Eleanore is about 4'7" and of average stature. Her copper hair falls to her mid-back, and is remarkably straight and tidy. She likes to pull it into braids, and often experiments with complex braids to keep it out of her face. Grey eyes peer out from her rather narrow face - her high cheekbones lend to a haughty demeanor, though she keeps her expression carefully neutral. She has a fair complexion that flushes quickly and intensely.

At the age of four, Eleanore blew up a dish of shepherd's pie in a bout of defiance at her family manor - her parents were overjoyed even as peas decorated the white tablecloth and their own dishes grew cold.

xEleanore is, at her core, a snoop. She loves knowing what is going on and who is involved, and often resorts to subterfuge and sneaking around to find out. Behind her penchant for gossipmongering, she hides a sentimental soul - often found scribing letters, she keeps a portion of her trunk devoted to mail she has received. In part due to most of her time observing others, she is an excellent listener.

Eleanore tends towards the melodramatic in every aspect of her life, whether through long-winded letters or detailed retellings of rumors that may or may not be accurate. Hogwarts news travels fast, and her sharp ear seems to follow new developments as quickly as they arise. Her tendency towards gossip and idle chatter tends to mask her true beliefs, as she is extremely devoted to her friends and family. She is an avid writer and can frequently be found penning letters to family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers - likely to collect even more information into her arsenal.

She has an excellent capacity for comforting those around her. Her shoulder is always free to cry on, though she rarely advertises it, and she often provides wisdom beyond her year. For those accustomed to hearing slander from her lips, it can come as a surprise to find Eleanore soothing a homesick friend or a housemate after a failed test - and an even bigger surprise when the entire school doesn’t know about it. But woe to those who have wronged her - her judgment is harsh and she is unforgiving. She often resorts to subterfuge to exact her revenge, utilizing her own notoriety to ruin reputations through slow campaigns of rumor.

Her manners are immaculate due to her upbringing, and she can always be relied upon to provide advice on what flowers to send to a sick relative or what sort of parchment would be most appropriate for an invitation. Her face is carefully trained and often perfectly impassive - she is not one to display strong emotion, and a telltale flush is often the only clue to betray her thoughts. One can tell when they have breached Eleanore's closest circle by the frequency by which letters arrive to them, for Eleanore is always more honest on paper than in person.

She was raised in their countryside manor, where her mother frequently hosted parties for their neighbors - parties where Eleanore could often be found sitting quietly and absorbing as much information as possible. She loved reading her mother's column, and she likely developed her love for gossip through sitting at tea parties with her mother and the other columnists - all of whom had a knack for telling stories and weaving charms that kept Eleanore on the edge of her seat. Her mother took charge of her societal education, ensuring that Eleanore understood the basic ins and outs of the formal occasions her family often hosted, while a tutor ensured her penmanship was precise and covered basic coursework.

At Hogwarts, Eleanore has found comfort in listening to the stories her professors and classmates told - both verbally and unsaid. As a quiet first-year, she was able to quickly pick up on the tensions and relationships between her peers, and she spent a good deal of time simply observing what went on around her from the moment she stepped onto the train.
