Interacting with @Rhys Read, as Zendra Blanchet

Zendra blinked, staring up at the boy. She hadn't noticed how tall he was from afar, but now that she did, she began to appreciate her heels. Without them, he probably wouldn't have even known where the voice had come from. He still towered over her, but now she could make out every detail of his face. With blond hair, blue eyes that shone, and a smattering of freckles across his cheeks, he was something out of a fairy tale.

"Are you lost, too?" The boy asked in French, and Zendra beamed on the inside. Another Beauxbatons student! But before she could answer, he spoke again; "Er, sorry. Do you speak French?"

"Yes, I do." Zendra answered meekly, but she wasn't sure if he heard her, as he glanced back at the path he'd come from. It was covered in a wall of green, which convinced Zendra that the maze could move. How else would something like that happen? Still, it was bemusing that the school thought this would be the best way to enter a ball. She couldn't imagine getting lost and missing the event all together. Then again, the school was called Hogwarts, so maybe the peculiarity was a package deal. She looked behind her, and heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that there were still two entrances her way.

It seemed the boy was also frustrated by it all, for he muttered something under his breath before turning back to Zendra. She felt her cheeks heat as she examined him more closely, but her eyebrows furrowed when she noticed a faint scar just above his eye. She wanted to ask, but she wasn't much of a talker anyways, and she felt this was something better left unmentioned. Especially since she didn't even know his name. Thinking to herself, she wondered what it could be. Zendra liked doing that, guessing names. It was like a game, and it was exciting when she was right.

"I'm Achille," he said, interrupting Zendra's pondering. Of course, she thought, like the hero. Sticking out a hand, he continued, "And I am lost in this maze." Zendra took his hand, which was rather warm in her own.

"I'm Zendra," She replied promptly, switching to French. He had spoken the language earlier, so she could only assume that he would understand it now. "And I am also lost in this maze."

Or, more like, being deceived by the maze. She wondered briefly if it was just targeting them, or if every student had to go through this. That would be interesting, especially since it bore resemblance to the challenge that was used in the 1994 Triwizard Tournament. Unfortunately, it didn't look like there were any magical creatures around. Zendra would've liked that, especially since she couldn't visit the ones back at Beauxbatons until the ball was over.

Turning her attention back towards Achille, she asked in French, "You are from Beauxbatons, right?"

When Nico asked what Duvessa was planning on doing, she giggled.
"Hmm, well, my dad," She bit her lip but carried on, hoping that she had caused no offense or painful memories, "Er, he taught me how to go through muggle mazes. Bit from what I can see, I would take a wild guess and say that it's probably even moving. We could try, following the noise? Hmm, pity I can't do the Four-Point spell." She wondered out loud in response but her sharp sense of hearing distracted her. The sounds of laughter and trumpet horns seemed to go more North, so she took a few steps, arms still interlocked with her date.

However, it seemed that Nico hadn't finished talking yet. He launched into an explanation to say that he wasn't really social and prefered few company.
"Oh, don't talk about popularity with me. I only have a couple of friends, the rest I seem to make enemies. I mean, it wasn't my fault that that Gryffindor who looked as though he had just been through a hurricane, or that pestering Hufflepuff boy who fell asleep in front of me - but you can't blame an angel like me for it." She smiled, her eyes sparkling with deviousness but also soft.

She would have to hate herself to bring up her first few weeks at Hogwarts. They were far her most saddest, and depressing ones so she tried to stir the subject into another direction.

