"That sounds like a better plan. We have so much to do, don't we?" As for the rain, she could probably just grab a jacket or an umbrella. Honestly, staying inside this tent for the rest of the ball felt kind of boring. Taking an adventure in the wet weather seemed way more exciting.

Lani was glad to hear Miles's opinion on her school. Hogwarts students usually brag about how Hogwarts is the best, so second opinions on the school matter a lot to her. She had been looking into his electric blue eyes, sure she could study them for hours on end, but suddenly came back to her senses when he mentioned the quidditch pitch. She almost forgot to ask him about the game itself. "Are you going to go against anyone on the pitch? If you will, I'd like to watch you play." After hearing Miles talk about quidditch so much, Lani really wanted to see him play. He seemed like a very good beater.

"Don't worry, I'll be an amazing tour guide. I basically know Hogwarts like the back of my hand. I'll show you the art, too. It's the main attraction." She grinned. They had just met and she was already having a ton of fun. The two had just started walking when Miles complimented her, "Love your accent by the way." Lani could feel her face heat up as she smiled warmly, "Thanks. I don't really get that a lot. I love your eyes." She honestly couldn't stop looking into them. "Well, I grew up in Brighton. It's like a coastal city so there's a big beach close to my house. Lots of summer activities. As for family, I told you about my dad in letters already, so I'll talk about my other family members."

"There's my mum, who works in the Ministry of Magic. She's mostly busy and hardworking most of the time but she's pretty chill once she gets a break. Then there's my grandma Meg, who loves manners, but always listens to what I have to say. I've basically told her all my secrets. She's cool. And I'm an only child, so no siblings to worry about." Lani exhaled and smiled. "Sorry, that was a lot. What about you? What's your family like?"

As the performance ended, there were a few in attendance who cheered, whereas from the singers themselves, a few sprang up to leave as soon as they could manage. One of them being one of his interns, Santario. Kels watched her as she stormed off with purpose, not wasting a second. She had been acting off ever since that day the prefect had come by with a bite taken out of him. He had mentioned Santario by name but couldn't summon any specifics, he'd be lying if he said he wasn't worried about it.

That said, it was hard not to get distracted by the thick crowd that had piled in ever since he had his back turned. Tons of kids from all over the world had come in for the occasion, making it hard to pick any one person out. It was Pericles' and the other kids' show, the kids were good on wrap-up, as Kels was fairly clear that he was going to be mostly useless. He would be taking his frog back from one of the students, congratulating her briefly on a job well done. Instead of bowing or saying anything, Kels would scan the surroundings, trying to find the best route for escape. He was never the kind to enjoy the spotlight, or have any decorum, so once the kids got to finish their show, he was good to bolt. At least, that was his original intention before he spied the three adults hanging out, obvious by their height and scruff. People his age!

Kels missed having good friends around, and it didn't help that Hogwarts' staff was currently in a state of flux. First, his best friend Leo had to go, then... well, mostly he was still sad about Leo. The new professors this year had all been fairly young, either a little bit older or younger than him, and for the most part they all seemed pretty easy to get along with. If he was a suspicious man, he might have found that strange, but as a lonely man he was just happy to have people to talk to. Otherwise it would just be him and a bunch of really sad kids in pain... depresso espresso.

Squeezing his way through the crowd as unelegantly as any socially inept swamp beast would, Kels would arrive within the circle of adults with an excitable, dare I say hyper, energy. "Hey lookit here! Nigel, Rion, an' Tuesdee, what is UP my dudes?" Smiling widely, he would have missed any prior conversation. "Was we supposed t'wear suits? You guys look soooo fancy."

When the little girl approached Rion with the intention of asking for an adult's help, Kels would interrupt, pulling his wand from a pocket inside his jacket. "Wait up, jes' hold still a second." With practiced precision, the spell would go off without a hitch. "Ferula."

Like Levi, he had said. Levi was a metamorphmagi? She would have been more surprised to learn this and would have prodded the Slytherin for more information, but there was already too much to unpack. This was a discussion for another day, perhaps after paranoia had slowly eaten and picked away at her logic.

