Emma was happy to find her partner didn't take her rambling to heart. Smiling at her compliment, Emma nodded her thanks, deciding that for the moment keeping silent would be better than opening her mouth for fear of what more would spill out.

She fidgeted with her sleeves as she nodded at Guinevere's answer, but then paused for a moment. "You should try the spinich, I mean as long as it's not overcooked, it goes really well and the cheese hides the flavor." She explained carefully, probably sounding 20 years older than she actually was, but honestly she had overdone it on the sweets and junk in her first year, quickly finding out that balance was better and meant she could actually enjoy the opportunities to have less healthy options. Though admittedly, she probably still ate less veggies and fruits than she should.

Emma was further surprised by the spam comment. "Spam, what's that? It is some kind of ham?" Emma turned her head slightly, automatically doing the curious puppy look that she didn't typically notice. And when she did, she tried her best to stop it.

" I mean, I think as long as there's enough sauce to cover the dough but not plopped on in random blobby sauciness, more even spread is good. So maybe about the same, but maybe just a touch less." Emma said happily, glad that Guinevere was smiling. Obviously she was doing something right. Though the prompts were very helpful for that. She wasn't sure she would have been able to come up with anything on her own as easily.

"Oh, yeah heh," Erin glanced over at the snack table before following Beatrice to a pair of beanbags in one of the seating corners. As Erin sat down next to Beatrice, a boy caught her eye. Erin recognized him instantly; it was Ashley, a fellow first year in Ravenclaw house. There was something about the way his glasses caught the lights in the room... and something about the way his hair bounced slightly as he walked. Erin found herself staring at the boy for quite some time before realizing she was being rude to not speak to her speed dating partner, Beatrice.

"Oh, I'm sorry... for some reason Ashley had caught my attention," Erin said with a small blush. "So, you said you want to be a healer now?" Erin continued, attempting to get back on subject. "That sounds interesting; what made you want to pursue healing?"

Erin would listen to the best of her ability as Beatrice answered, but couldn't help but scan the room occasionally to find a glimpse of Ashley once again. Erin had yet to be a fan of school girl crushes, but for some reason tonight—she hadn't yet figured out why or how—Ashley was a spectacle to behold in Erin's eyes.

Ah, Valentine's Day. The diligent caretaker of Hogwarts castle had found herself enjoying the party in the Small Hall much more than she anticipated. With this bunch of students, it was sure to be anything but dull.

Finley kept a keen eye out as teens and tweens sat down and chatted about. Some wandering eyes strayed from whatever speed dating pairs they had, seemingly enchanted by others in the room. Once the time for the first round had run out, she picked up a small bell that was set on the table and rang it, gathering the attention of any and all potential lovebirds.

"That's the first round of speed dating done, everyone! If it felt fast, that's because it was. Right-o, seems like we have some people ready for the next round!" Fin picked up the bowl of names for the second round, mixing them up to ensure maximum fairness. "Let's see how the chips fall..."

Bailey chatted with maggie for a tad longer, and then it was time for the next round. Bailey was excited to participate in another round, and had enjoyed her first pairing. Bailey was actually quite suprised when she and Kim were paired together. She made her way over to Kim before asking "do you want me to grab the question? or some snacks? and where should we sit!?"
When she and Kim were both seated a little later, bailey read the question that they had picked.
Their question, when read outloud said
"If you could invent a holiday, what would it be, and what would you call it?"
Bailey smiled at the question. It really was not a question she would have thought to ask, and it took her a moment to decide what her answer would be.
Bailey, after internally debating for a moment, said "i think... i would make a national best friends day!!!! i dunno what to call it, but a day to celebrate your best friend, or best friends, sounds like fun. Gives you an excuse to hang out with them, do some of the things that you love to do together or don't get to do together often."
Bailey took a bite of one of the snacks that had been thoughtfully set out, before setting it down. She took a sip of water from her water bottle that she had brought.
Bailey had also brought, in a small over the shoulder bag, her wand, some gum, a few misc treats and bobbles, a notebook among other things.

Damion blushed profusely when he heard what Kim was saying. He was happy to be here with Kim Sato, who was his boyfriend. He was really happy that they had decided to come here in this Valentine’s Day event. Damion had not thought much about it but he was still happy that he was paired with Kim. He was a little anxious for this event as he didn’t know what the event was going to be. He looked at his boyfriend and smiled. He was quite happy telling him about his worst haircut. Because after all Kim was his boyfriend. He wouldn’t want to hide anything from him. He noticed the animal that Kim had and smiled. It was no surprise that Kim might bring the animal with him. Damion had seen the animal with him earlier.

Damion smiled as he wished Kim Happy Valentine’s Day. He was happy as this was something that he had wanted to do for a long time. He looked at Kim as he asked for his plans afterwards. "I don’t have any plans. What about you?" He asked back. He looked at him and smiled. He was glad that they were indulging in conversations.

Damion heard as the new pairs were announced and looked at Kim. Damion was paired with Hades. Hades and Damion were close friends. He looked at Kim and said "Good luck!" He heard that Kim was paired with Bailey. Of course he was. Bailey and Kim seemed to be something. He was not the jealous type- well scratch that he was the jealous type but he couldn’t do anything about it. He walked away from Kim to pick up the question for himself and Hades to answer. He made his way to where Hades was and smiled. "Hi." He said softly to Hades. "So our question is; It’s your first day on the job as an evil villain. What’s the first piece of mischief you commit?" He said reading the question out loud for Hades and himself.

"Well I would put sugar in salt container so when people made food, they would be adding sugar to it instead of salt." He said smiling. "What about you Hades?" He asked looking at Hades.