Maila carried a smile on her lips as she looked around. The maze truly looked intriguing and certainly like something she would have a lot of fun with. As Valentin spoke, she turned her head back to him and listened to the older boy's words. Valentin returned her curtsy with a bow and as he brought out his wand, she watched as he performed the bouquet spell with such easiness. A color burst of orange, white and green appeared in the hexwizard champions hand. He extended them to her, a certain graze coming with every motion of his. The bouquet consisted of buttercups, lillies and dasies. „Thank you.” Maila said with a bright smile before her companion on this adventure spoke again. She liked being here with Valentin. He was a kind, gentle soul and the first time they had met, he had shown a clear passion for music that Maila returned with a deep love for her own instrument and music in general. Valentin's comment about the stars getting caught in her gown made Maila look at her dress again and with his comment, a smile spread across her lips. She really liked this dress, seeing as it had belonged to her mother. She had tailored it to fit Maila and she absolutely loved it. Maila thought the blue sparkly color complimented her brown skin and made her eyes pop in a way she could not describe. Maila wanted to say something in return to Valentine's words but she simply couldn't find fitting ones. Gladly she did not have to because a new person arrived. Maila turned with Valentin, to the person arriving. It was another boy, also older than Maila. He was wearing amor from Japan. He looked like a Samurai and Maila thought that his attire was quite beautiful and fitting for the evening. She smiled as he bowed with his helmet under his arm, the smile turned into a grin as she returned his gaze. Valentin immediately went to answer the boy, who's name Maila found out that very moment. Ginyami Midorimori. Valentin had introduced her, with a compliment, while talking and the smile that sat on her lips as he called her m'lady and Ginyami m'lord simply would not leave. Releasing Valentine's arm she extended her hand to the Mahoutokoro Student, it would be up to him if he shook it or not. „Good evening, it is a pleasure to meet you.” she said, the words leaving her mouth with a hint of her Finnish accent. It did not take long until the next person arrived with wind and glitter. He shouted out a nickname that was apparently meant for Valentin and as Maila took a step away from her friendly date for the evening, the boy ran right into his arms. She felt as if she had seen him before and when Valentin made a remark about being together on the quidditch team, Maila put one and one together, assuming Vyacheslav also attended Durmstrang. A small cloud of red glitter had surrounded them when the curly haired boy had arrived and Maila thought that it had certainly been a nice touch for his entrance. The smile she constantly carried never left her lips as she also extended her hand to the next boy with her genuine smile. „Hello, I'm Maila. I'm assuming you also attended Durmstrang?” she introduced herself and asked a question at the same time. This would surely be a wonderful evening with many new friends. Once again it only felt like seconds until the next person arrived. Valentin said his name even before he arrived and Maila turned her eyes in the direction that her companion for the night was looking. Romeo smiled at Maila and spoke in latin in his first couple sentences and as hard as she tried to understand the older boy, she did not. Although she did not necessarily recall seeing him before, she had a feeling of also being able to relate him to Durmstrang. Again, Maila did not have to introduce herself, as Valentin did so again. And every time she felt as if he complimented her again, what a gentle and kind soul he indeed was. She listened to Romeo talk about how they grew a whole maze for this and she had to agree it was indeed a bit crazy. For a moment she turned her attention to the tall hedges and she would have focused on them longer, if Romeo had not started talking to her. She nodded at the very tall boy. „I do attend Durmstrang.” she told him. „I'd introduce myself but that has already been done.” Maila said, sending a smile to Valentin before returning her gaze to Romeo again, who was talking. She grinned at his words. „Indeed he did. Valentin is a wonderful companion on this beautiful night and certainly has a lovely attire for this theme himself,” she paused for a second, „although I must say that I could never achieve this gracefulness he is radiating with.” she said, not sure if her words even made sense. Thinking about this, she almost missed Valentine's next words. He looked first at her, then at Ginyami before starting to talk about cranes. Valentin asked what they meant in Ginyami's culture. For Maila, she had heard people talk about lots of meanings but the most common one for her was alertness and the sense of duty. Once the Mahoutokoro Student had answered, Valentin changed the subject again and Maila did not even notice that someone else approached them. Maila's eyes widened with surprise as a red haired girl strut right through them, laying an arm around Valentin and kissing him right on the mouth. She blinked quite a few times as they parted again. The unknown red haired girl was quite beautiful and when she called Valentin "babe" she was even more surprised. To her understanding, Valentin did not have a girlfriend. Why would he be here with Maila if he did have one and yet this girl, who she did not know, certainly acted like they were a couple. It wasn't that Maila cared a whole lot, especially since this was only a friendly "date", as far as you could even call this by that name but if this girl was in fact Valentine's girlfriend, then why wasn't she here with him? Thoughts were spiraling through Maila's head as she tried hard to contain her smile. As she watched Valentine's face, she saw a slight change in his features. It went from a surprised almost shocked look to something that could have been panic. The girl turned around, slipping her arm around the white haired boy's waist and started greeting the group. Maila's eyes lingered a bit longer on Valentin before she turned to the girl. She was really beautiful indeed. Lovely, one might even say. Maila could not tell how Valentin felt as he introduced Amina and Maila all at once as well as Ginyami. She had not seen the seeker like this before but to be fair, Maila did not know Valentin all that well. Directing her attention to Amina, who she send a smile to, Maila tried to scratch all her other thoughts out of her mind. Then, when everyone was ready to go, Maila followed somewhere in the group at whoever's side she had to opportunity to, or perhaps she would walk anywhere that the path allowed her to. Once again, she was thankful for wearing her red signatur Converse instead of heels.

