There have been chaos in the great hall since morning. And by now, Emmie was quite curious to see what is making all that noise. She quickly put down her book and went into the great hall, to her surprise, a lot of teachers and students were hanging up decorations instead of the house elves.
"What is this about?" She asked a nearby student.
"Oh," the student replied, smiling, "This is the errand set by the astronomy teacher. She wants us to help with the decorations. She thinks that the house elves are doing too much work."
"I see," Emmie said, " Then I better get on working."
She picked up some decorations and started hanging them up. Although she doesn't have the Levitation charm nor the Gluing charm, she used the "traditional muggle fashioned" way of just hanging them up by stretching your hands up into the air and putting the decorations.
It was quite fun, to be honest, she chatted with her friends and laughed at the jokes some other students made.
After lots of hard work, Emmie decided to go back to her house table and have some treats. She saw cauldron cakes and Bertie Bott's different flavored beans and chocolate frogs, and all sorts of luxurious sweets. Her mouth watered at the sight of the snacks, it was a great party, a paradise for everyone, all the students and teachers and staff. She reached out and grabbed a handful, including a plate of Rainbow Cake, and made her way to the Slytherin table to enjoy herself.
Suddenly, a girl bounced up to her. It was Clair, her friend in Ravenclaw.
"Hi, Clair!" Emmie said. What's those posters inside your hand? Can I see it?"
"Sure," Clair replied as she handed her one. It's for you."
"Thanks," Emmie said, looking at the colorful paper filled with pictures, "You do have a talent of drawing, you know?"
"Thank's Em!" Clair said happily, as she went and gave out more posters.
Unsure of what to do next, Emmie decided to make some decorations at the Gryffindor table. She drew the Hogwarts's badge and the symbol of Ravenclaw on some paper. She then cut the pictures out and connected them with a piece a piece of string. With extreme caution so that the paper won't rip, she carefully hung them on the wall, standing on top of a chair.
She smiled, stepping back and looking at her own handiwork. The hall looked amazing with all the decorations and floating candles.
Suddenly, a zine on the Gryffindor Table caught her eye. "The zines on the table look cool!" Emmie murmured, "I'll make some to hand out to fellow Ravenclaws!" She grabbed some blue paper and followed the steps to make one.
[quote]Here are the steps:
Reducio
1.Fold a piece of paper in half
2.Fold it in half the other way
3.Fold the paper in half vertically
4.Unfold and cut the zine
5.Fold the paper along the horizontal fold
6.Push the paper to form a plus sign
7.Fold the top and bottom legs of the plus sign over
8.Fold the left leg over clockwise and crease
9.Add art and text
(Emmie drew some eagles and ravens on her zine, and also, cute drawings and some jokes!)
After she had finished a couple of zines, she put them on the Ravenclaw Table and hoped that other students will like it.
As she returned to the Lion Table to collect her crafts, she saw Quinn, a young girl from Slytherin. "Hey Quinn!" Emmie said, "You are doing crafts as well?" "Yep Em, your stuff looks cool!" Quinn replied. "Thanks!" Emmie said, beaming, "Yours look great too!" She sat down beside her friend and they chatted together happily, constantly sharing sweets.
Hmm... Emmie thought, as she went back to the House Table I think I'd better make some pride flags and flowers. She skipped over to the Hufflepuff table and began to make some fake flowers and arranging them into a colorful rainbow or simply putting them in elegant vases. She drew cute pictures that represents pride and used blue, black and brown ( the colors of Ravenclaw) to make a pride flag. Pride Month is certainly fun! she thought, I just love the atmosphere, brings everyone together.
Emmie thought of another activity she could do. "How about folding paper into birds?" she asked herself and got a black sheet of paper. After a long time, she finally folded a nice bird with black feathers, a raven. It is the perfect symbol of her house. "I could bring this to my dormitory, my friends are gonna love this." she said.
Suddenly, Emmie had a very exciting idea. She quickly went up to her common room and found all her sweets, licorice wands, Droobles and more, all her savings for the month. She then rushed back and dumped them on top of the Ravenclaw table. "Come and have some candy!" She shouted.

