PV Players Snitches and Sweater Weather Closed

First, there was Pygmy Puff Riot! It was a team that he had been on for an unofficial quidditch game before this one and he played in the seeker position. It was a stressful position, perhaps one of the most stressful in the entire game of quidditch and had been the only one left open. Where did his preference rest? Beater.

Simon had the strength for being a beater and if he weren't a broom racer for the house of Hufflepuff, he would probably want to take to the Quidditch Team and try his luck in that very position. Sending unexpected bludgers someone's way while they were so many feet above the air wasn't the nicest, but that wasn't the point of it - magic could quickly (and luckily) fix such matters as he found out from the many projectiles that had been thrown at him during broom racers or casted by him.

His new team, The So Good Awesomé Quidditch Team was going to dominate this match. After all, it was in the team name, as they were - so good, and awesomé, and a quidditch team. Plus, Simon felt their stats outweighed the competition and they had the determination to win.

"ALRIGHT, S.G.A.Q.T., let's clear this storm!"

Chasers + Keepers

With the blow of June’s whistle, the players in the sky bustled to life. Four players rushed to the quaffles, Alma electing to go on the lookout instead of diving in the fray. Occamy Storm keeper Clair Fernandez decided to abandon her post at the goals and join the flurry of quaffle grabs. June raised an eyebrow, unsure how effective the strategy was, but the Ravenclaw girl was well within her right to do so.

June’s skepticism was very quickly put to shame.

With the grace and athleticism of a ballerina, Clair dove right into the center of the field, taking hold of all three (!!) of the quaffles, flying them to the goalposts before anyone was able to react.

It seems keeper André Lebedev was caught off guard by this strategy as well, as Clair flew past the three rings and expertly tossed one quaffle into each with almost no obstacle from the young Hufflepuff.

June’s mouth dropped. She knew Clair was a good athlete, but she was that good? She cleared her throat. “Right, um.. That’s thirty points to Occamy Storm!”

The center of the field was filled with showy athleticism, but there was still strategy and strength to be found in the two beaters who circled around the pitch. Simon Kincaid had his eyes trained on Colin McCoire, who was focused on searching for the snitch.

WHAM!

With a single swing, Simon sent a bludger flying right towards the seeker. The heavy ball slammed into Colin’s back, sending him and his broom lurching forward. Ow, that one looked like it really hurt.

Young snake Lucian Mornstern was ready to help his team by taking down Real Official Quidditch Player Maggie Hawkins. But once the quaffles had been grabbed and flown away, Maggie’s senses were keen to pick up on the bludger flying her way, and expertly barreling out of the way before long before she was in danger of being hit.

Shakily I rose up in the air and looked around at everyone, then at my team. We can do this.

“Cmon Occamy Storm,” I said to myself.

I got into place and then June blew the whistle signalling the start of the game. I watched nervously as Clair left the goal and zoomed forwards along with three others, Alma hanging back a little — that’s good with Clair gettin in on the frenzy.

"You got this,” I said to myself, scamming the pitch to see where everyone was. To my amazement I watched as she got them all!! “WOOO! GO CLAIR!” I yelled, bet Colin is proud, I thought, trying to find him in the mix. I clutched my broom tighter as she flew to the hoops, face to face, one on one to the keeper, André.

She got ready, near the three hoops, and… SHE SCORES! “YES! WOOO!” I had to refrain from howling in my excitement! It really does feel different to play.

The game continued, I had my eyes on Maggie, but before I could think, Simon whacked the bludger and I watched in horror as it went for Colin. I tried to get there to him but as I turned to get to him, my body fell to the side! My heart skipped a beat as I righted myself, memories flooding back, when I got myself focused it was as the bludger zoomed by and hit him!

“COLIN!” I yelled angrily and in concern, it landed right in his back. Still angry, I clutched the bat in a death grip and sent it hurtling to Maggie. Much to my annoyance, she flew away well before she was in danger of being hit. However now though, I flew quickly to Colin.

