Kenneth Drummond comes from a very old family, farriers from father to son. Both his parents are muggles. His father, Fergus Drummond, 36, is a farrier. His mother, Rhona Drummond, 38, is a music teacher at a primary school in Perth. Kenneth is the eldest of four children: his sisters Erin and Moira are 8, and Mungo, the youngest, is 4. The family lives in a cottage on the outskirts of Perth. Kenneth thus grew up in a very rural environment, accustomed to the wild atmosphere of the Scottish countryside, but also received a rather noble upbringing thanks to the old feudal traditions to which his father is particularly attached. They also have a cat, William, and a beagle, Alba, who is very fond of Kenneth.
From a very early age, he was passionate about nature. He disliked studying, was something of a solitary dreamer, and exasperated his parents because he could not sit still. When the twins were born, his parents quarreled violently; Rhona, who was pregnant, took him with her to Ireland to stay with her best friend, Calum. There, he met Calum's son, Sean, who would become his own best friend. Kenneth was deeply affected by his eight-month stay in Ireland—eight months during which he neither saw his father nor attended school. Despite his parents' reconciliation, he remained deeply wary of his father, whom he held responsible for the trouble.
On his eleventh birthday, when Kenneth receives his letter from Hogwarts, he is immensely relieved; his parents had been planning to send him to a boarding school—St. Clare's, in the south of England—where many children from Perth go.

First Instance of Magic
Reducio
Kenneth grew up surrounded by horses, so it's not surprising that his first instance of magic was linked to them. It was January 7, 2019, and wee Kenneth had celebrated his fifth birthday the day before. While walking with his mother, the boy passed by the stall where his father was grooming one of the horses. The animal suddenly became agitated and reared up, as if seized by a panic attack. His father covered his face, helpless, fearing a kick. Kenneth was terrified! As he watched the scene unfold, all of a sudden, with a single glance, he opened the stall door and his father flew through the air before landing heavily outside the stable. Fergus quickly closed the door... but Kenneth's parents never looked at him the same way again from that day on.
STATUS: Pending, Meiyu, 20th June.
- Your character backstory is just under our 220 word requirement. You can tell us more about Kenneth and what he likes here.
- Once you have made the edits, please make sure the backstory on your application matches the one in your encyclopedia.
STATUS: Pending, Malaika, June 30th.
- We would need your to precise the blood status of the parents please! (both should be muggles).
- Since your character is a muggleborn, he would not get a letter from Hogwarts, instead a delegate would come and explain everything to him and his parents. Please edit that part out of your backstory.
- Your first instance of magic reads as intentional (father being in danger => kyllian looking at him, and pulling him out of danger). Accidental magic is uncontrolled, and happens independently to the will of the wizard/witch. It's mostly in reactions to strong emotions. In this specific scenario, you could say for example that Kenneth was scared, and a window broke nearby, diverting the horse's attention. Other instance of magic could be blowing bubbles out of their mouth when angry, making things float randomly, etc! Please edit your first instance of magic to make it accidental.
- Once the changes have been made, please copy paste them to your encyclopedia.
- I do not see your backstory in your encyclopedia, please add it and make sure it's the same as the one in your application.
- You also do not have a trunk, please create it and make sure it follows our trunk rules.
STATUS: Approved, Meiyu, 1st July.

She was born in a Pure blood family. It is been years her family was only composed of Ravenclaw. She was supposed to be a Ravenclaw, to honor her family.
Her father, Percy Tavis, is a kind and wise man working for the ministry of magic. He made her love reading. His favorite quote was “Nothing is better than escaping in a magical landscape” it was pretty ironic, because they live in a magical landscape, but Aelis did not care. It was true for her too, she loved escaping in her books.
Her mother, Quinn Tavis, was an intelligent and well respected woman. She was a known notary, and she knew how to do her job well. Aelis’ mother taught her to be careful and never bow to an idiot. She taught her, “A woman should never bow to a manipulator.” Aelis listened to her. She refuses to be taken as something she is not.
Aelis had the goal to be a Ravenclaw and make her parents proud. She was seeking their approval, the approval they oh so rarely showed. A perfect grade was never enough, even when she was the top of her class. Learning every beasts, spirits and beings by heart in alphabetical order was not enough. Even if she would prefer it didn’t, these expectations shaped the woman she is now. A confident and well behaved woman.