When we finally finished the banner, and had it all hung up on the professors table, me and Monica stood back and admired our work.
“Great job Monica! Wanna officially be friends?” I asked Monica. I felt connected to her, mostly because we worked so hard to achieve something so simple, but it felt awesome. “Of course I would love to meet up with you sometime! I see you soon I hope!” Monica left and I was all on my own again. I walked back over to the craft table and looked around for something interesting to make. Then I saw a few girl huddling around the Ravenclaw table, so I walked over. I stood on the other side of the table watching them fold a blue square of paper. When she was done folding, she doodled some drawings on the paper. I couldn’t see what she was drawing but I picked up some paper and went back to my spot at the table. The glitter residue from the banner I made with Monica had been cleaned up, along with my empty plate. The house elves must be ready to clean. I found a paper with instructions, written in the same scrabble as the instructions for the flowers, that the Ravenclaw girl must have been using to make the zine. I grabbed some purple paper and folded it using the instructions. When I was done I wrote ‘Happy Pride Month!’ In my neatest handwriting. Then I flipped it over to the back and wrote Made by Cara Smalley, Hufflepuff. I left it next to the blue zines the other girl had made. Then I went over and had some rainbow cake.

Marina was pretty sure her glue would be dried by now. So, she walked back over to her project to find that it was missing. Was she at the wrong table? Had someone misplaced it when she was not looking. Marina looked across the table to the other side and saw her project over there. Marina happily ran over to her project, glad that it was still there. Marina checked the glue, and it was indeed dry. Now it was time to assemble. Marina tied the individual crane strings to the wooden dowels. This did not take much time considering the fact that she had already done the hard part.

Now that her own project was done Marina decided to look around at other people's creations. While she was wandering Marina was given a poster from Pax whom she noticed had been giving out these posters to practically everyone at the advent. Marina thanked Pax for the poster and continued to look at other people’s projects. There were lots of posters but also many other things. Marina was rather amazed by the creativity all the other students had.

Marina once again walked over to the Ravenclaw table. She set her delicate creation next to her and ate some food. When Marina was full, she collected her project and left the Ravenclaw table. Even though she was having lots of fun, Marina decided to leave the event.

Marina walked through the corridors and up several staircases. She was finally back to her common room. Marina climbed the stairs up to her dormitory. She asked another student to hang her project. Once her project was on the wall, Marina went back to her common room. She looked at the poster she had been given and began reading what it said.

"It is necessary to curb the puerile," Regina replied without looking at Faye, her eyes never leaving the floating prankster even as the chaos died down around them.

She was aware she was making quite a scene here, but it was difficult to not act out when her emotional state was in a slight disarray because of the commotion. She already hated crowds, and was hoping for an enjoyable productive evening with her close friends. The bubbling anxiety which the girl had tried hard to keep at bay from being in a crowded room threatened to return full-force, accompanied with a dangerous simmering anger when a brazen boy got all close and personal between her and Faye. Regina's first instinct was to attack because of the proximity, a defense mechanism she'd unfortunately had to develop from years of suffering harmful pranks from her older sister. However, the Gryffindor only bare managed to keep the Levitating Charm intact despite the tenseness in her body as unnerving violet eyes narrowed at the offending boy.

"I recognise you. You are McCoire...you are classmates with Mirador, are you not? Very audacious for a Slytherin."

Regina did end up depositing the Gryffindor prankster unceremoniously on the ground, but not because this little git had told her to. They were in the Great Hall with at least one Professor watching. She couldn't afford to get another detention right after she'd settled her accounts with Prefects Wynn and Decipio. Getting branded with a bad reputation might give her fearful recognition from other students, but it wouldn't be the smartest thing in regards to the Professors. Regina's fingers curled tighter around her aspen wand as she closed the distance between them, staring coldly into McCoire's eyes with a threatening glint.

"I struck someone like you when they were defenseless and wandless," She hissed lowly so the words would not be heard by others. "So do not presume to know what I would and would not do. You do not know me."

The Lioness pointedly ignored McCoire's comment about Faye being her girlfriend, because for one, it wasn't true, and second, she was a time-ticking bomb and it would not be pretty for everyone - herself included - if her anger exploded. Without shifting her glare from the boy, Regina muttered a 'Scourgify' under her breath accompanied with a flick of her wrist, and the rainbow streamers disappeared from her hair and clothes along with the paint. She did the same two more times with her wand in Faye and Kim's direction respectively. WDC 10 | [d20 : 10] + 7 = 17, [d20 : 11] + 7 = 18, [d20 : 16] + 7 = 23 --> success
"And it is 'Regina Miller' to you, you utter pillock," She hurled one last insult at the Slytherin before turning toward her friends. "It has been a pleasure spending time with you, but I am afraid I no longer have the desire to loiter here. I will be retreating to the Gryffindor Tower. Good night."

