Taking a hiatus is something I would recommend too. It took me months to come back but still, it rekindled my passion for writing and role-playing in particular.
However, if you have already decided and you deem it final, then no forcing you! But I suggest you reasses what you think is the best course of action.

Deletion removes everything. And it does come with a ban, as others have said.Ekaterina Varganova wrote: 17 Dec 2025, 17:11Emily Shephard wrote: 17 Dec 2025, 17:10Remember, if you soft delete, you won't be able to come back again.Ekaterina Varganova wrote: 17 Dec 2025, 17:09Ik it is but I just feel like the site isn’t for me anymore…
I think I’ll do a soft deletion
Are you sure?ik.. but I can’t do a hard deletion though I’m not a minor
If you have RPed with anyone, choosing deletion will remove your part of those shared stories.
I'm sorry that you're feeling Hio isn't a good fit for you. I would recomnend the least permanent choices:
1. Just step away from the site. There is no rule that says you have to delete or even deactivate! Maybe in a year or two you'll want to try again! Doing this will allow you to come back without hassle.
2. Deactivate. This solution leaves your writing here intact but also removes your character from the active roster. If you ever decide to come back, you can easily reactivate! If you want to return as a different character, that option eould also be open to you.
Keep your mind in hell; and don't despair.

If you have no intention to return, then a soft deletion is probably your best bet. @Ekaterina Varganova

The absolute simplest thing to do is, whenever you're ready, is to log out of your account and then don't log in again. You'll always be welcome to come back, and this way you can!

It is wholly up to you, but like Colin said, if you think there is even the slightest chance you might return, I would recommend just deactivating. Otherwise, if you ever desire to come back, you will not be able to, as deletions come with bans. We do check for multi-accounts, so if you attempted to come back after a deletion, you would be banned again.Ekaterina Varganova wrote: 17 Dec 2025, 17:34Colin McCoire wrote: 17 Dec 2025, 17:23Deletion removes everything.
