He was left momentarily speechless as he launched Winnie away from him with his wand. His mouth agape, his hand trembled as he exhaled a deflated "I--" am sorry. ...did not mean to. ...want to-- want to stop perseverating and to man up. She was fine, knocked back and on her ass. A bit disgraced but she was already pissed and with the Napoleon tyrant. She would survive, get over it. She had Levi to salve her bruised heart and ego.
Levi rose his wand to him, the intent obvious. Pride's intention's also plain as he narrowed his eyes and squared off with with his own wand in hand. "I am going to enjoy this," he announced as he took a few steps to the side. He wanted a clear shot between Drakos and the potluck to his hopefully now rear. A spin of his wand around his fingers similar to what one would envision a baton twirler or a hot-spot gunman. A useless act of showmanship, also an act of nervous compulsion. The boy had been spinning that wand between his fingers for months, his hands no longer otherwise occupied. A fidget spinner for the present decade.
"Flippendo," a simple, basic spell that had a wealth of use. It was a spell that was commonly accepted, not seen as "dark" or "evil". A harmless, as harmless as thrusting someone across a room or in Levi's case directed at skewers and bubbling pots of hot food. Perhaps some sweets, a cake or a pie could slather over the worst of his injuries. He would blend right in with the food fight that was ongoing.
Pride was not physically brawny but he was far from incompetent. He was confident in fact, what he lacked on physical power he more than made up for in casting potential, in his nimble nature and his the threads of fate that that warned him of days that were good and days that were bad. Of what he can change and he cannot change. Of victories and of the path to victory. He knew his name was going to be called. He knew what the second task entailed and why a cherished one was to be named, in the blink of an eye he saw that potential nightmare. One he could change, there was a difference between what was and what there might be.
"Levi, you are a loathsome excuse," not an excuse for something just in general. "You lack the bloodline, the legacy, the height and the presence I would require in a partner. There is no lie I could tell that would make you appear sufficient," he glowered. "You are nothing but a pawn in a game of checkers, misplaced and of no particular use even in the right game. A distraction at best." The boy had money or at least the appearance of money, something he could recognize but he acted like first generation wealth - the need to show it, to make sure others were sufficiently aware with gaudy displays. Money meant more than creature comforts, it also meant power and affection and loyalty.
I am in no way upset with Levi or Winnie in any way out of character. This is the acts of a fictional character that is mean.
Action: Flippendo at Levi Drakos, aimed at the potluck.

As Ileen buried her head in Aida’s neck, the albino knew that many, if not all, of their perceptions had hit the mark. Squeezing a little tighter with one arm, Aida’s left hand petted Ileen’s hair softly to soothe her. Listening to Ileen talking about Victor, Aida remembered the look in the girl’s eyes from just moments ago-- that haunted expression-- and thought about how Aida must have looked anytime they heard the voices of the White General or the Undead King. Apparently no one else could hear them. Was Ileen hearing disembodied voices, too? As Ileen’s voice grew more determined, Aida pulled back to look at her. The Slytherin was determined to find Victor, just as Vladimir had insisted on finding him last summer after Aida revived the collapsed Ravenclaw.
“I never did find Victor,” said Aida. “Vladimir wanted to find him, too, and I said I would help, but… I don’t think he wanted me involved. Victor had hurt Vladimir, knocked him out, but Vlad said it wasn’t him-- just had his face. He said he was ‘dead this time,’ and it couldn’t have really been Victor-- that Victor was too weak to do such a thing…” Aida’s words tumbled out like stormwater out of a broken levee, and with about as much clarity. Aida was glad that at least Ileen also seemed to care about Victor’s fate after so many had simply let the boy fade away without question. It was strange, really, how people kept forgetting others. A lot of students would just not return to Hogwarts, and yet, no one seemed to really notice or care. Humans, snorted to themselves mentally. I told Alexander I wouldn’t forget, and I notice when these people don’t come back. Someone has to remember. With a sigh, Aida looked into Ileen’s eyes.
