Even though it was already June, nothing could beat a nice hot chocolate at night. Lydia was peacefully sipping on it, her eyes moving across the room, as she let her mind think about the book she was reading; the images of another time, made of carriages, nobles, dances and long days spent reading filled her mind. How much easier would her life had been, if she would have been a character from one of Jane Austen's books; all she would need to worry about would be to properly learn how to play the piano, draw and good manners and then, once she would be old enough, to find a suitable man to marry.
But life was never like in a book, it was never that smoothly predictable.
As she looked around, Lydia's eyes fell on an extremely familiar face, just by the door; the moment her gaze fell on the boy, her heart started beating faster, as her cheeks tinted of a lovely pink shade. It was almost funny, how the mere presence of Rafael could cause such a hurricane of feelings and emotions inside the young girl; it was kind of destabilising, really, the way that her heart would just decide to start doing sprints the moment she would notice him, and how her stomach would twist at the thought of talking to him.
This would have been the moment, in one of those books, where Lydia would have gotten up from her seat, her lovely handmade dress flowing down to her feet, and she would have waited there for the young boy to walk up to her and greet her; they might have even had a dance or two, the orchestra playing in the background, before the night would come to an end. But yet again, this was not one of those moments nor one of those books and she was not the heroine of some novel of manners.
Things have been complicated between Lydia and Rafael lately, even confusing after what happened in the Greenhouse; so many words were said, emotions let out... A sigh escaped the young girl's lips, the chocolate mug now abandoned on her book on the windowsill, as she tried her best not to think about that day. It wasn't like she didn't want to think about it, but more that it just made her even more confused, almost igniting in her the instinct to leave before the boy would notice her.
No, she could not do that, not again. It had been that same instinct that had made her avoid the boy once already, and that didn't do any good, to either of them. So she decided that she would have not repeated the same mistake, not this time. Lydia slowly got up from her spot by the window, and only then noticed May, asking her to sit down next to her. She gave the girl a small smile, as she walked up to her and placed her book and mug down on the pillow. "Hi! I'll be here in a second," she told her, as she kept the smile on her face, before she started walking towards Rafael, only then noticing that Alan was next to him.
One foot after the other, the Hufflepuff girl crossed the room, and once she was only a couple of meters away, she smiled at them, her cheeks still slightly red. "Hi Alan, Raf," she said, her eyes moving from the oldest boy to the Quidditch Captain. What was she supposed to say, in a situation like this? She should have thought about that, before walking up to the duo. "How are you guys? This looks so lovely, doesn't it?"
Lydia had no idea on how she was supposed to act with the Gryffindor Captain; was she supposed to pretend as if the whole Greenhouse events did not happen, or was she supposed to talk with him about them? She managed to hide her internal turmoil, her words sounding more like her old self, as a small smile stayed on her lips for the whole time.

Green orbs were drawn to the invitation as she passed the small hall, her grasp loosening on her bag ever so slightly as she paused, sneakers halting in their tracks, to scan her eyes over the inviting words. A glance at her watch told her that she had no time at all to go up to the dorms and change, but in actual fact it was not something to bother about- she was already sporting comfy casual wear. Her hair was tied into a careless messy ponytail that supported the long locks of hair that tumbled to her back as she leaned towards the poster. Was it necessary to go? She definitely had other pressing emergencies to attend to, including an ever-growing pile of homework. Then again that didn't necessarily come anywhere near the top of the list regarding ‘priority’ in Ariana's book. In fact, the concept merely skimmed her mind before she found herself strolling on her way to the classroom the event was to take place in. The brunette absentmindedly raised her eyebrows at the chosen location, it was in fact the same place she had swung at Evans the other day [The girl was probably still sporting a large bruise to the head] Arianas jaw clenched at the memory, that was certainly something she needed to clear her mind of, this was a time to relax right? Meet new people, talk to old friends, nobody was going to be punching anyone this time round.
Fingers pressed gently against the door, the brunette pushed it open, hues flickering to every corner of the room in an attempt to take in her new surroundings. The classroom certainly didn't address the cold, uninviting, unkempt aura of previous experiences, instead it was littered delicately with candles, giving off a rather cozy feeling. The smell of hot chocolate embracing Ariana as she breathed in contentedly. There were many faces she recognized too, although not all showed themselves welcome to the gryffindors eyes. One familiar face was recognizable as Zykeal Lane who, upon Ariana's gaze resting on the boy, her face soured, and she hastily flickered her gaze in the opposite direction, eyes landing on, Lydia. A smile made its way to her lips, face brightening upon noticing one of her dear friends in company. Lydia had been a little off since the blossom ball and Ariana couldn't blame her. Everything that had happened seemed so long ago, yet the burden was still heavy as ever, the vivid memories hard to forget.