I’m sad. Like… really freaking sad. I slowly walked over to where the maze was, my eyes cast down and my legs feeling like lead. I should be going with Maila, but the cow rejected me! Like… I poured my heart out and she rejected me. ME. Pissed me off and I really don’t know why. Does it affect me so? Just a stupid girl saying she wouldn’t go to a stupid ball with me. Stupid feelings.

Klaus is beside me, he hasn’t said anything about a date so I am assuming he doesn’t have one. That I am not surprised about. I’m sorry, I mean, how can anyone resist his so bubbly and open personality.

I rolled my eyes and cast a look at him.

Yeah right. I would be so livid if Klaus got a date and I didn’t. Stupid older bother. But I wasn’t gonna cry over my brother, he didn’t deserve it. Plus I doubt he even got a date. He is walking with me to the entrance and no one else, so imma take that as confirmation he was alone too. Oh, maybe Stormy will be here, I thought, as the entrance got closer. And my older cousin, Lucian.

Lifting my head up, I was amazed by the effort into this. It was so beautiful! The amount of effort put into this!

As I walked further in, I swore I could hear crying. “Can you hear that?” I asked Klaus, looking at him briefly. Frowning, I kept my eyes about me as I looked into every small corner and dead end. My eyes widened when I saw him. “Hey Storm,” I greeted quietly, kneeling down beside my friend. He was dressed in a dress and I commended his bravery. Especially for how frilly it was. He was simply rocking back and forth. I had seen Luci do this sometimes but I figured that these were different circumstances. “Can I hug you?” I asked softly, going in for the hug anyway. If he let me, I would hug him tight, from the side. “Warum bist du traurig?” I asked, cursing to myself quietly. “I mean, why are you sad?” I translated.

This was killing me, seeing Stormy so upset. I wonder what was wrong. I know that we haven’t been the best of friends for ages, after he kissed me, but we were getting back on track, have been for months. Yes, I was a little freaked out about it… but I found myself missing my friend when we weren’t speaking, but my stubborn and hot headed nature overthrew my loyalty and I broke away from him.

But I’m here now. I also forgot that Klaus was next to me and is probably dying inside, haha.

It looked to me like we had the formulation of a most interesting company of travel. Three of ours were of the military impression, one was a prince and the other no doubt a fair yet resilient maiden as many were in the more fantastical retellings of mythos. Glitter sparkled everywhere the eye looked thanks to Slava's arsenal; ah I would have to steer as clear of it as possible unless I wanted to never be able to get the twinkling matter out of my hair and clothes. Reminded me most delightfully of my brother, were I to be honest; that boundless energy that was hard pressed to be tamped down and ignored.