With that shameless confession, she released a huff of air in the midst of her annoyance. He knew her well. She was still flustered, especially as he gave her head another kiss. "Matt... Thatwouldhaveworked." Had he continued she might have forgotten, at least for a while.

"A year... Merlin..." Winnie muttered, her blue eyes flickering back over to Flash momentarily. She wanted to ask who had told him, but it seemed irrelevant. She believed Mathias like she always did. Part of her still did not believe he would lie to her. Could Erin be the reason the original Flash had gone missing? There were so many theories that continued to spin within her head. "But she's not a teenage girl, Matt. She's a hag. Even if killing her was unacceptable, surely there was something else that could have been done?" She could have been relocated or locked up.

"So they are unable to disguise themselves as the opposite gender?" It was a bit of a stretch, she had to admit, but if this Fake Flash carried the ability to pass this... Hag curse onto other women than they were in big trouble.

His tightened grip was all the confirmation she needed. Matt knew about the large dolls. She was not certain how, perhaps the same cousin he had mentioned before. "Hess?" She asked, although it still didn't matter. He was the only cousin she knew about. "If he knows how to deal with hags, where is he now?" Was he plotting the Erin girl's demise? Is that why Matt wanted her to stay out of the way?

The only thing holding her back was the memory of Mathias, his face bashed in and stained with crimson blood, his nose shattered and the wheezing sound he had made when he attempted to breathe. "... I can't promise I won't get involved if the danger comes to you." She wouldn't, couldn't, let him get hurt again. It seemed like the Slytherin hadn't noticed that Flash had entered the ballroom, perhaps it was for the best because the minute he became uncomfortable again she was likely to shift into guard dog mode. "I... Forgot to give you the gift I brought." It was random, horribly off-topic, but they both seemed to need a distraction.

Orion nodded at Nigel's logic, "Very true, they are still students and likely wish to enjoy the ball with their friends." He agreed. He was unable to keep from smirking at his insistence that he use his first name. Ah, so they were on a first name basis now, were they? That was fine with him, "Nigel, a lovely name for an equally lovely man." He observed. Unfortunately his invitation for a dance had been cut short, but that definitely would not deter him from asking again later in the night.

Orion's date had decided to make an appearance after all! How could Rion even think of being angry with Tuesday when the man had shown up in the attire he had hand-selected for him? Somehow the dirt that clung to the suit only seemed to make it more endearing. It was obvious the American had been digging around in the greenhouse before making an appearance. "Ah, hello Mardi." The Frenchman greeted him with a large grin, a hand reaching up to pat his friend on the shoulder. "I am happy to see you. I was starting to worry that you had forgotten me, my friend, but I see you managed to make it after all." He gave the man a playful wink to show that he was only teasing him.

The ever charming Kelsey would then make his appearance, bringing his infectious upbeat nature along with him. "Good evening, Kelsey." Yes he had figured out his name after their first meeting. "I don't think there was a dress code, I am usually in a suit. Nevertheless, you look lovely tonight as always." His hand slid over the jacket of his own suit to straight out any creases. "It was my intention to ask the lovely Nigel to dance, but now that you are here, perhaps you would like to ask him instea--"

He would not have much time to continue his flirtatious nature, however, because soon one of his students was approaching him. With her middle finger in the air. He would have been concerned, maybe even a little insulted, but this was Aurora Ranvier. The candy-coloured second year was a bit of an oddball. She brought Mini-Mardi along with her. He had a name... Nicholas, but Orion much preferred his nickname. The injury did not insult his vision. He was used to seeing such things, perhaps even worse. "Miss Ranvier, what happened?" His voice was laced with concern, but Brumby was quick to act, casting a healing spell. So he instead reached into his pocket to pull out a handkerchief. It was dark blue and hand embroidered with his name. "Shhh, it's okay." He attempted to sooth her, a hand reaching up to gingerly wipe her face, while his free hand gently patted her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her (I've been given permission from Aurora).

