Combat Training
Madeline was a little out of breath when an older brunette girl walked up and began speaking to her. She had just performed a few quick spells for the first time since leaving school for the Summer Holiday, and was left a little winded.
"How has your practice been? I’ve noticed you have a significant affinity for spellcasting. I am a duellist currently, on the Blazing Badgers team. Would you like if we train together, perhaps, as if we are dueling officially? These dummies have a higher difficulty, as they move. My name is Smyrnidi Eugenia. Yours?"
She was surprised by the sudden appearance of the older girl, but was happy to have someone to talk with. "Hi, my name is Madeline." she paused for a small breath and continued, "Madeline Howard. I have only really just started my practice for the day, and I am a bit out of practice, as well as breath. It is really too bad that the Ministry does not allow us to practice at home. I could get in so much practice, and maybe learn new spells if I was allowed to practice at home..." Madeline realized that she was beginning to ramble on - as she was want to do when someone spoke to her about something about which she was passionate. She took a breath to try to steady herself, and then registered what Eugenia had said - she was a duelist and wanted to train with her. What luck!
"YES!" she half shouted, startling herself with her abrupt answer. "I would love to practice with you on dueling. I have applied to be on my house dueling team, but I am still on the wait list. I have never actually had a proper duel with anyone. I have practiced with people before, and then the dummies here... Wait, did you say the dummies move?! That is brilliant! I missed seeing that somehow. I must have gotten lucky that I hit this one without knowing that it was moving..." Madeline stopped herself with a sheepish breath. She was rambling again, and it was even worse this time. After a second breath she looked the older girl in the eyes and did her best to calmy reply, "Yes, I would love to practice dueling with you - but you may need to teach me the official rules. And don't you go thinking that you need to go easy on me since I'm younger... I want to learn, and sometimes taking the hit is the best way to learn."

⚔︎ | MAGNUS BLACKWOOD ───────── xx CODED BY ELENA CLARK |
⚔︎ Magnus Wasn’t one to usually participate in useless things but for once this actually seemed to benefit him quite a lot. Magnus was someone who well he would never admit it but he had a habit of always getting into fights and most of the time it was others patching him up. He honestly was tired of having to rely on people, he was tough and strong so he should also be able to bandage himself up. So when he saw an area with medical dummy’s being practiced on by other students it seemed like a sign from heaven himself. Sure this was purely just for his use but it could benefit others around him like for instance what if Vasilius ever gets hurt, not that Magnus would let that happen but never hurt to have a precaution right ? Besides it could when when Vasilius is nervous and starts to pick at his fingers in case they bleed or something.
But then there was someone else Magnus felt it could help out just like him. That Theodore kid he was sharing a tent with, he seemed extremely accident prone and if Magnus had to guess get into fights as well so maybe Magnus could be generous and patch the boy up, if he felt like it of course. He took a look at the dummy he was working on and the different injuries it had. This is quite stupid..none of these look like anything a fighter would experience which isn’t too helpful.. He sighed as suddenly he realized something, he hadn’t felt the eye of that annoying toad since he been here, at least not yet. Harvey was..well he was a pain in Magnus ass, Magnus could not stand him and absolutely dreaded it. He was as worse as his monster of a father but he guess they say like father like son for a reason.⚔︎

Cabin: The Co-Op CabinGemini was no stranger to physical activities- being raised a half-blood had its perks, more often than not. While strength wasn't always his strongest suit, his frequent adventuring both in school and at home really didn't exactly leave him defenceless, either.
Walking out onto the grounds, he felt a small thrill, almost a toned-down version of the feeling right before he launched into debate. Grinning, he increased his pace, deciding to go around the track a few times to warm up, getting the layout of the stations as he did.
I guess there won't be a lot of purebloods here that weren't forced to attend, but maybe wizard-born kids. Not that it really matters though, even in Hogwarts alone we've got a little of everyone, combined with all the others joining us this summer, I'd bet we're gonna have fun acting as the International Co-Operation guys.
He slowed down, scanning over all the new faces and finally settling on the decently familiar one of a cabinmate. Adding just a little weight to his steps to make them audible, Gem made his approach noticeable, hoping not to startle her when he walked up and tapped her on the shoulder.

When Xio walked onto the Combat Training Grounds, she took a deep big breath in and a wide excited smile started to creep across her mouth. Almost like someone had dared her, she started booking it across the track at full speed, her feet stomping against the ground with every sprint. She giggled excitedly and loudly as she ran, which may have drawn the attention of those around her, but the feeling of the wind in her hair and the thumping of the ground against her feet made her feel free and liberated.
"whooooooohooooooo!"
After running about four laps around the track in around ten minutes, almost an equivalent of one mile, she finally began to slow down as her initial burst of energy was finally simmering down. She found some water nearby and took a greedy sip to quench the thirst that was driven from the sprinting. Near where she found the water was the small medical tent.
She popped her head inside and immediately her nose crunched up due to the sterile smell the tent gave off from all the Muggle medical supplies within.
After taking look at the stock, she picked up a fabric that was a sling, but to her, it was a strange contraption. She tried to see how it would be applied, and after many failed attempts; over her head, over her leg, wrapped around her gut; she decided to just put it back. Then she picked up a cold pack and examined it carefully, it didn't feel cold initially so she didn't understand why it said 'cold' pack. until she accidentally snapped the insert on the inside and the chemical reaction caused it to get colder, shocked by the reaction, she quickly tossed the cold pack back onto the table, she definitely did not like that sensation.
Regardless of her caution with the "muggle artifacts" before her, she was absolutely fascinated with each of every one of them. Her favorite was the bandages, she was extra curious with the sticking ability it possessed but quickly regretted her curiosity when the band-aid she placed on her arm was not immediately coming off.
"uh oh...did I just mess up?..."

