She asked with a small chuckle. At this point, the Asian girl had decided to complete ignore the boy sat in front of her, he had shown no kind of politeness or education, and even if Ying was not like her parents there were something really engraved in her, and someone that can't even behave is a person she had no wish to get to know or interact with! If only she was able to see the future...life is ironic and sarcastic, no doubt!
Ying was about to ask more thing about Mari, when the compartment door opened for the third time and a girl with long dark hair and sea eyes entered the small space. She was all dressed in white, in fine and rich clothes, not given a chance for mistaking her has someone coming from a common family. Ying recognized this behavior and social statement, because like Beatrice she had to look always presentable, showing where she had come from and her high standards. The young girl despised this, she was absolutely not her fine and delicate blue dress or her expensive cardigan, her real nature was on top of a broom, racing free dressed in sport clothes.
Accompanying Beatrice, or the other way around, was a beautiful with silver-black tabby cat that jumped immediately towards the boy, Poor choice...Ying thought with sarcasm but she smiled at the little furry kitten and then at Beatrice, "Hi Beatrice!" She friendly greeted her back, "What a nice kitten! What's its name?" Ying asked curiously, "After the maze my threads had only been broom racing and...studying." She answered to the girl sighing after saying the last thing she has been doing. Not that she didn't liked studying but muggle subjects were so boring to her now and she had been forced to study it hard during the last month, "What about you?" she asked politely and with interest.
Ying observed has Beatrice's cat kept calling the boy's attention and she felt surprise when she saw the he was actually being nice to her. Perhaps Lucian was one of those people who liked and felt better among animals than among humans. She couldn't blame him, not really, there were humans she would love to be able to avoid...her mind raced to show her an image of her father but Ying shrugged the idea from her head with a sting of guilty. "Apologies for my foul mood. I am not uh, feeling the best at the moment," Lucian then said looking at her and the others. the ivory-skinned girl felt surprise wash over her, he was really apologizing? "Sure," she started with her eyebrows slightly narrowed, not trusting one hundred percent the boy's words but wanting to give him a second chance, "We all have our moments!" She admitted with a small smile and glancing at Beatrice to see if the girl's expression would reveal anything more about the boy then his apologies.

"Only Ying is fine", Fang said, Mari smiled.
"Yes, I was born in London, but my family is Chinese."
I thought so, to be honest it's an extremely beautiful name! Mari said smiling right after Ying told her the origin of her name!
"And you? Your name also seems to be from another land!" Mari smiled!
That's right... it's Portuguese, my family is Portuguese, and I was born in Portugal, but I came here very youngMari gave a smile when she finished speaking. Mari expected Lucian to say something, because since he entered, he only spoke his name... Mari would never be nice to someone who wasn't nice either.
Mari was going to talk to Fang but at that moment a girl dressed all in white with black details appeared, definitely not the kind of style that mari appreciated...! Mari had never seen this girl before so she had no idea what her name was, Mari noticed that the girl also had a cat in her lap which immediately jumped into Lucian's lap, Ahhh! So cute said Mari enchanted, really beautiful! And it seemed to have snuggled into that place
Beatrice already knew Fang, and they had a mini conversation while Beatrice sat down, and meanwhile, Mari noticed the new girl's name, Beatrice, but also that the girl's cat was really liking Lucian, and oddly enough Lucian too was liking him... Mari was looking at them and was completely surprised, as it seemed that Lucian would have changed his personality in the blink of an eye...Mari couldn't judge her because it also happened several times...
And you are? Said Beatrice turning to Mari when the conversation between the other two girls ended
I'm Mari, Mari Alves, apparently you're Beatrice, am I right? said Mari in response to Beatrice.
At that moment, Lucian is heard saying to the three girls "Sorry for my bad mood. I'm not feeling well right now". Mari was surprised for a few seconds, and without reaction, as she only expected such an attitude when he was with the cat.
"Hm... that's cool! We all have these moments... I wish I didn't perceive you so well" Mari said the last words in a low whisper, hopelessly hoping no one could hear.

.At the station, Odi's parents had tried their best to lift their sons spirits. They didn't know the details of what had happened in the last month of summer, only that now Odi didn't want to leave his room much these days. He had managed a very feeble goodbye before heaving his trunk onto the train with scarcely a glance back at them.
Odi trudged through the corridor of the train, eager to find an unoccupied carriage. He glanced up to check his reflection in the window of one of the compartments. Man, I look rough, he thought to himself. It was partly true, Odi had stopped taking care of his appearance these the past few weeks. His hair was no longer its signature buzzcut that most of the school knew him for, but in truth, letting his hair grow out had only added to the imperceptible magnetism that was ever-present around Odi's vicinity.
All at once, Odi noticed that the carriage he was staring into had people in it. His eyes landed first on a girl he did not recognise, but as he looked over the rest of the faces, his face turned faintly pink as he gazed around the collection of people.
He couldn't imagine a group he would've hoped to see less. The first face he recognised was Fang-Hui Ying, whom he had met in the Gryffindor common room last year. Odi didn't mind seeing her as much. The next was a girl he knew as Beatrice Dupont. Beatrice's team had beaten Odi's during the last Slytherin-vs-Gryffindor quidditch game, and while that was embarrassing enough on its own, Odi dreaded the person he knew would likely be in the carriage with her. Pulling his gaze away agonisingly, Odi saw his former best friend, Lucian Mornstern sat petting a little grey cat that was purring loudly at his touch. He felt his blush worsen. The two of them had not exactly left things on the best terms when last they spoke, and now just seeing Lucian brought back a swathe of painful recollections of their last conversation. For the briefest moment, Odi considered that he might be able to play it off that he hadn't seen them, but in the next instant he had shot like a bullet into the carriage opposite theirs, his face burning with embarrassment.
Burying his face within his hands, Odi did not even notice the other person in the carriage with him. Frankly, at this point he would take anyone's company over those he had just seen.
