Can I use the site pet images of two colored devil's spawn rabbit and snowy owl in Lillian and Claire's encyclopedia?

Also, more of a lore question: Do pregnant wizard mothers have things to tell what gender the baby is, or is the baby always a surprise?

I believe most of the images used for the informational parts of the site can be used by the public, so yes.

There isn't much canon lore on wizarding pregnancies, nor do we have any official written lore on site, but historically there have always been methods for humans to predict the gender of a fetus- although the legitimacy outside of modern methods have always been questionable. It wouldn't be too out-there to say wizards use these old methods, but put their own magical spin on them with herbs, divination, or potions and whatnot.

1. I saw that, in the pet application, it's possible for the pet to be a stray pet I picked up. Could I say I got a stray kitten from the muggle world? Also, does the rp need to be at the pet menagerie?

2. The last name of a character has to be the father's? Can the character use the mother's last name and not the father's? Keep it "secret"?

Yep, your pet doesn’t have to come from the shop, nor does the RP have to be there!

No, it’s fine to use your mother’s last name.

What Eonaria said is right. I want to add more things to add to her answer.

1. Yes, you can get a stray kitten from the Muggle neighbourhood as long as it makes sense. Purebloods and Wizardborn won't be able to get it from there since there's International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy. For the RP place, you don't have to do it in Magical Menagerie.

2. Depends on the culture and other reasons behind that. There are instances in which the kids use the surname from the mother instead, such as an unmarried parent, divorce, cultural, etc. Make sure it makes sense. I'm not sure about the "secret" you meant, but staff would ask the reason why it's a secret to ensure no rules are broken. This doesn't mean your character wouldn't be able to have a secret that they eventually find out in character. It's more of OOC confirmation that the plot doesn't break any rules.

I understand. The surname would not be a 'secret', it's more of the fact that the father is 'ashamed' of the chacacter since they come from a muggle family and the father is kind of a... 'magic-phobic' person (?) So he doesn't want to be related with the character, which is why he decided that the character would use the mother's surname. It's a plot that can be explained or developed later on.

Hello! I've just reactivated my old character, and of course since I've been playing with other characters this one was removed from the Index and therefore he didn't move up the past years. He should be starting the fourth year next year, and I'm definitely going to reapply for the Index in the next few days, but he should be a third year now instead of a second year. Can he be moved up now? If so, who should i owl? If not, can I ask for a change of his birth year to make him a year younger and be consistent with what's currently displayed? Thank you in advance!

Hello, and welcome back as Damian!

You can not get moved up a grade right now, but as long as you do an index reapplication before July you will be moved up a grade then as usual. There is also the advancement program to look into to bump another grade

(If I am wrong in any of this, I am sure someone will come around and correct it!)

What Maximilianus said is correct. Your birthyear won't be changed, nor will you be moved up now, instead Damian would be considered held back a year. When reregistering, you will be asked to give a reason for that, maybe Damian was pulled out of school because a relative was very sick and missed graduation.
You can catch up with your year in summer through the advancement program.

Hi. I have a question and I can't find any answers to fit my question. I want to continue my character in first year going into the next school year because my real life got super hectic and I wasnt able to do much on here. How do i stay first year? Will i automatically be moved up?
