Beyond the eager greeting, the rest of this tent would be comprised of enemies and irrelevants, how fitting. Winnie's weird little friend was in the same tent, a long summer of likely screeching, snarky comments the duration of the summertide holiday. "Probably," Mathias smirked, "a happy Winnie won't listen to your paranoia and slander." That was the tone, the lie. That Aurora was a paranoid, potentially mentally ill but probably well-meaning friend. There was the distinct possibility that she was simply jealous, he was not aware of her romantic dealings with Nick and if he was he would have congratulated her on her impending lumberjack nuptials.

Of course this was merely an intermission before the events which would shape and change their very lives would take hold. Events that even Pride was not fully cognizant of as he believed this to be a rivalry that he planned on twisting for his own ends like everything else in his life., Nothing was truly an obstacle, but rather an opportunity.

"We are going to have a nice summer for once," he lied. He had no intention of -we- an in the collective pronoun which included everyone in the tent. HE was going to have a good time, a in the royal 'we' perhaps or if they are sick enough (like young Giddy as they will likely quickly learn) maybe they will be entertained.

"Play a few games," he already signed up. "Watch a few others," there were several international sports events planned for the summer and he was an avid fan. "Maybe get into some trouble," he shrugged. There was always trouble when wizarding youth was involved.

"I mean some of you are probably muggleborns, maybe you can show off some of your muggle artifacts," they always had some of the strangest items. But of course there was always more than a friendly passive offer. But more on that later.

He would peel himself away from Winnie eventually, not that he was running off. He somewhat tolerated his clingy pterodactyl and preferred her there to not.

What was she planning?

Darling, let's make it through admission. A bit of a recap here for those that were not paying attention. Marion was a hag. Well, more accurately she is a hag, but she was not always a hag. Hags are not born, they are made so there was a time when she was human. A time before the change that transformed her into this abomination, yet on first glance she seemed rather pretty. Weren't hags supposed to be crooked old crones with rotted teeth and hooked noses? In most cases yes, but what few ever considered was the 'why.'

So why was it that hags looked the way that they did? Maybe they were just old. well, that explains some of it most certainly, but not all of it. Those that knew Erin Ryan and witnessed her near-transformation saw something that was barely human, something that was wrong not just because she was aberrant in her manner or her dress but in her posture, her gait, her rambling, blathering madness. She never shared those symptoms. So what was the difference between the two?

Well, the difference came down the the base of the woman being changed. Erin was always troubled, always angry and above all else paranoid. It was her failings and fragility amplified that made her such a stand out, of course the not everything thinks the world is out to get them. not everyone sees faces in the rain, shadows in the flame and hears voices in the wind. Some people are simply not mad. Are more capable of this change, not prone to violence and hysteria. Some people had other vices and their change was given as much notice as one might give a passing stranger that was not dressed for the weather. Certainly she was 'off' but there were plenty of excuses to explain her change, the curse, the treatment, the cure, whatever Vladimir had done for them, to them. People were looking in the wrong direction always, at the wealthy aristocrat's son, the obvious villain.

The pity was, she did not intend to kill him. She needed him, her own personal, blathering bond servant. Men were easy to come by. She had already gotten hold of Jürgen, no the summer was about something else entirely. "This is going to be a long holiday," she commented. The assortment of residents in this tent screamed calamity. A jolly good time in any hag's book.

Of course what she was up to was not going to be obvious. During these daytime hours she was normal, friendly even cordial. She was going to stick near Hess, an unknowing buffer between her and suspicion. "I baked some cookies," she claimed. Cookies in muggle Tupperware that she retrieved from the confines of her belongings which seemed rather usual. She was a muggleborn, bringing cookies... how quaint. She would peel off the lid, revealing two basic cookies -- a white chip macadamia and chocolate chip. "It is not like wizards have to care too much about calories," not with a potion to fix this, change that, make something or someone big or small. It was no wonder that the average wizard was at least baseline attractive.
Note: Unless interfaced with, she really wont be saying or doing much during daytime hours.

"It's not going to be a long summer," Giddy chimed in after he got his bearings. A different setting, a different scenario than what he was used to these past several months in exile for his brother's ambition. Not that he really cared, they were even easier to bother in Mahotokoro and their horror tropes were fuuun. "My brother's rash is almost better," he announced. "It might not even be contagious anymore," he smiled broadly as he opened up his trunk and withdrew several stuffed animals. A large, flaccid stuffed bear laid on top of the pile which had a lion, a rabbit and a lamb. yes, Giddy never slept alone.