One day when she was 7 at home, her parents on a business trip, she was chilling in her room, reading like always (what a book worm!) when she saw a spider. A goddamn spider. She hates them. These little scary creatures. Of course she was surprised, maybe screamed a little… okay, no. She screamed. And somehow, her book flew away from her grip and smashed the spider. And that’s when she knew she could finally use magic (with a wand… when she will have one)

Ariana Slythers is also a Metamorphmagus. She was born with the ability to change her physical appearance whenever she wanted. When Ariana was a kid I she had no idea that what was happening to her was unusual.
When Ariana was young her appearance would change on its own. It was never a huge change at first. Just small things that nobody could explain. Her hair would change color depending on how she was feeling. If she was excited it would get brighter without her even realizing it. If I was upset it would get darker. Sometimes her eyes would seem different shades from one day to the next and occasionally her facial features would shift a bit. Because it happened naturally she thought everyone experienced things like this. You can't blame her? She was young.
As Ariana got older the changes became more noticeable. Family members would point out that her hair had been one color in the morning and another by dinner. Friends would ask if she had changed her hairstyle overnight. The changes always seemed connected to how she was feeling. If she was happy her hair might change color. If she was frustrated her eyes might change shape.
Ariana didn't understand why it was happening for a time. She tried to ignore it thinking there had to be an explanation or she had some kind of disorder. Eventually the changes became too obvious to ignore so she did a bit of research.
The magical world is full of abilities and after hearing stories and doing her own research Ariana found something that really stood out to her: Metamorphmagi.
The more she learned the more familiar it all sounded. The connection, the natural changes the ability to change her appearance without spells or potions. It described her experiences perfectly. Ariana was curious and eager for answers. She asked her parents if there was any history of Metamorphmagi in her family.
That conversation revealed something she had never known before. Her parents explained that there had been Metamorphmagi in her father's side of the family a long time ago. The gift had appeared occasionally among relatives only to disappear again for decades at a time. According to family stories the ability had died out years before she was born. Nobody had inherited it for such a long period that most relatives assumed the bloodline had simply lost the trait entirely. Because of that her parents were just as surprised as she was when the signs began appearing.
As time passed Ariana gradually accepted that she had inherited the ability. What made her situation unusual however was how naturally it manifested at such an age. Most kids struggle to understand gifts that depend on concentration and control. For Ariana the changes occurred entirely through instinct.
Fir now her mood remains one of the strongest influences on her appearance. When she is relaxed maintaining a chosen form is easy. Strong emotions however can still affect her in many ways. Excitement may alter her hair color without warning. Anger can cause dramatic changes. Nervousness, happiness and even simple amusement can all leave traces in her appearance.
Being a Metamorphmagus is a part of who she is. It is a gift passed down through generations of her fathers family one that was thought of as lost long before she inherited it. Though mastering it is a difficult process, it remains a unique connection, to her familys history and a defining aspect of her magical identity.

Character Backstory

Ariana Slythers is from a long line of high status witches and wizards knon for their power, magic and status. Ariana was born and bred in England, by her parents Lucius Slythers and Linda Smith who are now divorced. She is the eldest of three daughters to her father. Her two younger siblings are her half-siblings from her dad's new marriage. She is her mother, Linda Smith's only daughter. Linda never remarried after her and Lucius's divorce. Ariana often spent holidays alternating between London (where her mum lives) and Liverpool (where her dad lives), allowing her to remain close to both sides of her family.
Her father, Lucius Slythers works as an Alchemist. Her mother, Linda Smith, is an Auror. Her dad is married to Samantha McBurg, who is now Samantha Slythers after marriage. Her stepmother is a Potioneer. Although Samantha is just Ariana's stepmother, they both love each other to bits and pieces. Ariana stayed close to both sides of her family even after her parents's divorce.
She grew up hearing stories about famous witches and wizards and dreamed of leaving her own mark on history one day. Her magical abilities appeared unusually early, causing her parents to realize she would likely be a powerful witch. She dislikes losing and will often spend extra time practicing something until she perfects it.
Her father taught her patience through his work as an Alchemist, explaining that great magical achievements take time and patience. Her mother frequently brought home stories from her work as an Auror, inspiring Ariana's love for the wizarding world.
She is fiercely determined to do anything not to tarnish her family's name. She'll also go to any lengths to be respected and known (in a healthy, non-toxic, harmless way of course)

When she was 8, Ariana was fighting over a broom with her half-sibling. Both of them were refusing to let go. She got so angry that she could barely think straight. Suddenly, the room began to shake. The lights flickered and objects fell from the shelves. It only lasted for a few seconds. She knew she was the reason it had happened

