Juniper walked into the Great hall and noticed right away the Christmas tree with seemingly homemade ornaments. She took a moment to look and observe in awe of the creativity of the students. Each was unique and special, and June and her mom always took time to appreciate things like that. A smell came to her nose so she walked over to a table. She grabbed a cookie, silently thanking whoever made them. The houseleves, most likely. She took a bite from the Christmas cookie, already loving it. She held her hand under the cookie to catch the crumbs that dropped.

Once she was finished eating her cookie, she had no idea what to do with the crumbs on her hand. She dumped the crumbs in her mouth and brushed her hand on her Christmas jumper. She shrugged. Nobody saw that, right? She pushed her hair behind her shoulders and walked to the table where the craft supplies were. She remembered the little gnomes her and her mom made every year to give to Neighbors and family. She wondered if the supplies were here for it! They did!

She walked over to the tables next to a girl she didn't know. @Maggie Hawkins "Hey." She said with a smile. She layed out the supplies she chose and began to work on the ornament. "What are you making? I'm making a gnome." She said joyfully.

The Ravenclaw student looked up to her, surprised.

"Oh. Eh. Well, sort of" he stuttered before providing a more complete explanation: "We have this tradition back home of making little figures of straw at this time of year. I thought maybe a raven could be fitting this year, being sorted into Ravenclaw and all. How did you know it was a raven? I thought I couldn't really get the beak right."

To be fair, the shape the boy had cut out didn't look all that much like a raven. Especially now that she could see it up close. She had assumed it was a raven mostly because the black shape looked more or less like a bird and it was their house crest after all. But she didn't want to hurt his feelings, especially as she herself would have been quite incapable of cutting a raven out of paper. She smiled at him and said enthusiastically: "I guess you did it better than you thought! It's a lovely tradition, you should bring it back home with you!"

As she said it she realised some of the students didn't go home for Christmas. She added quickly "Hum.. That is, if you're not staying here during the holidays, of course. Not that it would be bad. I'd actually love to stay. I mean, uh, I really wanna come home to see my family too. I miss them a lot, being a first year and all. But it's nice here. Especially that time of the year, you know?" Lily blushed and realised that she wasn't sure where she was going with this monologue. "Quit talking, you idiot", she thought to herself.

"Well anyway, it was nice meeting you. I'm Lily, by the way." she said quickly while getting up. She walked a few steps away from the table before realizing she'd forgotten her handmade bauble. Well, never mind, it would be too embarrassing to turn back now. She would just have to find another gift for her grandma.

Brows furrowed in concentration, the tip of her tongue sticking out slightly between her teeth, Dee spread the glue on the bottom of her bauble. In a... vague.. star shape. It was recognizable, which was all she'd aimed for. A dip into the glue, and the bauble was decorated with a glittering star. How oddly satisfying.

She looked up when addressed, then cocked her head at the boy who had decided to take pity on her obvious lack of crafting talent. That was... a really good idea, actually. Not only would it look pretty, it would also prevent the glitter from latching onto any unsuspecting people walking by in a range of roughly 2 meters. Although, honestly, that was half the fun of working with glitter - getting it onto other people, so they may suffer along with yourself. "You sound like you know what you're doing," she observed, a slight smile tugging on her lips, warming her expression. She looked down at the bauble in her hand. They were supposed to make them for someone? She hadn't thought that far ahead. Hmm. "For you," she replied, her tone utterly serious, although the widening grin on her face could raise the suspicion that she was teasing rather than being serious.

Not that he'd need it, Dee noted, her gaze falling on the boy's own handiwork. This was a boy who had more artsy talent in his little finger than Dee had in her entire body, hair included. More than mildly impressed, she leaned down to take a closer look. "Those are incredible!" she said, sounding awed. "Are they ravens? Are you in Ravenclaw?" She hadn't noticed him around before, but then, she wasn't the most observant person if something didn't specifically draw her interest. "Our animal is an eagle, though."

What she had not thought of while talking bent down near the table was that her breath would blow into the glitter she had spread there. A particularly unfortunate breath swirled the glitter up into the air, dispersing it, and suddenly, there was a small cloud of green glitter raining down around her. "Oops."

Cain watched the girl continue making her ornament like one might watch a train wreck, with some unblinking morbid fascination. That was not to say it wasn't lovely of course, it was coming out just fine without his help. Whoever this girl's mother was would surely be proud. He had to blink out of his trance and look back down to his own work, slowly adding some quick embroidery for a few feathers to give his birds the look of having wings. As quick as some V shaped thread stitches could be anyway. He peeked up again when she spoke to him, relieved to find she was smiling at his intrusion. "Me? I guess. I have some experience in making things. It's... satisfying to make something with your own hands." A rare look of surprise crossed his features for a moment. "For me? Well, then one of these can be for you." Of course she was sharing the curse of having to find glitter on himself for weeks to come and he was only giving her a bird ornament, it was better to give than receive this time of year.

