IMOG Sport Sign-Ups closed

This thread is part of the 2026 International Magical Olympic Games.

Though of course visitors to Koldovstoretz can choose to just tag along for the fun of watching the Olympic sports and enjoy cheering on their friends and schoolmates, they can also be athletes themselves! Everyone who is here for IMOG has the opportunity to participate in one of the four sporting events being offered during the competition: Figure Skating, Ice Hockey, Summoner's Curling, and Bobsledding. This is the thread in which you can sign up for one of these sports.

What are the rules for sign-ups?

• You MUST be indexed in order to sign up for a sport.
• Each character may only sign up for one event. AKA: one account cannot do multiple events. You must think about, stats-wise and personality-wise, which sport your character would most likely do.
• Your PC and your iNPC can do the same event; just note that they will be competing against each other and you will be expected to post for both of them!
• For team/partner events, your partner(s) do NOT have to be from the same school as you; e.g., there can be a Hockey team made up of a student from Koldovstoretz, a student from Castelobruxo, and two students from Hogwarts, so long as they follow the age limits in the next bullet point.
• Each sport will be split into two groups. For Ice Hockey, Figure Skating, and Bobsledding, first-years through third-years will compete in Heat 1, and fourth-years through seventh-years will compete in Heat 2. For Summoner's Curling only, Heat 1 will consist of years 2-4 and Heat 2 will consist of years 5-7. As such, seventh-years will never be competing against first-years.
• This is for students only; any adult accounts may not participate in any sporting events.
• Non-staff adult accounts are not permitted to visit, even to watch or cheer on friends.
• Sign-ups for all sports will close at 11:59 p.m. EST on February 14 for the start of the actual events. Each event differs in length and in moderation; please read the sport descriptions below before signing up for an event.

What are the different sports?

• Figure Skating will be held February 16 in-game. This can either be a solo event or a partner event; individuals will compete separately from pairs and of course years are separated into the aforementioned two heats, so this sport will award a total of 6 gold medals (2 individual, 4 partner). This means that students in years 1-3 cannot be on a team with any users from 4-7. This sport will require ACC rolls for individuals and ACC and STR rolls for pairs; both individuals and pairs will have the opportunity to use WIS rolls as well. This sport will last for 2 rounds, each lasting one week. This event will be hosted in mass threads, one per heat (1-3, 4-7) and separated by invidual/partner as well for a total of 4 threads. • Ice Hockey will be held February 17 in-game. This will be a small team event of 4 people per team; years are separated into the aforementioned two heats, so this sport will award a total of 8 gold medals (one for each player of the winning teams from each heat). This means that students in years 1-3 cannot be on a team with any users from 4-7. Those teams who score the most points among each year will receive a gold medal, but each team will only play 1 match each. This sport will be moderated similarly to Quidditch in that each of the four people/positions will have different stat rolls. This sport will last for 3 rounds, each lasting 5 days. This event will be hosted in as many mini threads as needed to match each team up for their one match, rather than a mass thread. • Summoner's Curling will be held February 19 in-game. This is an individual event; years are separated into the aforementioned two heats (2-4 and 5-7), so this sport will award a total of 2 gold medals. This sport will require WIS, ARC, and EVA rolls. This sport will last for only 1 round and have 1 week to post. Players of this sport are required to have Accio, the Summoning Charm, in their trunk. Because of this, this sport is limited to years 2 and up. This event will be hosted in two mass threads, one per heat.
• Bobsledding will be held February 20 in-game. This is a partner event; years are separated into the aforementioned two heats, so this sport will award a total of 4 gold medals (one each for the winners of each heat). This means that students in years 1-3 cannot be on a team with any users from 4-7. This sport will be moderated similarly to Broom Racing in that players will have a chance to decide which action they would like to complete from a certain list and thus rolls will be based on the chosen action. Please note ahead of time that partners for this sport will essentially be riding a Two-Headed Dragon the entire time. This sport will last for 3 rounds, each lasting 5 days. This event will be hosted in two mass threads, one per heat.
