@Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood & @Astrea Soleil NeptuneGetting the tags on my Firebolt when it carries with it its new look and design, I fly above the walls of the Courtyard and hover just over the top of the tree where a collection of faux crows were. They angrily spring to life and flap their wings with glowing red eyes, but I don't pay them much mind as I instead focus on taking in the sights of the Forbidden Forest in the distance and the Petting Zoo nearby on the Grounds. I didn't usually have keen eyes accustomed to the dark or to spying things at a glance, but...
It looked like the ground leading from the Grounds up to the entrances to the Courtyard was... moving? As Valentin glanced over to me to assess my call on the potentially unfair throw, he would notice as I seemed fixated on something outside the walls of the Courtyard. Something was reflecting the light of the moon and the stars there on the ground; something shiny and dark, little flickers of black, brown, and greyish white. Just as quickly as my gaze locked with each, though, they all vanished away again as I blinked. Furrowing my brow at it, I puzzle over whether what I had seen was real or if it was simply a fragment of my imagination. Perhaps I was just tired and seeing things moving that wasn't truly there? A collection of shadows that flickered just right so as to distract and obfuscate my sights? No... surely there was something there, perhaps just a bunch of rabbits or small animals or something. Regardless, it was not of particular importance.
Tearing my attention from the odd sight, I turn back to watching the knocking down of Jojo's hat by Valentin. The two of them were notorious for their fancy footwork in the air, distracting their oppositions before selecting a weak spot and jopping for it mercilessly. On the contrary, I was a firm flier who was more likely to hunker down and take a hit as opposed to trying to be elegant in flight; more of an albatross as opposed to something like a falcon. As a Beater, I relied on my bone-crushing blows to end a fight as opposed to outstripping and out-maneuvering those who aimed for me. Naturally this resulted in my having to greatly improve my aim; if I only had one or two shots in me before I went down, I had to make them count before I hit the ground.
"Nice shots, Val!" I pull up alongside him after he finishes throwing with a smile on my face. My cheek still stings with the strike from my twin (I had to assume), but I clap Valentin on the back regardless. I take notice that Valentin, for once as long as I had known him, tried to warm himself up by crossing his arms. Since when had he been vulnerable to the cold? That was my running joke, after all; Mediterranean boy up in the frozen norths. It was like seeing a rhino in Russia. It made no sense, and it was likely very bad for the rhino to be there without proper environmental adaptations for it.
So thinking, just as Valentin had sacrificed his cloak for a young woman who had looked cold just moments prior, I take off my heavier red and black furred cloak and with a teasing gracelessness proceed to throw it over his head, ruffling his hair through it. "Stay warrrrrrrm, Val." I tell him. "I'm wearing a million layers and you have the gall to not wear any. You're gonna catch cold right before the first Hexwizard event."
Collecting the Quaffle from Jojo, I glance back to Valentin as I wait for my target to get ready to dodge. I point at him again; that signature chiding motion that many mothers (not solely Italian) made at their children when they want them to pay attention and follow given instructions. "If I am a knight, I have to make sure that my associates are well cared for. I can't have them getting too cold. You keep that cloak on and do not get to reject it or give it away until we go home after this celebration tonight! That's an order." I raise an eyebrow, waiting for Val's acknowledgement of my demands before wagging my finger at him one more time and then snapping towards Jojo, attempting my three throws with such suddenness that I hoped to catch him off guard and thereby garner my three points that way.Action: Throwing Quaffle 3x at JojoReducio

The fact that her spell worked was amazing, she had studied sooooo hard to be able to cast that spell. She also found it funny that Simon bad had the same idea to cast the bandage charm, only his spell had not worked.
Clair flashed a grin at Simon quickly, she would just have to tease him about it later.
She focused her mind back to the task at hand, she nodded at Colin. His plan seemed good enough at least the getting Lily out of the way part, the whole catching the doll thing with Simon and Colin seemed... Not very fool proof.
She shrugged off the thought though, boys would be boys and who was she to question them? They were just trying to help. Clair had a feeling the doll had some form of magic to protect itself from the magic being casted at it. That or everyone here was not yet good enough to take the little witch down.
The Ravenclaw was not going to let this girl get hurt anymore than she was, so she decided to go along with Colin's plan.
She could not place anyone named Gem in her mind, so she just hoped that this Gem would be willing to help.
She aimed her wand at the young lion and said "wingardium leviosa!"

