Ophelia had always considered herself a romantic. Sometimes even a hopeless romantic, as the saying went. She'd heard it was a trait of writers and storytellers, but romanticising her life? That was something she did all the time. The reason for her sense of fashion and style, the reason why she wanted to stay up to date on things, the reason why she put her face up towards the sun whenever it shone through the clouds on a winter day. And, besides all of that, she did believe in true love. At least, partially. After reading all those stories growing up about princesses and princes, village girls and village boys, and everything in between, it was a given. And she'd seen all the happy couples at the Valentine's Day events at school and the balls and dances that were held-- true love was out there. Just like fate.

But Ophelia had also always been a sensible child. Or, that's what she told herself. She'd always believed in there being a time for everything, every stage of life. And that included the romance and true love that she believed in. Last time that she'd paused to think about it, she'd felt herself too young. But now? There were so many kids her age coupling up, finding that spark. Hey, it had even come so close to her.

Quinn-- her best friend and fellow Irishwoman-- had found someone. And now Ophelia was feeling, well, a little bit left out. Not jealous, exactly, but like this was something she was supposed to be doing too. Maybe she just hadn't found the right person yet. Maybe that was what it was.

"We could start reading over the summer maybe? We can meet up to discuss parts of the book!" That seemed like a lot of fun, and it gave them an excuse to travel around Dublin together and just hang out.

When Quinn asked her what she was doing over the summer, Ophelia remembered what they had done together last summer. "Oh! Remember summer camp? Are you going to go again this year? Maybe we should, it'll be lots of fun." And though Ophelia missed her family a lot during the school year, she had really enjoyed summer camp last year.

Quinn glanced at Ophelia and noticed her gaze a little far off, her face a little... sad maybe. Could her best friend possibly be jealous of her? It must have been something she had made up though because in an instant the look was gone replaced by ideas for the little "book club".
"Ooh- yes! I definitely want to meet up and talk about it. Then maybe we can do some shopping or just hang out after we talk about it." Quinn stated.
"Summer camp? Yeah I think so. My mum might want me to stay home but I really want to go so..." Quinn trailed off, shrugging. Summer camp was an interesting prospect she hadn't really given to much thought to. School still occupied her brain and summer hadn't really been thought about. It did sound like fun though and it wasn't too bad the year before.
"You know, i'm honestly really excited for summer because here in Hogwarts there isn't really a lot of dance classes but back in Dublin there is Irish Dance classes and my teacher said she would be happy to see me in summer session!" Quinn said, smiling. Dance hadn't really been something she had done the past year, school was too time consuming and there were not a lot of other people who knew how to Irish dance.

Ophelia grinned when shopping was mentioned. Going to Hogsmeade and breaking the rules during school had been a one-time thing, definitely, and she was not in the mood to go back there and risk getting caught. However, she still did love shopping. And going around the shops in Dublin with her best friend would be nothing if not the most fun time ever. "Shopping would be great! We could find matching outfits!" The idea thrilled her.

Quinn didn't seem the most sure about going to summer camp. Ophelia was sure she was going to go, and she wanted her best friend there with her, like last time. It's always more fun with friends. Last year, she'd taken it back, just observing the events and lounging around the summer camp with a winter theme. It had been fun, but she wanted to participate in the activities this year, and that would only happen if she had someone to do them with. "Well, I really hope you can make it!"

Then Quinn went on to talk about her plans for the summer. It was only February, but it seemed that they were both already in the summer mindset. It was hard not to be. Ophelia did love Hogwarts and her time at school, but she couldn't say that classes didn't stress her out and homework didn't get to be too much. Because it did. That's what summer was, a much needed break from all the not fun parts of school, and she could still see her friends!

"Irish dancing? That's cool. How long have you done it?"