Nicholas smirked, the smug expression tinged with a mixture of bitterness and joy, both emotions intertwined in equal measure. He was still frustrated about the situation that had led to his date’s injury, and yet he found himself rather relieved and happy to see that she was still capable of laughing. Even if the subject matter of his joke had hardly been kind nor good-natured. There was something about seeing the girl smile that caused his stomach to turn in over itself, knots formed then separated themselves, only to tighten harder than ever. The mixture of feelings and butterflies in his core made him somewhat nauseous, truth be told. Somehow, he enjoyed that sickening feeling.

It was a different sort of sickening feeling that gripped his heart when she next spoke. Did she disapprove of his punch? His jaw clenched, his mind screeched and lambasted him for the action, then turned its frustration on the girl. He had been acting to protect her, was she ungrateful? Fortunately, such pointless anger was abated by her continuing explanation. She had blamed herself for the altercation. That was just as ridiculous, an absolutely stupid prospect and the fact that she had laid such fault upon herself caused the anger inside of him to shift harshly toward that same protective desire that had forced him forward. It wasn’t right. The fact that she somehow thought the fight was her fault, when it had been the foreigner who had approached them, and Nicholas who had thrown the first blow. For the first time in his life, he even managed to hear her mumbled words, she was worried she was ruining the date. Of course, her worried expression was wiped away in an instant and the same sunshine and sweetness that he was so used to radiating off of her returned, as if nothing had ever changed.

“Y’didn’t ruin anything,” Nicholas drawled, the words catching somewhat on his heavy tongue, “I’d punch him again in an instant. The way he spoke to you was shite.” Once more foul language left the boy’s mouth, yet for once, he didn’t feel the need to force it. Be that a sign of his still lingering anger with the Ilvermorny student, or of his growing lack of decorum, he did not know.

His cocky smirk was shattered immediately upon entry to the tent, and once more it was replaced by a blistering blush. Yet the familiar expression was not caused by a multitude of confused feelings that one may have alleged to be related to a crush, for once, it was caused by a flood of embarrassment. His date screamed at the French Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, then raised her middle finger in a gesture that was entirely impolite. Nicholas balked, his eyes shooting from the blonde girl and then back to the professor, and back, and forth, so on and so forth.

Nicholas’s mind rang, alarm bells banging against the interior of his skull. Conflict with another student he was capable of dealing with, being drawn into detention due to his date’s overzealous desire to have her damaged digit mended was not on the menu for the night.

The boy blinked, taken aback by the sheer chaos that seemed to radiate off the girl with the oft-changing coloured hair. He’d thought himself capable of navigating the maelstrom of feelings, both hers and his own, clearly, he had thought wrong.

Nicholas stood stupidly as the nurse approached them, his wand raised to fix Aurora’s finger through the use of magic. A charm that Nicholas doubtless did not know nor recognise. God, he really needed to read more.

Crisis semi-averted, Nicholas shot a wayward grin at the nurse, his tone grateful, “Thanks, sir.”

The approach from the professor who Aurora had first assaulted with her wounded rude finger raised questions that were somewhat uncomfortable. Namely, what had happened to the finger. Simply put, she had been attacked by an owl. The memory caused Nicholas to unconsciously flex his aching knuckles, he could feel the bones beginning to bruise, even now, “Someone sicked an owl on her. The bird just about took her finger off.” He’d seen an owl do just as much before, it wasn’t a fond memory.

Granted, he’d actually punched the owl’s owner first, but that was entirely beside the point. The American had insulted Aurora, he’d earned the broken nose. Still, no point advertising such.

“Entirely unprovoked.”

Opeila's smile did bring some warmth to him in his near-delirium. Even in the state he was in, exhausted and defiled, he was still capable of bringing joy to the people he cared about. Though his aspirations would likely never shrink to be so realistic, he was thankful he was capable of at least that much in the moment. Genuine smiles like the one she gave him were a gift he'd chase over and over, to any extreme. Luckily, today he only needed to dance.