Faerietale Endings

ReducioThe Courtyard had, from the start, seemed the only logical place to hold a ball such as the likes of the theme Faerietale Endings. What sort of Faerietale did not in some way incorporate the beauty of a twilit sky, or the delicate sparklings of the silvery stars overhead? The usually drab grey stones of the courtyard appeared almost silver in the almost entirely full light of the waxing moon, just one night away, and every tree and shadow appeared to have a slightly more angular and harsh edge because of Luna's soft yet intense glow. Soft birdsong, difficult to tell if magically or mundanely made, cooed in the black and whispering branches, and a soft, brisk, and rather chilly wind (11 degree Celsius/52 degree Fahrenheit) rattled branches and encouraged the older among the trees to groan in their own eerie melodies. A better evening could not have been asked for save the Highland cold, and tonight in particular seemed to gleam with a mysterious magic of a non-wizard origin.
Sprinkled about the environment lay trademarks of several better-known Hans Christian Andersen and Grimm Brothers fables. Within the courtyard fountain was a small recreation of Thumbelina being introduced to a repulsive toad groom. Opposing it on the far side a single large frog with a golden crown sitting on a lilypad sat with one of his "arms" extended as if to reach out and take a lady (or lad) by the hand for a tender kiss. Both of these floated freely in the water, bobbing here and there and guided by the current of the fountain water. Tangled upon the walls of the courtyard were thousands of blooming flowers mixed with sharp, prickly black thorns. Any self-respecting wandmaker would recognize a collection of well-trimmed blackthorn bushes off in one corner, though these appeared to have been grafted with a rose bush, for there was one red-blooming bush and one white-blooming bush. Not too far away from these was a pile of shoes, mostly leather and rough in make, but both a single "glass" shoe for a young woman barely glittered underneath its mundane fellows and a pair of bright red shoes stuck out like sore thumbs. High up in the tallest tree sat a stuffed plush golden goose in a nest that was angled so that all could see large golden eggs, the prize of most any kleptomaniac to be sure. Underneath a willow tree sat poised a collection of plaster swans, one of which was a small, downy, ugly grey fellow being embraced by one of the larger, more magnificent ones while a family of ducks watched on. Similarly, faux ravens looked down at both the scene below them and outwards towards the main congregation of the celebration with quiet eyes. If a student brushed close enough, it would magically animate, extend charcoal black wings, and have its eyes glow red with an accompanying "Caw, caw, caw!" emanating from it.
Fairy lights (glowing by the bioluminescent light of glow bugs) would offer an almost unnoticeable glow when compared to the light of the moon, their only purpose being to highlight the already bright and colorful bursts of spectrum that were found in the flowers and the leaves of the fall-blossoming plants. Tiny, real fairies, likely drawn in by the color and the ethereal nature of the environment fluttered about here and there, playing with the plush animals or perusing the nearby feast that was laid out. They giggled in a lightly buzzing tone, gesticulating and teasing with one another by pointing out the students that they thought to be less-dressed or less than impressive in their attire than themselves. Other fairies were more content to sit by the water fountain and meddle with the frogs thereon, whereas others flittered in the trees and danced in a way that caused loosened flower petals to be whisked into the air and produce a waltz of their own design.
Light, mystical music drifted through the air; not sourced by a band or instrument easily visible, but as if by ghostly, phantasmal, omnipresent nature, encouraging couples to dance freely in the central, clearing of the courtyard set aside for a dance floor. Already there were a few of the native ghosts of Hogwarts finding themselves at home in the company of the antique surroundings, as they whispered to one another about their lives and their deaths alike, with especial couples somberly drifting to and fro in a silent waltz among the living and evoking an accidental chill if one came too close to one with still-living flesh. The Grand Feast:ReducioThe warm orange glow of the setting sun cast upon the vicinity had set the courtyard in a picturesque far back in time. As if reliving an old painting from the renaissance or within one's imagination of fairytales brought to life. With the sun disappearing into the horizon and giving way to the shadows of Autumn's early evening, the bronze candelabras on tables and strings of starry fairy lights that hung across the walls of the courtyard would shed light throughout the event, albeit with an almost eerily flickers.
The tables around were dressed in dark linens, with a neat display of silver goblets and silverware set upon. At the further end of the courtyard stood a rather coniferous juniper tree with claw-like branches that cast its shadow on a long rustic mahogany table displaying a delicious array that was to be feasted on. A large brass pot of simmering savoury stew, an impressive platter of pudding and pies of the sort, and a deep bowl of a rich burgundy red beverage to serve with the many intricate goblets that cluttered the table. By the table was a wooden bucket swirling with apples bobbing on the surface, green, pink, red and yellow. Any hungry souls could help themselves to a share of food while it lasted.By Aurelia Notresvace
An eye drifting to the right of the celebration would observe a collection of ill-sprinkled Bernie Bott's Every Flavored Beans, which would lead to but one of the activities of the night...
On the left, a collection of pumpkins of all sizes, faux rabbits, squirrels, birds, and other small woodland creatures would guide anybody who was curious enough to investigate their trail to sights and experiences of the most magical degree...
The night was young, the moon was nearly full, the food and beverages were set. Mystery and trickery hung thick in the skies as an air of excitement, grandeur, and the remotest tingling of trepidation laid eerily present in the vicinity. The 2022 Fall Ball was now begun.

