"Do do dooo, da dooo ba daaaa" Rosalyn said, sing-humming quietly to herself as she walked into the school. She had just gotten back from the holiday and had a good time seeing her parents. She was looking forward to classes again, well, for the most part. She didn't want to do anything too difficult, so she was hopeful that her professors would be kind to them as classes started back up!

She decided to walk into the Library and grab a book, as she was sure she'd be up late into the night because she always struggled with adjustments from place to place, so she wanted something to read in that case.

When she walked into the Library, though, she saw something she most definitely did not expect. It was absolutely gorgeous. Don't get her wrong, she loved the Library's normal look, but this was something else entirely. There was snow falling from the ceiling, and covering the shelves. She really hoped that the books weren't getting wet, but she doubted they would be.

She hadn't yet had the opportunity to meet the new Librarian, however she was hoping to someday. She seemed very kind, and Rosalyn quite loved the Library, so it was perfect!

She saw a bunch of people all gathered around the Librarian's desk, so she decided to go find out what was going on over there. When she did, she was not disappointed!

There were two different boxes, one looking almost like a present and the other was glass. She reached her hand into the present one, assuming that a gift would not just be left out if it wasn't meant to be taken! She pulled out two Chocolate Frogs, elated at the fact there was candy in there! She loved candy so, so much, and this was perfect!

Rosie decided to sit down for a moment and take everything in, and perhaps eat the frogs. She usually saved things, but it was the holidays, all bets are off then. As she was about to unwrap one of the frogs, she heard a voice come from near her, and she turned around to see where it was coming from.

"Hello. What's your favorite winter activity?" she heard, spotting the girl that had said it. She was pretty, with hair that looked almost like the chocolate she was about to eat.

"Hello there! My favorite activity is probably making snow cream with my mum. You take fresh snow and make some mixture of vanilla, coffee creamer, and sweetened condensed milk, put that on the snow, and tada! It's sweet and delicious! What about you?" she asked, not quite sure why the question had been asked of her in the first place but happy to respond!

Perhaps it has something to do with the glass jar... she thought, assuming it contained questions or something of the sort.

"What about you? Also, what's your name? I'm Rosie!" she said, introducing herself.

Natasha gasped as she pushed the library door open. The floor was covered in snow, and it was falling all around her. People were chatting about their holidays, sitting cozily on cushions and blankets strewn across the room, and a giant present sat atop the librarian's desk. She also spotted a small table overflowing with drinks and treats, and grinning, she drifted over to it and snatched a cupcake.

She took a bite and sighed happily as the chocolatey goodness flooded her taste buds. As she ate, she scanned the room, trying to decide what to do next.

Finally, she headed over to the gift box, her expression turning into one of glee as she saw the many wrapped packages inside. She pulled one out and, deciding to open it later, stuffed it into her pocket before continuing her self-tour of the library.

Beside the giant present, she noticed a tiny glass container. She pulled out a slip of paper and read it.

'Write a letter to your enemy wishing them a Merry Christmas'

One name instantly came to mind: Tyler Hudson. Her mind flashed back to when she first met him.

She was eight when the incident happened. She was walking down the street with Gary, both of them sucking on lollipops, when he appeared. He had demanded that they give him all their money, and Natasha had laughed in his face. To be fair, when a short and pudgy ten-year-old tries to act like a robber, how can you not? The boy had tried to hit her, she had ducked, and they had been mortal enemies ever since.

'Perhaps I should send him a letter, one with LOTS of glitter and slime,' she thought vindictively, completely missing the Christmas spirit of the task.

She slipped the paper into her pocket, then frowned when her fingers brushed something cold. Pulling it out, she grinned as she realized it was her enchanted snowball—one she had completely forgotten about. 'Well, no time like the present to pull a prank,' she thought, looking around for a victim.

She didn’t recognise many people, and she dearly hoped she’d find someone she knew rather than a random stranger. Just as she was about to give up, she noticed a head sticking up near the couches, and she moved closer. 'Lily! Perfect.'

She quickly flicked the snowball at Lily and sat back to enjoy the show, stifling a laugh as it smacked Lily on the head. She ducked out of sight as Lily glanced around suspiciously. The second time the snowball hit her, Natasha couldn’t stay quiet, and a chuckle escaped her mouth. Scolding herself, she smiled and waved as Lily noticed her and came over.