“I am sorry… I don’t know what happened to Victor, but I believe Vlad. I feel he must be dead. He might not be the only one, eith--” stumbled Aida as a Slytherin boy approached. The two hadn’t gotten acquainted before, but Ileen had the grace to briefly introduce them. Smiling sadly at the inside reference to them being knight twins, Aida hoped that Ileen could find what she was looking for. Sensing that their time had come, Aida bowed in greeting to Percival and backed away, like a hippogriff in reverse. The white mage had no intention of interfering with Ileen’s very important date. Scheherazade, the owl on Aida’s shoulder, spread her wings with a miniature bow as well.
“Call for me if I can help you. I’ll be in the courtyard. You know I care, about you and about… your mission…” was as secretive as Aida could manage. It was hard, painful even, not outright speaking Victor’s name again. Omitting details went against every fiber of Aida’s being, but they tried to prevent complicating things for Ileen anyway in what felt like an act of self-sacrifice. Maybe they had already admitted too much, but if Ileen intended secrecy there was probably enough room to weasel out of it, figured Aida. The white mage already felt their skin beginning to crawl from their minute manipulation of words.
Waving their slender white hand, Aida nodded to assure Ileen that they were just giving the could-be lovebirds space, not abandoning her in any way. Scheherazade turned her head 180 degrees backwards to watch the two as Aida began walking away.

@Bloom Silverton
The tension in Bloom's back quickly faded as she looked up to him. The contrast between the coolness of his flesh and the warmth from hers made the difference in their natures quite apparent, but the look in her eyes saw way past that. With the two of them they could simply just be. Human, half-breed, it didn't matter. They were just two people enjoying each others company to the fullest. Howard would let his hand slip from her back to fall into hers as Bloom led him to the dance floor.
As agile as Howard was it did little to help him with the art of dance, but fortunately a slower paced song was currently playing. Not only was it easier to dance to, but it also gave him a good excuse to get a bit closer. If she allowed he would place his hand on her waist and attempt to lead them as he did his best not to step on her toes. As always the conversation would flow with ease as she brought up her latest accomplishment. "Woah! No way!" Howard's eyes lit up even more with the mention of broom racing. Any talk of flying always got him going as it had become quite the passion of his. "No that I doubted ya." He quickly corrected himself. There really was no doubt, he was just excited. "Think you can best me though?" Howard teased with a wink. A flying date was definitely in their future.
It would be then that the song would come to an end and something more upbeat began to play. Howard shot Bloom a nervous smile. If they had been dancing closely he would let his hands slip away as they separated. It surely wasn't his strong suit, but there was no way in hell he was ending this so soon after it began. First he would begin to shift his hips around as his arms did this running in place kind of thing. Then a sudden impulse would grip him as he remembered when she taught him to swim. Soon enough he was doing this ridiculous swimming motion with his arms as the song began to pick up in pace. Howard must have looked a bit of a fool, but he surely did not care in present company.

Of course the girl he'd bumped into would be annoyed with him.
After all, she'd been bumped into!
"Sorry, someone bumped into me and sent me stumbling in your direction. I'm normally quite good at keeping my balance. But this outfit and these heels... well, I'm not used to them." Hiro said apologetically and flashed a smile at the girl whose name he still didn't know. "You are?" He asked, curious as to what her name was. Once he'd heard a name, he never forgot it. Hiro had been like that for actually quite some time.
Yes, it might take him a few seconds to remember, if it had been awhile ago, but the names of all the people he'd ever met were all inside his mind, wandering around in there. The girl responded to his question from before, telling him she only used shampoo and conditioner and brushed it all the time. "Well, I can tell you take really good care of it, which makes me like you even more!" Hiro said with a smile. It was the truth, he wasn't lying.
"I love people who love their hair." He said.
"One of my hobbies is styling and dying hair." Hiro went on to say.
When the girl asked what had happened to his dress and asked if Mahoutokoro was nice, Hiro grimaced. "I had an unfortunate incident with my roommate. It didn't end that well, but it's alright. We'll make up later!" He told her with a smile. "And Mahoutokoro is great! You should come visit it sometime. It's quite different from Hogwarts. Have you been at Hogwarts for long?" Hiro asked, a little curious.
It was then that the other person spoke.
Pax. Ooo that was an interesting name! Hiro liked it! "That's an awesome name!"