With one last cut-eye to McCoire, Regina strode out of the Great Hall without looking back and disappeared around the corner.

It was these moments of ease of friendship that made Willow think back on how their relationship first started.

Being dragged to a crafting table that he definitely wanted to be at, especially when he redirected them to Gryffindor. She pouted a little bit but followed along. While he slumped in, Willow swung her legs over and got a good bird's eye view of all of the supplies before plopping down next to him. Almost right after she sat she felt her hand grabbed by Elsi, she didn't even bother looking. Still scouring the supplies and using her other hand to start grabbing supplies. "I'm not sure yet. I think maybe- a garland or something for my room?" She looked over as he peeked up, quickly averting her eyes when he chastised her. "You looked at me! That's why I was looking!" She couldn't help but peek out of the corner of her eyes at the sleepy lion drawing furiously on her hand, adorable. He was one of her first real friends at Hogwarts despite her... explosive nature.

Insert memory fade here.
"You must be my first fool then. This isn't a fake magic, it is just a different type of magic. When I said I would've never learned about it without Hogwarts, I was talking about wand magic the stuff we learn in class." She looked at her book with a softness returning in her eyes, before glaring back at him waving it in his face.
This is not included in my word count.
Ugh. What a memory. An involuntary shudder ran down her back thinking about what she was like at eleven. In her defense, she didn't really know who she was, what magic was, that she was about to lose her grandma, and that she would be so much more than she thought she was. That despite how poorly she treated Elsi, he would be one of her best and closest friends two years later.

Once he declared himself done she didn't dare pull away until after he let go for a good three seconds, just in case he changed his mind. "Aw! It's a little frog! This is so cute." Quickly she glanced around, grabbing a few markers of her own. "Oi! It's your turn." Even if he was in the middle of something she would grab the hand closest to her, swinging to sit sideways on the bench and placing the hand in her lap. "Elsi, I don't think I ever told you. I don't think I've told anyone actually. But I think I'm bisexual. I've been thinking about it for a while, and I think that's what fits me." She wasn't expecting judgment or backlash, but she just wanted to tell him.

On his hand, she did a quick sketch of a napping lion with a spider on his head. It wasn't her best work, but she knew he would appreciate it anyway. "There! Now we both have art on our hands. I wish I could take a picture." She pouted a bit, holding her hand next to his. The desire for a smartphone for a quick picture was strong. Still, she swung her legs back around and got to work on the garland for her room. Amassing a pile of colorful hearts and fishing wire to hang them on.

Avery. June was sure Maggie had mentioned him by name before, yes. “Yeah I’ve got this friend, Avery. We play quidditch. He freaking sucks, girl, seriously. I mean, he’s not that bad, I’m just better, you know? Yeah he’s, like, one of my best friends, why?”

"Nice to finally meet you then, Avery," June said as he waved to someone across the great hall. "Henry," apparently. "Ah, a violin. Wow, you practice up to two hours every day? That's dedication if I've ever heard it." June paused at Avery's confession. "Oh, I see. Things are often a lot harder when we're made to do them, rather than choice, aren't they?"

June nodded along as Avery painted a beautiful image of what it was like to play music. "I do! I've been playing piano for years, also something my parents made me start. Though I can't say I've been as diligent as you seem to have been since we've gotten here... I miss it sometimes, though. When everything flows and you feel like every thought in your mind is replaced with sound, with melody, it's so freeing..." June smiled and sighed as she creased the fold of her paper. "We should duet sometime, if you'd like. So you don't have to practice alone."

Avery was right, the year was almost over. June would be lying if she said she wasn't counting down the days until the end of first-year. "Um, well..." June was quite honestly a bit tired of sharing her sad little story of her sad little year. But Avery seemed nice enough, perhaps she'd be honest... "A bit underwhelming, if I'm honest. I never thought it'd be so difficult to make friends without my parents dragging me around. Turns out they were the ones doing most of the friend-making for me." June straightened her posture a bit, not wanting Avery to look down on her. She wanted to seem confident, put together. "But things have been a lot better since May. That's mostly thanks to our Maggie, though." June laughed, thinking of her friend. Maggie Hawkins was certainly helping June build her reputation. Even in the few weeks since June had met her, she had simply felt more confident, more empowered. "I'm quite excited for next year, though. It'll be good, different. Better."

