ELENA CLARK!

Taking a sharp inspiration, Elena carefully tilted the heavy book slightly more to the left, and aligned the raven quill with its new position. Checking the thin silver watch encircling her left wrists for the third time in less than a minute, she tried to still her breath, fighting the urge to rise and pace around the perfectly laid out blankets scattering the herb. What if no one shows up ? What if I just remain here forever, while everyone points and laugh, and- Irritatingly shutting her inner voice, the golden haired girl tilted the volume of a few more centimeters, ignoring her own inner turmoil. Your friends said they would come, she reassured herself, glaring at the non-existent crowd who kept starring with globulous eyes. She had purposely picked one of the only spots to which not many souls ventured to, despite its sheer beauty, and yet she still felt like someone was constantly watching her. (It is called social anxiety, yet the raven was deep in denial and preferred blaming an imaginary observer rather than her own brain.)

A few days prior, around the 10th of september, the second year had decided to finally fulfill one of her childhood truest desires, and host a bookclub. Being as passionate as she was for her dusty tomes, it had always felt like a natural outcome, but the introverted twelve years old was far from a charismatic leader, and preferred to linger in the shadows rather than to take the spotlight. After many motivational conversations with her mother, and something akin to blackmail from her father, she had spent the entire summer planning the deed, gathering items, doing researches and overthinking every single outcome. Though in front of the bulletin board, her knees had buckled and she had seriously thought about fleeting away, she eventually pinned a few of her posters, and had scattered the rest throughout the castle.

Whoever stepped close enough to decipher her writing could read ;

On the 20th, she had gathered her spirits and ventured in the soft grass, straight to her favourite tree. Though it was clearly visible from the castle's entrance, she still took the liberty to craft a small sign indicating the directions to follow. One who would walk the stoned path would find themselves standing in front of a fairytale. A majestuous willow tree, its branches carelessly dipping into the still water, the sun reflecting itself on the shimmering surface. In the herbs, small daisies and various flowers could be spotted, and a light breeze cooled the atmosphere. Near the base of the trunk, an impressive layout of embroidered white blankets were laid out in the grass. At the center, small baskets contained sweet and savories treats, as well as refreshments. A bigger one was overflowing with a myriad of books from different genres. A small wooden table - the ones normally used for breakfasts in bed - awaited at the edge, with on top of it an open, leather-bounded book, a black quill and a small pot of ink. A pile of the same posters as the ones used on the bulletin board awaited next to it.

If that someone were to slightly look up, they would also spot a honey haired girl leaned against the trunk, her navy blue eyes anxiously starring at you.

But have no fear, little dreamer, she is merely awaiting your presence.

xxxxxxxx𝓐 light tune whistled through the willows as Evpraksiya hummed Rachmaninoff’s Vocalise absentmindedly, the lace of her white dress just barely skimming the flowers leaning upward to face the glorious midday sun. The dress, a confection of gauzy fabric layered over soft silk, seemed almost too fine for the grass beneath it—its bodice trimmed with delicate embroidery in clean silver, the sleeves sheer and gathered neatly at her wrists with satin ribbons. A wide sash of pale green cinched her waist, its bow falling in long tails that fluttered faintly in the breeze. The ensemble, finished with a sun hat of ivory straw resting against her back on a silken cord and kid-leather slippers peeking from the hem of her dress, made her into a figure plucked from a pastoral painting.

It had been a few weeks since she’d listened to Elena speak about her ideas for the club, the meeting structure, the color schemes (if nothing else, she could certainly appreciate how thorough her friend was), and the posters that had been neatly scattered throughout the school. After all the effort the Ravenclaw had put into it, Evpraksiya decided the very least she could do was show up to support her—and if she’d invited a few more people then it was no one’s business but her own.

Finally catching sight of the other blonde, Evpraksiya approached with unhurried steps, her resplendent hair catching the breeze as she settled herself beside the Ravenclaw to place a reassuring hand on her shoulder. Elena’s anxieties were as plain to her as the daisies scattered in the grass, and though the shade of the willow’s leaves flickered across the girl’s face, Evpraksiya could see the strain in her friend’s posture, the way her fingers worried at the bark of the willow tree.