Hiro let his eyes flicker over Pax as they asked what his pronouns were and smiled at them. "He/him. Yeah, I don't usually dress like this, in fact this is the first time I've ever done so. A friend convinced me to do this because she wanted to see how I looked." He said with a shake of his head. "I think she made me do it because she wanted to see how people reacted when they saw me like this." Hiro said dryly.
"But thank you for the compliment. I like your outfit too! You look really good!" Hiro said with a smile again. "Are you two going to the festival anytime soon?"
He was curious to know how long they'd be there. After all, he still wanted to meet everyone else in the Great Hall before they headed onto the festival grounds. Some of them had already left for the area but he'd find them later on. No one would escape his clutches! Hiro would eventually track down every single one of them with a greeting and a hello. Even the most elusive ones. As long as they were at the ball somewhere, he would find them. Eventually.

Hunter was finding Judith rather fascinating by the moment, and he reached up to grab her hand and continue onward towards the courtyard for the festival area. However, he blushed and felt a slight nerve feeling jolt as she offered her hand. A small feeling of anxiety overcame Hunter, and he was unsure of what to make of it. An uneasy feeling was arising around him, and his quick thinking came back into play: "How long is that potion supposed to last?" That is what came to his mind. He was unsure, as his father didn't leave a note explaining the longevity of the placebo drink. There was no telling when Hunter's anxiety would rise back up again, or if it would at all tonight. If it did, would he end up ruining the event for Judith? Again, why was he acting this way? Why would he accept her hand? She's just Judith, another Ravenclaw girl, right? It didn't sound right to Hunter when he asked that before, but he didn't have time to keep on questioning himself. He nudged the thought away and decided to continue on with the ball: "Crafting does sound fun, and I believe we were embarrassing each other together there."
He took Judith's hand and accepted her invite towards the Courtyard. At least there it had the potential of being less crowded, and there'd be an open breeze to enjoy. The closer to nature, the better for Hunter and his thoughts. The question was how long will his mind keep conflicting with his heart?

Kamila stood there as he interrupted her and the older girl's conversation. Kamila stood there as he led the older girl onto the dance floor. Kamila stood there as she was completely ignored by him. He didn't even ask if Kamila minded if they danced. Nothing. He just led the older girl out onto the dance floor and completely ignored Kamila. Kamila was not even sure if he noticed her. Kamila thought that the blossom ball was going to be a place to make friend not enemies.
Kamila stared at the dance floor as the other two danced. She knew she had to make her presence known to him somehow. Make him realize how much he had hurt her. So, she swallowed her tears and walked onto the dance floor.
There were people everywhere Kamila even lost sight of them for a moment as she walked toward them. Kamila wanted to ruin this moment for him, but she saw how happy the older girl was and Kamila really liked her and did not want to ruin this moment for her. So, staying a couple feet back from where they were Kamila folded her hands behind her back. Turned toward him and glared still as a porcelain doll. Watching and waiting for her moment to strike.

@Flash Holmwood as Yefim, @Evelynn Decipio as Greta, @Aida Mórsgor-Ama Ellwood as Der Niffler, and the general commotionA part of me wanted to reach out and prevent Yefim from doing much more damage. Indeed, such acts were not befitting of those who are representing the prestige of a visiting school. But, in a frustrating way, Yefim being Yefim is not terribly unlike Piérre being Piérre; telling him not to do something will make him try to do it all the harder. That being said, it still wasn't a right thing to do...
And it also seemed that the Potluck table was becoming an interest to several people, thanks to Yefim's many acts of food violence.
I'd rather not be a part of it, if I could avoid it. I came here to enjoy myself, after all, and not become anyone's babysitter. Yes, I wanted to find Piérre... But I know for a fact that he has an impeccable way of eluding the worst of ill luck.
Doesn't prevent me from worrying about his mental health, however. It's no secret that even though he said to me that he forgave my need to transfer schools, he never fully accepted or internalized that forgiveness. I can see it in his eyes when we speak sometimes, in the way he holds himself; tense and defensive. He is lying through his teeth.
So I need to talk to him. At the least, even if it isn't entirely friendly. I need to speak to him.