There would be no entrances to this doomed ball, but fortunately there would be a pair of exits; that of Bloom Silverton and Howard White. Both of them highly potioned-up, one of them highly inebriated by a dizzying draught, both of them would finally manage to stumble together and out of the party, leaving an enraged Serena Towers behind with a newly blossoming sense of paranoia caused by a particularly nasty potion effect.Dancers, Entrances/Exits, & Interactions
However, they would not leave without a final action; that of Howard White throwing a pie towards a random student, a certain unfortunate @Beatrice Dupont. With his aim honed from being a Quidditch player, Howard would have no issue hitting the poor girl [CP2, 27 Accuracy v. 19 Evasion] right in the back of the head with the pastry.
Howard White & Bloom Silverton EXIT the ball
Meanwhile, blissfully unaware of the chaos surrounding them, @Hannah Bloom and @Edward Edwards would continue to dance and enjoy one another's company. Even the ghosts about them cooed and marveled over the young pair, pointing them out to their fellows and tittering quietly. Others, however, found themselves attracted to the sight of a young redhead girl (Lily Brown) bleeding out surrounded by other students of her relative age. They could do nothing to help or distract, only be present as the ball's pleasantness frayed rapidly at the seams.
More potions seemed to fade as opposed to ignite this round, thank goodness.Apples & Goblets
Kim Sato Aoki (whichever one he preferred) and Violet Grace's Pompion Potions would cause their heads to shed the skins of their pumpkins piecemeal by piecemeal until it was just their normal heads that remained. Astoria Swann, on the other hand, still bore her pumpkin queen crown. It was rotting a bit, which likely implied that it would gradually vanish just like Kim's and Violet's, but for the time being, Miss Swann's head was still a lovely white and pimpled gourd.@Kim Sato: Pompion [d2 = 1 (1 round); Head is Pumpkin], Potion Effect Fades

@Howard White: Dizziness Draught (d3: 2 (-4 Accuracy)) Endures until nullified
@Howard White: Befuddlement Draught (Animosity towards everyone) Endures until nullified
@Serena Towers: Befuddlement Draught (Animosity towards everyone) Endures until nullified
@Amelia Miller: Sleeping Draught (d2: 2 [-2 Wisdom]) 2 rounds until unconsciousness unless nullified
Cielle's tongue finally loosened itself, and Bloom's calm would peter out as both of their potions would fade away.
However, four new effects would enter the field. Like unfortunate Illusia Bobisch, Amelia Miller would feel a yawn coming on as the first strains of a Drowsiness Draught began to set in. It seemed that she would have a minute or two before it would render her unconscious like Illusia just a few feet away, so she had a chance to make herself better... but only if she acted quickly as her concentration began to fade. Meanwhile Bloom garnered for herself an identical effect as Howard as her eyes appeared to enlarge like one of those animes where the eyes are too big for a normal skull to hold. At least she and Howard were a matching couple now. As for Serena and Howard's apple, as the Part-Goblin attempted to snatch the apple from the Dhampir Champion, both of them would feel a creeping sense of unease washing over them, an extreme paranoia beginning to settle over the both of them. This would likely heighten their rivalry so it was good that Bloom finally managed to drag Howard away from the situation before the verbal fighting could transform into fisticuffs galore.
With a throw and a splash, @Alec Mason threw a goblet upon his date @Pea Elena Fowl with the utmost distain only to have it suddenly revert into an owl and scratch the beautiful Part-Veela up. With rage befitting of her kind (though her scream was not quite that of her predecessors yet), Pea responded in a voice made of teeth. How to Break Up with a Part-Veela (2022, Colorized)
The incantation of a fire spell and the enormous fireball that it created [Wisdom 27; Critical Cast] would launch towards the boy that she considered no longer worth her time or her effort to present herself politely towards. In her own words "I am selfish and egotistical, but at least I'm not a weak, cowardly, and a liar, who only acted like a goodie two-shoe in front of everyone else!"
The enormous fireball (for only the first level of the fire charm) would explode towards Alec with all the rage of a Veela's progeny, and despite her impressive aim [TP9, Accuracy 21], Alec's natural agility [Evasive Maneuvers cancelling out CP; Evasion 25], the Gryffindor boy would just barely manage to evade the crackling fire, which would instead ignite the banquet table to silhouette the both of them in blessedly romantic fire. The Hogwarts tradition continues...
Having handed off the Quaffle to their former Keeper turned Beater, Romeo Marchonné was next up to attempt his three throws towards the hat of the Lord of Anarchy. Like any Seeker, Beaters had to prove their worth with their accuracy if they wanted to make their bone-crushing hits count with those iron bludgers. This, like Valentin, would force him to prove his salt as a member and co-captain of the Quidditch team. The Joust
His first throw, very much like Valentin's, would catch Johannes very off guard with an sudden jerk that made it almost seem like the tall Romeo had not even let the quaffle leave his hand until it had nearly reached Johannes' hat. The throw had knocked it off without a fight.
The second throw would be particularly more interesting for Romeo, as a hissing bolt of white energy suddenly peeled towards him in the air and attempted to displace him from his seat on the Firebolt. The boy would only just barely manage to evade the scarily close aim before just milliseconds before he tried to throw, and the results of such an attack were made obvious when the shot went entirely haywire. It was likely adrenaline, that cold fear that came with being attacked that had entirely disrupted his aim; in a typical game of Quidditch there was not usually any spellcasting with the intent to knock someone off their broom. Spellcasting on brooms was left for Broom Racing alone... so who or what had had the audacity to attempt sabotaging and potentially incurring harm upon the Durmstrang beater?
He would discover that very, very soon; for it was the result of an attack by a Real Girl.
Likely shaken from this last attempt, Romeo would continue with his last throw, once again quite easily displacing the had from Johannes' brow and causing it to tumble to the ground. It seemed that Valentin and Romeo were on the same level of their ability to joust and make their throws count; the two of them were now tied 2-2, no favor.