He was flattered when the girl seemed impressed with his work, unable to help the smile tugging the corners of his lips. "Thank you." He finished the one he was working on and set it down with others. That was probably plenty enough for his mother to hang in the tree at home anyway. "They are ravens but it's more of a family thing." She'd said 'our animal', he could surmise she was in Ravenclaw herself. "I'll make one look like an eagle for you then-"

He blinked when the world was showered in glittering green along with some of his ravens. He took a deep breath and held it, assessing the damage. They were felt. The glitter was there forever. He slowly let out his breath. "Well, at least it's green. She'll like that." It was practically a nod to his house, nothing to get upset over. He turned his head to look up at the witch of chaos looming over him. "I'm Cain, what's your name?" A fine start to friendship.

There was a chill in the air as the sun crested over the horizon, hiding the glory of its light earlier as each day passed, heralding the onset of what was to come; winter was upon them, and nature had fallen into its frozen slumber.

As if battling against the darkest days of the year, the students had gathered together after class to craft baubles, and it would likely come as no surprise to those who knew the girl that Winnie Harper was among the crafters. Her eyes almost sparkled as they were introduced to a sea of various materials, practically every crafter's dream.

A clear bauble was her selected instrument of choice, and she had collected a few fake flowers, some paintbrushes, and paints. She positioned herself far enough away from the other students, although it was not for a desire to remain alone, it just seemed that many students had already grouped off and Winnie did not want to interrupt. She pushed the fake flowers inside the clear bauble and sealed it, and then, as carefully as she could manage, she painted a snake wearing a tiny Santa hat onto the clear plastic surface of the bauble, swirling her white dipped paintbrush over the bauble to simulate a gust of snowfall. On the opposite side of the ornament, she wrote the words, 'To Matt, Happy Christmas, Love Winnie'.

Adlai smiled as she looked at her fellow school mates around her, some new faces, some old faces yet she could still the care that they were putting into the ornaments they were creating. It gave her a boost of energy and made her want to try extremely hard when it came down for making hers. Would she keep it for herself? Most likely not. She'd probably try to give it to Dorothy as a momento for her from the array of activities she would be indulging in today.

She glanced down at the cookie she had placed on the table next to her that she had decorated to look like a wreath a few minutes ago. She would also try to offer it to Dorothy but something in her gut told her she wouldn't want it. Who else would she give it to then, Elena perhaps? She would figure so since she hadn't seen anyone else she had considered a friend so far this school year.

Pushing that semi-minute worry aside Adlai pulled a pre-made clay stocking ornament towards herself and began looking for paint, glitter and anything else she could think of that was at her disposal to stick onto the object. Taking her time she painted the stocking completely red, put cut up cotton balls on the top edge to create some kind of fluff effect and then used a magical amount of glue and glitter to place the initial "A" on its very center.

Hunter shifted his way towards the gathering of students for the action of what he had never known was a thing, bauble crafting. The activity was rather new, and something he wasn't exactly experienced with. Back at home, the decorations for the tree had already existed and Hunter didn't know they could be made from scratch; he assumed you would typically just buy them as is. His family had a bit of a trade with potions, and Hunter recalled that a few of the baubles back at home tended to be filled with a liquid. Even looking at some of the clear see-through baubles, if they didn't have the pieces of strings or hooks on them, resembled greatly to that of a round bottom flask.

Hunter decided to create his own bauble with similarity to that, something that reminded him of home and that would already fit with the theme his family had. However, he also wanted to make it flashy and unique to himself. As Hunter began to fill the bauble with glitter, an idea of curiosity began to form in his head. He was unsure if he would receive the results that he wanted, but he wondered if he could make a reusable "glitter bomb" from the bauble he was holding. If he filled it with glitter, and supposedly broke it in the air, then glitter would fly around the sky. Then afterward he could cast "reparo" to reuse the bauble again, maybe the glitter will even fill back into the bauble. Although as Hunter thought about it more and more, he began to realize that what he was suggesting would also result in shards of glass flying around too. At this realization, Hunter began to stop filling the bauble with Glitter. Unfortunately though, he wasn't paying attention and found his bauble and hand completely buried in multi-colored glitter. And the bottle he was holding was completely empty as he began to set it back down.

XXXXWow. The creation that Maggie held in her hands was truly a sight to behold, an ugly thing smattered with so much glitter that it honestly looked like she'd just made a lame attempt to cover up the ugliness with, like, more ugliness. Which was horribly disappointing, because how hard could stuffing a bauble with beads and stuff possibly be? Surely not this difficult. Looking around, the other students were far more successful in successfully creating ornaments. Maggie was not, no. Her ornament looked like a hot mess, in a few words.