First Instance of MagicReducioBefore he had any further exposure to magic or even knew what it was, Atticus had lived a normal life in Muswell Hill, a beautiful suburb in London. It was a village where everyone got along, and everyone knew each other for the good things they've done around the village. He was raised by his mother, Raja Patel who was a muggle born wizard but a joyful cheerful woman—and his father, Erris (Ilias) Soltani, a calm, collected, and calculated man who was a pureblood wizard, Then finally, his younger brother Jakeem Soltani who was a bundle of sunshine.
However, The relationship between Erris and Raja was looked down upon but Erris’ family as they didn’t want a muggle wizard to be married within the family—and ruining their “reputation”. This lead to many grudges, threats, and so forth—one that would eventually lead to someone’s demise. Further on, there were often times where Raja would explain bits of what magic was to Atticus, meanwhile his father had often kept it private—not wanting to expose his sons to the much scarier side of magic and what lies within it. Atticus, respecting his father, kept this secret safe with him as always. But the threats from the Soltani were so bad, they realized they needed a much fresher start and a safer space with their children.
Eventually, they had to moved to much different neighborhood in Shaftesbury—hoping to move away from such treatment. That’s when Atticus was enrolled in school by the age of four years old, just to live most parts of his muggle life before the true magic happened.. and until the danger came crashing down. Around late May during the weekend—his mother passed due to a break in by an unhinged wizard, who was planning to only target the father, but Raja was the one home alone with the children and in the end of the murder, all that was left was a bloody scar on Atticus’ cheek that would change his life. The scar on his cheek, was due to the cutting curse, Sectumsempra and his poor mother, had fallen to the work of the killing curse, taking her life as her children hid. The murder did reach prophet news and the culprit was no where to be found after the conflict happened, but Erris did everything to make sure his son's weren't reminded of that horrid time. He suspects his family had something to do with it, but due to being cut off—he had no proof to expose. Erris had then decided to pull Atticus out of school sometime after he turned nine, since the death of his mother had brought too much turmoil onto him, along with bullying he had suffered due to his scar. He decided to homeschool both his boys, to still educate them on the aspects of what they really came from, and to honor their mother’s legacy.
Reducio
At 9 years old, Atticus suffered bullying a lot because he was the new kid on the block at his school. He was often chased around or taunted because fragile he was. It came to a breaking point where Atticus’ magic took over, causing the light bulbs to break in a classroom and desks moving around due to he surrounded by his tormentors, and being extremely overwhelmed in that situation.

- Please change the birth date in your encyclopedia to 2015.
- Castle Combe is not in London. Please change its location or pick a neighborhood in London.
- Atticus's father is pureblood. He would send his children to magical school pre-Hogwarts (or one of the other options here: viewtopic.php?t=36476). Why would he remove Atticus during his first instance of magic? Everyone at the school would be understanding. Please add more detail to this section.
- Was the break-in done by a wizard? How did Atticus's mom die? How did he get a scar? Most normal ailments would be cured by magic, so the scar would have be done by magic in order to stay. Please add more detail to this section.