Poor @Lily Brown would collect a few more individuals who were willing to try and help her... but their assistances would be too few and too late, as the Real Girl made good on her final blow against the tender eleven year old Gryffindor girl.
With an unearthly hiss, the Real Girl plunged into the girl's side and sunk its teeth [TP6; Accuracy 15 v. Evasion 9] in up to the gums into her. Between searing pain that should not have affected her at an age so young and the subsequent lethal bleeding that it would induce [-270HP, Bleed 100] , Lily Brown would be unable to cling onto consciousness any longer; that beckoning black void would receive her tenderly and give her some respites to her pains. Not too many pains, however, for the girl was still BLEEDING OUT. If she did not receive help in stabilization or revival, there was a chance that the girl would bleed out and Hogwarts would potentially receive another child ghost in its ranks... Someone save her!@Lily Brown; you are unconscious and bleeding out. I leave your life in the hands of capable individuals, and will begin to roll death saving throws for you (Currently 0-0). Naturally, as this is your character and papertrails can be confusing if you do 'die', I have no permissive ability to 'kill' you; this is likely only for aesthetic purposes as I hope that others around you will be able to get you into a position of stability and get you to adult assistance as soon as humanly possible. Otherwise, Lear will likely get a new toy.
With this final collection of warm love, the last vestiges of the Real Girl's former form began to flake off, revealing the inner skin entirely. Somehow, the dress that Winnie Harper had dressed it with continued to cling to her in a respectable way, but the Real Girl that had once been bound within porcelain and machinations of a doll was now entirely free; rebirthed. She looked... horrifically like Lily Brown... If Lily Brown was covered in blood and had a palpable air of evil about her.
ReducioPicking the last of the glass shards off of her still-sticky red skin, the Real Girl rose from the body of her mama with her hands flared out in front of her; tipping her head as he observed the way her fingers now flexed with flesh and cartilage as opposed to glass joints and tight wires. She... she now even had two hands, the new one which she stared at childishly as she tested it with her original hand, watching how her fingers could bend horizontally with prodding and how they could bend backwards and forward with no effort. Glancing downwards with bright blue eyes at the body of her mama, she noticed a length of wood; a 13.8 inch, cherry and dragon heartstring wood. This she would take into her new Real hands, turning it once before she glanced outwards... and up.
She had the love of her mama, had been born of her, but now she needed the other half of the creation of life; a father. And there, overhead in the trees with a Quaffle in hand and with titian hair not terribly unlike her own, was a young strapping man only a few years older than her mama at most. He even bore blue eyes like the Real Girl's own. The Real Girl's eyes widened at this match; he was... perfect.
Cherry wood and dragon heartstring wands notoriously make a dangerous match in the right hand; they search for greatness in their users due to the ambitious nature of cherry potently combining with the raw power of dragon heartstring. Such a long wand carried with it a large personality... a personality that Real Girl now attempted to use in her favor as she cast a spell that many brand new first years learned quickly in their Defense Against the Dark Arts classes. "Flipendo." She chanted upwards towards the boy flying on an ebony black Firebolt, tracing a hooked checkmark in the air. With a blast of white light [Wisdom 18], the Girl giggled to herself as she continued to chant a this brand new word that she had learned. "Flipendo, Flipendo, Flipendo!" These subsequent chantings would have no impact on her as they were not accompanied by wand motions, but the primary bolt of white energy would streak towards the Durmstrang Beater at breakneak pace in an attempt to knock him from his seat on the broom and send him plummeting to the ground so that Real Girl could meet him face to face and inform him of her need for his paternal love.
The white energy flew for a boy named Romeo Marchonné while he was getting ready to perform a Quaffle throw towards one of his school buddies in the midst of their little makeshift joust tournament. Being built more for hand to hand combat's dealing out of heavy blows and receiving said heavy blows, he was not exceptionally evasive. Still, by some whimsy of luck [TP3, Accuracy 17 v. Evasion 18], the white energy only barely missed the muscularly-built boy and rocketed into the night skies like a wayward firework before gradually dissipating as it lost its arcane energies.
Grinning after her attempted feat of magic, the Real Girl became aware of two boys circling in on her as @Clair Fernandez cast the Wingardium Leviosa charm upon the body of the fallen Lily Brown [25 Wisdom], causing it to levitate above the ground and drip precious sanguine upon the ground. Such a sight, awful to others, may be beginning to trigger or at least heighten the senses of any Dhampirs in the vicinity; practically a feast ready to be consumed despite any moral argument they may have against such an act.
Poor poor @Simon Kincaid and @Colin McCoire, allies for the sake of this attempt to quash this Girl's murderous rampage; as Simon began to be inundated with the iron tang of fresh blood, Colin attempted to throw his cloak about the newly born Real Girl so that he could more safely take hold of her and grapple her down until adults better suited for this job could come and collect this dark entity for later analysis and likely studying of the darkness that crept in every crack of the magical school. With great will, Colin would attempt to recreate his previous luck of landing a hit on the girl, but though he would not entirely miss the girl [TP2, CP3; Accuracy 8 v. Evasion 24], his cloak would slip off of the bloody afterbirth-like substance, letting the Girl slip away from his hold with a teasing giggle of amusement. Simon Kincaid would fare no better, for he had been intending to help Colin hold the Girl down upon his ability to make contact with it. In lieu of this change of plans, he would attempt his own grab and grapple with her [TP10, CP6; Accuracy 8 v. Evasion 24], only to have the same fate befall him. His pale Dhampiric hands would be stained with red that smelled of the blood that he took medicinally to curb the cravings, sticky and slimy at once in a way that served as a sort of lubricant for the Girl to slip away once more and, giggling, make her way towards the tree that her Daddy was flying over.
As she began to depart, @Taisia Elidine Stroudefielde picked up a rock and threw it at the girl, only to have it clatter uselessly [TP4, CP4; Accuracy 8 v. Evasion 29] off to the side of the path that the Real Girl carved through the crowd [feel free to mention this blood-coverd Carrie-like girl walking among you on a singleminded mission; she will not speak to you, and her blue eyes will only flick to you once with a glare of warning as she keeps moving and averts her gaze back to straight ahead]. Brave @Taizu Miyashiro, a fellow Gryffindor to Lily, would also attempt to cast a spell on the Real Girl; a Knockback Jinx similar to what she had tried to execute upon the Durmstrang Beater. With a triumphant cast [15 Wisdom] and a brave aim, he too would be unable to stop the Girl where she strode [TP9, CP6; 21 Accuracy v. 30 Evasion], which caused the Girl to pirouette out of the way with gangly arms and a rather 'broken' stride. The way she walked was stiff jointed and awkward, as if she carried with her the traits of her doll form with her even if she was made of flesh and blood. Eventually, she stood right below the location of the Durmstrang joust.
The last two girls; @AngelFyre McCubbins and @Della Barfield would attempt to help in a different way. They were sending out an SOS to any adult who was around, to any student who was willing to assist the good fight. They would cast a pair of twin Periculums [Wisdoms 11 & 19, respectively], which would each split the skies with rockets of red visible all the way on the Grounds themselves. If these desperate casts did not summon any kind of helpful reinforcements, if help did not arrive in time...
What would happen to these poor students?
• | • || • | •
Now it was no longer just this Real Girl situation that was beginning to invoke problems across the ball... indeed something very strange would begin to happen to four individual partygoers with no particular rhyme or reason for it occurring.
@Faye Simmons, sitting with @Regina Miller, would feel a weight lifting from her possession oh so delicately, gently. If she tried to snatch at the faerietale crown, the crown [24 Critical Success v 6] would be quickly ripped away. As she perhaps tried to spin about and investigate... nothing would meet her eye. Whatever had just blatantly stolen from her had been quick and quiet. Not even Regina would have spotted anything out of the norm except for the fact that the crown that she had gifted her had been there one blink, and the next it was gone.
Faye would only be the first, for after her came @Jannette Applebottom the Scottish girl. The bitter wind of the night generally made it difficult to feel her numb ears in the cold, and the wind tended to blow quite hard even despite being in the walled location of Hogwarts' Courtyard. So, after a particularly nasty one which had almost felt like frozen hands nibbling at her ears [20 v. 13], she would try to warm them. Only, she would realize something was off. Her silver snake cuff earrings had mysteriously vanished. The perpetrator would be nowhere to be found.
After Jannette came @Rebecca Loops, Jannette's own comrade. Rebecca would feel a sharp tug at his neck, choking him only for a second [24 Critical Success v. 6] before the necklace gave with a 'pop!', causing the glittering bell upon it to jingle wildly before suddenly being dampened and silenced entirely. Though he would not take any damage from the event, he would realize that he had been stolen from! Surely the perpetrator had to be nearby!
Someone with a name as shiny as @Hunter Argentum would become the last victim of these attempted raids. He would feel something not unlike a soft baby's hand gently brushing the place where he kept his potions; potions that glowed and were usually kept in glass bottles for easy identification at what they were by color. With a start at this likely unwanted touching, Hunter would likely also knock away that 'hand' [12 v. 18] that had attempted to steal his orangish red potion of Fire Breathing. As he secured the potion, he would spot a ball of greyish fur on the body of a platypus-like creature. Was that... a Niffler?
Over this all, a certain few individuals would hear rattling and jingling, as if something was going through a heap of metal or glass. It made a quite spooky overtone, as if there was a ghost among the students with physical form... had Peeves decided to make a visit to their beautiful ball?

