Moderation Post - New Addition
Made some edits to the mod post as I have been owled with new information.
Removing Astoria Swann and iNPC Eloise Duciel from this as they are absent and unable to post for several weeks. (I accidentally put both the PC and iNPC in one game, that's my bad).
However, @Pericles Dralt and @Lavinia Cloven's iNPC Irina will both be receiving their truth or dare (as chosen) by a special guest, @Mathias Pride to replace them. So watch this space. [This is also a mod note to confirm that Mathias has permission to post in this thread and wreck havoc on you all =p]
@Levi Drakos, you're under no obligation to change your post. However, if you wish to give Matt a truth/dare (his choice), you're very welcome to do so. (Your choice). Feel free to edit the original post (let Matt know if you do as tags won't work) or do another one, if you wish to (the goblet randomly decided to spit out another piece of paper at you, for some weird reason and you got given a second name).
This is my former staff account.
I also play: Serena Towers (Graduated PC), Arjan Oberoi (Graduated iNPC), Xiomara Torres (Current Student)

Pathetic.
Mathias arrived late, not because he was looking to miss out on the fun and games but rather because he wanted to have some fun. You see, there are those that intend to play but when faced with the premise of actually doing so, they recoil out of fear, uncertainity and unwillingness to explore anything beyond their safe, limited spheres. Frankly, it was hilarious to watch.
So Mathias would enter about ten minutes too late, after the pairs had been chosen -- truth or date. There was always one or two in this case that scurry off. Too embarrassed, too uncertain, too... well them to see this through. That was where Matt came in, fearless, pig-headed, potentially incredibly stupid Mathias Pride whom had as his name suggested one thing in excess and that was his pride but not necessarily his dignity.
When he saw a pair scurry off, their departure was announced with a slight laugh. "I will be replacing those two," he claimed as he took a seat and made himself comfortable. There was no awkward nervous glances or shifting in place, a look of mirthful confidence and yes, amusement.
He would be taking over for a truth question for a one @Pericles Dralt. He may as well start with the 'safe' one, the one that was too scared of picking a dare so they chose truth erroneously believing that to be a better option. The later would have been cheaper, a flirtatious act or something degrading that their peers bore witness to like wearing a full face of make-up or kissing a boy or a girl they liked (or disliked). Truths were the more dangerous option in his opinion because everyone has something to hide.
"Pericles Dralt, Ravenclaw Prefect," he designated himself as the question asker that would replace the prodigal player. "Tell us a story - the story of the greatest... yes, worst rules infraction you let by unpunished. The who, the when and the why." His bookish demeanor, pale face and kept appearance suggested the façade of a rule-follower, not breaker. that was the image the boy wanted everyone to see but appearances were rarely the truth, Mathias would know the benefit of a masquerade better than most.
"And you," he gestured towards a girl he had never met before. A girl from another school, feeling displaced. There was a mixture of students from varied schools but Hogwarts had the majority. She was likely feeling isolated, alone despite the fact that there were so many others in the same room. Her name was Irina Afanasyeva (@Lavinia Cloven's iNPC) and she did not belong. She knew it, he knew it and he was going to have some fun with it. She chose dare, likely a bid to garner the acceptance of her peers. To show that she was daring, willing to go with the flow, that she was perhaps 'cool.' "Lick the side of his," he pointed at Levi Drakos "face." She did not know him, she would likely never see him again. That was the problem with dares and outsiders - really what embarrassment they bring to themselves will be forgotten, isolated to a remote experience witnessed by people she would likely never see again. Levi however, well sucks to be him.
"As for me," a half smirk directed at his victim. Yes, he would find a way to victimize the lad even when the dare was not his to endure. "Will take a dare," allegedly from @Levi Drakos.

As 2 of your players have not posted, I am serving as their replacement. I was told that Pericles required a truth and Lavina's NPC a dare. I was also told to pick a truth or dare and that it would end up falling onto Levi. Feel free to message me if anything is off.

