With the teacup detached from Sophia's nose, Sage felt a rush of relief. When Sophia began to laugh hysterically, contagiously, and she felt her lips twitching in response. The tall girl let out a nervous chuckle.
She could only wonder if Kim's prank had broken her friend. Ah, but the redhead was made of much stronger stuff. She didn't have to apologise, she couldn't have known about the trick. Heck, even Sage had been caught off-guard.
All's well that ends well, she supposed.
Kim returned, not quite as remorseful as Sage would have preferred him to be, and quite casually prompted a change in topic, like he hadn't just inflicted a potentially traumatic incident. His own date, Gemima, had expressed her own disapproval with a few quips. She liked the girl already, for not letting Kim's charms cloud her judgement.
Meanwhile, Sage could only hold her breath, counting backwards just so she wouldn't have to get worked up all over again. She was less refined in expressing her feelings, and didn't have the sass to make up for it either. Let it be, she told herself.
She had lost her appetite for food by then, and would rather roam the festival like she'd originally planned to. The night was far from over, and there were still places to see. She was glad her companions thought the same, making plans to meet back at the potluck tables after.
Sophia had been, more or less, coerced by Kim towards the activity sign-ups. Perhaps it had been his way to make up for his antics? Sage hoped that was the case and wished Sophia luck, Merlin knew she needed it. Gemima, on the other hand, was exiting the Hall, dangling an invite to join her in the Courtyard.
"I'll take you up on that offer," acquiesced Sage, matching the girl's stride and followed her out of the Hall.

Quentin made it to the Great Hall in record time: it only took about an hour or so to find the place. He was shaving off minutes every time he needed to eat, creating a personal best each time.Roleplaying as iNPC Quentin Gagné of Beauxbatons

When he arrived, the ball seemed to be well underway. There was a sea of students, all of whom he probably didn't know. He might recognize a few Beauxbatons kids here or there, but he had never been on the Hogwarts trip before. His other friends had decided not to go, so here, he was a loner. That didn't bother him too much. He had spent long stretches of childhood by himself. And where there was emptiness, one could fill it with new experiences.
The hall was covered in delightful spring followers. If Quentin was a flower guy, he might have even recognized one or two, but the best he could think was that they were all very pretty and Hoggy Warts sure did know how to put on a show.
Looking around, he wrung his hands nervously. It was supposed to be some potluck-type deal but Quentin didn't cook. His Grand-Maman Audrey expressly forbids it. He hoped the host school wouldn't deem him too impolite.
He bee-lined for the game sign-ups, knowing that was the best way to meet new people. Firewalking seemed like an intriguing idea. Quentin knew it wouldn't be real fire or anything, they were children and they were magic for godsakes. So he happily signed up.

Della shimmied along the edges of the ball. She had arrived late. That was purposeful; the last ball's events were still vivid in her mind. She wanted to give this one some time to sizzle before she dared step a foot in. So far so good. Of course students were arguing or casting wayward spells at each other, but that was normal magical school stuff. She eyed the ceiling of the Great Hall. It seemed sturdy as usual, in no danger of coming crashing down on all of them. But she stuck to the edge of the room just in case.
She was wearing a green romper: something that hopefully made her seem a little dressed up and springy, but also allowed her to do what she came to do. Get on a broom. And race. Or play tag. Or whatever it was. She just knew it would be fun and be an excellent way to train. Other students from other schools would presumably be playing, so she figured the extra exposure would sharpen her skills for the upcoming broom race.
As she shimmied toward the game sign-ups, she was stabbed by one of the roses adorning the wall. Turning to look at the Great Hall's added greenery, she was a bit in awe. She would consider these balls at Hogwarts to be quite pleasant if they weren't so terrifying.

