Other than to restart with a new account (deactivation) then no... If you delete your account entirely you won't be let back in - your IP will be blocked.

What if you were to get banned? How does it work?

banning also blocks the IP {I think}

If you get banned, you're banned. You don't get let in again.

To my knowledge there's been no exceptions.

But as others have said, you can deactivate and come back at a later time.

There's no harm in taking a hiatus and coming back to your current account at a later time.

Plenty of people have done it - some deactivate and restart if they feel too disconnected after their break away from the site.

Not that I'm trying to tell you what to do, just giving you options

Sorry to butt in but the best advice I can give is talk to a staff member about your options if you're serious about it. That way you do what's best for you in the long run and in case you do decide to come back at a later time.

I logged out of my account and didn't come back for a couple years, initially I wanted to take a break and then I forgot about it.

If you don't want your IP to get banned, I would take this route, because in the future you can log back in and continue off of your account, or let your little cousin continue, or whatever

Although I believe for a deactivation you have to be on the site for 6 months.