Reducio
Welcome to the 2022 Fall Ball Faerietale Endings. I hope you enjoy your stay. Just a few reminders and guidelines so that we can all enjoy our happy and/or tragic endings!
- Make sure your ducks are in a row when trying to perform an action! State when you are using an action and or an ability (so I can keep track of limits on the use of ability), name allies/enemies if required by an ability, state in your roleplay if you bring certain potions and items (organizing these as well as statistics and abilities in a reducio at the bottom of your post is helpful so that I can note them for ease of moderation, but you are not obligated to do so).
- To perform statistically related actions, you have to be registered in the Index and must have a Trunk with statistics and abilities.
- To cast spells, you have to have them in your trunk and must use the EXACT INCANTATION; failure to do so will result in an automatic critical failure on casting and a subsequent backfire!
- To use a potion, you must have the potion on your person (stated in IC roleplay) and have the potion on hand in your trunk (OOC). When using a potion as an action, you must send me the potion (so I can affirm in moderation that you have used it), and I in turn forward it to the Game Master account (as a papertrail).
- Any attempt made to perform more than one Action in a round (cast a spell, perform a statistical check, make an attack, imbibe a potion, etc.) results in an automatic failure of the second action and may be accompanied by a backfire/adverse effect. - In your post, state a performed action (so I can moderate you properly). If you change locations, state that you do so in your post as your action. Yes, it does take an action to leave the ball and move to another location.
- IC, this area is being watched over by @Piérre Marchonné & @Aurelia Notresvace.
- Follow rules of the site; no godmodding me, other players, etc. Keep it PG-13. Be polite. Etc.
- If you have any questions on actions or disputes on moderation rolls (I am human), feel free to contact me via owl or Discord (check Piérre's encyclopedia for the username).
Do try to enjoy yourselves...