Another moment of silence fell between the two and Illowy returned to her post, watching the party from afar. Here and there it seemed some were getting themselves into trouble, but it wasn't her concern. Illowy had learned from past mistakes that getting too caught up in silly little squabbles kept you distracted in case anything truly important came up.
It seemed the child, Marina, found another talking point; asking about the Goblet of Fire. Illowy hesitated before giving a short nod, "I did." she replied, "Its an opportunity to prove yourself the best. And I like chances to be the best." maybe that was the Slytherin in her talking, "They should be announcing it any moment now."
Marina hardly seemed short on questions. First years were also so inquisitive, it seemed, "I hadn't planned to. I saw a few of my classmates wandering around here and there." she explained, "I don't usually come to dances with anyone. I prefer my place keeping an eye out for trouble." at least, that's what she would say. Naturally, Illowy wished she were there with her friends, or even a dating, having a good time and enjoying herself like a proper teenager... it just seemed like such things were easier wished for then actually achieved.
Maybe one year she'd find herself at a dance under such circumstance. But nothing this year.
ReducioNotes : Its no problem! No worries!
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Arriving just in time for the erupting conflict, Valentin scanned for an opening for how to support Mikael. So long as Greta was behind him, Valentin felt like he could keep her safe by simply creating a frontline threat that had to be dealt with. Yefim also was running into the fight, bellowing about a weapon. After long hours of practicing coordinating together back in the days of quidditch, Valentin didn’t need to think about it. Moving in synchrony with Yefim, the albino niffler shot out his arm with wand emerging from under his shirt sleeve. With an exhilarated cry, Valentin’s voice rang out-- “Expelliarmus!”
Valentin may not have been strong physically nor in terms of arcane power, but quidditch had made him quick and accurate-- holding his breath, the white niffler silently demanded to himself that he finally show Yefim that he could protect him. No more times pathetically trying to drag the other boy’s unconscious body away, or trying to pull him out of a lake, or… No. The skinny seeker, always having to have an army protecting him, wanted to protect his loved ones, too. Would he be quick enough on the draw? Could he aim well enough to save Mikael, their honor, and his pride?
“Mikael!!”

As Aaron entered the Great Hall, he anxiously looked around to see if he had missed the announcement. He had lost track of time while getting ready and then had forgotten the corsage that he now had grasped in his hand, so he'd had to turn back around and go back to the common room. Then he had forgotten to grab the boxes of food his mother had sent for him to bring to the potluck part of the ball, so once again he turned back and had to balance the boxes with the flowers. All this in addition to constantly worrying about if his jacket was straight and if his hair would stay in place. It was a whole ordeal.Regular Text - English | Bolded Text - Korean
Mentioning: @Aly Salinger
Once he was finally there, he was relieved to recognize that the announcement had not yet been made. There was no huge celebration happening yet, just casual talking among the attendees and even a little bit of a scuffle he noticed in the distance. But he turned his attention to the food tables so he could drop off the food and be free of that. Then he finally glanced around the hall to fully appreciate its transformation for the ball. The abundance of flowers made him smile, thinking that Aly surely had a hand in that detail. Speaking of - Aly said they should meet outside at the festival, but Aaron hesitated to move in that direction right away. They might announce the champions soon, and he couldn't miss that. Maybe Aly had come inside for the moment to enjoy the announcement too? Carefully guarding the corsage he held in his hand, the Hufflepuff started making his way through the crowd to see if he spotted a certain curly-haired brunette. If he didn't find her on this walkthrough of the room, he would definitely go outside to find her.
TL;DR: entering the ball, delivering some Korean food (dishes of kimchi jjigae, dakgangjeong, gimbap, tteokbokki) to the food tables, searching for Aly in the crowd

Arjan decided to scribble his name down for the Flying Torch Tag, making a decision for the pair of them - or at least, for himself. "What the fu-" He started to curse as he felt something hit him in the face. It was not Ami's lips - or the lips of any other beautiful girl, much to his dismay. But rather, it seemed to be some sort of pastry thing with chocolate? Ugh. Whatever it was, it was in his hair.
Instinctively, he brushed the crumbs off his face and clothes but groaned as it appeared to be in his hair. He fell silent, growing annoyed by the whole thing. He was just about to get crowned champion and some dumbass decided to try and ruin his appearance? What was wrong with people?! Clearly, someone was jealous of him! That was the only explanation. That or it was a mistake but what fool would mistakenly sign their death warrant by doing such an action? His eyes narrowed as he pulled out a small pocket mirror from his pocket. Flipping it open, he observed the damage, "Some little shit is clearly very jealous of how hot we look," Arjan declared towards his date, as lightly and as casually as he possibly he could muster. Admittedly, if she knew him or paid any sort of attention, she would likely notice that he was frustrated by the whole thing.
Irritated, he looked in the direction of where the food had come from in an attempt to figure out what idiot had decided to die today. He wanted to impress his date, sure, but first he needed to also figure out who had just made the kill list today.