It was only I had properly perused the glitter upon the ground and now sparkling the air with fractal splendour did I return my attention to Valentin... and how he was staring me right in the eyes as if he could pierce through them with the intensity of his gaze. Not in a discomforting way, mind you, but rather as if he had spotted something that had caught his attention in a way that was impossible to look away from. Almost as if he had spotted the snitch. At the remark of being mor radiant than Apollo, I felt the corners of my eyes crinkle slightly with amusement as a broad, almost shy grin slowly crossed my features. "Oh, I'd be careful to compare me with a god. You know how jealous they can be if a mortal is considered more beautiful than they." As comparably polite as Apollo was in most of his mythology both Greek and Roman, were I an adherent to that polytheistic faith I would never dare to take compliment to such a statement. "Best I would be willing to say is that Apollo was feeling kind."

I wasn't really used to dressing up, but I really did like this outfit. It felt comfortable, natural. Uniform of the most ancient of my people and yet a people who were arguably one of the most advanced nations at the height of their rule. Entertainment, cuisine, technology, sciences, military prowess; were it not for the political turmoil (a system that in and of itself worked well enough itself to be implemented in many modern day societies) perhaps Rome could still live today, instead of through fragments in its inheritors. Did I really look that... nice?

"Maila. A pleasure!" I was finally introduced to the young girl by Valentin. "I hear Finland has some gorgeous winterland scenery." I had never been to many of the northern European countries, though I had seen pictures and movie depictions of them; if they were anything like the winterscape of Durmstrang or Valentin's Kazan Estate... and even the recollection of so much as Valentin's estate was cause for me to crush down a bit of anger in remembering the theft of vast swathes of Valentin's inheritance. "Ah yes, I am Durmstrang's student as well. Romeo, as Valentin mentioned. Again; charmed."

This was not the time or the place to discuss such things the like of embezzlement or fraud. Nodding along with Valentin as he made the same assessment as I had about our ragtag collection of military personnel, I crossed my arms lightly and leaned the shield up against my body so that I could continue to control the handheld gondolier-like lantern on the stick and hinge. A Japanese daimyō, huh? What an interesting term, admittedly not one that I had heard of before. And Valentin was a... şehzade was it? Strange how I had one of the 'simplest' military rank to comprehend; a Roman Legionnaire captain dedicated to his men in on the field's frontlines. Even if I would have only been a princeps, perhaps not even that but rather a hastatus were it not dedication and hard work that could have elevated me to the middle rank of experience among the other enlisted men of the Roman army; admittedly the miliary life would have suited me better than a homebound Praetorian guardsman. The wandering life had always suited me better, I supposed...

It was as if a blur of fire red had suddenly licked across the frame of my sight, and before I could react, a black-clad individual swooped in and down upon Valentin. In a smooth movement, my right sandal gouged a deep groove in the earth as it was swept behind me just as both of my hands choked up on the lantern's rod in preparation to swing. I had been jumped one too many times to take any risks, and I could not let such a jump harm Valentin. He had been through too much already and would not suffer further if I could help it. Yet, even as quickly as my hackles rose, they fell away as I recognized the body, hair, and face as Amina; and then my own face began to flush and my eyes widen in shock as I watched her in her same attack rather surprisingly took impressive romantic initiative and proceeded to quite (aggressively, if I had to describe it) kiss Valentin directly and then proceed to tease in a familiar fashion that I was quite used to hearing by now as her captain.

I closed my mouth as soon as I realized it had been open for a few moments and then chuckled nervously as I tried to defuse the heat prickling my back and watched Val trying to recover from the incident himself. Those eyes flicked to mine nervously, which caused me in turn to look away uncomfortably for a second with a slight turn of my head before trying to steady my gaze on him again. The back of my neck, as well as my face and the pit of my stomach were all a little bit heated or twisted, as it were. I tried to focus instead on the words and to thereby solidify myself that way. "'Babe' Amina? Really?" I asked with a laugh on the edge of my voice. Noting Val also turning his attention away towards Ginyami, I interfaced with Amina instead, keeping an eye on both out of the corner of my view. "We were about to head in together. I take it you're... ah... interested in joining in as well?" I raised a brow with intrigue, my eyes flicking periodically back to Valentin now and again to make sure that he was alright.