“Elena,” she said softly, her voice carrying the calm assurance of someone who had already decided there was no cause for embarrassment. “It’s lovely. You’ve thought of everything—the books, the sweets, even the quill. Anyone would be charmed to sit here.”

Or they would, if they knew what was best for them. Evpraksiya had spent the entirety of her first year building up her social networks just for them to fail her now. Dear, that would be embarrassing.

Settling her skirts neatly, she gave her friend a reassuring glance, her smile subdued but genuine. “You needn’t look at your watch so anxiously. I'm here, and others will come. And if they do not, then you and I shall have the books to ourselves—I for one, cannot imagine better company to share them with.”

In the back of her mind, Evpraksiya sighed at the idea of having to openly invite people to an event hosted by a half-blood—she’d have to explain that to Nadezhda later, but if it ended up being a success, she found no reason her sister would scold her for it.

Her hand drifted toward the overflowing basket, fingertips deftly picking up the quill. “Now,” she continued, her tone brightening with a touch of gentle curiosity, “tell me—what role do you need me to fill?”

The sound of gentle foot steps tapping against the concrete floor titles as Damien was walking towards Ravenclaw tower before stopping at the bulletin board in front of the tower as something had caught his eye. A poster was on the bulletin board announcing that a book club would be started at Hogwarts soon on the 20th of September, the book club was called The Margins Collective and was hosted by Elena Clark. As he stared at the paper he tried to think of where he remembered that name from as it felt so familiar to him like a distance memory dancing away in his mind. His eyes widen as he had finally recognized who name it was, it was the beautiful Ravenclaw girl with stormy blue eyes and hair as golden as honey. He remembered his interaction with the girl and realized he would do better to make a better impression this time. He made note of the date writing it in his notebook before head off into Ravenclaw tower.

As the days past Damien was working on a special gift to present to her as an apology as he still felt terrible about the first time they met where he yelled at her and almost hit her, just thinking about it made him embarrassed with how he acted so he figured what better way to make up for it than with a gift, but not just any gift a gift that was unique to her and capture her in all of her beauty. He worked hard making sure every detail was right like the way her honey like hair flowed down her shoulders and how her stormy blue eyes looked with a gentle smile as well as how just naturally beautiful she was.

Once he finished the painting he wrapped it up in the white sheet and tying it up with a blue ribbon before writing her name in cursive on it before slowly picking it up and heading to the meeting place for the book club. As he made his way outside he took notice of how beautiful today looked and how it would be nice scenery to paint if he had time later. But his mind would obviously change once he saw how gorgeous the area for the book club was. It was underneath this beautiful huge tree that Damien thought would make a perfect backdrop for a painting but he also noticed two figures there as well.

He recognized Elena as he could spot her and her gorgeous looks anywhere but there was also this other gorgeous girl who looked like one of them vintage porcelain dolls his mother had one time. He took a deep breath before approaching them trying to not make his painting too noticeable as he greeted the both of them. “Um…hello!” He spoke softly as he looked at the two of them feeling a tad bit nervous with the other girl here as he gave them both a small and friendly wave.

Mahlioz didn't really do clubs. There was one exception to that, the archery club, that she had joined in first year and had enjoyed enough to keep attending. But clubs weren't usually their thing. They worked much better alone, and many of the things they liked either didn't have very many other enthusiasts or began a club that only lasted a couple months. And Mahlioz didn't really have time, either, what with studying and homework and finding time to hang out with those she loved.

But a certain club had recently caught her eye. Now that the school year had started again, the bulletin board was packed with papers and notices and announcements, but one in particular stuck out to the fourth year. Of course it was the book one. As much as Mahlioz may have changed since her first year, her love of books was steadfast as ever. And this club looked... interesting. Well though-out, clearly planned, perhaps long-lasting, very aesthetic. Most of all, it looked like fun. A reprieve from the stress of daily life at Hogwarts without seeming too overstimulating.