NOTICE: This episode does involve quite a bit of blood and Colin's cousin is pretty close to dying. Not Tonight Love, I Have a HeadacheX
The monstrous doll was fast! Just as Colin shouted out his plan --- such as it was --- the dark thing bit deeply into poor Lily's belly! Her blood gushed from her side and bathed the gleeful doll in his cousin's blood! There was too little time to properly coordinate, but Colin noted how quick Simon was! Colin knew he was pretty fast and agile, but Simon looked he hardly moved at all and he was already somewhere else! What was up with that? But there was no time to think. Only act. Their leap had been good. His and Simon's.
Colin could feel his body leap, and make contact with the happy doll! It was so disgusting, the way the doll seemed to giggle and tease she escaped their trap! She slipped from Colin's now bloodied cloak! He tried to grasp for her, but her blood slicked skin --- warm skin, Colin noted! He fell to the ground and rolled to over once, landing on his belly not far from Clair. What was this thing? She pulled away from him and grabbed Lily's wand. He could hear her gibbering merrily as she danced about practicing her magic.
But Colin saw only Lily. He got up to his hands and knees. Clair had been able to levitate poor Lily off the cold ground. She was safe from the little monster and her arms and legs dangled in the air, moving slightly as Clair concentrated on her magic.
"Lily?" he said. Too quietly for anyone to hear him, really.
Colin reached out to touch his cousin's ravaged side. She was still bleeding. Her blood flowed over his hand --- if only he know how to stop it.
"LILY!!!" he shouted! "LILY! WAKE UP!"
Her skin was cool and clammy, but not really cold. His eyes pleaded to Clair to do something for her! Stay with her --- wrap her in his cloak --- keep her warm --- anything! Hopefully someone would get Nurse Frogge! Colin couldn't think --- he could only hold his hand before his face and watch as Lily's blood dripped from it.
The doll --- no, some place in Colin's mind understood that she was a real girl now. She had Lily's life in her. But she was most certainly not Lily. The Real Girl went off lurching through the crowd of students. Colin's nostrils flared as the scent of his cousin's blood entered them. He pressed his hand to his face. He could smell the iron of it, taste the residual warmth of it.
He stood abruptly. "LILY BROWN!!"
Colin poked Lily gently.
"LILY BROWN DON'T YOU DARE DIE ON ME!!"
His voice sounded harsh and his breathing was ragged. Colin's fists clenched and he began to shake uncontrollably.
He whispered: "Lily Brown --- don't you die on me."
He turned from Lily, but saw nothing. His eyes lost focus and his fists clenched so hard they shook. Tears began to stream from his eyes, and surely some older kids would think that the poor little baby boy would collapse into tears. Those were people who didn't know the McCoire boys. Colin's eyes focused on where the Real Girl was lurching through the crowd. His breathing slowed and a low growl rose up from deep within his body. Menacing. Would brook no restraint. His lips curled away from his teeth, revealing his fangs.
Time slowed for Colin and his body prepared to spring. NO ONE massed with Colin's friends and certainly NO ONE messed with kin. A vision of Liam leaping between him and the werewolves they were fighting last summer passed before his mind as he prepared. Colin knew what he must do. And just as suddenly, time sped up again and with a feral yowl Colin charged after the horrific Real Girl!