This was going to be a good time as far as he was concerned. So many new playmates. He just needed to start a game. And so he would, with George Henry. Not that he knew George, perhaps he recognized his face from Hufflepuff during the first half of last year. Maybe George just had the sort of face that would attract people like Gideon. Yes, people -like- him, affable, adorable and wizardly. He wondered how long it would take to make his new friend cry. Giddy pulled out a small bottle of cherry colored fluid that had the phrase Sani handz written along the side in pen and rubbed his hands together before he extended a hand and gave the ultimate greeting, "Hai, I am Giddy... want to be friends" His voice was young, perhaps even too young to belong to a twelve year old. His smile broad and his eyes wide, almost innocent seeming to anyone that was unfamiliar with his bloodline or with the boy in question.

Let's start with something simple and build from there...

The younger brother of her boyfriend went ignored. The only thing that mattered right now was that she was finally with her Matt again. She had missed his bony frame, the kind that felt like someone had just thrown clothing on a model skeleton, like muggle science teachers often did during holidays.

She was strong enough for the both of them anyway. "Hi." She replied with a soft giggle. "Sorry, it’s hard to resist; it’s been months." She shifted to free the poor boy from her grip, sharing the chair with her boyfriend instead. He would not escape her grip, however; her arms would try to wrap around his frame. "Just being here is giving me so much energy... Maybe someday I’ll be able to play professionally."

"He’s joking." Winnie assured Aurora, still painfully unaware of what had transpired during their picnic a year ago. "I think if you give each other a chance, you’ll find the opportunity for a friendship! Besides, if you can’t learn to get along, how will we go on double dates?" She reminded her roommate, the words accompanied by a playful wink. Truthfully, she did not know how Mathias and Nicholas would get along, but that didn’t stop her from dreaming about a sweet picnic the four of them could have.

"Ohhh! That sounds fun... Maybe we could prank some of the other tents." She could picture how they would overflow with flowers now. "Muggle... Like my wardrobe?" Yes, she was still hanging on to that statement months later. Her boyfriend had practically told her he hated her wardrobe! ... Maybe not in so many words, but still.

"O-Oh hello! I've heard of you as well." It was kind of awkward to meet your brother's best friend this way. Wait, a legend? What exactly had Jack said about her?! "Hopefully between the two of us, it will be easier to keep Jack in check this summer." She joked.

She was reluctant to let Matt go, but was reminded of the trunk she had left in the middle of the tent. Hopping back onto her feet, she retrieved her luggage and dragged it towards the bed nearest to Matt. Hopefully, he was ready to see Winnie’s morning hair. Until then, she made quick work of unpacking her broom, a medium sized fox plushie, and some of her books. A smile curved onto her lips when she found her present for Matt. Erm, perhaps less of a present and more of a reason to remember her when they were apart. It was a photo booklet containing a few select pictures of them together. Presumably taken during events like the fall ball. At the end was a photo of her in her Quidditch Uniform holding her broom, taken when the team had done a team photo. 'MATTIE, I miss you! Love YOUR GIRLFRIEND, WINNIE.' Was written in pink ink beneath the photo. She placed in on Matt's bed so he could be horrified surprised later on.

It was going to be a long summer with Pride sharing the same tent, she wondered how many strings their uncle had to pull to ensure that they would be sharing quarters. He had his doubts that this choice was driven by sentiment, their family and their uncle in particular was a pragmatic man and with the eve of his next political move synchronizing with the Hexwizard Tournament, he was suspicious.

He would be on edge the entire season he reasoned and he did not bother to unpack his wares. He preferred to keep all he owned inside a locked box. To investigate the bed he had placed his trunk next to. He ran his fingers over the sheets, lifted the blankets and with extreme care flipped the mattress over. he was not entirely sure of what he was looking for but he was certain he would know when he found it. And he would find nothing, not yet but on other days he would. He might not ultimately know for certain who left it, but more often than not dead vermin of varied sorts although in some cases he would find them still living, leaving him to wonder what caused the dead ones to... die. Those nights would be his more sleepless ones. Needles in his pillow, that one time. There was a sadist in the tent and it was not him.