So Mahlioz went. On the 20th of September, they found themselves out on the grounds near the lake, trying to find a certain Elena Clark they had not met yet. As they arrived close to a very regal-looking weeping willow with a few people and a blanket laid underneath it, they suspected they had found what they were looking for. She approached tentatively, with a "Hello. Are any of you named Elena Clark? I'm looking for the Margins Collective." They paused, looking over their shoulder at their bag for a moment. "I hope it's okay if I brought a book. Do you need help with anything?" She hoped she hadn't gotten here too early. Or late. Or too on time. Was that a thing? Of course she was overthinking things now. She hoped she'd made the right decision in coming.

While Graci wasn't as much of a bookworm as she was at the beginning of her first year, she was still very much a reader. Living in a bookstore would do that to you. That was part of the reason why her interest was immediately piqued, the other reason was connection. Like last year, she figured if she met more people she might make a group of friends. That was her main goal for the year.

So book club it was, new and familiar faces alike. Donning a jacket that could be necessary or completely unnecessary, a black top and a blue-gray pleated skirt she set out for book club. Over the summer she had decided to try and look slightly more presentable after seeing some of the get-ups that her peers wore. Be it an urge to fit in or an excuse to dress better than normal, she didn't know.

There was some nice weather outside, considerably pleasant compared to what it could have been. Graci didn't realize how much she had missed walking the grounds till then, a smile coming to her face for no reason other than the feeling of remembering a place you didn't remember missing.

Okay, Graci, time for book club, it's going to be wonderful and you're going to meet amazing people.

In Graci's world a little pep talk went a long way. All the way to a cute little spot under a tree near the lake, in particular. Four people were already there, distant figures becoming closer and closer the more she walked over.

I hope I'm not late, I always have no concept of time here. The lack of accessible clocks in the castle is utterly embarrassing. For my lateness, at least. With that Graci approached the quartet cautiously, waving, and hoping she wasn't interrupting a conversation with just her presence.

20/09/2025, Great Lake
The bulletin boards at Hogwarts were hardly interesting to the brunette third year. They mostly contained all sorts of advertisements students set up themselves, sparingly a few announcements from the professors, and perhaps one or two posters about upcoming events. Nonetheless, Elisa Wagner always made sure to skim through everything, in the rare case of an important notice.

A few days after the start of term, the young girl's gaze came across a poster that drew her attention. It was still one of those student-run clubs, numerous but hardly interesting enough to require a careful inspection. Elisa's thoughts wandered to her own club. She wasn't the founder - rumour was it that S.P.E.W originated from none other than the famous Hermione Granger - though of course this was still to be verified. No, Elisa had taken charge of the club back in her second year - the reason behind this act she was still unsure of. Perhaps she hadn't wanted to leave a club with such an honourable motive leaderless, or perhaps she had felt the urge to prove herself among her peers...

Regardless, the new third year's attention had been hooked by this newly formed club and for days, she couldn't keep it off her mind. Club meetings were, from her own experiences, tedious and boring - a fact that held her back from joining any of these groups. What was the point, anyway, when all Elisa seemed to be able to do was stick a placid smile on her lips and stand awkwardly in a corner? She much preferred spending her free time in the library, amidst her most trusted friends - ones who would spill all their secrets to her without a single moment of hesitation, who didn't require her to introduce herself nor talk about her life, who would accompany her wherever she went, no matter what. Books were Elisa's best friends.

Except this time, the club was precisely about books.

It was thus that Miss Wagner found herself strolling through the Hogwarts Grounds towards the Great Lake. Autumn was settling in, wrapping the world in gold, red and brown. Sunlight reflected in small specs of silver in the deep, peaceful blue of the lake.

Elisa, wearing a simple cardigan along with plain brown trousers, had brought her satchel along with its usual contents - which meant a plentiful stack of parchment, a quill, a bottle of ink, and at least two leather-bound volumes. Hair flying in the light breeze, Elisa still felt unsure of her decision to join. She hoped with all her heart that it wouldn't be required of her to talk too much. Though the young Slytherin was indeed passionate about literature and could daydream about stories for ages, she preferred to keep her thoughts to herself than share them with others. Words, in her opinion, were more beautiful written than spoken.