But I should move out of the fray, and probably away from my typical Durmstrang comrades. Staying here is practically asking for trouble and might accidentally cause Piérre to cow if I do find him with them around.
One thing at a time.
I need to find him first.
So I had better start looking, scanning the partygoers for either an excitable, colorful figure laughing loud enough to be heard over the sounds of potential fighting or arguments... Or maybe a shorter, yet dapperly dressed gentleman causing subtler mischiefs as opposed to the raucous ones I tend to know him better for.Drifting away from Potluck Table

Figaro, speaking about RomeoThe last person that Piérre wanted to see was Romeo.
If history was any predictor of the future, something terribly wrong was going to happen tonight, and Piérre couldn't afford to have himself be the inciter of such misfortune. Such misfortune would end up hurting his brother, and by proxy himself.
The Jester had been quiet and almost like a phantom in the recent past. He hadn't wanted to be noticed. He hadn't wanted to draw unwanted attention for once. He wanted to not hurt those that he found himself around for once, and if that meant that he had to remove himself from a situation or from the immediate lives of others in order to do so... Then so be it.
But he hadn't been able to avoid his brother. Specifically, he hadn't been able to avoid the letters and the notes that had been sent to "check up" on him. Make sure that he was alive, essentially. Even when Romeo hadn't come home over winter vacation so that he could "focus on his studies", Piérre had not been free of the sensation that those blue eyes were watching him or blazing a hole in his back; asking if he was alright.
Romeo should have already known the answer, especially with the few fragments of stories Piérre had shared with trepidation.
So why in God's name had Romeo decided to come here again?!
Swooping towards the ground and tilting his body diagonally towards the ground, the Jester whispered an command in Italian to a white fur collar about his shoulders. “Scrutare; Gemello. Search; Twin”
A blur of silver and black scampered down the ramp Piérre had made with his arm; flicking its black tipped tailed for a second before looking back at the Jester with serene green eyes. Figaro calmly trotted into the Great Hall, a feline amongst the festivities.
The Jester's own emerald irises peered out from under the dark hood of a verdant green cloak, almost appearing to glow with the light catching on wide eyes as he watched his dearest kitten enter the fray before him. He had waited and debated with himself as to if he would attend this festivity himself or if he should leave his brother to his own fate.Figaro Enters the Main Festivity attempting to use "Cat's Grace"
He stood once more, not quite bringing himself to full hight, but pinning his shoulders back as he slowly put on a pair of white silk gloves and flexed his fingers once. In the end, Piérre felt that there was more to be gained if he simply attended and stayed out of the eyesight of his twin.
With that in mind, throwing the green cloak over one shoulder to reveal half of his silvery dress suit and white, pressed pants, the Jester entered the spring festival as well. His wand, yew and snallygaster heartstrings, trimmed in its almost 3 year old (from time of bonding anyways) green, black and white decór, was secured inside his silver jacket on his right side to accommodate his left handedness.
Since joining the dueling team, the boy had been practicing quickdrawing. He needed his most useful tool as close to his chest as possible. He would need it if things went South.
He searched the most easily visible crowd with their equally flamboyant dress. He would both blend in and stick out equally. Hopefully in such a way that little if any attention would be drawn to him. He spotted a group of Durmstrang students over by the potluck table... That could spell trouble. Don't look for too long. Stay to the walls and weave through the larger groups of revelers.
Just avoid his brother's gaze. Stay out of the way.Commanding Figaro,

- Eliza Corrids - 2nd year - Hex: 8b654b - Clothing: A light pink dress, rimmed with sequins, sleeves at the elbows, dress reaches lower knees, white, cotton faux-fur shoulder coat that surrounds her lower chest, white heeled boots and a white headband with a flower on it. Her hair is curled and she has blush formed into pink flowers just centered underneath her eyes -The winter weather was slowly departing, the leaves and buds on the trees waving goodbye in the wind. Now this, this was her favorite time of year. When it was beginning to feel a lot less like Christmas, and more like the spring that leads into summer. Oh man. Summer. She missed it. A lot. Why couldn't summer just be all the time? The cold was boring. It was white. Bland. Boring. Just, so, boring.