𝕭orn to witch Gabriella Dedalus and Muggle-born Yusef FitzHarrow in Bristol, England, Lydia spent most of her early years with her father, as her impressive witch mother was out travelling the world in her job in the field of cryptozoological research.
She therefore did not grow up with much magic, but she and her twin brother, Alexander Avicenna Dedalus, know something of the magical world from what their father taught them.
Dedalus House, Bristol, England
Reducio
From the Private and Personal Diary of Yusef FitzHarrow -
When we met we were seventeen. There's a whole lifetime to go go when you're that age. Though at the time it feels like you're racing through life. She was beautiful then, as she is now. Tall and graceful in that way that all the Beauxbatonees had, but with a wicked and filthy sense of humour that she only let the most lucky of us see. I wasn't in her inner circle then; not when she arrived, not when she left. We spent precious years hating one another.
Even then I loved her. How could I not? She was brilliant. All she had to say was 'bonjour, chérie' and we'd be dumbstruck -- her classmates, our younger professors, Madam Pince! She had a talent. And it wasn't her beauty, though she had that of course. She wore it like a raincoat -practical, only there to keep her dry when it showers so that she could get onto the important things, her real focus -- whatever that was at the time.
I think it was the allergy that started it. Like my Father, I have a bit of a sensitive nose when it comes to feathers. It was maybe a fair spring -- and the pollen I had to contend with was quite enough, thank you. She was striding quite willingly through the castle with a plump speckled hen tucked under each arm. I met her first without looking -- face, stupidly I admit - in one of the Nicomathean Puzzlebooks I'd managed to get a facsimile of from the library. It was teenage hubris, of course, but I had been fairly certain I'd be able to solve the ancient mystery on the walk from Ravenclaw Tower to Arithmancy. Her hubris then, was basilisk shaped. She'd transfigured chickens and tried to get them to lay eggs without much luck, so she'd been into Hogsmeade and haggled one of her family heirlooms for some real ones with a farmer she'd met in the Hog's Head.
Inevitably, we collided. In a cloud of feathers and squawking I was struck. Quite undignifiedly, we fell.
"You," she growled, two weeks later when she saw me making an effortless draught of peace while hers was frothing a warning yellow. So it goes without saying, we had our difficulties.
It wasn't until adulthood, with all the (alleged) maturity that comes with later life that we put aside our differences. She: A regular feature in the world of celebrity cryptozoology. I: a lonely insomniac intern in a difficult job which I could tell no one about. She was drunk already, or flushed with life -- you can never quite tell with Gabriella.
"FitzHarrow," she'd said, cool as ever. I hadn't realised she'd even remembered my name.
"Dedalus," I'd answered, frankly happy to have something to do other than stare moodily into the weak grimy remnants of my drink.
"Do you remember sixth year? The red cap incident?"
"How could I forget," I had said, thinking of the time our hapless Care of Magical Creatures professor had forced an unlucky few of us to chase some dratted things around the grounds and castle after they'd got loose.
"Well, man. Look sharp," she'd said, grabbing my hand. "There's a particularly nasty Grindylow behind me and I'd like to get away."
I'd craned over a shoulder to get a glimpse of the Grindylow, or rather 'Grindylow' but she'd grabbed my jaw and turned my gaze to fix on hers.
"Where would you go if you could go anywhere?" She said.
'Um," I said.
She slapped me lightly on the cheek. "No time. Grindylow, remember? Hop to it. Think about it," she demanded, eyes dark and laughing. " Say the first thing that comes into your head."
I was drunk then, if not on firewhisky then on something else, even more potent and bad for the liver. "Annstead Links," I breathed. "The beach at Annstead."
She'd let me go, and nodded. Then dragged me up and out into the dark lamplit street and tucked her arm within mine.
"Yusef," she'd said, looking up at me with that smile that said she'd won something, the one that would mean that she'd beat me in Transfiguration or a Duel and I'd be sulking for a month. "Take me there," she said.
"Okay," I said, and I did.
I kissed her there for the first time amongst the sand dunes where my brothers and I used to pretend to build forts and play Knights. Then I took her home.
I didn't see her after that night for three years. I read the papers, which had grinning photos of her sent all the way from Tibet with her arm around a dragon or some other insanely dangerous and hard to find beast.
There was a chance that she'd never come back. That we'd be comets flashing in the dark. She always has, though. That's the way it would always be for us, and I made my choice at seventeen.
𝕰𝖆𝖗𝖑𝖞 𝕷𝖎𝖋𝖊𝕭efore Hogwarts, Lydia and her brother Alexander were raised in the Bristol muggle community. Their father Yusef, due to his job, was always very mysterious, as he'd come back at strange hours sometimes and could never talk about the 'accidents' he had.
Very intelligent, Yusef made sure Lydia and Alex were brought up loving knowledge, history, languages and the sciences. Quiet, though warm and loving, he was less demonstrative in his affections than Gabriella, whenever she returned from far flung places gifting them strange treasures and whirling them around with hugs and kisses.
Still, he could always be counted on making sure they had whatever they needed, being a calm, rational ear, and making them his special hot chocolate (secret ingredient= cinnamon) and giving them a puzzle to solve whenever they were upset.
Yusef taught them a little bit about the magic world, so that they wouldn't miss out or be surprised when their letter from Hogwarts came, though he was sure to leave some of the greater mysteries so that they could be explored by them on their own. Doing this, he fostered the same insatiable curiosity that he and his wife share.

𝖂hen Lydia was four, her pet tabby cat Gil(gamesh) turned a violent shade of pink, along with all the furniture, carpet, and walls. Even her aunt's hair wasn't safe!
Her magic was so strong that it took a while even for her father and aunts to turn the poor cat back to his natural shade. Her family never bought her anything pink again, to Gilgamesh's relief.