Miles Thatcher, dancing with Olive Adair, @Sienna Lenoir
Miles wasn't entirely sure why, but there always seemed to be fighting going on at Hogwarts. Perhaps it was some of the usual, such was the age and hormones, that attributed to it, and then you threw in students from various backgrounds and various other schools. Now, there was a hint at an upcoming competition happening to stir more into the mix. He'd stay on the outskirts of it all, at a distance, and with his date. There was no use seeing what it was all about, as most likely it was all far too childish for his liking.
The arguments and the spell casting and the food mishaps all seemed to be happening on the outer rim of the Great Hall, so he took Olive's hand and smiled at their shared touch a moment before looking slowly up to her. "Now is the best time to dance," he agreed.
Taking a slow breath to collect himself and hoping his date wouldn't notice, he led her to the middle of the floor where a few others were dancing. He watched Olive as he brought his one hand to her waist and held her hand in the other. "We'll start simple. If you should find yourself enjoying dancing we can always try more later. Just follow my lead. I'll step this way, you follow." He slowly stepped forward so she would step back and then began to do go around in a box. It was a simple dance, but an easy one. "They're going to be announcing the champions soon. I hope Ilvermorny gets a strong candidate. We need to kick some international ass," he said with a bright smile, starting to feel less nervous. It was a good sort of nervous. He wanted Olive to enjoy being there with him.
Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)

Peeking around a few attendees and ignoring the stares he was being given, Felix could see Arjan checking out his appearance in a mirror. He grinned when he saw the pastry had ruined his hair. Hell yeah, now the dumb ass would spend the evening picking crumbs out of his hair. The universe hated Felix just enough to ensure his worst enemy was Durmstrang's champion, so he couldn't have Arjan's head getting any bigger. Small moments like these were his victories. "We did it, Poe." He went to congratulate his accomplish, but the boy was already army crawling beneath the potluck table. Huh, well wasn't he just a smart little Corvus? Suddenly, the Swede got an idea. He grabbed his wand from his pocket to cast the smokescreen spell to hide them better. "Fumos!" Afterwards, Felix was about to follow Cain when a distraction wrapped in shimmering gold knelt down next to him.
Felix wasn't the type of man to get caught up in appearances. A pretty face had never really been able to turn his head, but when the American belle appeared before him he felt his heart rate start to quicken. "H-Hey!" His voice cracked at first, and he wanted to slam his face against the table for being an idiot. Part of his brain screamed at himself to get over himself because she was just a pretty girl, while another shouted that he couldn't, because it was Ret and she was his girl. "Just hiding from a certain hair-cut. I may or may not have given his hair the pastry treatment." Really Arjan should be thanking him, he had given him a free hair mask. "Come on." He reached over to take her hand and guide the girl under the shelter the table provided them. If she followed, he would nod towards his pal. "This is Poe, by the way. Poe, this is my... Um, Ret. I mean, my girlfriend, Ret." Merlin, there were times he hated himself

THE TROUBLEMAKER
Roleplaying as Aryaan Shamsi from Mahoutokoro
Darndarndarn darn DARN
He was running late. Again. So much for keeping an eye on all the schools that were showing up, Shamsi had found himself overwhelmed by a waved of lethargy and fatigue over the past week that had reduced him to barely moving. Which wasn’t a problem, per se. No one would really miss him not showing up to some event or another, not unless he had a great prank in the works.
But.
BUT.
Like hell if he was going to miss this.
The champions being announced and the formal starting of the tournament. It would be interesting to see which people got the nominations from the goblet, it would do a lot to set the tone for how each of the schools were perceived after all. Maybe Mahou would be represented by Hadashi-senpai, strict and competitive. Or Sara-san with his yakuza vibes, that would be cool.
Hell, it might even be one of the first years, since so many first years from Mahou put their name in. And wouldn’t that be a right scandal: the best and brightest of the schools worldwide, only as good as Mahou first years. And then there were the other schools.
Despite his tiredness, Shamsi could not but shake with the excitement at all the possibilities of the upcoming tournament.
“Hey. HEY. Coming through. Coming through.” The first year shouldered his way into the crowded celebration, trying to find either some familiar faces, or the Goblet itself.
Action: Enterin and immediately getting swarmed by the crowd
The curtains fell. And the silence was deafening