“Mate, a- are you okay?” I asked quickly but not unkindly, I knew we both had jobs to do.

I then left and watched Colin tried to find the snitch but to no avail, I was also thankful to see Violet couldn’t see it! Good.

We were in the lead!!

June blew the whistle and immediately, all was chaos. She didn’t know where to look - Maggie went in for the quaffle, but Clair, their keeper, had other plans than just guarding the hoops, as she also went in and….grabbed all three?!

Alma watched in shock as Clair scored three points all on her own. I guess those Broom Racing practices really helped her agility and accuracy. Alma herself stayed back and was ready to defend Violet at all costs.

While she was playing her own game of protect the seeker, she heard a voice from the stands call out her name. She didn’t even realize they had an audience until she saw Avery in the stands, cheering for her like she was a Quidditch star.

“You got this, Alma! Put all that training to work!”

Alma smiled and waved, but just as she did, she heard a sharp thwack from behind and turned just in time to see a bludger hitting Colin right in the back. Ouch, that had to hurt. Although the brute force of a bludger was never something to celebrate, she’d check on Colin after the game - for now, it was her duty to encourage her team.

“WOOHOOO!! Nice one Simon, great job!” she clapped. Lucian, the other team’s beater, seemed to take a rather different approach. She had to admit, it could have been a smart move to try and take out the most experienced player, but it was also rather risky. Maggie was a strong player, and Alma had a feeling she could easily dodge a bludger sent her way by a first-year who isn’t on any sports teams.

Just as Alma predicted, the bludger had no shot of hitting her, as she was out of the way much before it reached her. “Nice dodge Maggie!”

Now was not the time to worry since the game was just about to begin. Violet held on to her broom tight, hoping even though it was a school broom, it would be enough. She didn't wanna lose now, especially so easily. With the blow of June's whistle, all the players got ready in the sky. Violet flied a little higher up above to see if she can see the snitch better, althought it was just the first round now.
She noticed the opposing team's keeper,Clair Fernandez, had decided to join the quaffle grabs. To her and her team's surprise she scored 3 quaffles to the goal post, making their opposite team score further already.

But it was just beginning, V didn't wanna lose hope. She kept an eye on the possible sight of golden snitch. And as she was looking for it she heard a loud noise, when she quickly looked at where it came from she found Colin and his broom lurching forward, seems like hit by a bludger. V would worry about her friend more if they weren't each others enemies now. She knew she was at disadvantage there as she knew he was also doing broom racing, so if her current enemy side lost some advantage that would be better for Vee.

She continued keeping an eye on the golden snitch.

Colin felt the exhilaration of adrenaline as soon as June sounded her whistle! "OOOOOOCAMY STOOOORM GU BRATH!!!" Colin shouted out as he jumped his broom skywards, darting towards and then away from the knot of players that were all heading for the quaffles that the umpire had released. And was it ever a melée!

As he made a starboard turn, Colin just caught sight of Clair diving into the tangle of players. And it was a good thing he had an eye for the beautiful Ravenclaw! Just as his body turned, So Good Awesomé's awesome beater sent his bludger straight at Colin! "UUF!" he moaned. It wasn't the first time Simon Kincaid had sent something hard and fast hurling toward's Colin's body! At least the bludger didn't knock him out cold! Anyway, that's why he was wearing a helmet today! "Next time aim for me head, Simon!"

Colin could hear Simon's teammates cheering his play, but Lucian called out “Mate, a- are you okay?” Fortunately, Simon's bludger hit sent Colin's broom facing the most awesome sight of the entire game! Clair, the most so good awesome quidditch player ever, had just sent three quaffles through the three awesome goal hoops at the So Good Awesomé Quidditch Team's end of the pitch!

She made poor André look like he was enjoying the match from the stands! Colin was not complaining! He swore that girl could do anything! The pain of being hit by the bludger disappeared as he swooped away. "Okay!? I LOVE THAT GIRL!!" he shouted down towards Lucian.

