Dave vs Damion

A new year was a good time for a new duel, and the One v One Duelling Club was going to ring in that new year with a bang! None other than club founder Dave Howard, a second year duellist, going up against Damion White, a fourth year broom racer! Colin was excited to see well or how lopsided the match would be. Each boy had his particular experience and expertise: Dave on the piste and Damion above the pitch!
While Colin had been in several duels by now, he'd not yet had the chance to serve as umpire, so he was happy to take the role today!
Just as Dave had done for Colin during his own duel with Kim last November, Colin now walked up to the podium that faced the dueling piste and went over the rules for both of the boys. He fished his watch and his own wand out of his pocket, checked the former to make sure the duel would begin at the proper time, and then turned to the combatants for one last word. “And let's not forget the niceties and bow very prettily! Good luck and may the best man win.”

Dave vs Damion
Damion was starting the new year with something that he would love to do. It was the 8th January 2o23 and he couldn't find something better to do than to Duel. Dueling was always something that was close to him. He missed being a part of his own Dueling team of his house. Well anyways, the best part was he could witness other people dueling. Like he had seen not very long ago back in October, a duel that had made him leave the premises in tears. Well the guy he was rooting for had lost. And he wanted Kim to win. Anyways, it was time to get Kim out of his mind. He would just tuck him in a corner of his mind and not ponder on him.

He had his wand with him. Other wise it would be weird to not have his wand with him in this duel. He didn't want that to happen. He would rather have his wand and be ready mentally for the duel. He walked to the stage. And looked at his opponent. He bowed down. He was ready for this duel. He wouldn't do anything that would make the duel be unfair. He didn't want to cheat at all.

Dave vs Damion
It was a beautiful Sunday morning, and I was in the dueling room to practice some spells, particularly the ones that I had only learned in this school year. I was going to be dueling in with a boy named Damion later today and so I took the opportunity to practice a little bit. Not that practicing would help much in the duel, but being able to cast spells a little bit better then couldn’t hurt. As I practiced, more kids would come in to practice, some that I knew and had interacted with before, and some that I didn’t. Eventually though, the clock struck twelve and I knew that it was time for lunch. I left the Dueling Room and went to the Great Hall where I ate my lunch of mashed potatoes and gravy before going back up to the dueling room.Colin - #3a2bc6

It didn’t take long for Colin and Damion to show up, and once they did, Colin, the overseer of this duel got behind the podium as Damion and I went on to the dueling piste. Colin went over the dueling rules just as I had done when I oversaw his duel with Kim and once he was finished, he took out his wand and a watch. After a few moments, he said “And let's not forget the niceties and bow very prettily! Good luck and may the best man win.” Well, Damion was clearly the best man as he was much older then me, so unless I got very lucky during the duel, then he might as well have already won. Nevertheless, I took out my wand and bowed to Damion just as the other boy did the same.
Mentioning @Colin McCoire and @Damion White.

WHOA!! This is sooo much fun! Colin thought. Even if he never got on the Slytherin team, he thought that duelling clubs like this, in addition to any, er --- off license --- duels and scrapes that came his way, would keep him just as happy as being on the team! It was also fun to take turns at being umpire. Colin felt proud that Dave had made this club and let any of the members adjudicate as well.
Both boys bowed very nicely as custom dictates in a wizarding duel. Clearly Dave had been practicing! Well, he is on the Hufflepuff team, after all, and Colin was pretty sure that duellists must learn how to bow properly. But once that was done with, the real part of the duel began with a flourish as both boys cast the same spell! Always a crowd pleaser when well executed and powerfully cast, the twin knockback jinxes that flew from their wands both hit!
It should have come as no surprise to anyone watching that Damion's cast was the stronger, after all, he'd had two years more experience with the wand than Dave but both managed to hit each other. The older boy's hit on Dave sent the latter sliding back a bit, his feet scraping on the floor, but he wasn't thrown down. On the other hand, his strike against Damion only caused a slight wobble. Even so! Flipendo is a solid jinx and both boys struck each other straight on the body. That has to have hurt!1.
