PV OOC Broom Broom, Let's Race!

Howdy, all! Thanks for signing up to this broom race, I'm excited for all of us to learn more about this cool system! Below are the rules and specifics of the event. Good luck!


RULES

In general, we will be following the rules of the broom racing system, found here. These are the exceptions:
- This is not an official game, so we don’t have locker rooms. How your team communicates is up to you, but via discord or owls is recommended.
- This is an unofficial game, so the word count per post is NOT reduced. You must write at least 200 words per reply.
- To keep people in the game longer (it is an unofficial game after all, being knocked unconscious really isn't fun at all here) dealt by the environment will do (Broom speed/2) * modifier damage instead of Broom Speed * modifier damage, if speed is an odd number it will be rounded DOWN.

When will the game start OOC?
  • The thread will be created on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12th.
When is the game IC?
  • February 4, 2023
How much time will I have to post?
  • You will have exactly 7 days from the time the mod post is made to both write your reply AND for captains to send in their actions
What if I forget to post?
  • It happens sometimes! If you don’t post, your character’s move for that round won’t count, they stay where they are. And if you miss 2 posts in a row, you will be removed from your team.
What if I don’t have my own broom?
  • You’ll just use a school broom, no worries
Where will the rolls be done?
  • In the “bot-spam” channel on the h.io discord, and the results will be posted at the bottom of each mod post.
How did my character find out about this event?
  • June posted a sign-up sheet in the Slytherin common room and found some nice (faceless NPC) students to post them in the common rooms of the other houses.
I’m a captain, what do I do?
  • Your main role is to owl (not discord DM) me your team’s actions before the deadline each week. You must ALSO send me your team's "trunks" before the race is created. Easy enough, just owl me (NOT discord DM) the following form for each member of your team:

I think the remembrall bug is affecting the notification. I didn't see this until I browsed the LC.

Yeah, when people mention me inside their posts, I got no notification... It is probably just the bug and there is still no voting notification...

Thank you for your patience with my mod post! The others will happen in a more timely manner, things got got a little bit crazy irl. You have exactly 7 days to post and submit your actions.

Captains, please specify who you are targeting with their first AND last name, to keep things easier.
Also as a clarification, when you cast a spell or throw a projectile, your broom movement is halved. As always, my DMs and owls are open for questions.

HI I DID A LOT OF THINGS WRONG WITH MY MOD POST (Thank you Pei I love you) SO IM GOING TO FIX THAT AND WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN IT IS FIXED OKAY THANK YOU DFOR YOUR PATIENCE :)

EDIT: Okaaay everything is fixed! Here's what changed (also put in the mod post for convenience):
- Cash has a -4 to environmental rolls, not -3
- Irina, Violet, Aurelia, Langstreth, Maggie and Dorion are in Unit 3
- Aurelia has taken damage from the snow

Hiya, thank you very much for your patience as I dug myself out of a little bit of a hole. Mod post is up!

Also just a clarification (mainly for myself) that if you cast a spell and move in the same turn, I will half the SPEED YOU SUBMITTED, and not your broom's top speed. I deffo did that incorrectly in the first mod post but that will be how it's done from this point on. Thanks for your patience as I learn this system!