"Hey Natasha. Just wondering... was that your snowball which has been hitting me on my head for the last few minutes?"

"Hey, Lils!" she said. "What snowball?" she added, but her smirk probably gave the game away.

There was something about a snow day that the seventh-year Salinger simply could not resist. Whether it was out-of-doors like normal, or indoors like today's, the summery student did love a good winter, so long as she was properly bundled up. It felt odd to be wearing her favourite white fur coat, soft and downy in its fauxness, inside the cobblestoned corridors of Hogwarts, but she was not about to freeze in the library any more than she enjoyed shivering on the walk to Herbology classes during the week.

The attendees of this little winter wonderland party seemed to be mostly first-years, but Aly neither minded nor felt surprised. Almost every one of these school-sanctioned events nowadays seemed to be crowded with younger children, which was both a good and a bad thing: fearful for you never knew what might come out of the woodwork at a Hogwarts party, but exciting to know that the youth of tomorrow weren't scared off by their school's storied history. It was almost bittersweet, too - knowing that the reason there weren't as many elder years at this type of thing was because their classes were smaller. People had transferred. Left Hogwarts. Dropped off the radar and simply never come back. And those who were left? Well - they tended to have a healthy distrust of Hogwarts-hosted functions. But Aly was not one to distrust (well, at least most of the time), and so she was here to play in the snow and enjoy her childhood for one last time before her upcoming graduation in June.

The Ravenclaw happily collected her pair of chocolate frogs, skillfully opening one and snatching it before it could go away; she bit off the head with a snappy bite, enjoying the rush of sweetness melting on her tongue as she reached into the glass bowl to pull out an activity idea. The paper suggested to build a snowman with someone, but seeing as how most of the folks around her were firsties and also already quite busy, Aly decided that she would simply do one by herself in the corner.

She spent a good while rolling the ball for the base, enjoying the solitude and also the ability to people-watch. It really was so heartwarming to see those who would inherit Hogwarts after she was gone having fun within its hallowed walls, and she couldn't help but be filled with a mutual sense of pride and relief - that maybe, just maybe, the kids would be all right. Her arms were growing tired, though, and she rolled just a head, completely bypassing a middle subsection for her snowman; to match those who were in attendance here, it would be a snow-child instead. She had luckily brought one of her least liked Ravenclaw scarves, and she wrapped the thing - slightly dingy, with a stain she'd never really been able to quite get out no matter how many cleaning charms she cast on it - around her snowperson's little neck, using her wandtip to carve a simple smiley face into its bulbous snowy head. That was the one issue with being inside - there weren't any rocks about, and Aly was quite sure the librarian would murder her right then and there if she were to tear pages out of a book to create facial features.

With one last smile and look around, she turned and headed away from the library, off to do seventh-year things in a more seventh-year spot - but with much more hope for the next few years for the academy than she'd had before.

Angel O'Connor stood only in the entrance to the library and the doors were softly closed behind her as snow crunched with each step of her feet. One heartbeat she had forgotten to move.

It was snowing--indoor--slow, fine flakes floating down out of the heavens so as though the ceiling it was on had been induced to join the party. It smelled oddly and sweetly of the winter air, mixed with the old reeking of parchment and old books. Angel looked up and the flakes faded away, and she felt the flakes on her hair and sleeves, and a clear feeling of amazement went over her chest. Hogwarts liked to get her at an opportune moment.

Her eyes were moving around the redesigned room. Students were laughing and moved in and out of shelves snowballs flying in arcs that made her flinch involuntarily before she knew--nothing was being damaged. The shelves glistened slightly, spotlessly dry regardless of the snow lying all over them. That is brilliant, she said and she admired the thought that had been put behind it all.

Angel took a step, picked the strap of her bag, and stepped even deeper. The disorder did seem to look good in theory, but instead she was tempted by the more peaceful corner that Helen Doukas had arranged. Cushions, armchairs and heavy blankets would have provided a pocket of warmth in the winter magic. She sank into an armchair, threw on a blanket, and gave a sigh to which she had not known she was feeling. It was... safe. Homey. and almost vaguely like being snugged within a book one loves in bed.