Bella Light was surprised to see that there was combat training at Hogwarts. Her parents said nothing at all about stuff like that. She thought it was mostly just wand and potions at Hogwarts, though it logically made sense that they would practice fitness and physical strength, too, in case someone wanted to live and work in the Muggle world.
Bella took a look at the running track but had absolutely zero interest in it. She had enough practice with the mile run at her Muggle Schools. She wasn’t bad at her physical education class, but she just didn’t like it compared to some other classes. What she was surprised, though, was that there was a medical tent with Muggle medical supplies. However, what shocked her the most was seeing her friend, Xio, inside the tent!
“Hey Xio! How are you?” Bella asked. She took a look at Xio’s slightly panicked face and her anrm with a bandage on it and instantly understood. Xio is a pureblood and had slightly less interaction with Muggle supplies.
“Is it not coming off? It’s okay, bandages are supposed to be sticky. It might hurt, but just rip it off. Do you want my help?” She asked, laughing a bit.

When @Bella Light approached Xio in the Medical Tent, she could tell that Xio might've just finished running because she had a thin layer of sweat on her skin and was slightly still out of breath. When Bella noticed the band-aid, and explained to Xio how it worked, she turned pale for a moment. Xio's eyes shifted between the band-aid on her arm, then back at Bella, then back at the band-aid. As if the situation hadn't (and probably wouldn't) fully process in her mind.
"Bella!...R...Rip it off?! Why would it stick and then you need to take it off?? It doesn't make sense? What a redundant thing...the life of a Muggle is quite the fickle thing..."
She helplessly pinched and picked at the edges of the band-aid that was securely attached to her arm, so much to a point that although it started to make the skin on her arm slightly pink, she managed to get an edge lifted and quickly grabbed it before it stuck back to her skin.
Then riippp! goes the band-aid.
There was a uncomfortable silence between Bella, Xio, and the band-aid.
Then the skin where the band-aid previously was on her arm slightly turned pink and Xio immediately yelped in surprised and rubbed her arm with her hand as she circular stomped around inside of the small medical tent to let out her pain and frustrations.
"Aahhhhh that is uncomfortable uncomfortable uncomfortable!! I feel like I got bit by a threatened Puffskein!"
Xio drew out with a hiss as she threw a angry glare towards the remaining box of band-aids on the table. Then she redirected her attention towards Bella with a smile like she hadn't witnessed the entire debacle that just happened.
"Well hello there Bella! What brings you out to these woods? I saw the track and the tents and wanted to see what I could break I guess, haha!"

Bella watched in slight amusement and worry as @Xio Arcana ripped the bandage off. She remembered that when she was younger, her parents always taught her that the faster you rip off a bandage, the less pain it would be. She supposed that it was true, but it sure didn't make the instant pain hurt any less.
"I was just interested in seeing something like a running track at Hogwarts. You see, running a mile every month on the running track was a thing at my old school, which was for muggles. I was simply surprised, that's all. I mean, logically it makes sense, but...I just didn't expect that, you know?"
Bella listened as Xio quickly tried to recover from the uncomfortableness. She laughed, giving a bright smile and tossing her hair back.
"Ah, seeing what you can break, huh? Well, mind if I join you? I can help point out some of the stuff that you might not know as well so you won't have to rip off another painful object! And I see you have discovered the coldness of an instant ice pack." Bella remarked, taking a look at the messy table, where Xio had previously thrown a used ice pack on. "So, anyways, how is your day so far? Other than the painful bandage part, of course. Are you having fun? And...umm...what's a Puffskein?"