With slightly hesitant footsteps, Elisa approached the base of a willow tree where picnic blankets were lain and where a few students were gathered already. Her attempt to spot a few familiar faces in the little crowd was unsuccessful, and she found herself biting her lip. Elisa had half expected to spot a few peers whom she had met in the library, but thus far she recognised no one.

When she had deemed that indeed this was the gathering for the Margins Collective, she chose a spot with respectable distance to others and, both hands grasping the strap of her satchel tightly, settled her gaze keenly on a little ladybug in the grass.

Post Summary: Elisa joins the gathering.

Pam was... probably lost.

Since returning to Hogwarts twenty days ago, she felt as though she was rediscovering the castle all over again. The familiar faces and generally similar stony walls were a comfort, but the geography? Pam had definitely forgotten all of it in the two months she had been home.

She walked along the Great Lake, searching for the 'bookclub' she was, for some reason, signing up for. Pam wasn't mostly interested in clubs, but the sound of a bookclub was, quite frankly, attractive. The posters on the boards had been inviting, whoever had made them had put a whole lot of effort and thought into it, and Pam could appreciate that.

Oh, and there was an event called a themed ball.

Whatever little doubts the layout of the posters could not remove, had been handled by the idea of a 'themed ball'. Imagine if it's fantasy themed? With pirates and warriors and— okay, let's not get sidetracked. You don't even know how to dance.

A picnic.

That was the first thought that came to her mind as she took in the setting for their 'first' meeting, followed by Oh crap, people.

Somehow, Pam's brain had forgotten to register the important detail that in a bookclub meeting, more than two people would definitely be present. Sure enough, about six people were seated on the white spread-out blanket, which was dotted with pillows and a bag of books, and if Pam could ignore the panic rising in her at the thought of new people and could just focus on the scenery and the books....

And the food...

No Pam think of the people too!

The girl scanned the unknown humans sitting on the ground and thought that it couldn't be too bad. It can be very bad! What if they only read romance books?! You've never touched a romance book on your life.

"Alright that's enough." She muttered to herself, "Let's just go for it." She approached the little group with what she hoped wasn't a very nervous smile, "Um.. hello! May I..join you?"

Feel free to interact! His aversion towards it is only IC.

Archer’s presence today was a miracle in of itself. After skipping so many gatherings or being more of a wallflower than anything else last year, he had gotten used to it.

A few months ago, he would have still been lying in bed, thinking about pains that existed for now reason as the throbbing in his bruises ceased to matter. A few months ago, his world was like moving through sludge. Now he couldn’t even say stop. It was oxymoronic, almost. No, he didn’t need to find some flowery literature term as an excuse for it. It was plain unfair. Unfair, that he had the privilege to experience such confidence, such energy, such… wholeness, as if he had been seeing the world in black and white slow drama and it was suddenly turned into the colour action film. Except now… the action was still there, just not the colour.

Yet as he finally made it to where they were to gather, he squinted at the scene. Were they having a fucking picnic? Spread out, next to the Great Lake, under the willow trees, were blankets, white and pink blankets that lined enough space for every individual of the group to find a seat. Cushions, even. Other than a basket full of books, the other ones contained entirely different sorts of nourishment. Strawberries, biscuits… marshmallows. Oh lord save him, they were having a fucking picnic. Everyone else seemed fine with the notion. Pleased even. To each their own, he supposed.

As he entered the area he didn’t speak, just scanned the faces that would be his company for the next hours. The organiser of this… affair, honey blonde-haired, navy-blue eyed, anxiety radiating off her body as if she were a ghost no one taught how to belong in the human world, a dreamer who never woke up from her sleepwalks; Archer allowed his eyes to trail over her for brief moments. The virtuoso, her bob a lighter flaxen than the girl before hers, masterful at the piano and apparently now a reader as well, Archer certainly did not doubt her literary skills after having read her articles. Merely an ensemble member of Polytropos’ winding Odyssey was a dark-haired boy, nervous, as always, but Archer did not smirk at his behaviour. The rest? The rest he blissfully could claim as strangers. But everyone, even Elena, looked more alive than Archer did.