Eventually Valentin did pipe up, but with a noticeable blow to his usual graceful confidence and poise. That 'attack' must have really shaken him up, I supposed... If it wasn't that it was related to something else. "Yeah, come on. Let's see if we can't find something interesting in this maze they so kindly grew for us to conquer! Veni vidi vici! Latin: I came, I saw, I conquered!" I tried to give a small rallying speech. If Hogwarts was good at anything, it was surprises... and usually not good ones. Regardless of if we were going to make it to the other side, or to get lost in its depths, this would be an adventure...

And yet I found my gaze lingering on Valentin, a gnaw of worry chewing a bit at me. Valentin was rarely short for words or elegancies... and even the way he walked, though he seemed to float in my mind due to the lightness of his steps, seemed just a bit more weighted than before. Rattling after him a bit as I loped his way, I held the lantern before us both to offer light for his eyes. "A torch for the keen eyes?" I asked, leaning forward as my left hand shifted the shield on my arm again. If you wish to be loved, love. "I hope you won't let me trip, I'm not accustomed to night vision." I tried to crack a joke despite knowing that it would likely fall flat as it came from me and not my brother. He had such ease with social situations the likes of these...

I... well...

I suppose it could be said that my person skills needed a good coat of polish and a shining. It had never truly been my strong suit; I found it difficult to believe that my niceties had suddenly elevated to passable in the last few months or so.

The boy did his best to ignore the girl's laughter from his fumbling. He couldn't help but need to check his watch every so often. Perhaps a sign of OCD, but for such a confirmation Hunter would require some proof of a diagnosis from a professional Healer. As Bea asked about whether he had to be somewhere, he merely opened and closed the watch in a rather swift and nerve motion: "My plans are never evil. You have to sacrifice pawns to win, to create change, to create a better world." He adjusted his clothing, brushing off a bit of dust and dirt off of his body. He sighed a bit, "I have a time to be here. Your question should be what am I timing? Or, does my watch serve the purpose of a timer." Hunter's actions always had a purpose, rarely did he do too many things on his own accord with little to no reason. A warning at best is what he just gave Bea, or perhaps he was questioning her lack of a cautious nature.

His eyes adjusted more calmly, as if his nerves were beginning to stop firing off randomly with each blow of breeze that passed through the maze. Hunter was actually able to take in the scenery a bit more, taking note of a couple muggle and magical plants that be useful in potion brewing. Obviously he only recognized plants that served medicinal or potion purposes, those utilized just for decoration didn't catch his eye and were of something he lacked any interest in. He trotted across the ground, keeping a rhythmic tempo with each step... 1...2...3...4. Again, 1...2...3...4. His steps, motions, Hunter was already in the dancing ball mood already. Or rather, he had already planned ahead of time on how to walk, how to speak, and how to act. If only his fears weren't in the way, then he could certainly go through with his plans with little to no issues.

Despite how focused he may have seemed in his hypnotic rhythmic placement of steps, he of course kept a ear open to Bea's story. Turning to look at the girl, to focus on her expression as she told the tale of her Nan's jewelry and her mothers choice of clothing. Hunter kept his thoughts to himself, making little to no comment and allowing Bea to continue. He could have sworn he almost saw tears in the girls eye, but none had fallen. Even so, Hunter could tell death was certainly the most touchy and weakening aspect of this girl. All their conversations had relation to death, and he couldn't help but feel the dread she carry fall upon him as she spoke. Even now, her dress served the purpose of amusement and misery. What a dreadful night, but he could slightly tell she was trying to keep it on the low. After all, if she really wanted to cope about such a subject she most likely wouldn't have come to the ball. It came to Hunter's mind that he made Bea blow a fuse when he mentioned potentially revivifying Thanatos in the future... who knows how big of a gasket he'd snap if he even mentioned the thought of revivifying her Nan.