June looked over at Avery's flower. He was quickly getting the hang of it, June was sure he would have been fine even without herself. Avery... An interesting lad, that's for sure. Friendly. June decidedly quite liked him, especially if Maggie did. She added 'becoming friends with Avery Unknown-Last-Name' to her mental list of things to look forward to next year.

Colin watched as the strange Gryffindor girl suffered a tantrum right in front of him. He'd never seen the like before in his life! Well --- Moira, his older sister, could throw a pretty good drama tantrum, but this girl was clearly a pro! He kept his eyes on hers as she focused her archimedian glare upon him. Colin knew he had a powerful stare, but this Ridge was almost violent in what her mere eyes could do!

It was strange, Colin thought: I should be terrified of her! But why aren't I? Why do I feel more like playing than being afraid? He narrowed his eyes and gave her a slight smile as she said his name. Wow. She knows my name, and I've never even heard of her!

"Mirador? Um. I think so," he said shrugging. "I don't know him, though." Colin wondered why this girl was so on about Mirador. "Is he your boyfriend?"

He gave her a smirk when she called him 'audacious for a Slytherin.' "You don't know the half of it, sister," he said under his breath. He'd learned audacity once he got out of nappies. His home was wild country and a more timid boy would never get out of the library! Perhaps that was why this girl didn't frighten him. She had a wild side. She showed it to him and he vibed a little with her. He shrugged.

She let the boy who had let off the paint bomb drop to the ground. Colin nodded. Good. She wasn't beyond reason, and he was glad he convinced her to drop it. Colin's gaze flicked quickly from her eyes down to her wand hand as her fist tightened on it. No longer concentrating on the other boy, Coin realised she was now free to hit him with something. He curled his lip, but dropped his left hand down towards his pocket and withdrew his own wand. He was brave, yes, and audacious --- but he wasn't a fool!

As she advanced on him, her eyes locked on his menacingly, he felt a momentary fear. She was older, he thought perhaps two or three years older, but regardless, he knew she'd be advanced beyond his skills with the wand. He'd fight her if he had to. He bit his lower lip, preparing for her onslaught. She threatened him with the knowledge that she'd attacked defenseless people before. She'd better not try him! Defenseless doesn't mean incapable of fighting back!

He smirked at her threats. He knew she'd clobber him if they fought with magic --- but he wouldn't necessarily fight with magic alone! That would even them up nicely. "Wait. What does that even mean, I don't know you? That's such a muggle thing to say! Of course I don't know you! I've only just met you!" Colin gave her a look like one might give a child who's just run into a glass door.

She called him a pillock. He knew what that meant. He raised one eyebrow. "Pillock? Really? Is that the best you can think of?" She turned back towards her friends and said she'd be retreating. That got Colin's attention. Why would she retreat if she thought she were winning? Perhaps he read her wrong, this Regina Miller. Perhaps her bravado was just a front. Was she just a scared girl trying to make herself look big and tough in front of --- in front of who? Kim? Kim was a sweet boy and Colin wondered how they got paired up. And the other one, Glitter Girl, she seemed to be far sweeter than even Kim! It seemed very strange to Colin.

He had no more time to consider the matter. Miss Regina Miller had turned from her friends and blew past Colin like the Empress of India. "Oi!" he called to her retreating back: "Oi! Going already Regina Miller!? Queen of the Flour Mongers!

SEE YOU LATER --- MISS PERFECT!!!"

Colin just shook his head. "What a bizarre lass she is!" he said as he checked on the prank master. "You okay?" he asked. "I thought she rather overreacted!" he said, shaking his paint and streamer spattered mane. He bowed to the older bow with a slight flourish. "My name's Colin! What's yours?"

YES! His perfect prank was about to be fulfilled! He was so close, just a little bit further...

A shout of a levitation charm, causing the boy to instinctively flinch away. But not fast enough, and Piérre felt his clothes tugging him upwards into the air against his will, the paint smeared on his fingers dripping down upon the ground in small droplets like multicolored rain. His eyes widened at the feeling of breathless weightlessness, the sensation of not being held up any anything except by magic arcane itself.

It was... Exhilarating.

Despite himself, Piérre felt a giddiness alight in his heart, a familiar stroke of comforting warmth that signified his childish soul jumping and cavorting about without pause or need for a break.