Her eyes had strayed over to the girl just in time to witness her rise and walk over to, Rafa? Ariana blinked, before making her way closer to greet them. Her cousin was standing next to another gryffindor boy, one whom Ariana had maybe seen in classes, or in passing, but not necessarily talked to yet. She had a vague clue who he might have been though, maybe Raf had mentioned him before?
Her laces brushed the floor gently as footsteps sauntered ever nearer. Eyes slightly narrowed and her head tilted softly to the side, she scrutinized Lydia's face for any signs of uncertainty or confusion. Her approach was unusually quiet, yet gentle. This time she didn't call out or make any signal that she may be about to invade on such fragile conversation, she knew how shaky Lyd and Rafas friendship had been since the ball's chaotic events.
“Hey Lyd!”she exclaimed, her voice bouncy and soft- the usual loud, enthusiastic tones shielded slightly as she forced the worry from her voice. “Hi Raf, fancy seeing you here” She flashed a small grin to the boy before turning to the gryffindor next to him, holding out her hand in a gesture for him to shake it. “Hey, dont think I've met you before." She voiced brightly, "I'm Ariana, Ariana walker.”

"Estás bien?"Cash enquires the other girl. "Er.. what I mean to say is are you okay?"Cassie questions the girl.
Selene clicked her tongue, a tad bit too harsh. She didn't notice the other person asking about her. The raven-haired girl just rolled her eyes, brushing some strands of her hair behind her ear. She glanced at the red-haired girl, who accidentally spilled hot chocolate on her. She could feel her arm sting from the sudden feeling, she couldn't help but bit her lip to hide it. She had to be careful with her surroundings and environment. From the looks of it, many more people continue to join the little event. Was it even little. anymore? The number of people joining was already enough to fill the classroom, almost, that is. Selene rolled her eyes, this was already irritating her. She then examines her dress, noticing that only a little of hot chocolate spilled on her nightgown, hah as if she didn't already look odd enough with her bunny headband and her eyemasks. But hey, at least she's not wearing her bunny slippers..they're very adorable tho. Now she quietly regrets not wearing it.
She looked at the short-haired person, forcing a slight curve to her lips. Closing her eyes with a smile to her face. "Yes, I am." She replied shortly to her face, before taking a big gulp of the hot chocolate from the tip of her fingers the warmness felt so, comfortable, but unfortunately, it was enough chocolate for Selene tonight. She loves sweets, but enough can be enough. She repeated to herself over and over again, that she was okay, that it wasn't that embarrassing to get spilled hot chocolate. But sometimes the eyes of many that lingers at her and the incident made her want to suffocate, like a sudden stuck feeling wrapping her heart squishing it. She had to remember that she was a social butter, an heiress, she had to be proper and polish any time. But truly, how much can a child with a traumatic incident can handle? Too much than her mind can handle and too big of her heart to contain, don't you think so? Quick, put on another smile before someone see your weakness.
She then excused herself from the crowd, needing a moment to breathe since more people came, besides. Seilun seemed occupied with, from the looks of it and her sudden brighten up aura, her boyfriend and his friend. She then went somewhere where it's not as tight or as crowded, she was not a wallflower of course but look around the place/ The buzzing noises and the warmth radiating from everyone, the additive smell of hot chocolate, finally the lingering eyes of everyones. Student-run events seemed to be cursed here at Hogwarts, which was why Ivy had initially decided against going to Opeila's gathering in the classroom. However, the curious side of her took over eventually and she found herself wandering through the corridors to find the classroom, wearing her hair in a braid and a navy blue dress that was only slightly more casual than the rest of her wardrobe. Which classroom was it again? Ivy's grey eyes would land on a door with a note stuck to its surface. Perhaps that was it... Enter me was what the note read, but the lioness would linger for a moment longer at the door, wondering if it was wise to go in. She pressed an ear to the wooden door and listened intently for any sign of panic or chaos. If there was any, well, she was out of there... no. From what Ivy heard, it was all clear.
She opened the door with a gentle push and stepped in, greeting the hostess of the gathering with a quiet "Hi there, Opeila," as she did so. Ivy had encountered the Slytherin a few months ago in the Abandoned Toilets, although she couldn't quite remember the full details. She had been crying... over a test paper, wasn't it? Ivy knew it had only been a few months, but it seemed like almost an entire lifetime ago. If she thought about the cause for her tears now, it all felt so stupid and irrelevent, especially after the events that had happened in the past few months.
