It wasn't working. Nothing was working. She was shaking Kim vigorously, but he wasn't waking up.
Sophia was beginning to regret not taking first aid classes as a muggle, but she'd been a kid at the time - well, more of a kid than she was now - so it wasn't like it was irresponsibility on her part. Still, she resolved to at least do some research into this sort of thing when she first had time to go the library.
That didn't help much in the moment.
As her mind was so affixed on her best friend, Sophia didn't notice the hand that roughly gripped her arm until it was too late. As she reluctantly turned to face Regina, it was a different Regina than she'd ever seen before.
No longer was she the heroic savior who'd prevented a terrible accident. Now, she was glaring at Sophia with a look that would freeze magma. As her pulse quickened and her mouth swallowed nervously of its own accord, she stepped back from Kim with trembling lips and a fearful look in Regina's direction.
Hopefully the older girl would know what to do, because Sophia sure didn't. And she most certainly did not want to exist under that glare ever again. Part of her wondered if this was how Regina's duelling opponents felt when she attacked them, but that thought was quickly squashed and she shuffled a few more feet away to get some distance and turned her attention back to Kim.
To her immense surprise, instead of, say, a healing spell, or some weird custom potion or something, Regina instead opted to use the tickling charm on Kim. Before Sophia could try to build the courage to ask what on God's green earth the Gryffindor was doing, Kim finally began to stir, and then to laugh.
Sophia sighed in relief as he collapsed against the window, probably exhausted. Turning her attention at last to the squeaking little cutie bouncing about nearby, she scooped Puffie up into her hands.
"Yeah, I was worried too," she said to the pygmy puff, giving him a few tiny scratches and petting him softly. She eyed Regina warily before noticing something.
"Huh. Where's Gem gone to?"

【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】Gem stood just out of the compartment's sight line, bunching her fingers in her skirt.
Should she go in? Would they even let her stay after what she'd done?
At least poor Misto was in more capable hands now. Gem had hurried down the hallway trying to find Cath, but quickly realized that she had no idea what compartment her sister was in. But she had spotted Colin, who was with a fellow Ravenclaw, Clair, and an unfamiliar girl. She'd all but blubbered the situation to them, being quite shaken up at that point.
She really owed them one after that. Luckily they had been kind enough to let Misto ride with them for the rest of the voyage, but she still felt terrible for dumping her problem onto them.
Gem sucked in a deep breath and wiped her eyes one last time, before sliding the door open.
"Hey. I'm back." she murmured, carefully sitting down again. "Cat's with...uh, Colin. So that's taken care of." She gave the newly revived Kim a watery smile.
"I'm glad you're all right, Kim. I'm terribly sorry about what happened. I didn't know you were allergic to cats." Gem bit her lip and cast her eyes downward. "I should have checked beforehand. I'm really sorry."
She hoped no one would bring up how shaky and hoarse her voice sounded. Though, as she looked back up, Sophia's eyes looked a bit red. Had she been crying too?
Well at least Gem had gotten most of the tears out in the train bathroom. She was just content to have a stress free trip now. She reached for her snack bag and pulled out a piece of white rabbit candy.
"Here," she said, passing the bag to Sophia. "You all can have some, if you want."
Gem cleared her throat and unwrapped the candy. She placed it onto her tongue, and began to feel a little better. The taste was comfortingly familiar, and as the rice paper melted in her mouth, she sat up straight and leaned forwards.
"So, um, have you lot seen the new first years yet? Colin and Clair are riding with this girl-- well, she was getting ready to leave when I was there-- but I think she might be one. I didn't get her name, but she seemed sweet."【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】★【☆】

Although Regina's face remained emotionless, there was the tiniest flicker of relief in her orchid eyes when Kim finally awoke from his unconsciousness. A surge of pride soon replaced it with the acknowledgement of how her impeccable spell-work was able to help her friend. Call her arrogant for it, but Regina had singlehandedly fixed the situation without breaking a sweat.
"Take it easy, Kiki," She placed her hand on the boy's shoulder to steady him after tucking her wand away, Athena hooting encouragingly from her cage. The older teen then shifted her attention to Sable who had returned, offending feline taken care of and out of sight.
So, it appeared they were acquainted with @Colin McCoire. The only impression Regina had of the eccentric boy was an unpleasant one, what with how he'd vaulted over a table to get up close and personal in her face last June. A short, harsh breath escaped her nose condescendingly at the thought. If his family wasn't incredibly well-known in the Pureblood community, Regina wouldn't have been merciful enough to let him go scot-free after challenging her.
The Gryffindor declined the offer of sweets, leaned back against her seat and crossed her arms after flicking her raven curls off one shoulder as Sable began to talk about meeting first-years.
"I do not particularly socialise with strangers. What would I want to do with a bumbling, awkward new student who cannot even navigate the halls of Hogwarts?"
Regina had plans. Big plans, this year, and she'd rather not be turned into some sort of guide or mentor for a kid who couldn't cast a single spell, thank you very much.

Resting comfortably against Sophia, Puffie looked up at the girl and gave her a normal squeak. After Kim had recovered, he checked the time and discovered if he hadn't woken up just then he'd have been late. Earlier, he'd made plans with his new friend, Elsian. Certain secret plans. It was almost time to put them into play and to meet up with him. But he needed an excuse. The best one was already laid out for him and he glanced over at Sophia. "Mind if you take care of Puffie for a bit? I need to go take an allergy pill just in case." Kim said, looking at her. With that done, the boy grabbed his enchanted satchel, gave a nod to Regina, and then headed for the entrance. Only to almost bump into Precious who had come back to the compartment again. As she apologized to him, Kim shook his head a little. "It's alright. I didn't think to tell you because you never had a cat before and I didn't know you'd get one. I thought you'd get an owl to be honest, so didn't think I'd need to mention it." He told her. "I'll be back in a bit." Kim said and then was gone. The boy had some plans for this new semester. Elsian and him would start the new year off with a blast! Literally. It would be a sight to see and he couldn't wait to see how things would turn out in the end. ────────────────────── ㅤ ㅤ──────────────────────
