The game began and Ophelia watched the skies eagerly to see her team doing... absolutely nothing. Okay, maybe that wasn't fair. She'd never actually played in a real match before, so she really had no idea what the pressure was like. Maybe she wasn't the best one to judge. But, it still hurt to watch as the Slytherin team scored with little to no opposition from her Ravenclaw teammates. What was going on? Was it nerves because it was the first game of the season?

Whatever it was that was going on, Ophelia could only hope that they would all snap out of it fast, otherwise this match would be over in a pinch.

The game startled to life with a strange dullness. It appeared that Ravenclaw needed a few more warmup laps. Already up 50, Lottie felt somewhat confident about the rest of the game, though she tended to wear confidence differently than most. She paced her broom back and forth, the leather of her gloves squeaking in protest as she clutched her broom handle. The wind made it nearly impossible to hear the calls from her teammates, but the cheers from the stands were deafening. She had never gotten used to being watched.

As the game continued to progress and pick up speed, Lottie placed herself directly in front of the goals, gnawing at her lip and staring forward with a mixture of anticipation and anxiety. Old habits die hard, she supposed.

Had the whistle gone off already? Ebony was thrown into a fit of confusion; she tightened her grip on her bat in an attempt to look for her target -- panic ensued when it came to her realisation that she didn't know who that was. She looked desperately to her teammates, yet they seemed frozen in some trance as well. It seemed their moment of inaction was taken advantage of as the opposing team scored fifty points. And then it all happened so fast -- blurs of green and flashes of silver -- the clean sound of a bat hitting a bludger -- Ebony could only watch in dismay as her fellow beater toppled towards the ground.

Even from the bench it was clear: Slytherin was crushing it. Sure, Rafal being caught trying to cob one of the Ravenclaws was a shame, but none of that even mattered as it seemed like Ravenclaw had somehow forgotten to warm up beforehand. Bad move on their part. Even though it seemed unnecessary at this point, Milica still wanted to contribute to the match as much as she could. "BOOO! Take that you sleeping Raven!" she directed towards the boy who managed to evade Rafal's jabs, hopefully demotivating him.

The surprisingly unmoving opponents couldn't stop her teammates from scoring 50 points and finally taking out the annoying beater she had boo'd earlier. She was very proud of her team. Seeing her teammates kill it on the field filled her with adrenaline, and suddenly being here was not as scary anymore. Let's go team, she silently thought to herself, never losing sight of what was happening in the field. The raven-haired girl didn't expect her first Quidditch match to be so thrilling, but now, she refused to miss anything.

Playfully sticking out her tongue in response to Percival's foreboding yet amused smirk, Avis began to circle back in towards Aly to make a game plan with the rest of the team when suddenly, the starting whistle blew and Slytherin burst into action.

Shielding herself from one of the Chasers in green as she whipped past, the Ravenclaw glanced around wildly for some stability, her heart sinking as the Quaffle was sunk into one of the hoops on their end.

What in Merlin's name was going on? Eyebrows furrowed, Avis attempted to form up with the other Chasers hoping for an understanding glance from one of the two. Perhaps this was part of the plan??

"GRAB THE QUAFFLE, AVIS! MAKE 'EM FIGHT FOR IT!" came a familiar voice from the stands. It steadied her and brought everything back into focus.

The sudden burst of cheers from Slytherin's end shot through her as if someone had cast Incendio directly at her chest and with the help of her best friend's encouragement, angry fire began to sneak back in to replace the bewilderment. The birds were NOT going down without a fight.

Quinn frowned as the slytherins began to rack up points. She felt like she was not doing anything for her team! She tightened her grip on her broom as she looked for a way to score. She heard shouts of her friends from down below. The ravens had to get back in the game! Quinn focused her eyes on the quaffle and rolled back her sholders.

Ava watched as her friend seemed to stare off into space, lost in her own thoughts and too consumed to complete the round and her duties. Ava wished she could go up there and shake her friend out of it—oh wait, she had started moving again. No dead players on the field anymore. She wished she could get into the air and ram into people on her broom, even though that was a beater’s job. She was getting antsy for action.

Well crap Aston thought as he sat on the bench, how the heck is Slytherin up by 50 points already? It'll be fine, only the first game of the season, Aston had confidence that they can still turn this around. But as one of their first string beaters was knocked off his broom Aston quickly jumped up, getting ready to take his spot.