Wasn’t it lovely, taking part in such a game? That was if you knew how to ask and dare. There was a trick to it, a formula so to speak, do something that lasts, not washed away by sleep. Maybe in a few days some popular wizard in a higher year would sneak up and slam you on the back, congratulating you for just being so cool. No one did that if you asked about dream jobs or challenged someone to attempt fifty push-ups. Then you were only another player gathered around the goblet, ready to minorly inconvenience some unsuspecting child.
Levi had just fallen back onto a beanbag, ready to receive his dare and watch the chaos unfold with a playful grin playing on his lips. Hazel eyes came to rest back on the violet blaze, swaying lightly above the shining goblet, studying it as various students would put their choices in and watch one spit back out at them, as though the taste was foul. Among sprouting teenagers indulging shamelessly, it still danced, untouched, but there was a ripe angst to the flame when another slip bloomed from its core, landing on Levi’s leg. Eyebrows furrowed, his hand would fumble picking it up, though when the words came into focus, the boy’s grip tightened.
Mathias Pride - Dare
Oh, oh yes. Great Goblet, you have rectified every wrong every done by fate’s radioactive touch, for this gift will not go unappreciated. Oh, it will not be wasted. His stare, irises dilating and twinkling, glided skyward, scanning the thinning crowd for the “Mathias Pride” he wanted it to be. The tree, the scrawny copper-haired catastrophe. The one person who brewed fear that the Gryffindor couldn’t swallow, as a pit would form in his stomach and fill with tar before leaking from his pores and leaving scars on every inch of porcelain, pure flesh. Then, an epidemic; every hand he touched, every doorhandle, his own wand, the vines would twirl around and seep. He shivered, but that playful smile had melted into something far more sinister.
Surely, he’d stick out in a pool of innocents... located. Sauntering around and torturing people, judging by how happy he looked. There would be no fifth year applauding his efforts, no. He did this for the pain, for the red heat to creep up their cheekbones. Thriving on destruction, unlike Levi, who thrived on power. They weren’t the same, not since the Confession, which would subsequently be playing its part in this dare. There were a million questions sticking to the crevices of Levi’s mind, yet Percematt—Mathias, whatever—knew better than to give those an outlet outside of waking dreams.
The slip of paper was reduced to slightly torn wrinkles in his left fist as he marched over, chin tilted up to look him in those dead eyes. “Mathias, so that is your name?” How had he fooled the professors into believing that? Even worse, if you’re trying to secure a fake identity, why choose the name Percival? “I’m to give you a dare. Winnie,” The brunet would jab his left thumb in her direction in case he’d forgotten, “I want you to go over there and tell her that you, “Mathias Pride”,”—yes there were finger quotes—“hate her and wish you’d never met. No less, no more.”
A more sympathetic boy would see that this dare was just as detrimental to Winnie as it was Percematt. The beautiful starlight of a girl was just close enough that the idea had hit him like a train, none of the cargo consisting of compassion or empathy for his former interest. Just countless boxes labelled ‘Wrath’. Levi had been so thrilled with himself that he was bouncing on his feet with a devilish, toothy smile pinned directly beneath his eyes. I can play offense, too.

| Answering @Mathias Pride |Truth-or-dare had all the bearings of a silly, innocent event. Eat something gross. Kiss someone pretty. No one was obligated to play along, given that the only enforcers here were pride and peer pressure. There was nothing to lose, if maybe a wee bit of dignity, and it could be played in countless fashions. In Pericles' case, Truth served as a tool. He was curious about Stavrou and what brought a person like her happiness. Tell me the nicest thing that's ever happened to you isn't exactly the sort of thing one asks in casual conversation, and frankly, he was too starstruck to manage an informal greeting with her, let alone a normal discussion. It was an innocent opportunity to break the ice. But something insidious was oozing into their little game, like oil darkening a clear pool. Truth-or-dare also offered the opportunity to be cruel and cunning.
"Tell us a story - the story of the greatest... yes, worst rules infraction you let by unpunished. The who, the when and the why."
