I really don't think I would have ever thought about me having it if I didn't meet one of my closest friends, as I thought it was normal what I was doing. So she suspected it, I brushed it off when I got tiktok I got the ADHD tiktoks on my fyp. And was like dang im relating to a lot of these, so I looked it up. More stuff started to click haha and now I'm waiting... Again I want to get tested sooner then later might already be later as well as the fact that I here's its harder to tell in girls. I had a math teacher who has ADHD and she was tested and diagnosed late in life and she always told us how she wished she got tested sooner. (This was also one of the pushes I needed to bring it up to my parents)Rita Su wrote: 28 Nov 2022, 05:31Yeah, it is definitely better to get tested and diagnosed earlier, as you know what is going wrong. What differs ADHD sufferers from normally disruptive children is that the symptoms need to be serious enough that is seriously affected themselves and those around them and those negative effects need to continue for at least 6 months to classify as "disorder" (some people don`t like the word disorder since they think being inattentive and hyperactive is just a special condition and is not always bad. ADHD sufferers clearly struggle in their lives, but they can also be super creative and expressive, and be super attentive with the things they are super obsessed about (so called mind-flow state), so there are terms like "the powers of being hyperactive".)André Lebedev wrote: 28 Nov 2022, 05:17 Forgive me for just jumping into the conversation but I would like to share my thoughts.
I would like to get tested for ADHD, as I have been told by many people in my like that have been tested for ADHD that I probably have it. After doing a lot of research via tiktok and various websites. As well as talking to people I came to the conclusion that I show many symptoms and would like to get tested so I can know. When I brought this up to my parents they told me that almost everyone shows some of the symptoms, but we can bring it up at my next doctors appointment. I still haven't gotten tested as I have yet to see my doctor. But I believe this might also play part in getting tested with ADHD and other things, with people not seeing they symptoms and not knowing how to get tested.
I think if I was not diagnosed with ADHD at a very young age (approximately at age 4 or 5), and used meds as well as other non-medical interventions, I may not live a normal life like a neurotypical high school senior at this point of my life.![]()
I don't think they want me to get tested, they told me so you get tested? Then what. I did have a response for it so I just told them then we know and I can rest easier XD if I have it then nice things make sense and I can get some help with focusing on things from people who have it. And if I don't I look for ways too help. I really want to know if its ADHD or something else, or nothing at all. Lol
I might go and look more stuff up like how to get tested and what the test looks like.

I think based on my own experience; you can go the psychology department of hospitals cos there are experts there who would operate a series of tests to fully diagnose, such as a self-report test done by parents that include questions like How often do your children be unfocused in class that results in a value in different areas such as inattentiveness, hyperactivity, impulsiveness and things like that. There are also intelligence and attention span tests done by children themselves, as well as brain scanning. It takes a while to fully diagnose. I don`t know if the things are similar in your areas, but if I were you, I would definitely go to the psychology department or go to see a therapist.André Lebedev wrote: 28 Nov 2022, 05:44I really don't think I would have ever thought about me having it if I didn't meet one of my closest friends, as I thought it was normal what I was doing. No problem! I am glad my own experience as a neurodivergent children can help you! There are currently 3-5% of people suffering from ADHD, and it is a highly misunderstood mental disorder, so we should definitely raise some awareness of it! By the way, I know that @Aurelia Notresvace also suffers from ADHD and is the founder of the OOC ADHD: cup of coffee club, so maybe you can ask Auri for more suggestions!André Lebedev wrote: 28 Nov 2022, 06:01Oh!!!