The boy placed his hand under his chin, the ticking in his head was still going by, counting the seconds till the right time would occur. His thoughts of course weren't in extreme light of good nature, but to himself he'd believe they were the right and thoughtful thoughts to have the best of outcomes. Taking into account Bea's current high egotistical personality of wishing to be called a queen, while simultaneously wearing the dress for her Nan's funeral. The boy didn't smirk, but the idea came to him. He knew the exact potion perfect for tonight's ball, and a plan on how to get Bea to drink it as well. "A king, of course not," Hunter responded rather calmly. Not once did he think of himself as a king, after all kings were the ones to be captured or killed. No, he preferred to be the strategist, the real ambassador that held the kings power. Similar to how Shoguns could overthrow an emperor, so would he rise and take control from the side lines: "Fool, of course not. A fool would be a delusional queen who wears funeral clothing to a dance." The boys facade was already wearing off. No more fun and games it seemed. "I wonder if it signifies you'll be dancing on your Nan's grave."

No, if anything. The game has just begun.

Bea kept walking. Where was the end of this stupid maze? It seemed to go on forever, the path never-ending as the kept walking through the twist and turns. Bea kept glancing at Hunter, watching how his face was alight with nerves yet calm at the same time. What a paradox. She snickered to herself inwardly. That was the entire ideal of Hunter. A perplexing paradox of potions, pain and perceptiveness.

Her nose scrunched and she snorted in response to Hunter. "Sacrifices must be made but where does one draw the line? Until everyone else is gone and your the only one left? Sounds lonely..." Her speech ended on a note of melancholy. Even though they were surrounded by people tonight, Bea had never felt more alone. Not for the first time she wished she had gone with a friend, not Hunter. She wondered what her night would look like full of fun and friendly banter. Not this sidestepping on eggshells around her partner. Her thoughts spiralled, imagining an afternoon on the lakeside much like the month before with Beatrice and Hunter actually having fun. Trusting each other. Having a great time. She scoffed to herself. It would never happen. Hunter was too paranoid, and she too distrustful. He'd broken her trust from the first moment they had met, and it had only gotten worse. Him partnering her tonight was only a short bridge across such a yearning chasm of distrust. It wasn't enough in the slightest for Bea to even remotely call Hunter a friend.

Following the path, her hands were itching to brush along the leaves and petals of the maze. Stopping at a patch of what she assumed were pink muggle geraniums, she picked two tiny florets, threading them through her braid. Turning to Hunter, who she assumed would continue walking, she called out to him cheekily, trying to lighten the mood. "Wouldn't you like some peasant?" If he didn't want King or Fool, Hunter would be a peasant. It suited him, a title fit for someone to be at the bottom of the social chain. The complete opposite of her.

At Hunter's talk of queens and funeral garb, her brows furrowed. What the hell was he talking about? That exact thing came out of her mouth before she could stop it, "What the hell Hunter? I never said these were me Nan's clothes. Or that I wore them to me Nan's funeral. Who wears pink to a funeral? My Ma would've slapped me silly for even thinking it." Sometimes she wondered how senseless he could be. "My Ma found this dress when she bought my funeral dress. A black dress. One actually suitable for a funeral." She snorted, eyeing him off like his head was full of rocks. Maybe brewing one too many potions had addled his brain? "Has the fumes from your potions effected your reasoning?" She laughed, finding herself quite funny. "This queen," she notched her crown straighter one her head, "would find dancing tonight quite fun. The last queen I inherited these jewels off was extraordinary." A small smile graced her lips at the end, and she burst ahead of Hunter, swooshing her cape around her, hoping it hit Hunter on the way through. They were nearig the end of the maze she thought. Bright light was entering from a space between the hedges and flowers and Bea sped up towards it. Hopefully it wasn't a dead end, and they could end this small talk of torture. She could do with a drink or something soon.

It seemed so many students and adults were leaving the Maze, as they found their way to the Banquet. The leaves rustled, and to those who listened on their way to the Banquet- the rustling would give the illusion that the noise were saying "Goodbye, goodbye, come back soon." Indeed, it seemed the Maze would miss every single person that entered. However, it all came down to those who were left in the maze, and to those who were entering just now.