A minute later, having done nothing but stare at the room, and hear the laughter, the faint sound of snow striking stone, and the crackling of warmth, Angel again rose and walked up to the desk of the librarian. She stood up at once and caught a glimpse through the window of the gift boxes, which were bright red, with a ribbon of gold. Before she reached inside she hesitated a moment.

In her fingers she was holding a small package. Her lips were sincerely smiling when she opened it. Chocolate frogs. She pulled one of them off, and unconsciously examined the card before snapping off a piece, enjoying the old flavor. The scrap of paper within, turned out, the more attracted her attention. Angel had read the wish one time... again, the second time more slowly, like making a memory of it. Something was growing into a warm part of her that was behind her ribs and she folded the note into her pocket rather than throwing it away.

An upright glass bottle was standing next to her, with carefully written prompts. Angel floated around it, nerves. She was not always an initiator of the conversation-but that, she guessed, was the idea. She made one little puff of breath, and taken one out, and flattened the paper between her fingers.

She was quick to her feet, looking around the seating place and going to the closest occupied place. There Angel smiled to the student with an expression, which was a little nervous.

And she said, hi, and lifted up the slip. It says I have to ask you what is your favorite winter tradition. She did not answer, but added, a little more confidently, I can trade you mine, should you like.

The girl had been worried the blonde girl would be taken aback by her sudden approaching. However, she didn't seem to mind, and answered her enthusiastically. "Snow cream? Lovely! Sorry, but isn't snow dirty?" She asked, more worried than curious. "As for me, I like having snow fights with my siblings. Having three brothers is either the best thing or the worst." She chuckled slightly.

Looking down at her hand, "Oh, uh, would you like a scone?" Maisie held out her hand and offered her a scone she'd picked up from the table. "I like the name Rosie. You look like a rose: you're very pretty. Rosie rhymes with mine; Maisie." She added.

Leaning back on the wooden bookshelf, she debated whether Rosie would be up to a snow fight. The library was a ready-made arena with snow in heaps at corners. She could already see small groups of people hurling snow at each other, accompanied by screams and laughter. Maisie wondered if there were certain enchantments on the books.

"Speaking of snow...would you like a snow fight?" Bending down she scooped a handful of snow and threw it slightly off center, hitting Rosie's trousers. She didn't know if she'd welcome a snow fight, hence she didn't strike on center.

It was unclear how much time had passed since she'd thrown the first ball, but it was certain they had a bang. Maisie was about to exit the library, out of breath with red cheeks when she lingered. Looking back at the winter wonderland of a library, it hit her just how marvelous the castle, the professors and students were. Everything was extraordinary. Besides, she has six more years to explore and understand everything.