Pericles drew a short breath. An abrupt change washed over him, as though he had been dashed with cold water: sitting straighter, delicate smiles and boyish fumbling replaced by a flat line of the lips and fixed tunnel-vision stare. There was no did you ever do such a thing, it was not a question of if. One would not be faulted for mistaking the expression for indignance, as the question carried a bold audacity, a piercing presumptiveness. But it was not that, because Mathias wasn't wrong. The temptation to feign ignorance flickered and snuffed out in the same second. He didn't want to lie, he wanted to play, though this was not easily answered. Some may have seen the stall as wavering over whether or not to tell. Others might grasp that he had been negligent enough times to warrant multiple stories.
The first instance was too small and too silly to count. Kyle DeRook had thrown Lydia Cooper into the Great Lake, though it wasn't as if the witch was hurt, and Pericles opted instead for a warning. He would become less lenient about the lake as time went on. Honestly, why were students so obsessed with tossing one another into it...? It was not much of a story. Of course, there was the time he and multiple other second-years had snuck off to Hogsmeade, in which he was among the rule-breakers. But then, they had done so in search of answers to the troubles plaguing Hogwarts, not simply for fun and games. They were only trying to help. "Worst" was the word Mathias had used. An unhappy memory came to mind, in which he witnessed someone picking an unconscious boy's pockets before drawing his blood. The who was his best friend, the when was March, and the why was because, well, he couldn't possibly tattle on a friend. What if he lost her...? She was only trying to help, too, in her own way. He didn't understand, but it must have been the right thing to do. He was sure of it. That didn't even count. They just wanted to learn and set things right.
Pericles had drifted off into the ether of overthinking. It was a familiar enough look for him, that faraway stare, as though he were daydreaming deeply. Only this time, his lips were joyless and his forehead was furrowed. He had settled on an answer. While it was hardly a secret, the truth lay in the fact that he still felt some manner of guilt, or at least doubt for his own actions. Peering guardedly back at the boy he hardly knew, Pericles confessed quietly: "I didn't stop my housemates from entering the Forbidden Forest. I went with them, because I was curious." Not because he "knew" there was an answer waiting for them out there, or because he was "sure" he could not stop them all. Sure, Pericles was not responsible for the actions of his entire house, but he had not even tried to stop or dissuade them. Lives were risked because a silly scholar had wanted to know things he wasn't meant to, in a place he was forbidden from.

Was Levi familiar with the Moneky's Paw, a famed supernatural short-story by W. W. Jacobs in 1902. In the story, three wishes are granted to the owner of The Monkey's Paw, but the wishes come with an enormous price for interfering with fate. There was hardly fate being toyed with here in a game of truth and dare, but there was an interference with Mathias' will. That too came at a terrible cost. Using the supernatural powers of The Monkey's Paw, the Whites wished for money only to receive the money after their son was involved in a fatal accident, the bending of a singular finger left two more. A second to wish for his return; and finally a wish for his disappearance.
This would prove no different for Drakos as Mathias complied with a glint in his eye. First, Winnie saw the dare. She knew it came from Levi and not from Mathias. He would have spent his time better seeking a girl with similar or superior features that he could embrace, kiss, profess his affections to so that he might suffer the ire of hurricane Harper.
A deal with Faust made, without a word Mathias would saunter over to Winnie. She had arrived before he had, she did not even know that Pride was playing. Hell, he did not know until a few minutes ago. He leaned down a bit and made eye contact as he said the following phrase exactly as Levi dictated moments earlier. "You Mathias Pride", yes he emulated Levi's air quotes as well. "Hate her and wish you’d never met. No less, no more.” And with the conclusion of the rather odd phrase he would stand back to his full height, adjust the glasses that had slid ever so slightly down the bridge of his nose and return to his place on the other side of the room.
"Works better when they don't know it is a dare, friend." Mathias reminded him with a slight curl to his mouth. It was an entertaining challenge, ruining Levi's life in particular was an entertaining diversion. The boy had a knack for making things better for Matt unknowingly through his hatred. Like now, when his potential rival for Winnie's affections, compliance, whatever it was that he wanted from her, had just given Mathias an incredible advantage.
