Valentine’s Day. A day bailey both loved but also feared. She did not have any bad memories with the day, just a general fear of relationships after her first maybe boyfriend James ended up leaving without saying goodbye, which kinda really broke her heart.
The story about her and James was one that not many people knew- practically no one actually. Kim, her best friend might know, but bailey couldn’t remember if she told him, and she honestly wasn’t one for being up that part of her last up in a conversation. She did know she had told her friend Hiro, but no one else knew.
But today bailey had said she was going to have fun, make some new friends and maybe plan a date.
a date that won’t be with Kim… she thought, a tad sadly but more resignedly.
Bailey changed from her school uniform into a more festive outfit, consisting of a velvet red shirt, black slacks and her black doc Martin boots which she had painted roses onto. The roses were Valentiny sort of, but that was not the reason for the roses- the real reason was that baileys middle name was rose.
Bailey also put on a gold and red heart necklace, a necklace that her brothers had sent her. She also pulled on a black sweater, making the outfit more causal and comfortable.
Now all festive Bailey grabbed a few important things- her wand, a book to read, and a small notebook along with a pen and a tin of mints.
Bailey now made her was down to the small hall where the Valentine’s Day event would be- she had heard that it would be a little different this head, possibly consisting of speed dating rounds.
Bailey, with an excited and happy smile on her face, entered the room. She put her name on a piece of parchment and put it in the bowl.
With a smile that brightened up her face bailey said to @Opeila Winters “Everything looks amazing!! I am so excited!!”

Last night I had invited a guy to the ball. It was surprising for me, and I was somewhat shocked that I had done that. But it was over. We were not boyfriend and girlfriend. I was pretty sure he had a crush on another girl, who didn’t like him. I also thought he just wanted to go to the ball, like me.

I decided to attend a speed dating thing. I literally knew zero boys in this school, so I hoped this was my chance. I arrived in the small hall early to put my name in the bucket. I signed up with all of my preferances, yada yada, and when I was done I looked around the room. There were decorations and snacks. As I waited for more people to show up, I wandered over to the snack table. I poured myself a cup of tea, even though I honestly hated it, and picked out a few snacks I thought I might like. It turned out that I was super early, so I plopped down at a table, ignoring the other people who were there. I munched on some snacks, and got lost in my thoughts as I waited for the dates to begin.

Right after the Valentine`s Sweethearts errand where Rita had written love letters to some of her first year Hufflepuff friends and plant palace dorm friends, the hard-working prefects, Opeila and Bubba, as well as the school caretaker, Finley, who helped organizing the love letter writing errand, also decided to hold a Valentine`s Day Party, where students can participate in a speed dating activity. Actually, Rita had never participated in a speed dating or something like that before, and the Second Year Hufflepuff beater actually did not know if at age 13, participating in that kind of activity would be appropriate or not, since the first-string beater still believed age 13 was a bit too young for romantic relationships, but the idea of a speed dating activity sounded like something interesting for the black-haired Second Year Hufflepuff to participate in, so she decided to go to the small hall to see what was going on there as soon as the class was over.

When Rita arrived at the small ball, the Second Year Hufflepuff beater found out the ball had been carefully decorated by the awesome Slytherin prefect Opeila, with some cozy cushions and snacks for students to just sit and chill, as well as some colorful little hearts on the tables to give out some Valentine`s vide. Besides Opeila, Rita had also noticed the presence of two familiar faces, Bailey, the third year Ravenclaw Rita could see almost everywhere, as well as Charlie, the first-year little bird the Second Year Hufflepuff remembered as the Musician`s Corner Meeting last December and the chaotic Unity Errand earlier this year. Rita decided to just go to say hi to them and thank Opeila for organizing this meeting.

'Hi, Bailey and Charlie! I hope you two are doing fine today! Excited for the speed dating activity?" After saying hi to Bailey and Charlie, The Second Year Hufflepuff beater turned to Opeila, "Thank you for organizing both the errand and the valentine party along with Bubba and Finley! You really are an amazing prefect! Would you mind if I take some of the snacks on the tables while I wait for more people to come!" Rita then walked to snack table to take some snacks and tea and wait for more people to come so the speed dating activity can start soon. Then, the Second Year Hufflepuff beater realized that she nearly forgot to write her name of the parchment and put it in the bowl to sign up for the speed dating game, so the black-haired first-string beater also quickly put her name "Rita Su" on the parchment and throw it into the bowl after grabbing some snacks.