The sky slowly grew dimmer and dimmer, as the sun was beginning to disappear behind the castle, the view of the sunset on the lake was glistening in vibrant shades of oranges, yellows, and reds. Those who appreciated beauty would likely see joy in such a sight. The flowers were getting dimmer but still remained to be equally as gorgeous- despite the fact that it was only going to get darker.

Fear wasn't present, and it would only make a few people sad, who those people were- were unknown- though if you were to truly consider it, it's likely to be the violent one that's currently in the maze. The wind blew through the gaps in the hedges, the walls of the maze, causing another round of rustling in the leaves. Another noise spawned, giving birth to another illusion. "DON'T HURT ME!" But who would pay enough attention to care? That would be up to those who weren't talking at the same time.

@Clark Baird seems to be rather violent, must there have been some form of hate against @Aurora Griffth? Surely it was something in their lives, as the Firemaking Spell was cast! Fire spewed out of the wand, aimed towards Aurora, but it seems Aurora was much faster than the spell, dodging the boy’s flaming attack of fury. The blazing fury struck the ground and crackled, sending a few embers separate ways before officially dispersing itself.
Spell Cast: Incendio (Firemaking Spell) WDC9
Clark's Wisdom: [d20 : 4] + 5 = 9(Success)
Clark's Accuracy: [d20 : 12] + 5 = 17
Aurora's Evasion: [d20 : 17] + 8 = 25
The Damage Dealt: NONE, plus no effects.
The Result: Clark succeeded to cast Incenfio, but roro was very nimble and evaded the spell
Despite the attempt of burning the young Hufflepuff, it would be seen as a way to anger the gods above, as a deer was seen running across a path in front of @Raizel Voltrouz and @Maholiz Evethisawe, giving them a slight nod before vanishing behind another wall of green. Maybe it was a sign, but maybe it wasn't really there. Who knew for sure? Would they see the deer? The antlers that spawned off of it's head? It's tan hide?

What caused the Deer to go into the leafy walls? Perhaps it was the fact that there was a howling sound- something similar to a wolf- one of it's predators. Was there a new threat entering? Was it that howl? That... wolf? @Colin McCoire was making his own astonishing entrance to a maze- though, likely not for the first time.

@Fang Hui-Ying has withdrawn her wand, but to no prevail in discovering @Clark Baird- the caster of the Incendio spell. However, to her potential advantage, there came a slight breeze once again, a flicker in the distance. It likely didn't have any significant meaning, but it would be a way to inform her that things could get better.

It was like the maze began to feel something for the first time- emotion. Like it cared what happened to it. To them. So, in response to those who were trapped in certain points of the maze, the wind brushed through, slamming each leaves and again, another sound popped out of the leaves. "Thissss wayyyyy." Those who were lost and were paying attention, would've probably have heard it, but those who didn't- likely didn't.
For OOC Consideration
Welcome dear travelers to the Spring Court! May the maze treat you well as you step through. Tread lightly and watch your step! A few rules to follow, lest you be shunned by the Court.
◉ You must be indexed (have your name on the list here) to participate in the Ball.

‎◉ Each character is allowed one action per round.

◉ The Spring Court is separated into two main threads, the Enchanted Maze and the Royal Banquet. For ease of moderation, leaving and entering a thread require a full action. Clearly write if you are entering/leaving, and specify which thread you are entering if moving to the other. You are able to move through an area and post an arrival to another area within the same round.

◉ To access the Royal Banquet, you must enter through the Enchanted Maze. This is the same for leaving, unless you are participating in the Knights Tourney (Kindly be sure to explain all of your actions and include a conspicuous place on your post for your character's statistics and unique abilities. It's okay if it's on banners. This is done for moderation purpose.). The Tourney is adjacent to the Royal Banquet within the Maze.
‏‏‎ ‎
◉ There are magical and muggle plants within the maze. Do be careful as the night continues...
‏‏‎ ‎
◉ The Knights Tourney is a side activity adjacent to the Royal Banquet inside the Maze. You do not have to participate. Sign ups has commenced.

