My name is Eden Hazel Byrne. I am the third and last child of our family, and the last one to go to school at Hogwarts. My parents, Grayson and Cara, told me so many stories about this place, that it feels like I’ve already been there. My older siblings don’t talk much about it, at least not in a way I can understand. Ehan is the oldest: he is 16 years old and in 6th year in Hogwarts. Eunice is 14, studying in 4th year. Actually, we aren’t that close, so they just don’t tell me much at all. Maybe because they are so much older than me? It’s okay! Growing up, I could always count on my loving parents and on Maglee, the house-elf who works at our place. Sometimes I spend time with Seraph, my parents’ owl, but it scares me a little.

I learned the basis of different topics, such as numeracy, natural and social history so I feel ready to go to Hogwarts and I can’t wait! Mom taught us all at home. She used to be a private tutor and stopped working to raise us three. I think she will start working again once I leave for school. My dad works in a publishing agency as an editor. I think he likes what he does. He always comes home with a big smile on his face. Mom says I got mine from him. I guess I am very joyful.

Both my parents come from old-fashioned pure-blooded families. I think that’s how they connected in the first place. They both have strict parents with high expectations but they are both content with little. They just wanted a nice and peaceful life in the countryside. That’s how they ended up in Wicklow, instead of staying in Dublin with the rest of the family. Although they were sorted in the house Hufflepuff, my siblings are both in Slytherin’s house. My personality resembles more my parents’ than Ehan and Eunice, so I think I will be a Hufflepuff too. But they told me that they would love me no matter the house I am sorted in, so I’m not really worried!

My first instance of magic happened when I was 7. I wanted to play with my siblings, whom brushed me off as usual. I am quite used to it since we were never close. But somehow, I felt sad, lonely and angry. As I let my frustration explode, the glasses on the tables cracked immediately. Everyone stayed quiet for a second, and my parents came to congratulate me, and to explain what happened.