𝕰stella was called a summerchild far too often to her liking. It wasn't that she was naive or if she preferred the mentioned season to winter, just the memories were better in those times. The harsh winds often left aching imprints in her mind. Perhaps this was to prove them wrong, or maybe even herself. Anyhow, she found herself in the midst of a winter tea party. Set amid the library, somewhat an unusual place to held it, but still it was probably the most comforting place for her. The place itself was a solace to her, the books a warm familiarity. It was probably her favourite place in the vast castle, excluding the astronomy tower. Restless moments were usually spent huddling up behind towers of books, whether it be for assignments or her own personal research. People didn't often perceive her as the bookworm type, maybe due to her falling asleep the moment the tutors so much as stepped inside her room. Clicking her tongue softly, she quickly dismissed the thought. Academics were not that entertaining when you were forced, rather than doing it feed your curiosity. Her conflicting thoughts were halted momentarily as she stepped inside the library. Not a lot of things took her breath away, but this could certainly quality for it. The entirety of it was adorned in silken snow, some even fell like pearls from the chandeliers. The sight made her recall the many Winter Balls her parents hosted. Unlike those balls, she could feel the warmth radiating from the way some laughes echoed and from the very atmosphere, overall. She saw some snug places at the corner, wrapped in blankets and warm tea. Letting the furcoat sink into her, she drifted through the small crowd, apparently most of them first years like her, towards the tray portioned with chocolate frogs and other varieties of sweets. Taking one in hand, she turned to gaze at the excited chatter of students from all years, though most admittedly belonged to the same year as hers. Taking a quick bite before it could run away, the sweet nostalgia of chocolate frogs greeted her. Apparently, each student had a little task to accomplish, simple ones of love like having a talk with the person beside you and such. She reached towards the small bowl which held the activities, and read the task quickly. She had to build a snowman with the person beside her, but considering she was quite isolated from the other folk, she advanced to someone around her own age, who also seemed to be distanced. However, just as she made way to them, they stood up and looked like they were about to depart. Praising fate in a not so friendly way in her head, she returned to her earlier spot. After taking another chocolate frog, she started doing her given task. Sculpting the biting snow, she remembered the numerous time she did this back home. A wistful smile lingered at her lips, she looked back to her artwork. It stood a bit crookedly, though proud. Can a snowman even be proud? Dismissing the silly thought promptly, she brushed off some stubborn snow from her hands. Glancing at other students, who were also finishing up their work and some even having snow fights, she strolled to a little nook in a corner. Usually Estella was not someone of reserved nature, but she felt the need to take a quiet break, observing. She noticed the new face of the librarian, or perhaps it was just her quick fading memories playing tricks on her again. She could spot some familiar faces here and there, each lost in their own bubble of joy. Taking a warm tea from one of the floating trays, she relaxed to her seat and the christmas spirit finally catching up to her. She had a feeling that this new year was going to be somewhat peculiar.

Damien woke up rather excited on this cool winter morning as he had heard about a tea party being hosted in the library and he sounded absolutely thrilled about it. He hasn’t truly been to many tea parties so he thought why not go and attend it could be fun, there was just one pressing issue..he didn’t know what he would wear. He decided on wearing his regular outfit but putting on a coat along with a beanie and scarf on himself, he had planned to go outside after he went to the tea party and watch as the snow fell from the sky, Damien truly did enjoy winter as it always fascinated him and allowed him to feel relax.

Once he was dressed for the occasion he made his way out of the Golden Eagle dormitory before making his way down the stairs of ravenclaw tower, a lot of people usually complained about how many stairs Ravenclaw tower had but honestly Damien enjoyed the workout as it kept him in shape and healthy so who was he to complain. Once he made his way down the last set of stairs he decided to stop in the Great hall and grab himself a little snack just something simple like toast before he made his way towards the library excited to see what was in store for him.

As he step to the library doors he quickly wiped the crumbs that were left over from the toast off his lips before stepping into the library. When he entered the library his eyes widen as this wasn’t a tea party he was expecting, instead he was met with a room that looked quite cozy but also snow falling from indoors it was honestly so unreal but absolutely incredible and thrilling to see. Now he was most definitely glad he attended, as he looked around he debated on what he wanted to due but with all of this snow he figured he might as well just have fun and make something out of the snow. He decided why not make something that was themed so he set his mind to working making a little snow sculpture of a humming bird as he thought it would look pretty.

As he began to work on it his mind started to drift off to when he was younger and would go outside making little snow sculptures to show his mother, he would always find the snow that would be mixed with ice but also somewhat soft as it always made it easier to sculpt using it. He honestly wish he could go back to that time as honestly life felt simpler and less chaotic like it does now.

Back to school! Sere spent her holiday at her grandmother's house, enjoying a Christmas Eve dinner with her neighbors and family for the first time as part of her grandma's reception. It felt awkward, indeed, but fun and heartwarming. This was the first time she felt like she couldn't wait for the upcoming holiday and what it would bring.

Although her winter break was fun, from chatting with her peers in the Common Room, she realized that many exciting things happen during Christmas and New Year's at Hogwarts and other international schools. She heard about holiday access to Hogsmeade and the events held there. There was a treasure hunt that Sere missed this time. Tenūsa was also holding an Open Day, which sounded pretty exciting. The Gryffindor had never slept in a traditional house before, although some of her family's hospitality units in Bali provided wooden cottages as part of the guest experience. Sere also heard about the International Magical Olympics being in preparation to be held in around February and was still considering whether she would attend this event.

