Quidditch Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor - Winter 2026

As both herself and Al rose to join the students in the sky, Oonagh gave a nod towards her fellow bench warmer. "Ah suppose it be up tae us to show thaim how it's done, huh?" Those where the parting words with which she kicked herself off the ground. The familiar weight of the bat in her hand as Ethan and her would rule the sky now. The sight of Pax's dropping body a familiar sight to the whirlwind and the usual sign that it was her turn now.

The Bench

Not a lot was happening on the bench, but one thing was for certain: the Gryffindors did not seem to like Winnie's successes with the Quaffle. While the two Ravenclaws seated on the bench didn't seem to do anything too productive with their conversation, the young Gryffindor booed as loudly as she could. Certainly, Winnie would be able to hear it.

The Quaffle

'And Gryffindor are back at it! To contest Ravenclaw's lead, we've got one Mr Alphonse Toussaint. CAN HE DO IT?'

The audience did not shout back, 'YES HE CAN!'. Instead, they just cheered. For Winnie, or Alphonse, or Rosaline, or Frederick, who knew.

'That's a solid shimmy from Everhart! If only it had more of an impact...'

'Harper steals the Quaffle away from Toussaint! BUT! Buckley just barely blocks it. Is this a turning point!?'

The Quaffle game was tense. But as much as Frederick tried with his very fine high-speed block, and as much as Alphonse tried to take the Quaffle away, Lady Luck was just really on Winnie's side. 'Whoa, she scores twice? How does she— and she does it again? Wow. That's sixty points for Ravenclaw.'

The Snitch

Maybe the snitch had given Aodhan such a hard time that he just gave up. This did not make the snitch happy. It flapped its wings indignantly and would chase Aodhan around, but from behind, so that he couldn't see it. The keener-eyed fans in the crowd were going wild.

The Beaters

After the very recent bludger mishaps from Ethan, some might have thought that he would try to defend someone on his team instead. That was not the case. He took aim, but so did Ebony, seated on Quinn's broom. 'Oh, what's this? A bombastic bludgerous show-off? Who will win, who will win...'

Ebony and Quinn tried, but Ethan nimbly dodged out of the way, all while swinging a bludger right back at them. 'Looks like Smith's got it – oh! Yikes. Buy one, get one free? Oh, and it's still going... right at Forville! Smith shoots, and he, well, scores. Is that... is that Forville's broom? I hope that's insured. Goodness, how exhilarating!'

Meanwhile, Aston and Oonagh hovered about. 'Beckett looks like a fly on the wall of Salinger's penalty lap. I can't imagine it's that interesting. And Brown, what are you doing just flying there? Quidditch players have no sense of agency these days!'

KOB Fouls

With the exception of Oonagh, the Gryffindors had their heads in the game! Aodhan had decided he'd had enough – of the Snitch, or of Winnie scoring points, it was hard to tell. But whatever the case, he flew right at her, and fouling certainly seemed to be a lot easier for him than Snitch-spotting. But that didn't mean he got away with it. 'Oi, Shaw, you know that's not allowed. Penalty lap.'

Avis wouldn't have an easier time at not getting seen. She swiftly did away with the problem that Ethan was proving to be, sending him, too, off of his broom. There was no one flying around waiting to save anyone who had fallen. 'And yet another falling player, courtesy of Avis Greymond. You're not invisible, you know! Penalty lap.'

The young Everhart held her Comet 180 tight, leaning forward. Turning around to observe Winnie Athanatos, the Chaser of the Ravenclaw team, she wanted to perform an action she hadn’t done before: the Woolongong Shimmy. Yet the action was in vain; the Ravenclaw chaser still scored 60 points. Not really happy about herself and the outcome, Rosaline could only try to cheer for other teammates. Ethan and Aodhan had successfully knocked four opponents out of brooms. She cheered loudly for them, “Yes, let’s go, Gryffindor.” Thought there was a quick turn, Ethan fell to the ground. She winced at the scene as she hovered in the sky.

The wind was blowing; she clenched her fist with determination to win this game.

During the flight from the reserves bench to his position in front of the three hoops, time seemed to stretch for Frederick. The loud crowd of students, splashed across the stands in red and blue, along with the shouts of his teammates, faded into the background. All Fred could hear was the wind rushing past his ears, his racing heartbeat, and his father’s voice cheering him on. He swallowed hard, pulled on the broom handle to spin himself 180 degrees, and faced the entire pitch ahead.

Frederick Buckley could hardly believe it, but the opposing Chaser, the one who had already scored all one hundred of Ravenclaw’s goals, was charging straight at him like lightning, the Quaffle clutched in her hand. The eleven-year-old boy, caught in a whirlwind of nerves, adrenaline, and raw instinct, reacted without thinking. His eyes tracked Winnie’s movements, and the second she released the Quaffle toward the hoop, Fred launched himself in the same direction. With the fingertips of his fully outstretched left arm, he managed to deflect the Quaffle away.

The rest of the round seemed to unfold at breakneck speed. Buckley shouted like a madman, celebrating his save, but he barely had time for that. Moments later, he conceded several goals and watched another one of his teammates get knocked off their broom, though not before that teammate managed the remarkable feat of sending a perfectly aimed Bludger that took down three opposing players. Determined and hopeful, even without having blocked every shot, Frederick refused to let himself be shaken. That first block would stay with him forever.

She had to say, this wasn't looking good. They were down to what, four players still in the game? She looked left and right. And, yes, she was the only one left on the bench. All her fellow second string players had been called in already. Ophelia tried to look on the optimistic side-- at least their point total was still way above the Gryffindors. They could turn this game around, yet.

“‘Spose so, Oogie!” Alphonse called out in reply to Oonagh with a smirk plastered upon his countenance. At least, he hoped he understood her right with her thick accent—

Briefly glancing at the scoreboard for a hair of a moment amid the game, the third year Chaser winced in defeat. After back to back Quaffle grabs ending in failure, Alphonse had yet to earn a single point for Gryffindor. He was indeed no match for the red-haired menace, but alas, the Caribbean-bred boy felt a seed of pride once she was blatched and no longer an obstacle.

It was his time to shine if he wanted to make first-string.

Aston let his mind wander a bit while he keeps an eye out for bludgers and the like around Aly. Despite the points advantage they now had it certainly wasn't looking good for them with only four players left in the game, still Aston is determined not to let the 60 whole points Winnie scored for them go to waste. They can still win this.