He would look over at Pericles, he was mildly interested in what the teen had to say. Admittedly sneaking into the forbidden forest was not among the possibilities that had run through the youth's head. Not as juicy as one would hope. He would have to set-up a playdate with the Ravenclaw some future time. "Dralt the bad boy," Mathias would announce in reply. A phrase that none would likely ever hear again.

Interacting with @Pericles Dralt & @Earl GrayTruth had been the safer option, or she had believed.
Phaedra grew absorbed at the grass below her feet, fingers twiddling at her sleeve as she considered her options. The kindest thing anyone had ever done for her? Did having a relatively comfortable upbringing count when that was what parents were supposed to do? She was certainly thankful for that, but it could be seen as luck anyway. What about material possessions? That wouldn't work either. Too easy. Merlin, what was something she couldn't put a price on?
“Getting all sentimental on me, Dralt?” Phaedra joked, her voice nonetheless carrying an obvious edge. It wasn't often she opened up like this. She tapped her chin, deep in thought. Come on, it shouldn't take this long to answer. “Fine. I won't lie to you. Let's see. I guess...” A pause, as she peered through her lashes to gauge Pericles' response. “Understanding me?”
Phaedra did not have many friends. Acquaintances, co-workers, and several enemies, yes, but no one to really vent to, a result of building her own walls as a shield from the inevitable heartbreaks that had made themselves so common in her life. “Merlin. That probably sounds really stupid. But you know what I mean. Err...unconditional acceptance?” she clarified, hands motioning wildly in hopes that it would assist in her rambling.
Anyone experienced in puppy love would notice the mindless, infatuated way that Phaedra began to run her hands through her hair in reminiscence. “You ever had someone like that? Someone you can sit in a comfortable silence with without feeling the need to fill it? Those are the best kinds of friendships.” That was all she could divulge, but it was probably enough for Pericles. “Now don't go off blabbing, Dralt. I've an image to uphold.”
Tanned shoulders slumped, and feeling neutral about her answer to her fellow Ravenclaw, she spun and caught sight of the student she was assigned to give a dare to. Replacing her cautious tone from earlier, a mischievious smirk crept onto her face at the Hufflepuff. “Earl Gray,” she half-announced, a hand on her hip. “I like ghost stories. So. I dare you to pretend you're possessed. For the next five minutes. Are you up to it?” This would be interesting.Written on mobile--sorry if bad. Also, Earl: dare is different than the one I owled you about; just in case knowing people to do it was difficult.

Part II.V/III (Round 1)
Part I
───Having been standing next to Levi as she gave Tina her dare, it was then that Winnie realized that someone very precious to her was also present. She had been hoping Mathias Pride was placed in her group, but she hadn't seen him hanging around before the game started so she had assumed he was placed elsewhere.
The mere sight of the Slytherin caused her heart to flutter wildly against her chest. She was still confused about her feelings every time she saw Matt; it was undeniable that she adored him, but his presence also left her flustered, and sometimes even a little... Frustrated? He seemed to bring with him a spark that ignited something locked deep inside of her as if something within her was trying to claw its way through her foggy mind. It didn't make sense, because, aside from Jack Warren, it was Mathis Pride that she trusted most in the world. There were little events that she seemed unable to recall, but luckily he was always there to fill in the blanks for her. He was her anchor, grounding her as the rough waves of an ocean storm battered her and tried to drag her down.
It was with a dreamy smile that she greeted him. She would quickly pat down her hair, ensuring she looked okay. “Mattie,” the name left her lips as a soft tune, a song that she would gladly sing until the day's end. “Are you enjoying yourself?” She asked him softly. It definitely seemed like he was. She reached out for his hand, grasping it and interlocking their fingers.
Soon Levi was whispering something to him in a hushed tone. The Gryffindor seemed exhilarated, and that toothy smile was contagious. Winnie was curious about what had ignited it. She had no idea Mathias and Levi were so close! The thought of a friendship between the two of them warmed her heart. She was fond of the boy. She couldn't recall why, but... Somehow she knew they were friends, which meant that she was happy that he was enjoying himself.