"JÜGEN!" A familiar voice would cry out, leaving the former Gryffindor feeling deflated. he should have been happy to see his friend and in some ways he was. Galton was a good person, perhaps 'too good' and that was the problem sometimes. There were some people that were not worth saving. There were times where you do have to look out for yourself and what is yours.

"G-galton?" He stammered, the coincidence unnerving. he would be assailed by an adhesive hug, the sort of hug that also left souvenirs in the form of sticky patches. Conflicted in more ways than one, there was relief in a selfish way knowing that he could turn his back on Galton and not suffer for it. There was also concern, fear and shame that weighed down this meeting as he gave Galton a smile but the expression did not reach his eyes as fell victim to a Galton greeting.

"Meenauh said I wouldn't believe who we had in this tent. She was right! How dandy, a whole summer together."

"Meenauh?" Who was that? He would look past the teen, over his head assuming that the growth spurts he was having at regular intervals that left the half-Asian youth a little over six foot of skin and bone gave him a clear view of his surroundings before his sticky fingers relinquished their grip.

"I'm Galton Lansdale, if you didn't know. And that's my mighty dueling partner!" Meenauh perhaps. He looked in the direction of the gesture, pretty girl with wavy brown hair and nice skin. How did he score that? He knew that Galton did not have money. Well, he did play sports if dueling counted, not that he would ever admit that it was not a real sport.

"I should have wrote," he chuckled nervously. "Been a bad year," not that he needed to explain that. The fight at the dance where he tried to kill his second-cousin was only a small portion of the disastrous fall he had experienced. While he was not successful in his endeavor, his cousin Pride was able to ensure the demise of another cousin. Hypocritical perhaps, but he resented Pride for his successes. Did that make Hess a monster in his own way? Quite possibly.

Their respective families thrust them from the school immediately after Vladimir died and sent them to the four corners of the wizarding world. He could be thankful that he was not sent to Mahoutokoro. "Your girlfriend is ridiculously pretty," he admitted shamelessly as he extended his hand towards Meenauh. "Call me jealous or Jürgen... Jürgen Hess," he claimed. "A-and I am sure you already know my girlfr-- my female fr-- My friend." Yes, friend. "Marion Davenport, I think she still goes to school with you." She was in Slytherin and always kept to herself so it was no shock if she was an unknown.

Meenauh and Galton entered the tent together. How was that for an odd couple? He had done his best not to react to the make out session he had seemingly interrupted with his own entrance, but if he had to put up with Meenauh and Galton kissing, he would rather sleep outside. Galton himself seemed like an interesting tent mate, at least, as long as he kept those sticky hands to himself. "Hello, Galton Lansdale," George said, with a nod.

Mathias' comment on showing off muggle artifacts earned a suspicious look from George. He glanced down at himself, feeling a bit embarrassed that he'd given himself away at first glance. "Didn't bring any," he lamented. Were wizards so easily entertained by muggle things? He didn't understand the interest in it, though he did wish he had a rubber duck or something to toss at Pride.

He pointed to Marion as she brought out her cookies. "Look, there's an artifact for you. Tupperware. Keeps your cookies good," George said. Built Muggle tough. George did not rightly know what the wizarding alternative to tupperware was - jars? Most cookies he had were baked fresh by a legion of loyal house elves in the Hogwarts kitchens, or his mom, and in neither case did the cookies last longer than a night.

"I hope it's a long summer," he said, with a little smile to Giddy. He could definitely use the break from his schoolwork, although camp was not a break from school drama. In fact, it made it way worse. In his head, he was comparing Gideon to Jake - though this one did seem more visibly posh than his own baby badger brother, they both had an expansive stuffed animal collection.

But then he mentioned his brother's rash. And when he finally did offer his introduction and ask to be friends, George reached out hesitantly. Obviously, this kid was different than Jake. Like, in the brain. There was something wrong with him. But George accepted the differences readily, giving Gideon a hearty handshake before returning his hands to his sides.

"Sure. I could use some," he admitted. His friend situation had been a little desperate this year. Winnie was next on the list of friends to make, coming highly recommended by their mutual friend Jack. He couldn't help but snicker at her comment about Jack as well. "I'll try my best. I'm his captain now - if he acts up, I'll pull rank on 'im. It's good to meet you!"