Taking her hand and placing another on her waist, he would move in a familiar pattern. A simple waltz. While he wanted to be ever-vigilant and wary of danger, he would be practically incapable. Perhaps going out in such disrepair was just making the same mistake all over again-- being vulnerable and defenseless. Then again, he wasn't, now he was around people. His only real defense.

Despite what he wished he could just internalize and make disappear, he had told many people about what happened to him. He had followed Hess to prevent him from killing Erin, who was his teammate as well as a one-time savior. Once Hess had been quicker on his wand draw, the situation quickly deteriorated. Left alone with Marion, she revealed her true nature and cursed him thrice. It was only by the skin of his teeth that he managed to evade the final curse-- and therefore remember the hellacious event in all its gory detail. Contrary to what many had guessed, his eye had not changed, it was removed, with her finger.

The horrors had not stopped there, but he was trying to forget them. Trying to be a 13-year-old at a dance. His mind would never truly allow the melancholy dissipate, but distractions were useful. The movements were simple and practiced, the person he was with familiar and kind-hearted. For a while, the two moved together without speaking a word. This was a solemn moment, despite all the commotion around them. While Flash had danced with many girls, it had more often than not been an expression of skill or a display of flamboyant enthusiasm. This instead was two children holding on to one another in the cold of autumn, letting their worries dissolve into music and movement. He would likely remember the moment with deep fondness for as long as his memory lasted.

description of clothes which will be coming soon
[font=PT Sans]
.·:·.☽✧ 🎃 ✧☾.·:·. Current Specific Place : Entrance of Fall Ball (not here anymore but Alec was too cute I must have Hana retort to this) .·:·.☽✧ 🎃 ✧☾.·:·.

I don't know- you tell me, you have a surprisingly strong grip Hana. Are you going to tug my hand off? Do I need to have the nurse on standby? You must be out to get me, it's very obvious. The hand robber, I've heard of you before, I know your true identity.

Hanako was slightly taken back by his response. Taken aback, and then amused. Amused turned to a fit of chuckles. Who the hell says that? What was he doing? Being hyper-aware of any hand-holding with Alec Mason. Such a response did tell Hanako something important. That Alec was the least concerned about hand holding with Hana. The effect he had on Hana, was not returned. It’s cool. It was great. Nothing stung in his heart a bit. Feelings? Not in Hana’s dictionary.

Whatever it is you plan on doing, please tell me it is not going to be that. Hana, you look like a lost puppy.”

Suddenly aware of the face he made, Hanako stopped pleading and took a step back. Hanako didn’t even want to know what look he gave Alec. Whatever the hell that was, he would try to not do it again. “ Lost puppies are cute. If that doesn’t work, then your standards must be rather high.” Yes, it was Alec’s fault that he hasn’t swooned yet. Not Hana’s.

Excuse me?” Alec laughed “I think it would drive me off the bridge of sanity if there was a repeat in my head. That's evil-” Alec turned to face Hana, looking at him wide-eyed. “Your evil, I don't want that stuck in my head. I would take baby shark over that, and don't even get me started on that.” Alec said, his mouth hung open slightly. “It's not bad, I would just ultimately hate it. It's like a one and done thing, it's cool and all, but listening to it on repeat for an hour would be mental torture.” He stared. “There is no way you like it that much Hana.”

Hana merely shrugged with a sly smile on his face. Alec did know that if he said it was mental torture, Hanako’s want to see him play it would increase, right? The idea of someone going through something they’d rather not do- and yet still do it- was quite the romantic gesture in Hana’s eyes. “ Hey~. It’s just a suggestion~. Don’t take it as a request. Like I said, it would be a great birthday gift. Just saying~.”

Woah, I said your evil but I didn't mean it. Your not difficult to deal with, why would my ability to tolerate you disappear? Your nice, well, sometimes... Besides your fun to listen too when you have something too say.”