Once the necessary greeting to Opeila was done, Ivy took her surroundings. She raised her eyebrows and smiled slightly, pleasantly surprised at how well the classroom had been transformed into a cosy little haven of sorts. The candles placed around the room emitted a rather soothing orangey-yellow glow, and the pillows and thin blankets only made it feel more comfortable. The smell of hot chocolate and the sound of chatter filled the air. Opeila had done a nice job.
Her smile faded quickly, however, once she caught sight of a few of the other attendees. For one, there was May. They had been on bad terms since the incident down at the Great Lake - at least, in Ivy's eyes they were. She blamed the Hufflepuff for making the situation with Zyk worse and avoided even just looking her childhood friend, although deep in her heart she knew that her anger was misplaced. Almost as quickly as her eyes had landed on May, they would flit away to watch someone else, afraid that they would lock eyes and she would be forced to speak to her.
The frown on her face would only deepen at the sight of Zyk. It had been over a month since their last encounter, and Ivy had managed to avoid him rather successfully, seeing as they shared no classes, but it appeared that her streak would end tonight. The Gryffindor wasn't completely sure of her feelings about him - yeah, she was angry at him, but not for the reasons you might expect. She was angry that Zyk was right. Ivy was the kind of person who hated being wrong about something, no matter how little it was, and the fact that she couldn't even bring herself to apologise made her even angrier - at herself, at Zyk, at everyone. But hey, maybe tonight was the night she would finally work up the courage to talk to him. Ivy walked along the edge of the classroom, footsteps quickening as she approached-
Wait, who was that blonde he was sitting with?
Ivy stopped dead in her tracks a few metres away from them, trying to make out the blonde's features from the shadows. Even before she had figured out who it was, she was already uncomfortable with the situation she found herself in. They were sitting too close for her liking, and as Ivy moved a little closer, the light from one of the candles lit up the blonde's features. Wait, what? Stalker Girl? The Gryffindor was reminded of the strange afternoon she'd met the blonde Ravenclaw in the Library - God, that was way back in January! - and she stared at her, seeing her (quite literally) in a new light. Ivy's stomach twisted as she noted just how pretty the Ravenclaw was, with curly blonde hair and an alluring smile, and wondered if she had any Veela ancestry. Was this Zyk's new friend now? A Veela girl who stalked people?
She spun on her heel and walked away as Zyk whispered something in the girl's ear, forcing herself to tear her eyes away from the pair. Alright, that was settled then. No apology would come tonight.
Quick. Find a distraction. It was clear that the lioness did not want to dwell on this topic, especially since she was in public. She wanted to retreat to her dormitory, but she had only just greeted Opeila, and didn't want to accidentally offend the Slytherin by walking out so soon. Her grey eyes landed on yet another familiar face, although this one did not cause her any pain or anger. His name was... what was it again? ...Alan? He had taught her how to make a frienship bracelet (well, tried. She was still unsure about it.) And from what she could remember of that late night encounter, he was rather nice - a little shy, yes, but nice all the same.
The boy was surrounded by a few other people, including the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain. Ivy couldn't remember his name, but she could certainly remember the scene he'd made at the Ball. (Honestly, she was half-convinced he was insane by now.) The closer she got, the worse this idea seemed to her. Who was to say that Alan hadn't forgotten about their meeting in March and didn't even recognize her? Now that would be awkward.
Well, it was a little too late to turn back now, because Ivy had already reached the group. "Hi," she said, greeting Alan first with a smile. "Not sure if you remember me, but I'm Ivy. We met in the common room a while back." She would then turn to the Quidditch Captain, hesitating for a moment before holding out a hand for him to shake. If he accepted it, she'd smile at him and give it a limp shake. If not, she'd frown and turn to face the two girls she was yet to address. It was funny how many first years she was yet to meet, she thought... "Hi. I'm Ivy. Do you mind if I stick around a little bit?" She usually wouldn't have approached a random group of people for the fear of being turned away, but if she had stayed on her own for a little longer, perhaps someone she was trying to avoid woud speak to her. Ivy found that being surrounded by other people would keep them at bay, and she could only hope that this group would allow her to stay.

Who would call her Lynn except her family?
Lizzie Callaghan, for sure.
Lindsey raised up her head from the book, and smiled.