A droplet of paint hovered in the air in front of his nose, and with a small, airy giggle, he cupped it in both hands, pretending that he held a orb of water in his hands. Forgetting for a moment the world around him Piérre kicked his feet and tried to 'swim' in the air, almost like a fish in water... Though if anyone knew the boy well enough, they would know that water was far from being Piérre's friend and that his kicking motions were highly inefficient for negotiating water.

Not until Piérre heard exchanges of harsh words below, especially of a younger feminine one calling him an "utter child", did the boy even spare a look downwards at those beneath his floating majesty.

For a moment, Piérre looked upon her and her Gryffindor markers with parted lips and wide, curious eyes, silenced for a moment into a false premonition of thought before tipping his head and rolling onto his back, tilting his head downwards and entering a multi-rotation backflip.

Laughing for a moment with the silliness of the statement's thought, Piérre fixed his eyes on the girl again. “Yes! Yes, yes, yes! I am a child, aren't I?" He felt searing, yet pleasant warmth beginning to flash in his nose and eyes, his green gaze gaining a new wateryness to it. “Say it again! Oh please! Call me a child once more! It's all I ever wanted to be...” He held out his paint-streaked arms to her, gentle yet strongly, as if willing her to speak her words into his embrace. His smile didn't waver, as he let himself laugh a little more.

Her harsh gaze and poison-tipped words had no impact on his heart of gold and diamond, forged through fire and pressure into something so radiant and bright that despite the fissures of onyx that crept through its veins it could not be shamed for what it was. In fact, it seemed to glow all the brighter for those who were so hearthearted and externally stern for no proper reason.

She was the one who needed him most now.

Piérre felt the magic fade, and he was gradually returned to the ground on hands and knees. He was shaky now that the thrill of being airborne had left him, and a familiar blonde boy with green eyes was beginning to stand up for the Jester. What an odd turn of events...

But not something that he wouldn't have expected of himself.

The girl mentioned a word... Purr-isle? Pir-url? Pyr-yll? Piérre didn't know what that word meant.

Piril-uriel?
What does that mean? ”
he asked, getting to his feet and dusting himself off with painted hands. His brow creased with curiosity. English was not his first language... And sometimes he didn't understand it very well... Especially flowery and fancy-schmancy words. Figaro, having followed the scotch, was now by Piérre's side, rubbing and twining around his legs with intermittent mews. He wanted his boy to see his new friend, but Piérre was caught up in other matters. “Is that an Island for the Pure? What kind of pure?” He asked.

She went on a bit more about not knowing who she was and that she knew who this boy was that was helping Piérre. And that she had struck down people who were unarmed. You know... Edgy teenager stuff despite only being a first year. Piérre had been there, seen that before.

He didn't understand the attraction to it. Why waste so much effort to push someone away?

“Hitting someone without a defense is kind of not a nice thing to do... A bit of a low blow... In my opinion of course!” Piérre started, rather comedically loudly (though he didn't recognize it), talking with his hands as his Italian accent rippled forth in his words. “And, you know, now that you've introduced yourself Gigi, I think I know you a bit better now!” He ignored the last word.. Pill-lock? Huh. Funny. Maybe he should give her a nickname too!

“Pyl-loink? Okay! Uhm, thanks for the nickname... I'll give you one too! How about... Fiorescuro? Dark Flower Kinda like you, huh?” He smiled brightly again, listening to the boy next to him shout back his own response.

She began to breeze away... No. The Jester couldn't let her do that without a proper sendoff!

“HEY! GIGI! Um... FIORESCURO! ORCHIDEOUS!

In a strikingly familiar fashion to what the Scotch had experienced just earlier that day... Gigi too would feel the mirth of the puck as a collection of dark colored flowers would nearly knock the breath out of her from behind. Piérre had followed through with his yew and snallygaster wand, having quickdrawn it from inside his best in the fashion of a duellist. Gigi may not have recognized it yet... But this was the third year boy who had recently signed up for the Gryffindor duelist team. A potential contemporary if he ever ascended from the waitlist.

The Jester looked upon this turn of fate and made a very apt conclusion, speaking before he thought as usual. “Does being the one struck from behind feel as good as it does to do the striking, my Queen of Hearts?” Piérre absentmindedly tapped his wand on his teeth. “Cry "Off with their heads!" without knowing the fate firsthand.”