"YAAWOOOOOOOOO!!!! CLAAAIIIRRR FERRRNANDEEEZ!!!"

Some might call what the other team did as a good tactic - something unexpected that yielded out a good reward for the benefit of their team. While the latter part was true, Simon saw it almost on the same level as cheating. In any other team sport that he had played - hockey, futbol, rugby, raquetball - the player played their position or was in violation of going against the rules. Simon didn't see it as Ravenclaw quick thinking, but rather as a form of cheating and that just wasn't right. If Clair was a keeper than she shouldn't be allowed to play chaser.

"Oh, come on!" he said, expressing his discontent at that being allowed. Now he and his teammates were down by 30 because of a shifty move like that. Not cool. No, not cool at all.
It seemed pretty low and he felt rather bad for Irina and Ava, their actual chasers. Obviously the team didn't feel they could play their positions well enough.

"SO MUCH FOR A NICE CLEAN GAME," he shouted. "There goes our fair game..." he used the words that June had before the match had begun. When one team started to bend the rules, that's when things started getting out of control.

Now was the moment, everything could go amazingly well or terrible wrong! They knew their strategy was risky, Maggie was an amazing chaser, and in normal days, when both were Slytherins, Irina would feel pride in it and would follow her with eagle eyes trying to learn everything she could with her! But today they were not in the same team, today Irina would have to defeat her and she knew it wouldn’t be a easy task. If Maggie was the one catching the quaffle they would be in a terrible position! So as soon as June blow her whistle, Irina went to her position in the air, she and Ava were more then ready to do anything necessary to give a win to their team and obviously they had a master plan, catch the other team by surprise!

Talking about surprise, the sound that came from above her felt terrible in her chest. She felt a squeeze in her heart when realised Colin had just been hit by a bludger. She wanted to go after him, ask if he’s alright, but she knew she couldn’t, she had to remain focused on her task. By the corner of her eye she saw him continue in game, a good thing she didn’t had to pick up her friend in the air! Although, she wished she had a bludger to throw back at Simon! Okay Rina, concentrate! She scolded herself.

Irina felt relief seeing the other team’s strategy, So Alma stood behind, they will only trust Maggie’s skills? A little to bold! Irina thought while don’t wasting anymore time evaluating the situation. She went defiantly towards all quaffles side by side with Ava and Clair! The Occamy Storm keeper was unstoppable! The beautiful broom racer caught every single quaffle and didn’t wasted one opportunity to score for the Storms! 30-0 for the Occamies and their name never felt so fitting! “GO CLAAIIIIR!! YEEEEEAAAAAH!!” Irina cheered for the Ravenclaw girl, her now teammate.

But the game wasn’t over yet! And she knew the other team wasn’t just awesome by name! They had good and more experienced players. She had the sensation that they just had poked a nest of wasps and now they had to remain strong to deal with the consequences! Clair was no longer a surprise, for sure they would have a better strategy next time!
“COMMON TEAM!! WE CAN DO THIS!!” She cheered, trying to put a stop on her own negative thoughts.

Clair let out a breath that she had not realized had been held in, that had been so awesome!
She patted her broom and quickly flashed a smile at Colin. Even if they did loose this match, Clair was still having a blast. She could hear Simon roaring his thoughts out so everyone could hear. Had she cheated? Not that she thought. Maybe it was not allowed for a Keeper the be running around? The young girl shrugged, She had not gotten a penalty so therefor it had to be fair game.

She swooped back to where she was supposed to be, "Lets go" She said to her broom, not bothering to interact with her team. It would only risk distracting her them. And besides, hooting and hollering about scores (or losses for that matter) is not good sportsmanship, if she had been on the other team she would have not wanted to hear the other team shouting and rubbing it in her face, it was just plan old bad sportsmanship and she would not be part of it.

She turned her attention back to the task at hand and making sure she did her assigned job, and did it well.