Moderated Action: Colin will chase Real Girl, leap onto her; he will try to knock her down onto her stomach and grab her hair into a mass so that he can secure her head; he'll try to bite her, punch her and bash her head and face onto the stones until (hopefully!) and adult can come along and deal with this properly! @Piérre Marchonné | @Aurelia NotresvaceInventory: Wand; miscellaneous bits of this and that in his pockets.

Clair was trying to keep her focus on the spell. For she feared that if she did not the poor little Lion would crash to the ground, facing tons of pain, in the best outcome.
She kept her gaze on Lily, she kept her brain focused on the spell. She could lower Lily down to the ground, but the problem was that the Real Girl might come back. Colin was off chasing the Real Girl again, so Clair figured that it would be safe to lower Lily to the ground, gently she lowered the girl to the ground.
As soon as Lily was back on the ground Clair tried to think of what she should do.
She knew people were willing to help, everyone had been trying to help it seemed.
"Can someone find the nurse?" She called. Yes, The nurse could fix this, he would be able to help Lily. He was a nurse after all. Not sure if anyone was going to find the nurse or not, Clair stayed by Lily. There had to be something that could help. Clair reached into the inside of her dress where a second layer -rather uselessly- sat. She tore at it with both hand, her wand back in it's holster.
Quickly she tore the whole inside layer of her dress into strips, which she then started to use as bandages in all the places which were bleeding the most. As the Blue cloth was wrapped over top of its self Clair tried in vain to stop the bleeding. Would a freezing charm work? No. She decided to let the nurse do the fancy stuff.

Fall Ball ~ 2022 ~ |

She watched Colin as he shouted at the girl to wake up. In a flash she remembered they were cousins, and this had to hurt. He ran off and pounced on the doll as Clair lowered Lily to the ground and sat beside her. Taisia was torn between what to do. She heard Clair’s cry for someone to bring over the nurse. She wasn’t very fast, but someone had to do it.
“Clair? Hi. I’m Taisia. I’ll go get the nurse. See if you can get the crowd away from her.” She left Clair with the hurried instructions, hoping that Lily would at least be able to hang on long enough.
She sprinted up to the castle, taking note of those having fun around her, clueless to the havoc caused by a doll down in the crowd below. She could barely make out the sight of Clair sitting next to Lily. Colin was no where to be seen and she hoped he would at least be able to hold off the doll before sustaining too many injuries.
Somehow there were no teachers around. Now at the doors to the castle, Taisia expected to just pull them open. She grabbed the handles and pulled before realising they were locked. Of course. She kept shaking them, hoping someone would come along from the inside or another student could use Alohomora.