An elvish smile. “Make not your judgement until you know that whom you face. As you said in your flawed words... You do not, can never, know me.” His words curled off into a low tenor near the bottom of his speaking range. Almost... Dangerous?

But he shook it off and smiled at the scotch, who introduced himself at Colin, accompanied by a small bow. Piérre shook his hands at him. “I am not your Liege! Don't bow to me. I am but the humble harlequin, the Japer of Hogwarts' halls.” Piérre hesitated at sharing his own name. So many titles, monikers, nicknames...

But this boy...

He was talking to himself, remember.

He deserved to know who he really was.

“Piérre Luigi Marchonné.” He said at last, feeling a weight lifting from his chest.

“I am Piérre Luigi Marchonné, and I am the appointed Jester for this school.” A flamboyant turn of hand and tight spin. “And now I have your name! It is forever mine now, Collie!”

Kim noted the glassy look in Faye's eyes.

The blond's brow furrowed a little and closed the short distance between them as she walked over too.

"You alright?" Kim asked, wanting to make sure she was fine. Could she have been hurt from the chaos that had erupted earlier in the hall? That would have been unfortunate and since she was close to Regina, and Kim himself knew her, she wasn't just some stranger. Therefore, a little concern from him was fine, it was normal, right? It wasn't a weakness. Or so he kept telling himself inside his mind, ignoring everything that had happened to him in the past. History wouldn't repeat itself and things could change for the better. It was then that Colin arrived at their location.

The boy he'd nicknamed Irish.

It had been awhile since Kim had last seen him and he let his blue eyes flicker over Colin.

As Colin spoke, Kim raised a brow. Ridge? What kind of nickname was that? He wasn't sure what to make of it and glanced over at Regina. She didn't seem to like it much. Colin spoke again, this time addressing Kim's childhood friend. A sigh escaped his lips and he debated on whether or not to interfere. Regina probably wouldn't like him doing so though and he knew she could take care of herself for the most part. So he remained quiet for now. But as Colin moved to get between Regina and Faye, Kim took a step closer to him and laid a hand on his shoulder briefly.

"We'll be fine, Irish. You should take care of yourself, I don't see you covered in colors, you must be missing out on all the fun! If you don't look like a rainbow, you're not having the maximum amount of fun you could be having, you know?" Kim said, trying to defuse the situation a little. He glanced over at Regina who had chosen to speak with Colin and raised a brow at her words. Colin knew Draven? Ah, right. Both of the boys were in the same House, so naturally that meant they'd be classmates. Or was there something more there?

Colin answered his unasked question soon afterward.

Kim's impression was proven correct. Irish didn't know Draven, other than the fact that he was in the same House.

There he went again, with teasing remarks about relationships! Ones that could one day get him into trouble, depending upon who it was he spoke them to. Colin seemed to do this often, first with Kim and Sophia, then with Kim and Precious, progressing to Regina and Faye and now finally to Regina and Draven. Kim idly wondered if Colin had also come to the conclusion that Kim himself was with two girls now. The two girls being Faye and Regina. Kim himself didn't mind too much about what was said from Colin's lips because most of them couldn't be proven.

The levitating boy came down again.

Kim wasn't sure if it was because the spell had reached its end, or because Regina had let him down.

But the reason didn't matter. The blond's lips parted in what could have been an almost-smile as Regina cast a spell to clean their clothes of the colorful prank that had hit them before. He inclined his head towards her, showing his thanks without using any words. As she sought to leave the 'event' that had taken place in the great hall, Kim nodded. He didn't blame her for wanting to leave. Since they'd already made a few things, she'd fulfilled the purpose of being there. On the other hand, Kim wanted to grab and sample some of the treats before he made his own exit.

Kim glanced over as Colin raised his voice and shook his head a little. Flour Mongers? What the hell did that mean?! Colin had the oddest way of showing his interest in someone. Or was he not that interested in her? Kim would have to 'stalk' him later and find more out about him. But that was for a later date. He let his blue eyes linger on the levitating boy, PIERRE that was what his name had been! Just as Kim was about to address him, a cat appeared nearby. The blond immediately scrambled away from Colin and Pierre's location was. The boy didn't have a potion.

Being near a cat would kill him.

Not literally but metaphorically. It would definitely cause an unwanted full-blown sneezing attack though.