It was then that Matt would turn to her and adjust his stance to meet her height. A blush graced her features when their eyes met. With that statement, however, her brows quickly knit together and she was left balking at the boy through her confusion. "W-What...?" Her voice broke at first as she pieced together the interaction. Matt had spoken in the third person. Despite the usual, erm... delay of her cerebral functions, she pieced the puzzled together before the Slytherin's comment towards the Gryffindor.
The fire within her erupted. Here came Hurricane Harper indeed. She fixed her venomous gaze onto the Gryffindor. She released her hold on Mathias' hand and would attempt to half-heartedly shove the boy in her anger. (Feel free to dodge. She did not shove hard). "You... You dared him to say that to me?!" She hissed at the boy. "Why? Why would you do something so mean?" The sting of his betrayal hit her. The ship was rocking violently and she was gulping down the salty seawater. "T-That's... That's not a funny dare, Levi... You're my friend... What if I had actually thought Matt meant that?" She was quickly losing her thunder, her blue eyes cloudy with salty tears.

@Phaedra Stavrou and @Winnie Harper
Earl anxiously waited for his turn. The slip of paper which he'd been given was a work of art. The name of his partner written in elegant purple ink which warmed whenever he ran his fingers over it. He knew the girl. She'd been in his transfiguration class. Sat right by the door, a heavy clock hanging behind her head. Earl had spent way too much time staring at that clock, willing it to go just a little faster. So, he knew the top of her head very well. And not much else.
Walking over to her side and praying to the Suli Saints she wouldn't recognize him, he showed her the piece of paper. "Hi," he said, tapping her on the shoulder. "Sorry I got roped into this." Handing her the slip of paper, he turned to survey the room. Now that Draven was no longer glaring at him, he found that he could breathe again. Wide gray eyes scanned the little group of people which had gathered in their corner. "Um..." his mind was blank. Her gaze made his skin burn, dark red crawling up his neck and cheeks. He didn't want people to see him like this. With the hair which seemed to have been chopped up by a crab, and the ill fitting clothing, and the dark circles under his eyes. He was too thin to look healthy, too pale to seem alive. His mind had gone blank. Completely, and utterly blank. All he could think of was her eyes on him, static playing over and over in his mind.
"I.....fluff... I don't know."
What had Daisy dared him last. She always loved dares. She'd dared him to...now the flush on his cheeks was no longer from embarrassment. "Kiss someone...I don't know. If you want. And if they want. And stuff." Swallowing hard, hand going to run through his hair by habit and then finding nothing there, Earl made a grandiose gesture towards the group of people they were near. "He's cute." he said, nodding towards one of the boys.
His name was called out. Head snapping up, his eyes met that of an elegant looking girl. She was graceful, dressed beautifully, chestnut brown hair framing her face, lips turned up in a grin. In all honesty, she seemed to be the mom friend in every friend group. But then again, Earl loved jumping to conclusions.
"I dare you to pretend you're possessed." For the first time in what seemed like forever, Earl cracked a smile. It was an eerie thing. Not his usual bubbly laughter. No, this smile was strange. Didn't quite reach his eyes. "Okay."
As they watched, the color begun to leak out of his hair and skin. The baby blue hair slowly turned a sickly white, from the roots to the tips, blue getting devoured by the unpleasant shade. He'd already been fairly pale to begin with, but the redness in his cheeks, the slight pink tint to his skin, it was gone. And then his eyes turned black. The pupil expanded outwards, covering the white, leaving the two girls staring at two black pits. If he tilted his head just so, colorless lips hanging open just a little...the picture was complete. He was the child in every horror movie. Black eyes and ill fitting clothing. Innocence twisted, made into something to terrify. "My friend," he said in a whispery, wheezing voice. "he...talks..to me...." the words seemed to come from deep inside him. "He's...in..in my head."
Stepping closer to Mom Friend, his hand circled his wrist. "He wants...to talk...to you...to." His skin was freezing. "He...doesn't...he doesn't like you."