Juniper Kelly clearly didn't understand the complete art that she was trying to make, seeing as she had to ask what it was. Ridiculous. Insulting, really. "It's clearly, uh," Maggie squinted at the ornament she'd made, trying to turn it in a circle in between her fingertips. In doing so, she managed to get glitter and glue all over her fingernails and the pads of her fingers, sticky and gross. Horrible texture, awful on the hands. What was it, actually? Maggie didn't have an answer. No, she had no idea what, exactly, she had made. "It's a thing, I know it is. I know it's a thing for sure," she shrugged and set the ornament back down, wiping the glitter glue-covered fingers on her skirt. Gross. "Not a gnome, though. It's not a gnome. It's an ornament for sure."

For someone that sorted into a house filled with black, green, and silver as their house color, Cash surely use blue a lot in the course these past weeks. Do not get them wrong, Cash is all about Slytherin pride but blue is one of their favorite colors. After the last class is ended, Cash changes from their school uniform into more comfortable attire.

Lounging a bit on their bed while waiting for dinner to roll in. Once dinner was ended, Cash was about to head back to their dorm but intrigued as Evelynne seems had something to announce regarding Yule Week. The green eyes paid attention to what the Gryffindor's Quidditch Co-Captain said to the student body.

Once Evelynn has done with her short explanation, Cash stood up from where they were situated. The green eyes walked to the crafting tables. On the tables, a lot of art and craft things have been provided. Cash grabbed some white foam spheres that they can paint on and one of the transparent spheres.

They grabbed a blank card, a glue stick, a bottle of glitter, bottles of black, blue, green, red, and yellow paint, some ribbons, scissors, and some piles of sequins. Once all the things that they needed gathered in their hands, Cash walked a bit away from the crowd. While making their Christmas decoration, the Beater wants everything to turn out perfect.

That is why they need their full concentration and are away from any distractions. Laid all the foam spheres on the table, Cash start to begin making their creation. The five foam spheres that they took, Cash painted with blue, green, red, yellow, and white, respectively. The young Ironwoods decided to work on the white foam sphere first.

Once the sphere was coated with white paint thoroughly, Cash started to write something on it. When they were done with it, they added a red ribbon to it. Next, they grabbed the blue, green, red, and yellow spheres. They lined up the spheres one after another.

First, they picked up the red one. They dipped their brush into the black ink. Cash was no Pablo Picasso but they will do their best to draw a lion to represent the house of Gryffindor. Then they move to the blue one and draw an eagle on it.

They repeated the motion for the green and yellow spheres by drawing a badger and a snake to represent Hufflepuff and Slytherin house. When they finished painting the animals that represent Hogwarts houses, Cash leaned back. Their drawing on the spheres was almost quite perfect and the green eyes were quite satisfied with their effort.

Before the young Ironwoods continue creating their last Christmas ornament, they moved their neck left and right to release the tense muscle of their neck from hours of sitting and looking down while they created their previous spheres. The green eyes took a bit breather then they continue working on their last project.

For the last one, the Beater grabbed the transparent sphere and unscrewed the cap. Once the cap unscrew, they filled the sphere with blue sequin to replicate the powder substance that Cash wanted to aim for. They filled the sphere in a healthy amount the screwed back the cap again.

Once it safely shut, Cash added a blue ribbon around it and they cut a small piece of paper to write. After they are done writing on the small piece of paper, they smear a good amount of glue on the back of the paper and stick it to the transparent sphere.

The Cuban descendant then laid all their creation on the table one after another. They smile at their accomplishment. Drawing and making crafts, in general, was not Cash's strong suit. It is maybe because the Christmas joy and spirit spread throughout their whole being. And they are fine spending some hours making Christmas ornaments that they can bring before they go back to the Ironwoods Manor for the holiday.

Day 3 of the Yule Celebration week was bauble crafting. The two bare evergreens in the small hall hinted that the baubles they were decorating were, likely, going to go onto the two trees. The blonde entered the Great Hall and sat down in a free seat. She had a slight idea of what her bauble design was going to hopefully look like once she had finished. She grabbed one of the clear, plastic baubles and unscrewed the cap on it. Then, she grabbed a small bottle of some white glitter and carefully funneled it into the bauble, making sure that she didn't spill any over the side. Once she had finished funneling the white glitter in, she made sure she was satisfied with the way it looked before screwing the cap back on the bauble. It looked like snow was inside the bauble, which was exactly what she wanted.

Next, she grabbed some white paint and a paintbrush and started painting around the bottom of the bauble. Her tongue was poking out slightly in concentration while she made sure not to make any mistakes. Once she had finished, she switched the paintbrush out for a very thin one and started to delicately draw some trees around the bauble. For the final touch, she painted on a reindeer. Now, all there was left to do was wait for it to dry.

While she waited for the paint to dry, she admired her design. It looked pretty good, especially since Adelaide had never crafted a bauble before. Hopefully she would get to see her bauble on one of the trees in the small hall tomorrow morning, along with the other student's designs. After she was sure the paint had fully dried, she got up from her seat and left the Great Hall, leaving her bauble on the table.