Confused. Hearing words like that, Hanako was still not used to. When someone had placed a label on you, (in this case; intolerable), it was hard to shake off. You hear it a few times here and there, and you remember it forever. While he had practiced listening to more compliments, it was still a bizarre thing. To have the expectation you assumed everyone else had of you, crumble just slightly. Hey, you’re not supposed to do that. Just sit still and it’ll make more sense. Well, it didn’t sit still now. And Hana still had trouble responding to something like that. He opted to not respond at all, and looked away from Alec’s eyes for a little while. Only for a short bit.

I can barely play, at least I think, I don't know. I started the summer before this school year. So I shouldn't be that good? That's how that works... I just think it would be less pressure to have someone listen who doesn't know what their doing. You'll be able to tell if it sounds bad or not, and I know you would have no reason not to be honest about it.

Well.. you do have a good point…” He really didn’t have any trouble being brutally honest about that. Not a lot of good reasons why Hanako shouldn’t agree. Except maybe that Alec is/might be dating Wyatt Starkey. Hanako was pushing dangerous lines just agreeing to be Alec’s date. “ We’ll see~” he responded after a while of pondering. Truthfully, he was hoping Alec would forget about it by the end of this night. Hanako’s relationship with Wyatt was already rocky enough, to begin with. It’ll only get rockier if Hanako starts hanging out with Alec more frequently. However tempting it was.

You're doing it on purpose now. Not that you weren't before. I repeat my statement that there is no way you like it that much. You're doing this to mess with me.

Ahh yess~” Hanako struggled to make himself verbally understandable with the chortles he was holding in. “ Because I have a history of feeling fulfilled by other people’s comfort and happiness~.” The last part was a slip of a tongue. Rule number 23 of Wooing, don’t bring up the bad sides about yourself unless you can make it sexy. He was not up to that level yet, but at least he said it sarcastically. Perhaps Alec couldn’t see the truths behind that sarcasm.

You won't settle for Beatles songs on piano?”

And there it was! Another comment where Hanako seriously questions Alec’s relationship with Wyatt. The small boy knew Beatles. At least, from the records Wyatt had in his room while Hana ‘hung around’ the other boy's room- without his notice- but anyway, Alec’s suggestion soured Hana’s room ever so slightly. Anyway, point is, Wyatt Starkey was a big fan of the Beatles. Therefore, maybe Wyatt had hunged out with Alec more than he though. “ Not my kind of music” he said a bit too quickly, eager to move on. " This is Halloween, Alec. C'mon. Take up the challenge~". Get peer pressures, Alec! or dont lmao

.·:·.☽✧ 🎃 ✧☾.·:·. Current Specific Place: Food Table .·:·.☽✧ 🎃 ✧☾.·:·.

How long did she take? Does it really take that long to get ready? Did she put you in multiple outfits before deciding what she wanted?” Alec snickered, “Lucky for you there is a plentiful amount of food in front of you.”

When she said she’ll make me try on clothes, I- like the normal person I am- would think three or four. But do you know how many clothes he got me to try on? Eight! Eight and for what? Don’t even get me started on the hair” Hanako was clearly annoyed by the memories resurfacing. Despite that, he did admit she really got the job done. Hanako could barely recognize himself when he looked at himself in the mirror. He looked ready to run a catwalk. Not that he wasn’t always ready for one before. A thank you wasn’t given though. He made a quick assumption that Katherine was allergic to such words. He’ll thank her later if he doesn’t get tackled to the ground by the end of this date.

Aren't you hungry?” Alec asked as he accepted his drink, Hanako took a glass of his own while he answered. “ Quite. Despite the slightly noisy stomach, I’m not that hungry. More like parched right now. I’ll take a few bites after this.” Sadly, that plan will not come true soon enough.

I'd drink a glass of whatever this is to that.” Alec sent a smile that automatically made Hana tempted to smile back. It was a nice feeling. Two people cheering for the same wish and goals. Perhaps with this, Hanako would’ve had rare confidence that this date wouldn’t be so horrible.