“Hey Lizzie!” She exclaimed. Wow. Serendipity. Her friend had finally arrived, and helped her out of…embarrassment for no people to talk with.
“How’s the weather up in the Gryffindor tower today?” Lindsey joked, while leading Lizzie to find Opeila.
“Um, hi Opeila! This is my friend, Lizzie, and she’s in Gryffindor.” She introduced her friend to Opeila. “Oh, and, forgot to say, I’m a badger.” she smiled. “Again, it’s nice to meet you and your party’s awesome!” she said from her heart.
Someone entered the room now. Very sensitive to moves and sounds, Lindsey raised up her head while getting some hot chocolate for Lizzie——a true “foodie”.
To her surprise, the girl coming in was Ivy Bellamy.
She met Ivy when establishing the club “Les Amis de’l ABC”. Bella (her name in the club), was a very creative and lively club second-in-command.
“Hello Bella!” She came over to Ivy. “How are you these days?”
It seemed a bit inappropriate to jump into a bunch of Gryffindors Ivy was staying with.
But she’s a Hufflepuff, right? A true friendly and warm-hearted badger’s never nervous when making new friends.

Lizzie couldn't keep the smile off her face. Not only was Lynn there, but there was hot chocolate. Aka the best hot beverage in existence. According to the rest of her family, coffee was the superior beverage. She burst out laughing at the Hufflepuffs question. "The weather in the tower is pretty meh," she started, pausing to laugh/cough. "A little rainy at times, overall pretty sunny." She wasn't really sure what she was trying to say, but it had made sense for half a second so she'd said it. Sure, she should really have a better filter between her thoughts and her mouth, but it was what it was.
She hadn't realized Lynn had been leading her over to a person until she heard her friend greet someone with an unfamiliar name. Opeila... Why did that name sound so familiar, yet unfamiliar? The thought vanished from her mind as she heard Lynn introducing her to the Opeila person.
"Hi." Lizzie smiled and gave the girl a small wave. As Lynn continued speaking and complimented the girl on her party, Lizzie realized that the name Opeila had sounded familiar because she had been the one to sign that note inviting people to said party. Mentally face-palming, she felt ashamed for not even knowing the name of the person hosting the party.
As Lynn migrated towards another group of people, Lizzie wandered after her, since she didn't know anyone else there. With her talkativeness, she probably could've found someone to talk to, but most people seemed to be in a group, and it was always plain awkward to barge into a group of friends, trying to make friends with them all.
Lynn greeted another girl, Bella, from what the Hufflepuff had called her. From where she stood next to Lynn, Lizzie waved to the girl also, noticing that she was sort of in a large group of Gryffindors that were probably her friends. It seemed like the Hufflepuff was trying to make conversation with "Bella", so Lizzie awkwardly looked around the room. Was there anyone standing alone that she could go ambush talk to? Not really... Everyone was clumped into their friend groups, cheerfully chatting away. That sorta sucked. She really needed to get out more and make some more friends. Maybe one day, she'd be part of a friend circle...

Rose noticed a girl that looked a little bored, who was scanning the faces of people to see if she could talk to anyone. Tucking her amber curls behind her ear, Rose noticed this girl she was about to walk over to was also a fellow redhead. Drawing in a deep breath, she gathered her scraps of courage and walked over to her. "Hi," she said. Her voice was sweet and smooth like honey, and softer than usual voices. She also spoke in a strong American accent. "I'm Rose. Rose Moon." Taking in the girl in one sweep, Rose added, "You're a Gryffindor, right?" Rose's friends weren't here, so she guessed she had to make some here. Maybe if this girl didn't completely hate Quidditch, she could hang out with Rose and her friends Mystery Anne Abbot and Aurelia Roberts. If she did... well, then, they wouldn't really get along. Plus, you could never have too many friends, right? The warmth from the hot chocolate mug seeped into her hands, reminding her to relax.

Well, he could never deny a good cup of free hot chocolate. Even if it’s hosted by the famed disastrous party planner Opeila Seilun. He planned to go by himself if it weren’t for Percival beating him to it. It still struck the Japanese boy as odd that Rainwood has not changed the slightest after their time at the grounds where Hanako ignored his cries. He was prepared for a change and empty mealtimes all over again. To his surprise, it was not like that at all. Rainwood decided to pretend nothing happened and he just bounced back the response. Hanako didn’t know which he preferred better but nothing rested his uneasiness about their rocky relationship. The ignorance and closed curtained needed conversations had them tilting towards a similar ending as Althea and him. He wasn’t the kind to ignore the elephant in the room but for a reason unknown, he was not inclined to call out Percival. Was the change too big? Did he dig a hole deeper than he thought that he was unable to climb out? He didn’t know but he did notice a disgusting feeling of relief at Rainwoods choice to stay the same.
