Eun-ji was a bit late for this one. The reason, of course, being that one of the participants was a certain Hufflepuff and Eun-ji’s ex-friend. She was pretty sure the part-veela hated her guts now but that feeling wasn’t mutual. The Ravenclaw caused the mess but she still cared for Lucia a great deal. It was awkward being around the other girl but she worried about her and didn’t want to see her hurt. As if the situation wasn't bad enough, she was facing Kim of all people. Who was Eun-ji supposed to support then? Well, on the outside it would obviously be Kim but on the inside she’d be very much torn. She didn’t want either of the two getting injured and she wanted both of them to win. Seeing as they were opponents however, this was of course impossible. It's going to be hard to watch...

As usual, Eun-ji didn’t cheer on the duellists. She’d wave at Kim if he noticed her at some point but otherwise, she was content just observing quietly. Occasionally her eyes settled on the beautiful Hufflepuff but for most part, she tried to avoid any eye contact. Eun-ji was not here for her. At least that’s what Lucia was supposed to think. Speaking of Lucia, she seemed somewhat different today. The atmosphere between her and Rose felt... off. Eun-ji wasn’t sure if there was any feud between them but both girls looked tense. In fact, the whole match seemed rather frantic. By round three, even the duel moderator decided to step in and check on the four students but she wasn’t overly worried. Emma, crying was unfortunate however she was a duellist and while Eun-ji herself didn’t like using Incendio duo too much, it was an unavoidable part of the sport. She’ll have to get used to this. Perhaps a bit harsh but it was true. Eun-ji spent most of her first duel on fire and she didn’t even think about crying. Painful experience for sure but doable.

So far, the Ravenclaw felt selfishly happy about the development. Neither side had an obvious advantage and both of her friends remained untouched. It probably wouldn’t stay that way for long but for now, all was good. They are both doing a great job. She thought proudly although her expression remained unchanged. Calm and composed as always.

It must be admitted that Lindsey wasn’t very used to showing up for duels that she herself wasn’t standing on the duelling stage, as she had herself struggle in the crowd in the Duelling Club. With much effort she finally secured herself a good place, and tiptoed to examine the duelling stage more closely. It’s a great pity that Lucia was no longer her duelling partner this stage, or she was sure that they would continue to show off on this stage with their striking tacit understanding. Lindsey thought with a bit disappointment, and had her eyes focused on the pretty girl with black-blue ombré hair on the stage. The girl beside her, Emma Wynn, was less known to Lindsey, a younger Hufflepuff and a Prefect. But hey, whoever Lucia’s partner was, Lindsey would absolutely cheer for them. They all had Blazing Badgers as their name, after all.

“Goooooo Lucia!!” She’d call out to the stage as soon as the moderator signaled for start. Lucia was indeed quick and trained, conjuring a Ventus and having it swirl right toward Rose Moon - another familiar face, a girl from her year whom Lindsey had met in second grade. The spell exchanging process was real quick, and in seconds the stage went burning. Lindsey nodded approvingly with a wide grin when Lucia’s Incendio Duo hit Rose again, but frowned slightly seeing Emma wasn’t in a very good status being hit by two spells in a row - Lindsey didn’t think that it was very noble of the Gryffindors to pick on a second year, really.

The two sides seemed pretty even so far, with only one person on each side getting hit and the other unharmed thoroughly. Lindsey crossed her fingers and stared at the stage earnestly, when the moderator called for a halt. Lindsey’s brow raised. There was no one on the stage going through a live-or-die moment - as a duellist you had to deal with fire burning your clothes of course - and she really didn’t see much point for a few seconds’ break. Huh. What a quirky moderator indeed. And when the Slytherin co-captain finally decided to resume, Lindsey cupped her hands over her mouth and shouted. “Go Blazing Badgers!” What’s better than giving her own team a cheer at such a moment?

Afternoon Slot, 12:30-13:30, Match 8

For the first time, a certain first year decided to finally watch the official duels of houses. She isn't here to cheer on her house though, for Gryffindor doesn't even have a match in this time slot. Heck, she wasn't even expecting herself to be making her way to the dueling club to watch the duels taking place. During weekends like this, she usually enjoy it by taking a walk near the great lake with wand in hand, trying out advance charms, enjoying some time alone and relax. Today was different though for she suddenly felt like not doing anything.

