At first glance, Reuben is a slim and slightly above-average-height boy standing at 4'11. He has dark, wavy and unruly hair that he often finds bothersome, though he's adamant about keeping it that way. His eyes are a mesmerising bright, sapphire blue akin to a pair of jewels; he's grateful for that and for the compliments it often gets him.

Reuben's favourite colour is a bright maroon, a shade he frequently slips on whenever there's a chance. He often dresses in colourful clothing, littered with a variety of fun patterns. His favourite is the combination of an oversized beige turtleneck jumper with various different coloured and shaped horizontal designs complimented by a pair of white slim-fit chinos. In colder weather, he often sports oversized jumpers and hoodies with either a cosy pair of chinos or jeans. However, he usually wears anything bright and riveting.

Reuben, or as his friends call him, "Rue", is easily described as a radiant and occasionally mischievous young boy.

Rue is a ray of sunshine! His bright, infectious smile captivates everyone around him and brings out the adventurous spirit in all. There's never a dull moment when Rue's around; his playful energy keeps things exciting and fun! His smile is absolutely enchanting; it lights up the room and has a way of drawing people in. Despite his beaming personality, Rue loves to huddle up in the library to read books and study the art of Transfiguration; his foremost passion. Reuben grew up in a modest abode in the suburbs of Newry. His muggle father worked as an engineer in the city of Belfast; a profession he was abundantly proud of. Reuben never really knew what his father's career actually involved— he was rarely home due to work, though he always tried to spend as much time with Rue as he could. He would often show him his inventions and tutor him in muggle science. His witch mother, however, was a talented healer. She was Reuben's primary parental figure for most of his childhood. She introduced him to magic at an early age and taught him a variety of things about the wizarding world.

Despite his muggle heritage, most of Rue's upbringing emphasised the uses of magic in everyday life. While not able to perform magic himself at the time, he has been accustomed to magic since infancy. Specifically, though, he has always been enamoured by transfiguration ever since his mother introduced him to it. Rue often nagged her to show him different spells, a few of which she taught him how to cast once he earned his own wand.

Growing up in a loving home, he was encouraged to pursue his passions and take risks. As such, he often found himself pushing the boundaries of what was acceptable with his parents. This sometimes caused trouble, while at the age of seven one of his ill-behaved streaks resulted in him being grounded by his mother. In a fit of anger, Reuben unintentionally transfigured his mother's beautiful necklace into a rubber band! He stood there in shock as he realized what he had done and immediately felt guilty.

While Reuben loved magic, he enjoyed the morsel of 'normalcy' his father showed him of the muggle world. He enjoyed learning about science and other muggle-made inventions his father introduced him to.