Of course, that didn’t last long at all.
"Opeila meet Hana, my friend, and Hana meet Opeila, my girlfriend." Percival gave them a boyishly charming grin that Hanako wanted to punch so badly.
A joke, he thought. This must’ve all been a joke although he could not stop a mild look of surprise on his usually chill face.
"Hey...", Seilun, who was not known to be a prankster greeted Percival lovingly ( in Hanako’s eyes) ."Yeah... we met before, I believe.",
Yeah? Y E A H ?!
So these two were...and Percy didn’t tell...but they’re both 12?!? Hanako knows himself to have a lot of things he hated in the world. One of them is talking about feelings except to agree they are useless. Another is the intertwining of two people in love. Fine, call it bitterness since his parents never had such a thing and other people do but it didn’t take two brain cells to understand his cold opinion of it. But was really made his mind spiral was how wrong he was about Rainwood. He had expected some sort of change but to take this long to be informed of something big as this?
Meat shield meat shield meat shield meat shield
Traitor
Who was the traitor and why? It’s not like Hanako would respond with a gleeful grin and hugs if Rainwood had told him earlier. Was that it? Why would he still drag him to places if he didn’t take a lot to hold out an important announcement such as this? And Opeila Seilun out of all the people he could choose? Opeila Seilun didn’t appear much in his mind before but now she came crashing in like a pest in their- his life. Thoughts of the couple spending time together being lovely dovey sent his stomach to turn uncomfortably. Percival’s crush on Opeila was something he had diminished and waved off as puppy love that won’t even last more than a few months. One of his many crushes just disappearing as the wind came in and presented him another one to fawn over. So what was he seeing now? The result of his ignorance and careless nature?
Realizing he had probably taken quite a while with his lack of speech and dumbfounded look, he attempted to cover it up but shaking his head and showing them the best grin he could muster. “ やれやれやれ~ So is this your way of saying that she’s someone I shouldn’t mess with? Duly noted. However, it’s always a pleasure to finally find out who-” he purposely leaned closer to Opeila but still said loud enough for Percy to hear. “ who he’s been practicing to ask out in front of a mirror” he chuckled as he leaned away from the girl, eager to see Percy’s face go red. Was it unnecessary to expose him like that? Yes, but he couldn’t punch him but this was the least he could do for Percy telling him so late. Cover up your wrath by careless jokes, that’s how it always went with this kid. He had something else planned for his ‘ girlfriend ‘, though.
“ Anyways, I can certainly know why you came here, but I hope you didn’t forget my reason for being here. Mind grabbing us a cup of hot chocolate as I~” he went behind Opeila and peeked out from her shoulders with a playful grin “ Do my job as a close friend and share some stories I’m sure Seilun here would love to hear~” he grinned impishly.
Oh, crap he called himself Percival's friend. Too caught up in trying to act like his normal self- it slipped out of his mouth and it could never be taken back. Oh, well.

Lizzie almost jumped out of her skin when she heard a voice next to her. Although she had been looking for others to talk to, since it seemed like Lynn was talking to one of her other friends, she hadn't expected someone to approach her. That made it easier on her end, though. She wouldn't feel as bad for harrassing starting a conversation with someone random.Open to interactions
The girl who'd approached her had a curious accent. Lizzie couldn't put a finger on it, but it was very distinct, and she felt silly for not being able to tell where it was from. She'd definitely seen the fellow redhead around though, but she couldn't put a name to the face. Luckily, the girl introduced herself as Rose and it looked like she was a Gryffindor from the red on her robes. Now Lizzie felt really bad for not knowing her name. They were in the same house and probably in the same year, yet she hadn't known her name.
Lizzie gave Rose a big smile as she nodded in response to the girl's question. "I am a Gryffindor," she affirmed. Noticing the fellow Gryffindor clutched a mug with her favorite chocolate liquid, her eyes widened and she started to speak. "Do you like hot chocolate too? Hot chocolate is my favorite drink. My brother always tries to start an argument by saying the coffee's the superior beverage, but he's wrong because hot chocolate clearly is." The blood rushed to her cheeks as she realized that she'd started rambling. She tended to do that when she was nervous. Why was she nervous to talk to someone else? She didn't know, it was a strange new feeling for her.