And most cats tended to gravitate towards him for some reason. Kim wasn't entirely sure why because it didn't make sense to him. Weren't cats supposed to sense when you didn't like them? Why would they intentionally go after someone who wanted to be as far away from them as possible? But he was close enough to hear Pierre's next spell and it was aimed towards Regina. Kim quickly ran towards Regina a few seconds before the boy cast the spell at his childhood friend. He had two reasons to do so. One, the blond always wanted to protect Regina if he could do so.

After all, they were soon to be engaged as soon as he turned 14, which was near the end of next year. And two, Kim just really wanted to get away from the cat that was lingering nearby the area. Going after Regina to try and either push her out of the way of the spell, or take the hit for her, was killing two birds with one stone. Even if he didn't manage to get there in time, if he could lessen the spell in some manner, that was fine too. At least he'd done something to help her, even if it didn't fully succeed. But Kim didn't get there in time and saw the spell pass by him.

Just as he reached Regina.

Regardless, Kim knew he could at least lessen the damage if he acted fast and so he tried to push her forward a bit.

Pierre's spell hit both of them as a result. This time it wasn't glue, paint and glitter, it was a bunch of flowers. Or at least it seemed to be. Kim took on most of the purple irises, along with some of the others and Regina took on the rest of whatever had come out of the spell the prankster had cast earlier. By now, Kim's clothes were once again stained with various colors, but he didn't mind much. It was a black shirt anyway and not his robes. Sure the white shorts would probably be stained but it was fine. On the other hand, Kim's hair was currently blond and easily dyed.

He wondered idly what it would look like after this. If it looked good, he might keep it for a time. Kim looked back over his shoulder at the prankster. This boy just wouldn't quit, would he? Part of him was kind of impressed by his determination and stubbornness to keep going after one target. But he wouldn't ever admit this out loud. Kim glanced over at Regina, wondering if she would keep going or stop and either exchange some 'words' with Pierre or some 'actions'. Well, if that did happen, Pierre had brought it upon himself and Kim would soon become a witness.

To his possible death.

And when Regina exited, Kim would head over to the food table, grab a bunch of food and then exit too.

He wasn't sure if June would get it, but she seemed to understand, exactly. Yes! Things were so much harder to do when you're being forced to do them! he wanted to shout to the entire Great Hall at the top of his lungs, but of course he didn't want to scare the nice girl who was a friend of Maggie's and who he had already unwittingly doused with glitter. Instead, he turned enthusiastically to June. "Exactly! Sometimes it feels like such a chore. Ugh! Like, I remember when I used to do it mostly for fun as a little kid, but when I gotta worry about playing specific pieces for exams, that hardly sounds fun, doesn't it?" he rolled his eyes.

All in all, though, Avery still did enjoy music. So, he didn't hesitate to accept when June offered to duet sometime. "Of course! That's a great idea," he began. "I'd really like a break from my normal practice routine sometime. Hey, there are several pieces I can think of that would be great for piano and violin. Maybe we can try them out at the Rehearsal Room one day!" Now, that got him really excited, like he finally had an opportunity to go back to doing things for fun. Wasn't it good to develop one's musical talents in other ways, too? Boring, repetitive practice is so old, and he was definitely looking for something new to pique his interest.

He looked up from his flower folding as he detected the hesitancy in June's voice as she described her underwhelming year. It wasn't exactly what he had expected, but June seemed comfortable enough to open up about it. "Oh, that's surprising to hear. I mean- I wouldn't think that you'd have any trouble making friends at all, since you seem pretty approachable and stuff, but moving to a completely new place is always tough," he said. "It's definitely not the same making friends here," he continued. "Like, I used to hang out with a lot of orchestra kids back at home, but I don't have that here." Perhaps that's one reason why he didn't have as many musical friends at Hogwarts compared to at home, and he was always interested to befriend fellow musicians when he found out about them.

"But I'm glad Maggie's a friend of yours!" he beamed, thinking of his witty friend. "If she's ever mentioned me, I can bet she'd say that she's soooo much better at quidditch than me, but don't let her fool you! I'm like, a lot better than her! She eats my dust all the time." No need to mention the time that Maggie had to save him from being stuck in the air during that first impromptu practice, nope. "Maybe all three of us can hang out sometime!" June was certainly someone he would like to chill with again.

He looked at his almost-complete rainbow flower. It was coming along nicely! Now, maybe it just needed a healthy dousing of glitter from a cup he would steer clear of June Selwyn, this time.
