Quoting is easy! Just click the quotation mark button in the upper right of the person's message you want to quote!
I suspect you've got a bajillion questions. I always recommend new members sign up for a mentor. They're older students whose job is to guide new kids. You can also owl me (as you already did) if you have any questions in the mean time.

If it's something you do, then by all means continue! Otherwise, you might consider editing it. The reason why I say that is because the quoting system is very finicky.