Here's a memory I can remember quite well. No need for a pensieve or any of those fancy things Father keeps locked away in his office.
It was summer. I remember because the light outside was bright and warm and Father was finding it difficult to make Alex go outside and enjoy the sunshine (he always had a head in his books, even then) and more difficult, if possible, to get me to come in!
We were at home in the Bristol house upstairs where we had to share a room because Aunt Cylla, Aunt Ariadne and our cousins had come to stay. It would have been fine if it was just Alex and me -- we would have been able to plot! We were planning ways to annoy our older cousins. We couldn't do it while we were in the same room.
Aunt Cylla and Aunt Ariadne used to give us gifts. Aunt Cylla's were boring -- things like extra coats and socks or perfumes. Aunt Ariadne's were awful! And that year, Mum wasn't there to tell her that we didn't want her stupid presents, so we had to act polite and say yes thank you. Dad's always too polite to those two even though they hate him...
Aunt Ariadne bought a great present for Alex that year -- a magical little model train with lots of little model villages and trees that you could put in your room and it would build little tracks and villages on its own around your room -- that was wicked! I wanted to play with it but Alex wouldn't let me -- he said I would break it. I was annoyed.
I hoped Aunt Ariadne would get me my own -- maybe even better! But when I opened my gift it was a box full of ugly pink hair bows which would tie themselves. I told Dad that I didn't want them but he made me thank her and try them on. I was very young and had a bit of a tantrum, and Dad was telling me not to fuss, and I wanted Mum to be there, and Alex was acting smug over his stupid model train and so when Aunt Cylla tried to put a bow in my hair I shouted.
"I. Hate. PINK!"
And then all the carpets, all the fancy wallpaper and my chest of drawers and bedset and everything was all this bright horrible shade of pink. Even Aunt Cylla's hair! A bright pink bob! Though she immediately fixed it with her own magic. Poor Gil had been sleeping on my bed at the time and he was as pink as all the rest. He woke up with a start and started yowling when he saw his own little pink paws.
While they were all excited about my magic and me being a witch, I sneaked away and put those awful bows in the bin!

Yusef FitzHarrow is a (mostly) Muggle-born Wizard who works as an Unspeakable for the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry of Magic. He first met his wife at Hogwarts, when her family moved, though they initially didn't get on as he was a Ravenclaw, and she a Slytherin.
Often more content among the Muggle world, in which he grew up, while his wife travelled, he wanted to raise their children amongst the peace and relative simplicity of muggles and limited their exposure to magic growing up, for fear they would not see the wondrous thing it was and learn to take it for granted.
He had seen many powerful pure-blood wizards during his time at school and employed at the ministry, and hated how divided and polarised they were, especially towards those of non-magical heritage. He tried to bring his children up in the most diverse way he could, by taking them on holidays across the world, and by immersing them in muggle life and knowing the muggle community around them in Bristol.
The FitzHarrows are descended from the illegitimate child of Harrow Marcellus, a powerful pureblood wizard in the early fourteenth century. They were shunned from magical society and therefore wholly joined Muggle society and attempted to leave their Wizarding ancestry behind, though there have often been Wizards present in the line. It remains a sore and unspoken subject within the FitzHarrow family, and most times, children aren't told about it. Yusef found out through conversations with the Dedalus family when he and Gabriella got married.

Eldest daughter of a northern branch of the noble Dedalus wizarding family. Doctor Gabriella Dedalus, P.H.D. is a famous Cryptozoologist and travels the world for her studies, as well as lecturing and publishing on the topics.
Living in France in her early years, she studied at Beauxbatons, until her N.E.W.T.s, when she and her family moved to England, transferring her to Hogwarts for the last few years of her education.
She is named after her great grandmother Gabriella Gryffindor Sanchez, who was an English witch with the famous Godric as (very) distant cousin. Sometimes leaving for dangerous climes for months or even years on end, in search of a particularly reclusive creature, Gabriella saw her children grow up through letters and magical photographs.
Both Lydia and Alex treasure the small things they received from her over the years while she was on her travels, and of course the incredible souvenirs she brought back.
She often falls out with her younger sisters, 'Aunt Cylla' -- dark haired and terrifying -- and 'Aunt Ariadne' -- the blonde French 'golden' youngest daughter, who takes the pure-blood wizarding family seriously but mostly says she should be looking after her children and not leaving them to be raised by her (muggle-born) husband.

Lydia and her twin brother Alex are very close, both receiving their Hogwarts letter on their shared birthday on Halloween. While Lydia likes sport, Alexander is the more studious of the two, though they both love learning.
They have that strange way of knowing each other that only twins have. When Lydia cuts her hair, they look very similar, and so sometimes they like to pretend to be each other.
Alexander is quieter and more nervous than Lydia, however he has a constantly-running strategic mind. Very intelligent, he spends time listening and gathering information and assessing. He knows what power dynamics are important, and how to manipulate the system.
With eleven-year old pride, he believes he can do anything, should he put his mind to it. Together, he and Lydia make a dangerous team -- very competent, very daring, and full of youthful optimism.

It's very unusual for a wizarding family to live in a muggle community and attend a muggle school. Please explain why this is the case or change it so they better represent a wizarding family.