Ophelia seemed to light up before Quinn's eyes when she mentioned shopping. Matching outfits? What a strange idea. Fun though. Quinn concluded.
"That does sound fun, maybe we can wear them to summer camp." Quinn said. She still wasn't sure if summer camp would work out but if Ophelia was going maybe she could convince her mum to let her go.
"I can't wait for school to be done! I know it's only February but all this talk about summer is making me want school to be over!" Quinn paused for a moment.
"I do love school though, which is a weird thing to say but all the classes are mostly fun. It's the homework that's hard!" Quinn said, with a little giggle. Quinn was glad to talk about irish dancing, maybe one day she could get Ophelia to learn some.
"Hmmm, I think I've been dancing since I was 6 but it might be since I was 7." Quinn thought about it for a moment.
"It's been 6 years so yeah, since I was 6." Quinn wondered if Ophelia did any muggle sports.
"Do you play any muggle sports or do you only play Quidditch?" Quinn asked. Since her dad was a muggle he had wanted her to grow up kind of like one. She had gone to muggle primary school instead of some magic one or being homeschooled.

Ophelia realised about an instant too late that not everyone would be as excited as her about the idea of a shopping spree and matching outfits. Which was a shame, but nonetheless, it was a fact of life. When Quinn responded, her voice definitely didn't hold the same enthusiasm that Ophelia's had, but she seemed to like the idea, at the least, which was enough for the Northwell.

About school letting out, Ophelia agreed one hundred percent. Sometimes, she felt like the time she spent with her family was imposter to her time at Hogwarts, like this was her normal and her home was impeding on it. It was a crazy thought, but it made the Ravenclaw worry that maybe home wouldn't feel like home soon, and she needed to get that thought out of her head as soon as possible. Because while Hogwarts was welcoming and beautiful and tons of fun, who would she be without Cecelia's love and care, Grayson's laughter, Felix's sibling rivalry, and who could forget cute, loyal Galleon?

"Oh, me too! It's like a love and hate isn't it? The homework, friends, classes, and all the fun?" She giggled a little. "And the drama too! There's always something going on."

Ophelia listened as Quinn explained her dancing history, intrigued. She'd never tried before, and that one time in first year when Topaz had tried to teach her it had gone... not so well. But either way, she'd cheer on her friend, always.

"I've never been athletic, really," Ophelia said, only a little regretful. She'd always been the sit-down bookworm, to be completely honest. "Even Quidditch, it was for the team more than the sport. But your making me wish I'd tried dance!"

Quinn was glad that Ophelia agreed with her about going home. Quinn giggled.
"Always something going on..." Quinn agreed. Ophelia seemed regretful when talking about her athleticism. Quinn wondered if Ophelia wished she had done more sports.
"You know its never to late to try something new. There is always begginer classes for dance if your ready to learn." Quinn said. Quinn looked up at the sun and was shocked to see that it was already started to go down. The little picnic had been going on for a while! Quinn wondered how much longer they should stay outside.
"It looks like the suns going down. Do you wanna start packing up our stuff?" Quinn asked. Quinn was really enjoying talking so she didn't mind if Ophelia wanted to stay out a little longer. As long as they got in before curfew things would be fine.
"Hey-as long as we are thinking about next year, I was wondering if you knew if we get to choose our own dorm rooms? If so would you want to room together?" Quinn had begun to wonder about that as the days drew on. Summer seemed so close although it was rather far away. Quinn sighed inwardly as she thought of the pile of homework she was avoiding.

Ophelia tried to imagine herself taking a beginner dance class. With her coordination and balance, she would surely have plenty of issues to overcome. But, the thought stayed in her head longer than she'd thought it would. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad, to try something new as Quinn had said. She was always learning things, reading her books and all, but it seemed she was never putting the things that she learned to use. How many times had she read stories with ballerinas as heroines?

"It's a thought," Ophelia agreed. Maybe she'd ask her mother when she went home for the summer, take some sort of summer course to see if she liked it.

When Quinn called attention to the sun going down, Ophelia noticed that she was right. The Ravenclaw girls had stayed out for quite a bit, then. "You're right. Here, let me help." She reached over and started packing the uneaten food into her satchel. She'd find a garbage bin on the way inside and dispose of it.

As they packed, the girls chatted some more. "We usually get to choose dorms, so probably. We could definitely room together, it'd be like one big sleepover." She laughed. She'd never been the sleepover type, but Hogwarts had changed that bit of her. She was much more used to other people now.

Ophelia got up, dusting off the grass from her denim pants. "Do you mind if I head back? I was planning to stop at the library for some new reading material before going up to the common room."

As long as Quinn didn't stop her, Ophelia would turn around and start making her way back to the castle.