He felt like an animated, possessed, undead corpse. Like his body could move, waking up at treacherous hours of the night; like his mind still spun, thoughts cutting into each other as they raced; like he was so irritable he was scared to exert himself into the group, because he would undoubtedly mess everything up if someone only looked at him the way he didn’t like. Just how things had went down with that boy in the library. Pushing his hair back with slender fingers he shook his head slowly and forced himself to focus. He was already here, better try to make something of it at least. Sitting down with his back on the willow tree, its lithe, playful branches flitting into his eyes before laughing in the chimes of the wind, his fingers tapped restlessly on his knee and he stared ahead, distanced from the rest of the group, existing on a different dimension altogether.

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Staring into the void was probably not the best way to appear welcoming. Then again, neither was glaring at the castle's archway. Or doing nothing. AH. Why on earth did I think this would be a good idea again? The raven was halfway between the dreadful thought that no one would show up and she'd sit here like the foolish girl she was, and the dreadful thought that people would indeed show up and she'd have to actually talk to them, and smile, and lead a godforsaken club meeting. Inwardly praying one of her friends, or at the very least an acquaintance, would have the good idea to arrive early, her fingers were frantically scratching her inner forearm in an attempt to soothe herself. Lost in thought, she stifled a breath when navy eyes spotted a figure looming behind the arch. Heavens. Please don't be a stranger, please don't be a stranger—

A breath she immediately released when ivory-blonde hair peeked out, Sacramento eyes finding her own in seconds. As if her presence had an innate impact on her, Elena's shoulders let go of the tension that had inhabited them a few seconds prior, and her fingers relaxed, raising in the air instead to wave at the newcomer. Relief wasn't a strong enough word—she felt an overwhelming urge to hug her until every last thread of air escaped their lungs. Evpraksiya, undoubtedly aware of the tension engulfing her, settled by her side and placed a delicate hand on her shoulder, a soothing gesture that only slowed further the frantic beating of her heart. Squeezing it in return, Elena gave her friend a grateful smile, focusing solely on breathing in and out while the doll by her side spoke comforting words. Whatever awaited, she knew she could face it if Evpraksiya stood by her side.

A chuckle escaped her, and she leaned into her friend's embrace, resting her head on Ev's shoulder for a second—a soft nudge, akin to that of a cat. "I can only agree," she nodded, plucking a stray thread from her chocolate-brown sweater. "Thank you," she added after a second, sincerity permeating every inflection of her voice, "your presence means a lot to me." Few knew how to appease her the way she could—it was almost uncanny how keenly aware of Elena's every thought she was. A light laugh rose as she bent to snatch the quill away from her friend's grasp before setting it neatly back down. "None, is your answer. You are to simply rest and enjoy." She patted her friend's arm the way one would with a puppy, but before she could continue, she sensed a presence approach, making her heart rate quicken again.

Smoothing down her pleated skirt, she took a breath and flashed what she hoped was a welcoming smile at the looming shadow. Messy brown hair, a slightly awkward posture, and deep blue eyes—a familiar sight, which took her a few seconds to place. "Damien," she waved back, gesturing for him to sit down. "I'm most pleased to see you again! How have you been since we last talked?" Taking note of the strange object he dragged behind him yet restraining herself from inquiring about it, she looked up as another figure approached.

Short hair, brown skin, emerald eyes—the warmth of a sunlight-bathed forest and the gentle waves of a lake. A freckled girl was standing before them, lips curved in a friendly smile as she started talking. It took Elena a few seconds to process, as she was still lost in the bliss—someone I don't know just came to my club!!! Me!! My club!! And I don't know them!!!—of learning her ideas were actually heard and appreciated, and some unknown students had answered her call. "I am, and it is," she responded, beaming, "I am delighted to meet you, thank you for coming." Gesturing for her to take a place, she nodded, "Absolutely! It is a book club after all. And thank you for asking, but just settle and enjoy! I am still waiting for the rest to arrive before I really dive into the matter. May I ask your name?"

Spotting another person arriving behind, she squinted slightly, trying to make out their shape in the sun’s brilliance. Long brown hair, with two white strands that framed striking hazel eyes—the stranger evoked slow mornings, warm tea, and rose petals to the raven. Lingering on the side, she seemed too shy to walk in, which the honey-haired could perfectly understand. Waving back at her, Elena flashed a serene smile and called out, "Hi there! I am Elena, are you here for the club? Please, settle in, there's plenty of space."