Now it was a funny decision, but as to lighten her spirits after the Valentines ball, she thought, during a late night conversation with her rat, that this would be a fun idea. Spring! And celebrating! Dancing! "Doesn't that sound fun, Mac?" She'd asked her rat. He squeaked, then licked his paws to clean that tiny face of his, as if to say 'What do I care? bring me some crackers and cheese, though.' She'd smiled and set him down, tucking herself to bed. In the morning, she'd have a ball. A dance, a feast. But with whom? She hadn't asked anyone, she hadn't decided to get a boyfriend in 2 weeks to bring. Oh no. She'd be going, a one person activity, to a social gathering. That was RIDICULOUS. But fun in her mind.
The morning of the dance was hyper and exciting. It was filled with students gossiping about their dates, and what drinks they'd drink and get.. intoxicated on. She didn't. She sat in her room, sewing a hem on her dress that she'd ripped on a chair. She spent the day thinking about the silly garbage she was going to say to her few friends she may run into, or the teachers she might see. Oh gosh. The teachers. Not only would they be there, but they'd watch every action. No making out, no.. whatever kids might do.
And then it fell. Night time. It was time for her to get ready for the living H E double hockey sticks. She stood in front of a bathroom mirror, curling every strand at once. She puffed it, mixing in the mousse, and coming the tips. She put the makeup on, floofed the dress, and put on all the finishing touches. Was she showing off for anyone in particular? Well.. maybe. She wasn't gonna say who. For now. Till then, it was time to dance. She took her time to walk all the way down to the great hall, through each and every corner, turn and hallway. She could hear music as she neared the hall, and stopped right at the entrance. She walked in with a shaky breath, looking around. Interacting With: @Mathias Pride | @Levi Drakos | Random Person She Bumps Into Outfit: ꕤ
Mentioning: Date: April 2nd, 2022
Confusion seemed to be her default state these days. Her date was breaking down, swallowing sobs as he spoke of his relationship with Mathias. Her (ex?)boyfriend seemed indifferent to his cries. The memory of the day they had spent together in the hospital wing was still fresh in her mind, how Matt himself had seemed upset over what Levi had done to him. The two seemed to have switched roles in the middle of their manipulative tango. She wondered if she would ever know the truth or if both boys would continue to twirl her into a daze.
Charms happened to be her favourite subject, so she was rather happy her spell had been cast flawlessly. For a moment she wished Professor Fresnel had been there to see it, until Mathias managed to dodge her masterpiece so easily. She was about to open her mouth to continue her plea, but before she could utter a single word Mathias had hit her square in the chest with a Flipendo, one powerful enough to knock her off of her feet and send her spiralling backwards. By some miracle she had not managed to hit anyone, but the floor had stopped her, knocking the wind out of the girl and smashing her face against the ground.
"M-Mattie..." She coughed, her lungs greedily screaming for air as she started to push her body up. Her hair had become dishevelled during the process, with several of the tiny pink flowers now scattered across the dance floor. Her tiara had been knocked off of her when the sheer force of the spell hit her, likely left abandoned at either Levi's and Matt's feet.
A drop of crimson stained the floor; a split lip and bloody nose the cause of it. She brought her hand up to her face, the pale skin also stained red when she pulled it back. The nose didn't seem to be broken, likely a minor injury. Eh, she was fine. Winnie Harper was no glass cannon; she could take twice the amount of damage that Levi and Matt could. Growing up on a farm and becoming a Quidditch player had helped her endurance. This amount of pain was nothing. Truthfully she was more worried about the dress and if any splashes of blood would stain it. It was a gift from Matt and she didn't want to ruin it despite her earlier tantrum. Clearly she had her priorities mixed up.
The layers of fabric that made up the skirt of her dress hindered her from scrambling back to her feet as quickly as she would have liked to, and her head was still spinning from the mere force of the spell. She stumbled forward when she managed to get onto her feet, bumping into a student (feel free to claim this was you). "Sorry." She mumbled, hyper-focused on getting back to Matt. She could already see that Levi was confronting him and--... Hey, what the hell? Why was he confronting HIM and not over her helping HER back onto her feet? She huffed in annoyance as she gathered her skirts up to rush over to the pair before they managed to kill each other. "HI. I'm FINE if either of you were worried." She cast a look of disapproval towards Levi to make it clear she was annoyed he hadn't checked on her.