AngelFyre looked around and was gratified to see that more people seemed to be clueing into the fact that a girl was being murdered in the middle of a celebration but no one seemed to be able to stop it. They were out of time. Both she and a girl she recalled from the Valentine's Tea Party, Della Barfield, had cast Periculum, but honest to God, where were the adults? Where was the help? If that emergency beacon call of a spell, 2x over no less, had not brought every professor at Hogwarts running, flying, or apparating to this spot, then AngelFyre knew nothing would.
Colin had barked out orders for Clair to separate Lily from the doll with a levitation casting which was pretty brilliant, but it came too late. The doll landed her last, and potentially fatal, bite into Lily's belly before Clair cast her spell. Then the blood and gore truly began to flow. She was aware the doll was transforming into a Lily look-a-like, but there were two more pressing matters on AngelFyre's mind.
Simon and Colin had made the best attempts possible at wrangling the real girl into their capes, and she knew if it could have been done, they were the two who could have done it. But Colin was out of his mind right now with guilt, fear for Lily's well being, revenge, and anger consuming him. AngelFyre feared for his safety as he was likely not to make the best choices in such a frenzied state. She understood what was driving him, but she was not about to lose him like they might lose Lily. Not while there was breath still in her.
As Clair gently lowered Lily back down to the ground, AngelFyre turned to Simon. She knew everything about this was testing his willpower right now, but she was about to ask even more of him. He was in the Hospital Wing's Internship program, so something on this scale was bound to cross his path at some point. She moved to his side and quickly grasped his hand.... squeezing it three times.
"There is no more time and help is not coming, Simon," she said while tilting her head in Lily and Clair's direction. "She is going to die soon unless...," and her voice trailed off just a little, both knowing what she was asking without having to put it into words and both knowing the undue burden and primal temptation Lily's copious amount of blood would present to him.
"Simon, we both know you are the only one here right now fast enough and strong enough to get her to the help she needs in the Hospital Wing. It is a lot to ask of you, love, I know it is, but you are her best hope right now. Will you... please?" Her eyes implored him, but she knew his heart. Of course he would. Saving Lily would trump any cravings her blood would offer in the way of a dhampir temptation.
Then she looked over at Clair and then looked back over her shoulder in the direction Colin had run off to, worry and determination written across her face. She then glanced again at Simon, mustering up a small smile for him. "I have to go after him. You know I do. I have to try and help him not get killed. Find me... find us.... when you can." And she rapidly started stepping away from him, still holding his hand until the distance forced their release, her fingers still reaching out towards him in the darkness.
"I love you, mo chridhe,"(my heart) and in a flash she had turned and was running after Colin, calling back over her shoulder to Clair.
"Clair, they went this way!"

The stream of red sparks coming from both Della and AngelFyre's wands was brilliant, lighting the whole courtyard. Yet the light went out an anticlimatic sputter. A few long moments passed, but no adults appeared. Isn't that what they'd been trained to do? Were no adults monitoring the ball at all?
Time sped up as the doll's victim fell to the ground; blood was pooling at an alarming rate. Della was no medical expert, but she could tell that now the situation was dire. The doll, on the other hand, began to look more and more like a real girl, a heinous visage covered in blood but a real girl nonetheless—in fact, it stole its victim's wand and began gleefully sending knockback jinxes into the crowd. Della instinctively ducked, pulling the hand of the Durmstrang girl with her, hoping the girl would duck with her.
Colin moved to viciously collide with the doll and other students were approaching, looking to help. One ran to the doors—yes! let's find an adult!—but the doors were locked. How? Why? They were all trapped out here with this thing?
Della turned to Astrid, "I'm going to try to get the doors to the castle open!" She didn't like the thought of leaving her new friend in the midst of this crisis, but getting inside, and getting the bleeding girl to the hospital wing seemed to be of the utmost importance. Besides, Astrid seemed calm and fully able to care to for herself. She might even follow Della to the door.
Flying through the crowd, as best as her dress allowed, Della found the first-year near the door. "Allow me! Alohomora!"
Action: trying to unlock the castle doors with Alohomora

Quentin was late to the ball. He couldn't convince any of his Beauxbatons friends to attend Hogwarts this year for the Hexiwizard tournament. So he was a loner in Scotland again. He wasn't sure what kept bringing him back—Hogwarts just had that je ne sais quoi. Cliché, right? Maybe, because in his heart, he was always partly in Louisiana and partly in Paris, he relished in traveling and meeting people different from him. Maybe it was that Hogwarts never failed to produce an interesting tale to take home with him. He knew his closest friends weren't as adventurous as he was, but he sure did miss them on nights like this.
He was walking around Hogwarts's grounds, working up the courage to step into the courtyard. Dances were a little more outside of his wheelhouse compared to the clear-cut rules of a sport or a game. But maybe he could make a Hogwarts friend, someone to look forward to seeing when the schools inevitably crossed paths again.
So Quentin entered the courtyard, feeling a bit warmer now that he had some walls protecting him from the crisp outside air—and there was a sea of stylish students creating a wave of body heat. Not seeing anyone he recognized, he made his way to the snack table, casually grabbing an apple and observing the crowd. If he had entered only a few moments before he would have seen the dance floor light up with red sparks, and would have known that there was some kind of distress reverberating through the crowd. But he didn't. And he was now concentrating on his growling stomach.