Character Special Race/Talent: Human
Character Backstory: Malakai was born in the city of Kitakyushu, in Kyushu, Japan. He was the second child born in the Shibue family, his older brother being eight years older. The family lived in a small, modest apartment in the southern part of the city. It was a convenient location — his father was a blue-collar worker, and everything was easy to reach within their home, including his father’s workplace, his brother's school, and his kindergarten. His mother was English, she came to Japan to study art and, after graduating from university, moved to Kitakyushu, where she found a job in marketing.
Childhood in the city was uneventful, dull, but Malakai made sure to splash it with color. His brother was his biggest inspiration, he admired him and wished to emulate him. By the time Malakai started elementary school, his brother was already fifteen, and just as much of a troublemaker as Malakai would become. Malakai began karate solely because of his brother, though he later chose boxing for himself. He also tried skateboarding because of his brother, but that only resulted in a broken nose and a few days in hospital. Needless to say, that was the last time he’d tried it. His entire childhood he spent chasing the image of his brother, whom he saw as cool and edgy – the kind of person he wanted to be. His brother was intelligent too, so Malakai certainly had big shoes to fill. He studied, exercised, found his people, and made a name for himself in the area – a burning fire, always up to something, just as infamous as his older brother.
But when he turned nine, his parents decided to move back to his mother’s country – England. His brother stayed in Kyushu; he was in his last year of high school and had decided to study computer engineering at the city’s university. Leaving shattered Malakai’s whole world. He had carefully built a reputation and a life for himself in Kitakyushu, only for it to be torn away from him without a choice or say. It was decided: he was going to move, and there was no question or discussion.
Manchester wasn't that bad – better than he expected. But it could never compare to Kitakyushu. Here, he didn’t have his older brother, just himself, and it made him feel lonely. During the year he lived in Manchester before leaving for Hogwarts, he learned something that shaped him forever: he stopped committing. If he got attached, it could be torn away from him just as easily as his home and friends had been, even by people he completely trusted – his parents. Manchester was fine, he found friends and a place for himself, and was as menacing as he had been in Kitakyushu, but he believed it was all temporary. Maybe they’d move again, to another country, and it would all be ripped away once more. He couldn't risk getting attached if that might happen. So, contrary to his risk-seeking nature, he didn’t take a risk, and he didn’t commit. This was a passing chapter, he told himself.
Going to Hogwarts was a decision the boy made out of spite. Only a year had passed since they moved from Japan, and he still felt a bitter taste in his throat. He wanted to run away from his parents, he wanted to show them – because he never got to put it into words – how much he despised their decision to move, how furious he was to be torn from his brother. Hogwarts was his way of speaking, a fury that burned inside him, and a trust in him that was forever altered.
First Instance of Magic: The first time he performed magic was in Manchester, England, when he was ten years old. He was sent to detention at school for being late several days in a row. Sitting in the classroom, profoundly bored, he stared at the blank sheet of paper on which he was supposed to write an essay. His mind was empty, his chin resting on his palm as he gazed absentmindedly out of the window. It was raining outside, and he would have much preferred to be out there than in the smelly old classroom.
To everyone's surprise, it suddenly began to rain from the ceiling. This was both unseen and unheard of. The building was single-storey, so there couldn’t have been a leak from above, and the ceiling was certainly intact. Then, why was it raining as if the ceiling were open to the sky? The students and teacher quickly evacuated, and the police were called. However, by the time they arrived, ten minutes later, the rain had stopped and the classroom was clear. The children were allowed to go home. Malakai was as confused as everyone else. He had no idea it was his doing.

Character Backstory
Bartholomew was born and brought up in a historical village of the magical world named Godric's Hollow. His father was a wizard, and his mother was also a witch, and both of them are alumni of Hogwarts. Despite that, he would also be known as a Half-Blood because his mother was Muggle-born. Bartholomew has experienced the beautiful coordination between the magical and Muggle worlds. His parents fell in love when they both were students of Hogwarts. Their love started when they both were in Year 5 of Hogwarts, and they both married after completing their school. Bartholomew was good at his studies. He learnt basic mathematics and different subjects from his mother. His father was a Quidditch player for the Gryffindor team as a Seeker during his Year 4 to Year 7, so he has also taught him broomstick riding on a flying toy. He has also spent a lot of his time in the Muggle world with his maternal grandmother, and he developed his skill of music in the Muggle world by himself. Though he spent his time with his grandmother in the Muggle world, he made a lot of friends there and played non-magical games with them, which was very hard to understand for Bartholomew because of being born in a wizard family. Bartholomew also ensures not to say anything about the magical world to his Muggle friends, like the owl who acts as a postman or self-working cutlery. His home life was very comfortable and peaceful. In the house, his favourite space was a small and cozy room. His mother has kept a lot of Muggle instruments for Bartholomew, because Bartholomew felt music has its own magic, so it doesn't require anything extra in that. While he is incredibly excited for his journey to Hogwarts, he intends to pack his instruments so that he never feels disconnected with music.
First Instance of Magic
When Bartholomew was 7 years old, he experienced his first instance of accidental magic while he was sitting in his musical room. It was raining a little outside, and Bartholomew was trying to create a melody that could synchronise with that raining vibe. As he started creating a melody, he was so completely lost in that vibe that his emotions started to come out, and he hit a sharp note with his vocals, and he noticed that the drops of rain outside his window were moving strangely. So he started singing to the melody newly made by him, and then the rain drops started moving with the rhythm of that melody for a few moments. As the melody started to fade out and his emotions got back to normal, that magic broke, and the drops started to sprinkle outside normally. He tried to do that again so many times, but he couldn't make it happen again.

