Morigwynn Mulcair | First Year | Ravenclaw
Description:
You see a young girl with long, parted, jet black hair and gray-blue eyes, typically with a mildly gloomy or pensive expression, even if her small mouth has a soft smile on it. She's slightly pale, without visible scars or birthmarks, and stands about 4'7 in height (~140cm). Her voice is soft, melodic and perhaps a bit quiet, as if she's never raised her voice in her life.
Personality:
Quiet and somewhat timid, she still has to find her confidence now that she's out of the 'nest', as it were. She's quite curious and inquisitive once she finds something, or someone, that's taken her attention or interest, and has a good deal of wanderlust. Furthermore, she's also somewhat of a daydreamer, often seeming distracted and elsewhere with her thoughts, fidgeting with things in her hands. Once she does set her mind to something though, she can be surprisingly clever. She's perceptive and earnest, though when she -does- lie, she tends to play with her hair as a dead giveaway, most of the time.
Background:
Somewhere nestled in the hills of Northern Ireland, near the muggle town of Derry, lies the small wizardry community of Stillfen. Once you'd step past the wards intended to conceal the place from muggles and unfriendly eyes, you'd be greeted by the sight of a good number of cozy, beautiful or imperious manors and mansions, large gardens stretching over rolling hills, surrounded by mysterious woodlands, and with little waterways curling and twisting their way through the community. Near the top of one of these hills, wrapped around an ancient looking tower, and surrounded by beautiful gardens, lies the imposing Mulcair Manor. This is where Morigwynn was raised, surrounded by wealth and beauty.
And life was wonderful, especially as the youngest of three siblings. She was often free to do as she pleased, and still remains her mother Saoirse's favorite to this day for her quiet and clever demeanor, in comparison to her talkative and boisterous older brother and sister. Her father, Callum, was often working his Ministry job at irregular hours, but when he was home, he was stern, proud and fair. And when he was being overly stressed or serious, Saoirse always knew what to do or say to get him to lower his guard. They were, and still are, a bit of a strange couple, not for anything outwardly visible, but he works as an Obliviator for the Ministry, and she's an artist of magical portraits, the moving and talking kind that embody whom a person used to be. In essence, he makes people forget, and she makes sure people are remembered. The irony has not been lost on them, either.
Morigwynn's own first instance of magic happened when she was just about seven years old, and she and her brother Aodhan were arguing over some toys during Christmas, and he'd said something rather nasty. While her mother was trying to console her, Morigwynn was giving her brother a death stare that made her mother's glass of water freeze over, up until her brother was made to apologize by their parents, upon which the water unfroze like nothing had ever happened. It was a moment of pride for the parents, sure, though it had practically been expected, considering both of her siblings were already at Hogwarts. And so her 'magical moment' was celebrated less than her siblings'. This would end up becoming a running thing, as her siblings made accomplishments in Hogwarts she could only still dream of. When her own letter finally came, it almost seemed like a simple formality to the family.
But, there was nothing in the way of her growing up as a hale and healthy child, with a rich upbringing (in more ways than one), and a small community where everyone knew one another. She mostly enjoyed homeschooling from her mother, though such was also occasionally left in the hands of friends of the family, whom also lived in Stillfen. There had been a fair number of other children within Stillfen, though she never made any big connection with others, despite playing games and the like. Morigwynn was very much the type of child to be stuck in their own little world, dreaming of the stories and adventures her parents had read to her, and ones she'd read herself. Their imagination never let them be too bored, which was a good thing too, for when her siblings were both gone to Hogwarts, the house was rather quiet at times. So quiet that even she would've preferred the loudness of her siblings, over the sometimes eerie creaking and noises of the large manor. In the end, it seemed she'd made peace with the feeling of being alone.
Despite being told not to, she was always nice and polite to their house Elf, named Dubble, as he'd often been told to redo any work he'd done from scratch, in the past. She never did understand why no one was friendly to a creature that did so much for the household, and her questions were always dismissed as the naïvety of a child. The same thing was for the topic of pure blood, for her family had the general consensus of "Let others do as they like, so long as our blood remains pure.", or at least such was said on the surface. Though when Morigwynn asked questions about such things, she'd always been dismissed with the same old excuses. "You'll understand when you're older.", they'd say.
Now, however, it was time for her own journey in the real world, and it was difficult to know how to feel. There was excitement, to be sure, how could there not be? But also a certain pressure, to do at least as good as her siblings, to do her family proud, to do as one was told and don't start trouble... A long list of expectations that she didn't quite know what to do with, as her mind still lingered on the dreams and imaginations she'd grown up with. The seed of a question had begun to grow in her mind: Who did she -want- to be?. A question that some people struggle with for their entire lives...

Morigwynn Mulcair | First Year | Ravenclaw
Family
Direct family:

- Father: Callum Mulcair, Obliviator for the British Ministry of Magic. He is stern, proud, and fair in his dealings, though often seems to be in a rather serious mood. Enjoys puzzles and riddles of all kinds, and a good bit of theatre.

- Mother: Saoirse [ser-she] Mulcair (Saoirse Concanen before the wedding), Professional Magical Portrait Artist. She loves encaptivating a person's likeness within the animated paintings that are well-known within the wizarding world, though the secrets behind such are well-kept. She's also an avid gardener as a hobby. She's witty, warm, and always seems to know what to say.
<picture pending>
- Sister: Aisling [ash-ling] Mulcair, whom is 16 years old and is a 6th year student at Hogwarts, within House Griffindor. She's outgoing and brave, and a polar opposite to her younger sister in most cases.
<picture pending>
- Brother: Aodhan [aidan] Mulcair, whom is 13 years old and is a 3rd year student at Hogwarts, within House Hufflepuff. He's a creative goofball that can seem a little callous, at times.

Magic & Knowledge
Wand:
27,5cm cherry wood and unicorn hair
Stiff, very effective for unspoken spells, perfect for defense spells.
Reducio
Cherry Wood:
This very rare wand wood creates a wand of strange power, most highly prized by the wizarding students of the school of Mahoutokoro in Japan, where those who own cherry wands have special prestige. The Western wand-purchaser should dispel from their minds any notion that the pink blossom of the living tree makes for a frivolous or merely ornamental wand, for cherry wood often makes a wand that possesses truly lethal power, whatever the core, but if teamed with dragon heartstring, the wand ought never to be teamed with a wizard without exceptional self-control and strength of mind.

Unicorn Hair:
Unicorn hair generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. They are the most faithful of all wands, and usually remain strongly attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch or wizard.
Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may ‘die’ and need replacing.