Before she could inquire her name, yet another girl with brown waves and hazel eyes appeared. Quiet and subtle, her soft features reminded her of water lilies in full bloom gently floating away, or those morning dew pearls of silver water. Settling quietly at the edge of the blanket, she caused a slight frown to crease the smooth forehead of the raven, worried she might feel set aside. "Hi," she reached out, waving gently. "Thank you for coming, could I ask your name? I'm Elena. Nice to meet you."

Feeling beyond content to see even more people arriving, she tilted her head up to face a cascade of silver-blonde hair framing two electric blue eyes—lilac butterflies and polaroid cameras, with a dazzle of… raspberry? Noting her interest in the baked goods nestled at the center of the layer of blankets, Elena returned her smile, gesturing for her to come closer. "Hello! Of course, take any spot you'd like. I'm Elena, and you are...?"

The next person arrived so silently the raven barely noticed it. He was sitting fairly close to her own spot, yet seemed to have chosen it precisely for its distance from the rest. The golden and olive hues of his eyes were darkened by the blatant disinterest in existing he wore, absentmindedly running his slender fingers through the remarkably long brown waves framing his face. He seemed akin to a tortured poet—late-night walks, a crow taking flight, and ink dripping down a thought-filled journal—and Elena was hesitating to reach out. "Hi," she smiled, speaking softly. "My name is Elena, glad you could make it."

The blonde was feeling slightly overwhelmed by the little crowd that had begun to form, and questioned whether or not she should start right away. Would it be pretentious to wait a little more, should more readers arrive? Glancing at Evpraksiya, she tilted her head slightly. "Do you reckon I should begin?" she whispered in a low tone, glancing at the arch to try and see if more people were coming through.

Ophelia, antisocial as she was, had somehow made her way into a couple of literature centered clubs and student led organisations during her time at Hogwarts so far. A coincidence? Definitely not. The girl had been careful about the announcements on the bulletin board that she'd paid attention to, making sure to spend her time wisely on activities that were of interest to her, and anyone could tell that the young Northwell was nothing if not an avid reader and focused writer. She'd been telling and hearing stories since she'd been but a little girl toddling around in her family's Dublin home, and those habits she carried with her still.

But eventually, whether it was Ophelia's own interest in the club fading over time, or the organisers realising that they had much else to do rather than to plan and keep up with meetings, most clubs had faded from the Ravenclaw girl's life. She'd been weary of joining more since her first year, afraid that they would all disappear. But something about this particular organisation had caught the girl's eye from early on. The organiser was a Ravenclaw herself, for one thing. Her house, Ophelia had come to learn in the three years that she'd spent here, was reliable, familiar. They were her people, and she could count on them. Beyond that, it seemed quite well organised, and seeing all the posters around the school had made her curious of the happenings, if nothing else.

So here the girl was, making her way to the informational meeting located at the Great Lake. She'd dressed nicely, wanting to make a good impression on whoever all it was that she was about to meet. A grey knit sweater and one of the nicest pairs of denim pants that she owned. The walk over to the lake was spent in the usual distress that Ophelia experienced before doing something that wasn't approved of by her social anxiety. The spiraling questions, the slight hesitation in her step. But she made it, finding that the meeting spot described had been set up quite nicely as a little picnic, complete with sweet treats and, of course, reading material! There seemed to be a few people already present, and Ophelia began to worry whether she was late. She hoped not, arriving late would not be a good impression for the first meeting.

Ophelia approached hesitantly, ready to run back to the castle at any moment. But once she was far enough, she knew she couldn't head back anymore. Surely someone must've sighted her approach by now. The Ravenclaw made a quick assessment of everyone present. She recognised some, others she only knew the name of, and a few, she couldn't even place at all. Deciding that she'd play it safe for now, Ophelia smiled at one of her summer camp tentmates, Elisa. She took a spot next to the girl in question, and then tried to pay attention to what was going on.

Had the meeting begun already, or were they still doing introductions?