Character Special Race/Talent: N/A (Human)
Character Backstory:Ian was born into the wealthy, Pureblood Norwood family as their second son. Everyone adored him as an infant for his strikingly pale skin, at least until the healers officially confirmed he had albinism. While it didn't really disrupt his daily life, it did mean growing up with constant, lingering stares from strangers no matter where he went.
His parents loved him, but his mother desperately wanted a daughter, prompting her to try one last time. It was another boy. Physically and mentally drained by three grueling pregnancies that all yielded sons, Mrs. Norwood finally gave up on ever having a little girl.
His older brother was Caspian Calvik Norwood, the eldest. A sixth year Ravenclaw just like their mother, Caspian was effortlessly brilliant, never pulling in a mark below an 'E' or 'O' on his schoolwork. Ian knew his golden boy older brother was already taken, though he never cared to think about it.
Finally, there was five year old Fionn Cormac Norwood, the baby of the house. A giggling, ink covered, beautiful disaster of a kid, Ian loved his little brother to pieces. He constantly teased the toddler by snatching his self inking quills for a chaotic game of "if you want it, come and get it," bringing some much needed warmth to their otherwise quiet, stuffy family estate.
First Instance of Magic:
It was the weekend of a gloomy Saturday when Ian was ten. He was teasing his brother, Fionn, by holding a toy snitch just out of the toddler's reach. Fionn didn't easily cry because Ian usually gave his things back eventually, but this time the little boy got incredibly frustrated, screaming and stomping his foot angrily. Startled by the sudden, piercing tantrum, Ian accidentally dropped the toy, and it rolled away into a dark, narrow gap right beneath a heavy, solid oak wardrobe. Annoyed that his game was ruined, Ian knelt down on the floor and stretched his arm out, desperately straining to reach under the furniture. He couldn't even touch it. Out of pure, sudden frustration, Ian let out a sharp sigh—and completely without his control, a loud BANG echoed through the room. The heavy wardrobe doors spontaneously burst wide open and slammed shut so hard that the glass knobs shattered, showering the floor with sparks. The toy snitch didn't move an inch, but Ian scrambled backward in absolute shock, staring wide-eyed at the broken wardrobe doors.
The five-year-old ran off to tell Mrs. Norwood, and Ian got strictly scolded later on for destroying the furniture.

Dottie is from a long line of wizarding farmers established from humble beginnings in the middle ages with the breeding of Ryeland sheep which are well known for having incredibly high quality wool. Through the centuries they have gradually transitioned to ranching other magical creatures for the humane harvesting of wand cores and potion ingredients, particularly bicorn. Nevertheless, the family maintains their sheep herd on the outskirt perimeter of their lands as a sort of buffer (in addition to a number of magical wards and protective charms) to ward off curious muggles who might otherwise wonder what they were up to and why such a large parcel of land wasn't otherwise being put to good use.
After inheriting the family estate and business from her not-quite-late-but-mentally-checked-out father, Dottie reigned as the head of her family for many years, enjoying the company of her dutiful husband and rearing a handful of children. In age and with the understanding that commitment to the family estate must be fostered early, responsibilities were gradually delegated to her offspring, and then their offspring.
With her husband's recent passing in a tragic ranching accident involving a bicorn (they are known to be aggressive towards doting husbands), Dottie struggled to maintain the same level of investment and interest in her affairs. He had contributed so much, not only to her life, but also to the running of the farm. She struggled at times to continue without him and experienced a period of low mood and motivation. In that time, her eldest grand-daughter graduated from Hogwarts with excellence and showed great tenacity, bringing home many novel ideas to launch the estate forward into a new era of success. Even as Dottie regained her former spark and recovered her energy, she never could quite bring herself to reclaim her former control. Now seemed as good as any other time to pass the torch.
As capable as her grand-daughter demonstrated herself to be, however, the transition was not without its difficulties. The world is ever changing, but Dottie had always trended towards the maintenance of tradition and its more archaic approaches. Her progeny, on the other hand, was keen to embrace transformation. And change could be...challenging. More than once, Dottie found herself butting heads on matters of estate management, trying to put a stop to some alteration or another. Call it pride. Call it fear. Whatever it was, however, it was beginning to create friction in the fabrics of the family. Dottie, despite her misgivings, at least had the sense to recognize that.
Rather than allow drama to fester, she began to seek opportunities to embark on a new adventure in her life—something that would give her grand-daughter the space for independence and herself a new meaningful chapter to write. So when a post opened at Hogwarts that would allow her to share her experience and knowledge of animal and magical creature husbandry with the next generation of youth, she hesitated only long enough to pack her finest tea ware.