After wandering the corridors of Hogwarts in search of what she wants to do in her current mood, she found herself stopping just before the dueling club. While she had heard about the official duels taking place today, she had no plans of watching any of it until now though. There was like an invisible force pulling her in as she stood there near the door, watching people come and go. Raizel stared at the sturdy oak doors for a few seconds before deciding to take a look inside. While she isn't exactly planning on staying for too long, it would soon change when she saw a familiar face standing on the piste.

Raizel had only met her recently but Dealla Prince had certainly made an impression on her. No, it wasn't the fact that the older student showed no mercy on her after she agreed to be her practice dummy. She likes it that way though, no punches pulled although it was certainly seen as her being reckless or insane. Anyway, sure, that'll make a long lasting impression but no, it's not that but rather, the way she casted her spells, the power that it has.

Slowly, the first year Gryffindor made her way to a place where she could see the match clearly. She fixed up her plain white hooded shirt and then her wand bag with her wand inside hanging around her neck. She shoved her hands into her black pant's pockets while walking, her eyes on the ongoing match of the Ravenclaw duelist that she met before. First round was already intense and she saw how that lightning had hit Dealla, making her wince. Ouch, that's gotta be shocker. Still, impressive spell casting as always, sadly, her spell missed one but what was that? Did it just spread?

This match certainly has Raizel's full attention. She could see how strong these older students are, their tricks and she would be lying if she says, she wasn't impressed. "Neat." She remarked with a wide grin plastered on her face, much more when Dealla's partner unleashed a powerful flipendo. It certainly was getting interesting for the aspiring duelist. The duel continued and the cloud started moving towards the other side, the first year taking notes of the spells being used in her mind. While the other team was busy removing the blindfold on one of their members, Ravenclaw fired another powerful spell. This made the young Gryffindor whistle, totally impressed by their performance.

Now she's beginning to love the fact that she wandered into the dueling club during this time. She wouldn't have seen this duel. She wonders if the Gryffindor's duels were like this as well. It would be nice to observe the duelists from her own now so perhaps, one day, she'll watch one of their matches. Glancing back to the current duels, spells are still being thrown, unfamiliar ones at that. Dealla's water spell missed but her partner's ventus spell got a clean hit and that one looks like it hurts. The other team doesn't look like they are doing well with their spells missing aside from what seems to be a healing spell. That one's gotta be note worthy.

Despite the misses of the older Ravenclaw student that she met before, she still can't help but watch and admire her. Her spellcasting was certainly impressive even though most of her targets had been managing to avoid them. How would she react if Raizel cheers her on? She wanted to but she's afraid that it might turn out to be weird coming from a first year that she recently just met. Admiring and cheering in silence, that's what she'll do. She'll watch this match till the very end.

AngelFyre had not been a Spectator at a duel since before her very first official duel. Prior to that, she had made it to every match, one because she wanted to cheer her fellow Badgers on, of course, but she also wanted to learn the mechanics and gather intel. Everything about dueling fascinated her, and honestly, she had had the time to do it back then. It was all PS at that point... Pre-Simon. But Simon did happen and somewhere along the way spectating at dueling matches happily gave way to spectating at broom races.

Until today.

Her dueling partner for the first two matches of the season had been Emma, and AngelFyre had not even considered not showing up to support her and her newest partner, Lucia. She had arrived a little late as it was her birthday and Simon had had a beautiful surprise for her down by the Lake, but she was here now to support her friend and her team, and by the looks of it, Emma needed it.

AngelFyre's heart broke a little for Emma in the moment. It was not pity. Never that. She knew what Emma was capable of, and would be capable of in the future, as she grew into her abilities. Emma had everything it took to be a top-notch duelist right now except for two things: confidence and experience. She knew her friend well enough to know that right now, she was embarrassed more than anything, and if she continued down that road of thinking, it was going to lead her, and Lucia, into a loss. That would not be the end of the world, but if Emma blamed herself for it, the repercussions in the future could be many... and none of them good.

AngelFyre debated whether to shout out to her or not, but did not want to break her concentration, or any of the duelists' concentration by doing so, but the moderator, Fang Hui-Ming, one of her and Emma's first dueling opponents, showed a remarkable, if very unorthodox, moment of humanity in the midst of everything and gave everyone on stage a moment's respite. AngelFyre decided this would be the time as there would be no other.