Winnie's move to get her trunk and unpacked prompted him to do the same. He hadn't had time to sort out his luggage and get rid of the chaff, so one of the first things to come out was Bully - a small stuffed bull - which he had almost forgot was in there. He lifted the little animal up to show Gideon. "I've got one too!" He said, smiling as he set the little animal down and began to unpack properly.

Gideon was pretty good at the cute, young kid act. Something that had done him well in years past. Now he was on the cusp of his second year and soon adolescence would strike and like his slenderman-like cousins and brothers, he would grow tall and lanky with gangly, long, thin and awkward limbs. Many erred to believe that height was an advantage, there was of course reach and a sort of intimidation that came with size, however most failed to consider the advantage to being underestimated. To being trusted by the shear virtue that you were small, young, assumedly naïve and of course weak.

So he dressed like his mother dressed him because she assuredly did. He carried with him evidence of his childish innocence and festooned his bed with 'necessary' accompaniments. His voice not yet cracked, deepened by the curse of puberty. When the changes came and he knew they would, things would have to change inside of him. Woe those that know him on such a day.

"Rank?" Gideon repeated with feigned interest. Not that he knew who Jack was or had any interest in the dynamics of their relationship as of this time. "What sort of sport are you captain of?" Assuming it was a sport, either that or a pirate ship if they were keeping to theme this summer the youth reasoned. He was not a fan of any sport in particular, there were too many precautions and rules for his taste Although that was not what he said. "I have never played any sports, mother thinks sports are far too dangerous... brutal even," he admitted almost sweetly. "You must be super brave," he added in false reverent awe of the probable upper classman.

He would pause for a moment, let whatever chatter between those that knew one another to take place naturally. That was how this was done. "I want to hear all the best stories, just not the scary ones," he added quickly. Compliments were generally endearing.

He stopped talking and simply stared at George after he said that. "You--" he pointed at the air underneath his own eyes with an extended index finger. "What is that you got on your face Mister? It is like someone smeared a booger across your eyes." He crinkled his nose and flicked his wrist in George's direction as if to point out the general location of the filth that he had been walking around with for who-knows-how-long.

Entering the tent with @Galton Lansdale
The outer force practically pushed Meenauh into the tent. She failed to recognise it on time — whether it was Galton, or they charmed the tent to push people inside once you'd spend too much time at the entrance.

As soon as she found herself in the tent, the eyes scanned. Check. Check. Check. The full party seemed to arrive already and a quick overlook displayed it was just Jack who was missing. The sense of danger filled the air as her eyes locked on the not-blonde-anymore sixth year rumoured-to-be-hag Slytherin. The hag was offering cookies around. Classic. Of course, cookies to put them all to sleep and then feed on their slowly breathing bodies. She skeptically smiled.

"Accio, coo-", she started to whisper and prepared to snap her fingers, but an unexpected shout cut the tent's strained air and it came from Galton. If she'd hold a wand at that moment, she'd either drop it or the spell would backfire for sure, throwing away all her double perfectness.

The eyes quickly switched to Galton's victim — the same-year lion she knew, of course. Despite, not being there in person, her friends described the whole mess in precise details. She noted she didn't see him at school for quite a while, but as she wasn't at school for half a year, she shrugged the useless conclusions off. She remembered him in classes last year, but remembered no class together this y... whatever, really.

She attentively watched him as Galton was smothering the life out of him. She attentively listened to him as Galton was allowing him to continue breathing. So, he was gone for quite a while, okay.

She made a step forward and almost stepped on Galton's dropped satchel, which she immediately attempted to levitate to a proper place, but this time she even failed to start the incantation as Galton's ringing voice announced their arrival to the room, explicitly introducing her as his mighty duelling partner. She prepared for the unwanted attention, but gladly not much of it reached her. She just awkwardly smiled to @George Henry and sort of waved with her palm to anyone actually paying attention to their entrance.
Interacting with @Jürgen Hess and @Galton Lansdale
The word 'girlfriend' locked her attention back on the boy, which resulted into an eye-roll just a second after he pronounced it.

"Jürgen Hess", she said in unison with the boy, "Yes, I know who you are, you may skip the introduction," she added in a rude way, half-meaning it. There was no need to react to the girlfriend topic at all and best to pretend nothing like that could exist in any of the universes. So, the boy switched to introducing no other but the girl with the cookies.

She said nothing out loud to Marion's introduction and simply nodded to let him know she wasn't an unknown.

