OOC FAQ Duelling Questions

So I’m in this unofficial duel here and in the first mod post, I saw that apparently, I didn’t have my Fearless ability. In this official duel though, I had my Fearless ability. Now unless my eyes were deceiving me, I actually don’t have the Fearless ability in my trunk. So how come I had it in the official duel but not in the unofficial one? Well, after the official duel ended, I updated my trunk to add some spells, and so I came to the conclusion that while I was doing so, I accidentally removed my Fearless ability in the process. Now of course, I quickly went to update my trunk to include my ability, but now I have a question. Can the mod for my unofficial duel still say that I have the Fearless ability (because I do,) or are they restricted from doing that (because I don’t have it in my trunk)? The logical answer for me is that they can’t since it’s not in my trunk and my stuff has already been locked, but I wanted to check just in case.

Since it is an unofficial duel, there is not really a restriction about it. If it was an official duel, it would not be allowed because we lock the trunks at the start of the stage. However, for the unofficial duel it is up to the person moderating it.

Hi there, so- When your ability gets approved, the teammember who approved it should have added it to your trunk right away. If it was approved and not in your trunk, this was a mistake from index, not you. Once it was approved, you have the ability, you shouldn't be required to apply to have it added as well.

If it was approved before the trunks get locked, you should also have it in official duels pretty sure, even if you only notice that it wasn't added to your trunk after the trunks were locked.

Oh, no, it’d be my fault because whenever I update my trunk. I just give the staff code to copy and paste into my trunk. So when I updated my trunk for the spells last time I did it, I accidentally provided them code that didn’t include my Fearless ability. And that’s when I believe I lost the ability from my trunk.

Hello. First, No, you do not need to be in a higher year to join. Anyone could join and that includes first years.

Go to your common room and you will see above there are pinned threads (sign-up threads) that includes activities such as duelling, Quidditch and Broom Racing. You can sign-up there and then your captain will give you direction to what happens next.

Also you need to have spells added in your trunk(You can gain the spells through Homework completion), I am not sure how many spells you need but they should be suitable to aid you in a duel combat.