◉ Moderation posts will occur weekly on Saturdays.

A lot more people were filing in, some I recognized, others I didn't. I watched as all the people were wandering about, meeting with their friends and their dates. I was ready to go into the maze, and I couldn't stop myself from tapping my feet hard. I was excited about what awaited Rita and me there, but I was patient. And then, I recognized a familiar face.

It was Daphne! I almost didn't recognize her, it had been about 5 months since I last saw her. Apparently, she and Rita knew each other. Small world, I thought. It was always a small world wherever I went. I wondered if Daphne remembered me. I wasn't sure. "Hello!" I said. "So sorry to intrude, but I couldn't help but say that I remember you!"

Well, enough pleasantries. I wasn't really looking around at my surroundings too much until I heard yelling. I swiveled around, just in time to see a spell approaching me. I gave a loud squeal. On instinct, I managed to dodge it as the fire hit the ground, and a few embers spewed out, then died out. What the heck? Was somebody trying to attack me? I pulled out my wand and kept a close watch.

At first, I didn't realize that Rita was telling me something. Well, more like a whisper. Then I heard what she was saying. "Oh, yeah, she can definitely come," I said in a quiet voice, distracted. "I don't mind. The more the merrier!" At least I was finally getting to go into the maze. That was good! I still wasn't sure about who had tried to hit me with a fire spell. I decided to be careful anyway.

Mahlioz looked around at the different signs as she walked with Raizel. "That's a good idea, signs could help... but with what? They're not very specific, and they might just be to throw us off." She laughed. "Maybe the maze's point is to get us lost, but ours is to get to the Royal Banquet. But honestly, I have no better ideas than to follow the signs. So... lead the way!" She grinned back. It was weird, this feeling. She wasn't at all shy anymore. It probably had to do with the fact that there was no crowd around, only trees, but even so... usually she would be stuttering like crazy or just not saying anything. Something about Raizel made her feel like it was okay.

Also, she had a younger brother, which was interesting. Mahlioz wondered whether she'd grown up with magic or muggles, but she felt like asking what someone's blood status was rude. It had happened before, her asking and someone getting offended. They'd gotten past that, thankfully, but Mahlioz did not want something of the sort happening again. So she stayed silent about her question. "That's cool! Very young though, what's it like?" She listened to Raizel's answer before adding, "I have two siblings, but neither of them is that far away from me in age." She wondered whether it made for a better or worse relationship. "Also, sorry about the randomness. I was just thinking about it since my sister goes to Beauxbatons, and I might see her here..."

Raizel snickered when Mahlioz nearly died by tripping over plants (no, she wasn't exaggerating, what are you talking about?), but that was it. It surprised Mahlioz that she hadn't gotten more made fun of, but she was thankful. Yeah, I'm okay, it was more of a fright than an injury." She'd managed not to fall flat on her face. Fortunately. "I wonder how they managed to grow all of this in such a short amount of time? It's so detailed, every single leaf and root in a specific place..." She'd just gotten attacked by a plant, and she was already thinking about how growing it worked. Well, that was Mahlioz for you.
They had been walking around for a while now, sometimes following signs, sometimes tripping on more mischievous vines, but they were getting nowhere. We are most definitely lost, Mahlioz thought somberly. She had a slight fear of missing out and hoped nothing too interesting had happened at the Royal Banquet, since she wasn't there yet. That's when she suddenly heard a "Thissss wayyyyy," coming from the leaves around her and Raizel. "Did you hear that?" she asked, frowning. "And, more importantly... should we listen to it?" She wasn't sure what "it" was - maybe the plants themselves, or some other form of magic - but she did know that they were thoroughly lost, and she had no better idea than to follow the bodiless voice. The day was proving to be quite peculiar. Sneaky, tripping plants, talking leaves... what next?