And that blooming confidence just had to crush down like a plane on fire. "Forgotten me so soon have you, monsieur?". Chess Combat had ended months ago. The injuries Hanako had gotten from his own incendio duos were healed as if it never happened. However, he didn’t need to turn his head to see who that attractive voice belonged to.

Not-Hot.(who was actually pretty hot but none of Hana’s nicknames ever made sense in the first place)

Hanako always thought he had pretty bad luck with the universe, but really? Again? Right after he cheered to a normal date? It took so much for the boy not to just call it a day and give up his date entirely, that he wasn’t able to say anything. Why today? Why now? Why him? Harmless flirty banter was just supposed to stay that way. Harmless. Quick, easy and done with after the event was over. Chess Combat was ages ago, but he supposed Not-Hot couldn’t help but come to greet Hana the minute he got the chance. Being so charming was a sin, truly.

The worst part about it was that Hana wouldn’t mind all that much about continuing what they started. But today though? While he had Wooing 101 to pass? Couldn’t he just flipendo Not-Hot right about now? No, because he was too busy chugging down his drink as if it was a remedy for his misery. Don’t talk, just drink.

Perhaps if Hana would stay quiet, Enzo might just shoo away. Hanako didn’t want to be that boring, but as the saying goes, ‘Boring company attracts boring conversations’. That's not a saying, but it made sense at the time. How wonderful it would be if Not-Hot simply stopped there before he said anything stupid that would jeopardize everything Hana worked so hard for.

I see you have settled for something...Less tasteful

Bye. Just bye. Hanako’s hope for a normal date just packed their bags, and said bye.

"Ah pardon my manners, I never even introduced myself. I am Enzo, a student at Beauxbatons".

Nobody asked. Nobody! Amazing. Now Hanako had a name to attach to that attractive face of his. There were so many things Hanako wanted to say. 99% of them are bad, the other 1% can’t be said because as of now, Hanako had a date and it wasn’t Not-Hot. Just seeing his ridiculous but rather attractive smirk on his face convinced Hanako that he didn’t need to give his name out. What he needed was to get the hell out.

"Val, come here!” Enzo/Not-Hot called out to a stranger among the crowds.” I have someone to introduce to you.It won't take too long, I swear."

Friends. As if Hanako wasn’t already clearly stressed about the situation. Hanako? Stressed? That says something. His whole Wooing 101 grade was riding on this! Who was Enzo, a short-lasting flirting fling, to come back and ruin it all?! Tearing away from the two other boys, he looked around the room to try to come up with a way to just exit asap. Would it be weird to just grab Alec’s hand and run? Having all these dilemmas’ in his head, Hanako only paid about 20% of attention to Alec’s response. Staying uncharacteristically silent until he came up with a concrete plan. What would Katherine do?

Gabriella should not have been surprised, having experienced multiple Hogwarts balls by this point, to find that the interior of the canvas tent was far, far grander than its exterior suggested. Strings and strings of fairy lights sparkled from the ceiling over a positive ballroom. Tables covered in food align the perimeters of the room, alongside various trinkets and statues which have been erected, it seems, purely for this event. They must belong to someone else, Gabriella thought to herself, maybe to the headmaster, or maybe they're just exquisite artefacts from the Hogwarts archives - they can't have been made just for this event, can they? Or maybe they're not real, and are just an illusion. That can probably be achieved with magic.

Gabriella didn't know why, but romance was still very much on her mind. As she scanned the room for anyone she knew, she couldn't help but see couples everywhere, a boy student and a girl student, holding hands or dancing together or doing anything else that might suggest a romantic relationship. Maybe there were some gay couples here too, Gabby thought, but maybe the same-sex pairs Gabby could see were friends, rather than anything else. She couldn't be sure. Either way, all these couples were making Gabriella feel positively lonely.

Come on, the Ravenclaw told herself, clicking her fingers as she often did when she was nervous or angry with herself. You're twelve years old. Most of these couples are probably older than you. A romantic relationship at age twelve is a mistake just waiting to be made. Unnecessary drama.