But it was Matt who would be the recipient of dreaded sad eyes, like a pet shocked at the betrayal of its owner after said owner accidentally stepped on its tail. It seemed she arrived just in time to see Matt doing some sort of magical girl spin trick with his wand. She would get between the two boys, she would try to grab Matt's hand to stop him from casting (or redirect his spell, sorry random person).
"Mattie, stop... Please. This isn't like you." Her voice shook a bit, but it was nasally due to the lack of air flowing through her nostrils. "T-This isn't like either of you." She cast a glance back at Levi. Theirs was usually a duel of the mind, the only time she had seen it get physical was when Matt had pepper sprayed Levi at her party. It was hilarious almost, that SHE was the one who was telling THEM to stop physically attacking each other.
Those words packed a punch, and she felt like she had been hit with a flipendo all over again even if they weren't directed at her. "Listen to yourself! Bloodline? Legacy? ... Height? I... I have none of those things either." Maybe a legacy through the Hemlocks, but it was considered tainted by her mere existence. "You're saying that's all your relationship was? Is that what I was to you too? A distraction? A pawn?" Her voice grew softer, almost a whisper, hopefully Matt didn't die of shock when he realised she was capable of being this quiet. "If you're saying that's all I was... We... We both know you're lying. So... Just... Tell me the truth. Tell me what's gotten into you. I think... I think you owe me that much."
TL;DR: Winnie has a bloody nose and split lip. The tiara Levi gave her was knocked off and is at Matt and Levi's feet. Winnie bumps into a random person on her way back to Matt. Gets between the two and says acting this way is not like them, but she's an idiot because it is exactly like them. She tries to take Matt's hand to stop him from casting.

Time had slipped her by, many minutes spent securing floret ornaments into her messy-yet-elegant updo. It was a style similar to that her mother had worn on her wedding day, an afternoon Ret remembered fondly, immortalized through pictures that lined every hallway of their sizable home. This, combined with the dress and heels Felix had eagerly sent her, added up to a mini-Julia, a look the young blonde was quite proud to sport at this year’s Blossom Ball. She felt closer to Felix, wearing things they had decided on together. A small way of interweaving their lives despite the teenage couple living an ocean apart.
Still, each moment spent perfecting this look was one less with him, and even these visits had unpleasant, imposing end dates. With those final touches, she’d rushed to the ball, one hand grazing the corridor wall to replenish the balance she’d lost in these shoes. At the entrance, she slowed, hand reaching to her nose to ensure her fake septum ring had detached in the clumsy sprint. Reassured, Ret integrated with the crowd, eyes set toward the top of the heads she could see, searching for a flicker of white hair.
She’d missed Felix. When they weren’t together, his existence was defined by letters on a page, and though they were the most beautiful characters she could lay eyes upon, nothing compared to the comfort of his presence. A sense of control, stability, and freedom all at once, an intoxicating aura he filled with leather jackets and pouty faces, a sour attitude that evaporated into blushing cheeks every time they touched. She felt fortunate to be the one who could pull that out of him, something he had no desire for so it fell into his life as unexpectedly as he in hers.
An abundance of food was soaring through the hall, an apparent food fight of sorts taking place. As tall as he was, Ret found it odd he was not poking above the mass even behind that veil, but as she lingered near the perimeter alongside the emptying tables, she realized why. Crouched beside one was her boyfriend, with a long enough torso to tell her he’d grown a few inches since their last visit. Perhaps the heels would make up for it. Sneaking beside him, Henrietta lowered herself to the ground, allowing her dress to collapse over her knees like a canopy.
“Felix,” Ret was somewhat breathless, as if he’d sucked air from her lungs with a syringe. “Is there a reason we’re on the ground?” A muffled chuckle came from her lips, shielded by her hand. In front of them remained a rising sea of ball goers, staring into the backs of their knees and calves, the couple masked beneath those rippling waves to drown in the cramped space.