"What rash twerp!" Mathias shouted at the former Hufflepuff indignantly. "There is no rash, I swear," he claimed although he would lager wonder why he was bothering to give her assurances if this was as it was intended. A charade for the media, a publicity stunt to demonstrate their favor towards non-wizards, a contradiction if anyone put even a modicum of thought into it. Purebloods rallying for the equal rights of their lessers and calling for them to be treated as their contemporaries, few have bothered to question 'why now.' Why was it now suddenly a topic of interest for their family, why was just this generation mixing with mudbloods and halfbreeds now when every one of their predecessors without exception was not only wizards but also Seers or those with uncanny psychic abilities. There was perhaps no family with a more purposeful pedigree than the Athanatos family and their branches.

"Hi." She was addressing the gawkers and the troll of a friend that was always showing up. "Sorry, it’s hard to resist; it’s been months." He raised an arm and dropped it over her shoulder, there was not much lifting required. Her spider monkey-like limbs would find their way around him, there was no escape but strangely enough he was not even trying. "Just being here is giving me so much energy... Maybe someday I’ll be able to play professionally."

OK, he liked it when she talked quidditch. The boy had a few fetishes and they would not leave this tent the duration of the holiday had she been wearing her quidditch outfit. Thankfully for both of their sakes she had not thought of that yet, just frilly, feminine and flirty dresses and casual outfits. Things that did not have the same power over him. Little did she know, as long as the Mahotokoro girls (and one can also suppose boys) stayed out of their quidditch uniforms she had absolutely nothing to worry about.

"He’s joking," Winnie assured Aurora.

"Nope, was definitely not," Mathias insisted, shaking his head side to side. His axe to grind with the loud, less kissable pterodactyl was no secret.

"I think if you give each other a chance, you’ll find the opportunity for a friendship! Besides, if you can’t learn to get along, how will we go on double dates?"

"She pepper sprayed us on our last double date," he reminded her. "In fact, I think she pepper sprayed her date," he really could not remember but she probably did. The girl was on a damn rampage. "Whoever is stuck with her needs a rescue party, not fellow victims."

Someone brought up pranks.

"Ohhh! That sounds fun... Maybe we could prank some of the other tents."

Yeah, they *could*. He had nothing to add, he had nothing against most of the other cabins. Most of his enemies were in this cabin. Couldn't he just prank his own cabin?

"Muggle... Like my wardrobe?"

He could feel something shrivel and shrink with that comment as the smirk on his face he was giving Aurora dropped for a mere moment. "You look okay," he assured her. Not his best compliment. He probably should not have said anything, that would have been safer some to think of it. "I mean great. yes, great," he empathized.

She would make additional introductions. She did not know them, but the association with her brute of a 'brother' in name only JACK stuck with him. Someone was going to have a pretty miserable summer and it wont be entirely Giddy's fault. "O-Oh hello! I've heard of you as well... Hopefully between the two of us, it will be easier to keep Jack in check this summer."

He kept an eye on her, so he would see the book but not the contents she left nearest his bed. Not too bad... Not to bad of a start for the summer. Giddy had already approached Mathias' intended victim. fine give the twerp first blood. "Winnie, is Jack going to be here in his unreasonable and irate, violent fury?" If so, he needed to know what tent, if there was a tent to ruin, that was the tent.

As if spoken into existence, The one and only Jack Warren pushed his way through the tent's flaps. He was fashionably late as always, but was it a surprise that he was late? Sometimes it would help if Jack cared to look at a clock or even try to keep himself on some rails, but that was never in the cards for dear ol' Jackaboi. If something caught his eye, he drew to it like a moth to a flame. It led him to interesting points in his life, so he had never felt the need to tame his impulsive nature. It was just too much fun, and honestly, that was the only thing Jack loved in life (Besides a screeching redhead sister and particular Ravenclaw prefect).

With a loud sigh, the boy tossed his green duffle bag down on the ground and spread his arms wide. No worries, eryone! I'm here. The party can start now!" Now, if Mr. Warren had joined the others in the tent only moments earlier, he would have seen Winnie and Matt mackin' on each other like they were begging for air. Luckily that wasn't the case because if it were, the summer would start very badly for Mr. Pride. Badly meaning somebody with the name starting with M would get murdered brutally. Just because he accepted that Winnie wouldn't stop messin' with Mathias didn't mean he wanted to watch them get all lovey-dovey.