When he had put his name into the goblet he hadn't been too sure what would come of it. A game of truth or dare was nothing new to him, but the way his dormmates had played it had been anything less than ethical. Percival had hoped that he would have been able to play with Hanako. Though, when the other had shown up to his group he noted that the shorter boy was nowhere to be found. It seemed that he would be alone in this.| Outfit |
As the boy looked at the different faces of the others in his group. He found himself unable to place any of their faces. It seemed that he has paired with nothing more than strangers. Though, a part of him was glad he would not have to worry about an enemy gaining his dare. He was not too sure he wanted to know how well that would turn out.
Percival looked down at the small piece of paper in his hand. The boy opened it up looking at the name written down into it. 'Mono Freegale' A small frown crossed his features as he attempted to recognize the name. As nothing dawned on him he began to suspect this student was in a grade below him. With a soft huff, Percival glanced about the group trying to find someone who had yet to find their partner.
His eyes caught on a blond boy sitting by himself. He looked quite happy a bit too happy to be anything more than a fresh-faced first year. Percival glanced down at the note finding a small smirk across his features as he saw that the other had chosen a truth. The boy sat up walking over towards the other. Showing him the paper with his name on it. "Alright, what is your most embarrassing moment?" he asked with a raised brow. A smirk worming its way onto his facial features.

Part III/III (Round 1)
───Rage.
That is what she felt when Earl Gray approached her to propose his dare. She recognized the boy since they were in the same year, but just barely. It looked like someone had drained him of the usual cheerful spirit and the playful twinkle in his eyes. Gone were the bubblegum pink locks that Winnie had envied. The poor boy.
Had Winnie been in a better mood, she would have likely asked him if he was okay or if he at least needed something to eat or drink. Unfortunately for him, she had just discovered Levi’s betrayal, and when she turned to ‘greet’ him it was with a rather pink and wet face. "What?" She asked him, watching as he gestured towards Levi. "... What?" She repeated.
Why Levi? Had Earl witnessed her screeching at him and thought it would be funny? No, she didn’t know the boy well, but she knew that didn’t seem like something he would do. Perhaps he didn’t enjoy seeing the two of them fighting and wanted them to ‘kiss and makeup’? Whatever the reason, she didn’t blame the boy and wouldn’t be able to anyway as he was soon off pretending to be possessed in a way that Winnie would find rather humourous under different circumstances.
She redirected her attention to Levi, her brows still furrowed. Normally a dare of this nature would leave her flustered and perhaps unable to complete it, but she was still riding through the waves of her anger. She reached up and used both her hands to grab the Gryffindor’s jaw. Her nails likely grazed his skin through her aggression. She would use his face as leverage to pull him down until he matched her eye level. Blue met hazel. Yes, he was another boy whose eyes caused her to feel weak in the knees. Earthy hues swirled together to form perfection. Why must they all have hazel eyes? Curse him.
She leaned forward until she was a half-inch away from his face. So close that she could count his every eyelash and feel his hot breath against her lips. Slowly, she tilted his head downwards and leaned in, their lips almost brushing.
Then, as suddenly as she had gripped the boy, she would turn his head and press her lips against his cheek. "I’m not cruel enough to steal your first kiss from you, Levi." She would say once she had pulled back. Yes, first kiss, because she no longer remembered witnessing the tongue hockey he had been forced to play with her supposed boyfriend.
Would this complete Earl’s dare? She was uncertain. It was with a huff that she released him and withdrew. She would instead walk over to Mathias. She gripped the unsuspecting boy by the collar of his shirt and tugged him forward, perhaps with a bit more aggression than necessary, given he was supposedly her boyfriend. Due to his stature, she still had to push her heels off of the ground and balance herself onto her tiptoes to reach him. And then, before he had a chance to say anything, she would close the distance between and kiss him. A solid, unpretentious, honest kiss. Though it was perhaps a bit wet and sticky due in part to her prior crying and her strawberry lip-gloss, she wasn’t completely inexperienced in the kissing department and could fit her warm lips against his own without bumping into his nose.
Action: Completeing Earl's dare.
Note: I have permission from both Matt and Levi to 'kiss' their characters, but they may, of course, still roll to dodge if they would like.