Trust me,
said Gabby's mother's voice in her head, you don't want to go off getting yourself involved in that sort of thing. Not yet. Wait until you're a bit older. Only Nina Haworth had never denoted how much older 'a bit' was, and, well, it had been a few months since Nina had said that to her... and she was at a ball...

Even so, she didn't know any boys apart from some she didn't really like very much, and she wasn't going to stride up to a random guy and ask hey, will you be my date? Anyway, she still had some dignity... or at least, she hoped so. She wasn't unattractive, Gabriella reassured herself, in fact, she was quite pretty. And she was on the Quidditch team, so people would know who she was. Gabriella groaned to herself and pushed the thoughts out of her mind, once more scanning the room for anyone she may know. Surreptitiously, she sidled over to the table of food and picked something up, chewing on it nervously at the edge of the room. A couple swooped into the middle, the girl's dress swooping round and round and round; the two were elegance epitomised, their faces full of love for each other; the man responding to every one of the girl's movements, whether grand or subtle, and she doing just the same, mirroring him, echoing him, catching him. They weren't just dancing with each other - they were dancing together. Gabriella sighed contentedly and watched them, waiting for someone she knew to arrive.

[font=Monotype Corsiva]Merlin was Enzo having a marvellous time already in the first few seconds of his arrival. An excellent idea on his part. He should really make it a habit of ruining dates more often if the outcome was going to be this spectacular. Even their facial expressions were absolutely priceless. They had given him everything he had wanted, and even possibly more. What darlings.

Damn, the lad in the red shirt seemed to be a little sour, rejecting his handshake and all. However, did Enzo even have a morsel of remorse in his body? Nope, never had and likely never will. It was all an act anyway. Enzo had already been pretty certain that the boy was not going to return the courtesy otherwise he never would have offered it up. Shaking one of these pricks' hands genuinely? What an utterly ridiculous notion.

Enzo could not help but notice that wink boy, who he initially had come for was awfully quiet and appeared to be keeping to himself. He had not spoken a word, and the French boy had to admit that was rather strange. In the brief time that Enzo had spent duelling the boy, he ran his mouth non-stop and there was never a dull moment. So what could have changed? Was that all a show then to appear more confident to the other opponents but was normally this quiet? Or perhaps was the boy just too enamoured with Enzo's ravishing personality that he became too shy to speak? Well, either way, the young wizard had something to say about it.
"You, has your tongue gotten lost?" He stated as he stared at wink boy, then paused a moment and frowned slightly at himself. Wait, that was not how the saying went in English, was it? His old tutor without a doubt would have had his head on a pike for this. Dammit, well no matter they surely would get the gist of it.

"Oui, obviously we have. At the summer duelling tournament, when we swept the little worms off their feet". He answered nonchalantly to the tall boy's inquiry, and just before another cheeky comment was about to roll off Enzo's tongue, the boy decided to attempt to give Enzo a taste of his own medicine.
"Ooo, really excellent try at insulting me. I truly appreciate the effort."
Enzo chuckled drily, though honestly meaning what he said. If someone puts the effort into finding something to call him out about, it frankly displays their commitment and how he must have really gotten to them. Gosh was this was only getting more interesting by the minute.

As Enzo was about to turn away and look to see where his friend was, he noticed at the last second a hand start to make its way over his head. Thank the gods for his natural gift of agility otherwise in just a few milliseconds he would have looked like a complete fool soaked in the sweet and probably very sticky party punch that was in the glass above his head.
Enzo stepped back just in the nick of time and watched as the drink landed in a puddle before his feet. Upon impact, the liquid sent drops flying everywhere, multiple even settling themselves all over the ends of his shoes. Enzo's jaw clenched, his gaze hardened, and he fought back the urge to whip out his wand and unleash hell on the jerk, but he stopped himself. The boy would certainly get what is coming for him, but first Enzo wanted to make it seem as if he had backed down. He would take the Hogwarts boy by surprise when he least expected it. Though how had he failed something so simple as pouring something on someone?
What was up with Hogwarts students and their aim? It was downright dreadful.
Back to what had happened, Enzo was puzzled. He had not done anything outwardly wrong to deserve that. Okay perhaps he had egged them on a tad, but it was all in good fun and he had not expected for the situation to take such a turn.
Then on top of everything to hear the culprit say 'it slipped', Enzo struggled, even more than before, to hold back.