The girl Marietta, seemed alright. Not the best, but alright. She introduced herself as a first year Hufflepuff, which I had met a few. She told a stupid joke, that was actually dumb. “That is a dumb joke.” I said. Just then, the new partners were announced. I took that as my cue to go meet up with my new partner Rita Su. “Well, it was nice meeting you, Marietta. Maybe we could meet up some other time.” I said in a bored voice that screamed ‘I don’t really plan on following through on that.’ “Bye.” I told her, turned and left.

I went off looking for my new partner Rita Su. While finding Rita, I spotted Bailey again. I didn’t feel attracted to her. Huh. Weird. When I finally found her, I began talking. “Hi Rita. I think… actually know that I have met you before.” I said. “But, for a refresher, I’m Charlie Jacobsen, first year, Ravenclaw.” I said quickly. I had been given a prompt to chat about, but first I wanted to clear something up. This something was about the unity event. Unity had not happened in our group. In fact, the complete opposite had happened. I had caused the trouble. Well, AngelFrye had caused some too. It was not good.

“I’m sorry for any trouble I caused at the unity errand.” I said in a bored voice. Almost like someone had forced me to apologize. “I mean it.” I said in the most sincere voice I could.

Now that we were done with that, I turned to the slip that was our prompt for this dating thing.

Make a choice: Never hear music again or lose the ability to read? Why?

That was tricky. I honestly had no idea. “Hmmm. I would lose my ability to read. Music is life. I dunno if I could live without it. For reading, muggles have things called audio books that read the book to them. I would just do that. Or have someone read it to me.”

Rita was glad that her awkward attraction towards Roro Griffith was gone after a short while, making her wonder what exactly caused that attraction, maybe it was because of the food she ate and there was something inside that food which caused that sudden attraction, who knows. Anyway, unfortunately her former dating partner Reena did not respond to her, maybe due to being distracted by the food or other stuff, but the Second Year Hufflepuff beater with short straight black hair and yellow glasses decided to find her new dating partner, a first year Ravenclaw girl she knew from the Musicians Corner Club and the unity errand meeting, Charlie Jacobsen. Oh, Rita actually did not have to find Charlie cos Charlie herself had already found the black-haired second year Hufflepuff beater. Charlie then apologized to the Hufflepuff first-string beater about what happened in the unity errand meeting, and asked her a prompt question, choosing one from losing the ability to listen to music and losing the ability to read. Well, difficult choice, both seemed to be quite devastating. "I'm glad I have the ability to do both, life must seem to be a lot darker and more boring if I am blind and deaf, and thus cannot do these two things I am really interested in. By the way, when could I get a boy as my dating partner?" The Second Year Hufflepuff beater thought. Anyway, enough thinking, it was time to reply to Charlie.

"Well, nice to see you again, Charlie! Actually, you don't have to apologize about that chaotic meeting for that unity errand, it's me who need to apologize. I said something very inconsiderate and selfish to the group after you leave, and I am really sorry for that!" Rita finally replied to charlie, "As for the prompt question, I think you do have a point about audio books. However, I think losing both abilities would be really devastating to me, and I feel sorry about those people who are blind and deaf and have to live without those abilities. Their lives must be incredibly hard. I really cannot imagine having no access to two of my favorite things, so that make me feel lucky about having the ability to see and hear."

Opeila sat back for a bit, allowing Ms Greer to take over the next round of speed dating. Really, it was quite entertaining to watch! Seeing the occasional confusion on the kids' faces at the questions they were given- oh, Opeila had thought of a few absolutely random ones for sure- made her giggle hidden behind her hand a few times. Too bad that she was unable to participate herself this year, being an organizer! Despite the drama, she had always been able to appreciate the beauty of these events...

Especially the last year had been quite hilarious. Once the embarrassment had worn off, Opeila liked to think back to the day with a smile and head shake. Love potion did some strange things to people!
Speaking of love potion... @Bailey Glade seemed to not have detected the reason for the strange behavior of some of her peers yet and took a bite and sip of food as well as tea... Was it the light or did @Charlie Jacobsen's hair seem to shine more beautifully all of a sudden?

After a few more minutes, Opeila decided to take action again, drawing the next pairs. "Alright, folks, here we go!"

When Rita found out her dating partner this time was Kim Aoki, she was on cloud nine. Not only did the black-haired Second Year Hufflepuff beater finally get a boy, but also did she get one of the coolest and most popular boys she knew around hogwarts. The Second Year Hufflepuff first-string beater with short straight black hair and a pair of yellow glasses could see the Second Year Gryffindor duelist almost everywhere around the school, from club meetings, to errands and other activities around the school, and with the third year Ravenclaw girl, @Bailey Glade, almost all the time. Yeah, Rita definitely considered herself as one of the many secret BaiKim shippers. However, Rita never had the opportunity to get to know Kim better despite meeting him in all kinds of activities, and in many occasions with Bailey. Maybe this speed dating round was a perfect chance to get to know Kim as a person better! Anyway, to get herself an idea what to say during this round, the black-haired Second Year Hufflepuff beater grabbed prompt, which asked what was their favorite thing about the place they grow up in. "A perfect prompt to ask Kim about! I honestly have no idea where Kim grows up in, so it is a great chance to get to know him better! Let me go and find Kim now!" Rita thought with some delight, then went around the small hall to find Kim.

When Rita finally found Kim around the small hall, she waved to the Gryfinndor duelist with a bright and friendly smile as she tried to initiate the conversation, "Hi, Kim! Glad to see you once again! So glad we are now dating partners! Our prompt question is what is your favorite thing about the place your grow up in? I grow up in London with Chinese immigrant parents. and my favorite thing about London is it is such a biusy metropolis, and there is a lot of things to do! You will never feel bored! So what about you. could you share something about the place you grow up with?" The Second Year Hufflepuff beater then continued to smile at Kim and waited for the Gryffindor duelist to respond.
