100 Days Before Christmas Errand Sign-Up

If one were to step into the Great Hall on the 16th of September, they would be instantly hit with the smell of Gingerbread and the aura of Holiday Cheer. From the tree nestled between three clusters of tables to the magical snow that seemed to fade away before it ever hit the ground, it was sure that Christmas had come early at Hogwarts. A signup sheet had been posted on the door of the Hall a few weeks prior, less for tracking students and more to encourage the festive cheer that would ensure 100 days after the date the get together would be celebrated.

One cluster was decked with blank cookies and cups of sweet tea and cocoa for students to enjoy. Tables lined with garland housed little cups of frosting and chocolate and hundreds and thousands for the students and those participating to make delicious treats for themselves. Candy canes and gum drops and even a box of bertie botts were waiting to be snacked on. The Ravenclaw @Ebony Vetra was seated at the table, pouring cocoa and setting out more sugar cookies for the Hogwarts population to use. The next cluster of tables was directly across from the Tree in the middle, surrounded by pillows and various crafting supplies. There for the students was glitter and scrolls and different pots of ink for the making of Christmas ornaments in preparation for the season. Ornaments could contain christmas wishes, doodles, or nothing more than stripes and circles to decorate the foliage. String and ribbon and bows were ready to be tied to the branches of the tree, and a blue haired girl standing by was ready as needed. @Skylar Blue, in anticipation, had her wand at the ready to hang up the ornaments as students finished them.

The last group of tables was truly the point of the get together, with more decorating potential for all participants. The station, decked with premade and ready to serve cards, as well as blank ones for full customization, was ready for students to line the seats. It was a token of cheer and gratitude, a reminder that even though Christmas was 100 days away, the season could be celebrated all year long. The cards were intended to be filled out by students, sent to teachers or brothers or mothers or friends, and just a reminder that no matter what anyone had going on, someone somewhere was thinking about them. The Hufflepuff @Jrue Peterson sat at one of the tables, snipping away at pieces of paper with lace and glitter and stickers all around her. She was there to aid any spelling or folding the participants had, scissors in hand and christmas sweater on.

The festivities would last what seemed like forever, despite taking only one afternoon, with seemingly endless supplies and snacks for everyone to partake in. The three prefects were all cheer and tunes, hoping to share the christmas spirit with anyone who joined. And of course, Headmaster Lear was ready to celebrate the upcoming season too- in cardboard cutout form.

; EVENT INFORMATION

While the three activities are accessible to all students, no activity is required. Students are invited to participate in any activity they choose, including more than one. 600 words must be posted in order to receive the full amount of house points, but you can choose how to distribute the words among the threads. All tables will be accessible via three threads, Card Making,Cookie Decorating, and Ornaments. More detail on those tables will be written out in their respective thread.