Enzo tore his eyes away from the floor and they landed directly on the idiot. He then closed his eyes and inhaled to regain his composure. A few moments later he opened his eyes, then slowly stepped over the puddle, his stare reattaching back on the boy. Once Enzo was close enough to him he broke the eye contact and leaned forward before speaking up in a hushed tone.
"I don't know what's going on in that psychopathic head of yours or what you were trying to prove by that little stunt of yours, but you are lucky that it only got on my shoes." In truth ruining part of his outfit was reason enough for Enzo to knock some sense into the chap, however, he was trying to practice patience and restraint, well for now.
"But If you ever try some kind of shit like that again, you won't live to see another day, so count your blessings because I am feeling nice today" And with that Enzo took a few steps back then glanced back at wink boy. After a few seconds his eyes widened slightly in realization, it clicked. He found the reason for the unwarranted offence.
"I hope you were impressed monsieur, since that is what this is all about. I guess he is not all that different to you, both of you feel the need to attack someone to gain another's attention" He said, his smirk returning. On that note, perhaps it was time to leave the pair to stew in his spiteful words.

Roleplaying as iNPC Valentin Everbone - Ency

'Not bad...' Valentin thought as he dusted off his hands against each other, before picking up the glass and taking another large gulp of it's contents. He placed the glass back on the table and turned his back on the large table of food, looking back out into the growing gathering of students. People were actually dancing now too. Valentin wasn't a dancer, not that he couldn't dance, he had been shown how to do the classic Waltz, how to 'perform' more like, but he spotted nothing quite like happening on this particular dance floor.

Amongst the other students he soon caught sight of Enzo making his way towards him, the corners of his mouth beginning to turn upwards into a slight grin in response. His friend, obviously having spotted him as well, mirroring his own smile. His friend then stopped in his tracks, his attention clearly grabbed by someone else, Valentin recognised the expression on Enzo's face on turning back to face him, and responded to his friend's gesture with a single nod.

Valentin watched as his friend made his way to a pair of boys already entangled in their own conversation, he turned back to the table and swapped out his empty glass for another one. Before he could do so though, he heard his friend calling out to him, Valentin raised a finger in response to the boy, indicating that he would be there in a minute. Pausing to pop another one of the potato wedges back into his mouth, he soon finished off the second drink, what could he say, he was fairly thirsty and the glasses weren't all that big, and his presence had been requested.

Finding the trio of boys again from amongst the other students, he saw that his friend had clearly been up to his old tricks, speaking without a thought of the consequences, something he too was guilty of. Giving his jacket sleeves a quick brush down and adjusting his bow-tie for the second time this evening, he made his way towards the boys, his pace quickening as he saw one of the other boys 'spill' his drink in Enzo's direction, only just missing the boy. Valentin took up a position beside his friend, who was in the midst of what looked to be a heated conversation with the weak hand.

He waited until Enzo had stepped back from the boy before chiming in, "not a fan?" he asked the boy that had spilled the drink (Alec) as he eyed the spillage on the floor, knowing full well his friend was the target. Turning to his friend, Valentin moved closer to speak closer to his friend's ear, "what have I missed?" he said quickly to Enzo in a slightly quieter voice. "Valentin Everbone. Beauxbatons," he said to the two boys, feeling introductions, even in such tense situations, was the way to go, "come on Enzo, introduce your friends." His gaze shifted between the two boys before resting on the drink spiller, "or is ‘friends’ not the right word," he added with a little smirk.