𝕽obin relaxed his muscles as Vale Ashwood picked up a doll. Not that dolls appearing in random corners isn't creepy, but at least she didn't notice him here. Honestly, it might be worst if she noticed him trying to evade her than if he was caught standing in the middle of the tent when she first came in.
As if the universe was in a hurry to prove him right, the senior then complained to her doll about him hiding away. Even if her eyes were on that creepy thing, her words were undoubtedly directed towards the Ravenclaw boy. Robin took a deep breath and put a foot out, ready to face his fears head on. That's what Vale Ashwood wanted, right? And it's something beneficial to himself too.
That was when a sickening sound entered his ears. He focused his gaze and realized that Vale Ashwood had stabbed the training dummy she was working on previously. He gulped, the step he just made picked itself back up and he hesitated. What if I just dash out of the tent? I'm already right at the entrance, and she did mention that she was more hurt . . . His thoughts quickly scrambled as the senior addressed him directly. Blue, she called him. She did that at the feast too. Robin wondered if she called everyone by the color of their house.
Robin walked out of the shadows and approached Vale Ashwood with his usual flat expression. Though that would hardly indicate how he truly felt, it only represented the stiffness of his facial muscles. "Sorry," he said in response to the senior's accusation of his "inappropriate treatment" of her. Quite half-hearted, since apologies in this case were just to appease the threat, an almost instinctual reflex to anything people say he did wrong, whether he agreed and understood or not. Robin moved up next to the table, near the senior but at an angle where he can use the corner of his eyes to observe her movements. And the doll's. It looked somewhat sentient, which greatly unsettles but also intrigues the curious boy.
"The . . . weapon, is still inside." Robin stated, seemingly back to a calmer state now that he has a task to keep his mind busy. He put his hands around the weapon and pressed down, then slightly inward to mimic forcing the wound to close. Performing first aid on a dummy felt even more ridiculous when a possibly haunted doll is watching from the sidelines. Robin tried to recall the further steps, should he keep his hands here longer or apply bandages? His mind was racing around maze-like alleyways, and every time he came around a corner the senior was there, and her doll, and even the stabbed training dummy. "You seemed quite professional back there," Robin decided to break the stifling silence: "Do you have any recommendations?"

ASHWOODDepartment of Law Enforcement: House of Judgement
Note: Vale has achromatopsia and uses special contact lenses to see. She is also a burn survivor.
Oh, so Blue really was watching Vale. Hiding away like a common Porlock. Her eyes watched as he took the initiative to reveal himself. It was rather convenient since Vale didn't have to grab him by the scruff of his collar herself. Usually, anyone in Vale's sight keeps to hiding. She still couldn't help but smile awfully brightly upon hearing his measly apology.
When his focus came onto the dummy, Vale felt a form of amusement. As if she wasn't in the room anymore, distracting him. Such an interesting bird. Drop a stick in front of it, and it'll instinctively pick it up and bring it back to its nest.
"Recommendations? For what? Not letting someone bleed out?" Vale covered her mouth to poorly hide a giggle. "Between you and me, Blue. That's something I'd only worry about if it was a real body worth saving." Vale grabbed more scissors and stabbed the dummy again, pressing the scissors down deep with a mere finger on the dummy's arm. "But if you so desire..." She wandered off, humming to herself before returning with bandages.
"People die awfully fast when you just rip and tear an object out of them, you know. Unless you want that to happen, of course. Let's just do the basics in stabilizing the object and leave the nerve-wracking removal stuff to the professionals." Vale simply wrapped gauze rolls around the scissors to keep them from moving, then wrapped bandages around them to keep the bandages in place. She had no immediate way of knowing if what she did proved fruitful, but it was the effort that mattered to her. "And there you have it. All prepped for doctors to take care of." She announced with a smile.
"To think you have a killer instinct in you, Blue. The way you did it would likely have been enough to kill someone awfully dead." Another giggle escaped Vale, finding the entire morbid scene strangely hilarious. "It's a decent enough try. You passed my test on taking the first step against your very fears. But..." Vale loomed over the second pair of scissors she placed and forced them out with no hesitation, the bandages wrapping them practically exploding off from Vale's pulling force, flying off onto the ground. She swung the metal blades' handle between her fingers like a mere toy.
"How can one face future calamities without even knowing how to wrap one's own wounds? Hogwarts seems unusually quite susceptible to them too." Vale kept swiping her other hand's nails together, as if thinking. She stopped twirling the scissors, haphazardly throwing them onto a nearby table.
"You'd best stick to the very basics of first aid, Blue. Practice the stations until your fingers burn, and your muscles are ready to give out. After all, who can rely on anyone during a time of crisis when nobody knows what to do? It's important to build favors and connections at a young age. And you can easily gain very valuable connections when you know how to save a life. Or cease one. Whatever suits your folly." Vale's eyes set on Ashes, picking him up. He flopped over in her hand, voiceless.
"Oh? Fencing? That seems awfully dull. You're not really stabbing anyone. What's the point?" Vale rolled the doll around in her hand, stopping as if she heard something pristine and clear. "Hm, I suppose we can do that. My scars still hurt, though-Oh, you're right Ashes. Maybe my opponent will feel quite bad for me and tragically suffer the consequences- What? I'd rather not use more burn cream...maybe we'll just watch..." Vale became preoccupied with a new interest in mind, turning herself away to the tent's doorway.
"Oh, right. @Robin Lockett wasn't it? Next time I catch you hiding away from me, I'll clip your wings. And practice those medic skills~ You'll never know when you'll need them." Vale smiled, and with an easy brush of the tent's doorframe, she was gone back out into the open with her doll in tow. As if some people sensed she was gone, they began to file into the tent once more.