She quickly moved up as close to the piste, and to Emma, as she could. Emma was turned a bit from everyone, shielding her face from view. "Do not let your doubts get the better of you, ..." and AngelFyre paused just a second before deciding to call Emma not Emma, but partner, hoping it might transport her to a time when she was feeling stronger and more successful up on the piste, "partner. You have seen this before in our duels. You are just seeing it from my side, now, and you know that it is possible to come back from it. Believe it and believe in yourself. You have this. I know you do. Show those lions what you are capable of!"

Then as quickly as she had started she stopped. She had no way of knowing if Emma even heard her as there were other matches going on around them, but if she had, AngelFyre hoped the encouragement would bolster her friend's fighting badger spirit.

This duel had grown intense since the first round and the Ravenclaw team weren't pulling their punches. They are on a roll. That was another split spell from Dealla, making Raizel to watch her closely. How was that possible? She was curious about it and it looked awesome. Useful and awesome. Perhaps she could bug her about it the next time they meet again. It'd be interesting to learn about it. It was a successful hit on one but misses on the other and the Ravens didn't stop there. That wind jinx had just knocked one of their opponents.

Ouch. Raizel winced at that hit. That's gotta hurt a lot and their target was already weakened. She just hopes that she is okay. Duelists sure are scary and yet, here she is, still trying to be a part of that. Scary, painful but thrilling.

Now, it's just 2v1 being in the favor of the Ravenclaw team. While it may seem impossible to come back from this situation, a miracle could still happen. Spells were shot in the next round, a blinding spell and another wind jinx, both finding their marks. It was during that time that she heard someone speak, making her turn her head. A familiar face, someone she had seen before and then it clicked. Ying said before that they know each other and he introduced himself before. Kim Aoki was it? Yes, that was his name.

His question caught her off guard. Who did she come here for? Glancing back towards the ongoing duel, her gaze fell on Dealla. It was just a coincidence that she stumbled upon the dueling club during her duel, she can't say that she came here for her although her duel is the reason that she had stayed. "No one in particular at first." She answered, the squeak from his beloved pygmy puff catching her attention. "But since I stumbled upon Dealla's duel, I can't help but stay and watch." She chuckled, a soft smile on her face. "Kim Aoki was it?" She asked him, hoping that she recalled his name right.

"Eun-ji…" Upon the mention of the name, the Gryffindor girl turned her head once more to the ongoing duel. That must be Dealla's partner. She is familiar with some of the people from the official dueling rosters, but she still struggles with the names. She will admit, she's not the best at remembering names but she could remember faces, that is, if they made a good enough impression on her. "So that's her name." Raizel said, nodding, glad to learn that one. "She's brilliant." She added, basing it on the Ravenclaw's dueling performance. Both were in top shape in this duel.

Her head turned to Kim once again before she answered his question. "We only met recently though. I could say it was an interesting way of meeting someone though." Raizel told him with a sheepish chuckle. Well, getting blasted with spells on full force was something. Left her feeling aches all over her body but perhaps, it was all worth it. She gets to see what an experienced duelist can do and she will admit, it did make her nervous about the fact that she's trying to get into the stage that these duelists are standing on.

Raizel nodded when Kim mentioned her name, confirming it but then she paused when he mentioned the roster for their dueling team. "Actually, I'm more nervous about it." She answered his question once again. "I can't help but feel that way whenever I think about the first official duel." Inexperienced and not to mention, she still feels like her skills are insufficient at the moment and she doesn't want to drag the team down because of it. Hopefully, she'll finally see the fruit of her studies and practices before her first official duel, something that she's been trying to find after her first duel practice that went wrong.

"But I am excited as well. It's a strange mixed feeling." The girl added with a smile on her face. The thrill of participating in duels is still there of course. Who wouldn't get excited at the thought of being able to put what you've learned into action? Especially for her who loves her Charms Class and DADA so much. Not to mention, learning how to defend and fight which is what they could pick up in participating in these duels.

Now that he mentioned the official roster, Kim is part of it too right? That took her a while to realize which is kind of embarrassing at this point on. "You're a duelist too right?" She asked him, wanting to confirm it if she's remembering things right. Looks like the number of duelists she has met is increasing.