First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
Dorothy's first instance of magic is a secret she will likely take with her to the grave. It was known to her from a very young age that she, as the eldest daughter of the Dunlot family, would one day inherit. This had inspired a sense of both responsibility and awe from early on. For as long as she could remember, Dottie aspired to be involved in all aspects of the family business. She would feed and water the animals, turn them out, keep them clean, muck their pens and stalls, chase away gnomes and chizpurfles and other pests, and whatever else was required of her. Naturally, these tendencies were enthusiastically encouraged by her parents.
So when it came a spring during her 8th year when her favourite mare foaled for the first time, Dottie was loathe to leave their sides. Not even the threat of confiscation of her broom would deter her. Late one night when the family was asleep, Dottie snuck out to the barn, candle in hand, and settled in one corner of the stall. For hours, she sat caressing the filly as she slept, fighting off sleep. She didn't want to miss a moment! Unfortunately, sleep—as it was wont to do—would eventually overcome the young witch; and when it did, an erant movement would knock the candle from its holder.
Flames broke out almost immediately, the dry hay regrettably serving as an efficient fire starter. It wouldn't be long before the heat, flickering light and anxious whinnying of the mare woke Dorothy from her shallow sleep. Even still, she roused to see that fire had already taken hold of one of the stall walls. Fearing not only for the safety of the horses, but also herself, panic naturally erupted. They were blocked in. She tried to reach the water pail, but it was too near to the fire. Every time she reached for it, the heat drove her back. Moreover, the mare, in her own rising panic, accidentally kicked it over, steam hissing where it soaked shavings and hay.
With no idea what to do and feeling well in over her head, she was just about to scream for help when it happened. The filly, in her terror and lack of understanding, bolted at the gate. Straight for the fire. Reflexively, Dottie shouted, "NO!" The next thing she knew, the fire had been extinguished. Every last flame. Filly and mare ran from the stall into the free air of the adjoining paddock, free of burn or injury. Dorothy sat, stupified, uncertain what had just happened. If it weren't for the evidence of burned hay and scorched sidings, she might have thought it was just a bad dream. Naturally, she high-tailed it out of there and snuck herself straight into bed. Never again did she bring a candle anywhere near the barn.

Character Backstory: Elara Hawthorne was born into a half-blood family. Her mother was a Muggle, while her father was a half-blood wizard. When he finally told her the truth about magic, she struggled to accept that he'd kept it hidden for so long. It wasn't an easy conversation, or even a single one, but over time she chose to stay with him. From then on, magic remained a family secret.
As the youngest of three, Elara was always watching her older siblings. Theodore Mal Hawthorne, the eldest of the Hawthorne siblings and the only boy, was rarely still for long and eventually left for Ireland to study dragons. By then, Elara was too young to know him well, so most of her memories came from the stories everyone else told. Clara was different. She was the sibling Elara followed from room to room, asking endless questions whenever Hogwarts came up.
Their father never seemed to run out of stories. Some were about magical creatures, others about old wizarding families or places hidden from the Muggle world. Elara listened more than she spoke, usually with a book nearby or a pocket full of feathers and smooth stones she'd picked up outside. She wasn't waiting for adventure to find her. She was waiting for her Hogwarts letter, convinced it would explain the world she'd spent years hearing about.
First Instance of Magic:
When Elara was seven, Clara had came back from her first year at Hogwarts as it was summer break. Elara had been 'happy' for her older sister as she learned a new spell and she was showing it to their parents as they praised her. Elara felt a rise of an ugly heat in her chest, jealousy, not that she'd admit it. In a moment of pure white the glass of water in her hand shattered as the water froze and too split into parts of ice. The room went dead silent and all eyes were on her.