Today, Sere was thinking about borrowing some non-fictions, most likely about magical creatures and astronomy, as additional study materials for this semester. She wore her winter cloak together with a red scarf and boots. As she reached the library entrance, the atmosphere was far from the image of library: a quiet place to read and lend books. There was even snowfall inside! A new year event? So, no new study materials today? However, the girl kept bringing her steps in.

Sere walked inside (though it felt more like stepped outside with this 5 inches of snow covering the floor) and gazed her surroundings. Some people were interacting, playing with the snow, and others were approaching the gift box at the librarian's desk. The girl followed the student in front of her, taking some of the presents provided by the librarian. "Oh, chocolate frogs!" Sere put one of it in her pocket and held the other in her right hand. She moved to the calmer area and grabbed a mug of hot chocolate topped with marshmallows. She also grabbed a gingerbread cookie from the snack section, bit and carried it away with her teeth. Her head turned here and there, searching for an empty space.

Finding a couch not far from where she was standing, she immediately walked over to the empty seat, grabbed a blanket, and curled up as she blew on the hot chocolate and nibbled on her gingerbread cookie. "So the new year event is being held in the library this year. I see..."

Sere remembered that another new year events had been held in previous years. That event was held at the Great Lake. If I'm not mistaken, it was held by the caretaker at that time. Funfact: Sere was still wearing the Pygmy Puff slippers she received from that event until now. What did I wish back then? Happiness without sadness? Sere tried to remember that moment. "I think I wanted to push all the sad tears away from my life." She hugged her knees, placed the hot chocolate beside her, and carefully opened the chocolate frog.

"That casual hope really happened now, magically..." She leaned back, examining the sweet treat. "Well, this is a school of magic, after all." Magical things happen everytime. Sere took a bite of the chocolate frog with a smile. "Then, let me say another wish." She mumbled to herself, "I am wishing for some positive changes in my life." She wondered what could this magical school do with her present wish.

Back at Hogwarts after the Christmas and New Year holidays, Frederick was still adjusting to the reality of spending more time at school than at home with his parents. He had grown up knowing he would attend the magical school, after all, his parents and ancestors had studied there too, but that didn’t stop him from missing home. With mixed feelings, torn between wanting to return to the castle and staying in the comfort of his home, he braced himself for the new year ahead, certain that he would soon adjust and the homesickness would fade.

It only took a few hours for that certainty to prove true. Back in the routine that had begun in September, Fred quickly showed himself to be as talkative and playful as ever, interacting with classmates and professors and enjoying time with the friends he’d made during his first months at Hogwarts. Lessons and homework kept him busy and distracted from those early-January thoughts, as did the strange, unmistakably magical occurrences, like a library completely covered in snow.

Upon hearing about this improvised winter wonderland, Frederick headed there as soon as he could, eager to witness something so unusual. His expectations were more than met. Arriving alone at the library, Fred was greeted by white snow falling from the ceiling and forming a thick layer on the floor, dusting some of the bookshelves as well. There were comfortable couches and armchairs tucked into inviting corners, with a wide variety of teas and treats nearby. As he trudged through the snow, taking in the details around him, Fred’s brown hair and blue sweater, matching his eyes, became speckled with white flakes, but he didn’t seem to mind.

One detail, more than any other, caught his attention, and he made his way toward the librarian’s desk for a closer look. The red box tied with a gold-colored ribbon drew him in; as he approached, Frederick discovered it held wrapped packages. He took one for himself and smiled in satisfaction upon finding two Chocolate Frogs inside. Distracted by the small gift, Fred thanked them and turned away without noticing the glass container beside the box. A little farther on, another detail caught his eye: seated on a blanket atop the snow was Samantha, the girl he had met just before the holidays began.

Without hesitation, Frederick started walking toward her. With a few steps still between them, he waved, trying to catch her attention. He hadn’t spotted any other familiar faces yet, so stopping to say hello felt like a good idea. Standing in front of Sam, Fred smiled down at her, the Chocolate Frogs still in his hands. “Hi, Samantha! How are you? Do you mind if I join you?” He kept his friendly smile, waiting for her answer before sitting beside her. Frederick hadn’t noticed whether anyone else was with Sam, but either way it wouldn’t be a problem, he’d quickly find a way to fit in with her friends.
