But yeah. My family has a pretty deep history of illness so I was kind of waiting for it, but I didn't know when it would come (my aunt got sick at 54) or how bad it would be.

At 18, I was very physically active and working hard and about to go to college.

Life is really unpredictable, but I'm really thankful for my life.

I developed a thyroid autoimmune disease (which is heavily hereditary on my dad's side), then had two pregnancies too close together (first planned, the second not), and then narcolepsy.

My body is attacking itself and I am permanently sleep deprived.

I'm sorry you feel down the stairs. T~T That must have been awful to deal with over all.

Alright, I don`t think there is any history of illnesses in my family. My parents are nearly 50, but they are still quite healthy, and my dad often takes me out for sports. I am sorry to hear that both of you are suffering from some physical issues and let me see what will happen to me in 10 or 20 years.

Ah yeah, same with me. I was physically active from age 10+ all the way up until I turned 32-ish. Whenever it was that I got my nerve damage in my knee... it's been so long I forgot when!

Ah lovely, my 'sister' IRL has a thyroid thing, I forget what it's called but it's similar to yours I think but not as bad as yours is. Ah there's a condition if you have 2 pregnancies too close together? And oh dear, you poor thing. I hope maybe sometime in the future you'll be able to get something that makes you feel better or helps your conditions!

I've fallen down the stairs around 3 times so far and fallen up the stairs once...

The first time when I did so and got my nerve condition, I was going down the stairs and my cat was on the right hand side of the stairs. So I went down the left side and as I was stepping down, my cat got up and darted to the left side and got under my foot and I slid down the stairs. was perfectly fine. I was not...

i'm only 12 and have some mild arthritis in my fingers and back 0.o wonder what will happen to me when i'm ancient like EmmaLee and Kim- that was a joke btw lol

true however, things like back problems, bad teeth (i already have :{ ) etc run in my family, so its gonna be inevitable that i have a couple problems in the future-

I have what's called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. The other one is called Grave's Disease. Your thyroid regulates a lot of hormone production and distribution.

It's not really a condition, but when your body is already attacking itself and you have two pregnancies within 5 months of each other (had my daughter in October then was pregnant with my son by February), it kind of wrecks your whole system.

My hormones bottomed out and I ended up in the hospital for a week after son was born. The close pregnancies exacerbated my already existing condition.

Most drs advise healthy mothers to wait 18 months between pregnancies and we were going to wait that long but birth control failed.

I take two medicines that really help the thyroiditis and narcolepsy, but they don't bring me back to 100%

My dad takes meds for his Thyroiditis and he is more or less as active as any other 65 year old man. It is kind of.... random I guess in how bad it is. One of my aunts has it as bad as me, but my other aunt and her daughter take their medicine and they're fine.

Ugh. Cats. XD Man, I'm so sorry that happened to you and was so damaging. I'm regularly afraid of falling down stairs. Did the other two times make everything worse?

me and my mom have definitely had some sibling-like fights over use of the heating pad XD

I used to have great teeth back when I was a kid and young adult.
When I got to be around 30 though my teeth went to <insert curse word here>...
Sigh.

Wait until you have to get a root canal...
The procedure isn't bad at all since you feel nothing with the numbness.

But after you get the temp crown it feels odd.
Plus, when I press down on the tooth it hurts and when I brush it it hurts.
And I can't bite down at all.
However, I read that temp crowns are usually like that.

So I'm hoping the permanent one is better.
That's happening on the 22nd.

Ah yes, tooth surgery. I've had about three surgeries on my teeth already i think? It's not really how much i take care of them, bc i feel like it's more genetic, but yeah. i've had 3....abscess? absess? abcess? whatever XD teeth, they suck and they arent going anywhere till i get the surgeries to get the teeth pulled- as if i dont get teased enough in middle school lol

I have trauma when it comes to dentists...
And my teeth are extremely sensitive.
I think that we should have 3 sets of teeth in our entire life...