Valentine's Day. Okie Dokie...I've been to lots of balls, literally. So why should this one be any different? No, it really shouldn't. As I looked inside the Small Hall, I felt the horde of butterflies in my chest turn into wombats. If that made any sense whatsoever. So, maybe there was a reason why this party was different from the others...I was speed dating. Just the very thought of it gave me goosebumps, and the wombats in my chest turned into a horde of racing horses. It was enough to knock me off my feet. Biting my lip and pulling on my black cashmere sweater, I entered the Small Hall, sweating profusely. Luckily, the people there were recognizable to me, like Bailey, Kim, Rita, Charlie(however so briefly), and- who was the other guy? He looked a little familiar, but barely. I went over to Rita first. I had previously decided to write a Valentine's letter to her because she was someone I considered a good friend. "Hi Rita!" I said, waving at her. "Are you- er- excited? Or nervous? Or both?" I asked, wiping my sweaty hands on my oversized sweatpants. Ew, Gross... Getting to know my peers better may sound great, but getting to know my male peers was just entirely new and kind of scary. Straightening my bright pink headband slicked with sweat, I walked over to the snack table and slowly drank a cup of tea, plopping into one of the beanbag chairs.

As Rita was standing in the small hall, waiting for more people to come, and enjoying the snacks that she grabbed from the snack table, the Second Year Hufflepuff beater with short straight black hair and a pair of yellow glasses recognized a few familiar faces coming into the small hall. It was Kim Aoki, whom the Second Year Hufflepuff first-string beater knew was going to home since Bailey was already there and these two were always together at almost everywhere. Then, it was Damion White, whom Rita remembered from the flying club meeting as well as coming to check out on her after the fall Quidditch match. Finally, it was one of the friends Rita wrote a letter to yesterday during the Valentine`s Sweethearts errand, Roro Griffith. Rita decided to finish her snack quickly first and then immediately come to the three newcomers of the party whom she was all familiar with and say hi to all of them. The Second Year Hufflepuff beater then quickly put the snack into her mouth, and quickly walked to the group to say hi to them.

"Hi, Kim, Dami, and Roro! I hope you are all doing well today and feeling excited for the spend dating activity!" The black-haired Second Year Hufflepuff first string beater finally replied with a friendly smile, "To be honest, Roro, I don`t really know how I feel that this speed dating activity. I`ve never done something like that before, but I think it is going to be an interesting activity for me to participate in, and let`s see how it will turn out to be! I feel like not knowing what is going to happen is the most exciting part of this game, I just cannot wait for the game to start!"

"I wished the speed dating activity had scheduled to start sooner, I really wanna know what this activity is all about and I just hope it will turn out to be good, and at least not as chaotic as the unity errand!" The Second Year Hufflepuff first string beater with short straight black hair thought as she waited for the group to responded and impatiently waited for even more people to arrive so the speed dating game could start sooner.

It was Valentine's day. Beatrice had never ever cared much for the meaning of this day and she did not necessarily like to be with a lot of people - on any day really - but since she had written a friend-love-letter to Irina (her best friend and room mate) yesterday, somehow through that she had gotten into a good mood about this special day. Not only was today Valentine's day but also the birthday of her little sister, Edith. She was a little sad that she couldn't be there for her sisters birthday but she would hug her extra tight the next time they saw each other.
Either way, today Beatrice was going to a Valentine's Day Party. Bubba McGarry, Finley Greer and Opeilia Winters had set this up as an addition to the letter writing and gift making yesterday. It had been nice and today was also a pretty day. A pretty day for love, no matter what kind. Apparently there was going to be a speed dating activity and Beatrice was curious as to how this would work. She doubted that anyone would necessarily like to have a speed date with her or that she would get a friend or something like that out of this but perhaps she would meet someone nice. This was also a great opportunity to work on her social skills, that seemed a little, uh well, rusty..?

Finishing up one last braid, that flowed over into the rest of her open hair, she looked at her watch. It was time to go. Tucking her wand into the beltholes of her jeans, Beatrice looked into the mirror one last time. A natural rosy blush covered her cheeks and nose and her black lashes were curled up beautifully. There was no doubt in the fact that Beatrice was beautiful and that other people would also think so but for her, she was far from perfection. With that, Beatrice was out of their Dorm and made her way through the common room. The walk to the small hall was gladly rather short. At least a lot shorter than some of the walks one had to take to get to other destinations inside or outside of the castle.
Before entering, Beatrice filled out one of the forms for the speed dating. There were a few people already walking around and Beatrice let her eyes flow over the room. Small tables and sitting areas had been set up, as well as a table with snacks and tea. She wasn't sure if you already were allowed to eat or drink something but a tea sounded very good at this moment, so Beatrice walked over and poured herself a cup. She watched everyone walking around and chatting, just silently sipping on her tea and waiting for a familiar face or for this thing to start.
