The sound of gentle foot steps tapping against the concrete floor titles as Damien was walking towards Ravenclaw tower before stopping at the bulletin board in front of the tower as something had caught his eye. A poster was on the bulletin board announcing that a book club would be started at Hogwarts soon on the 20th of September, the book club was called The Margins Collective and was hosted by Elena Clark. As he stared at the paper he tried to think of where he remembered that name from as it felt so familiar to him like a distance memory dancing away in his mind. His eyes widen as he had finally recognized who name it was, it was the beautiful Ravenclaw girl with stormy blue eyes and hair as golden as honey. He remembered his interaction with the girl and realized he would do better to make a better impression this time. He made note of the date writing it in his notebook before head off into Ravenclaw tower. As the days past Damien was working on a special gift to present to her as an apology as he still felt terrible about the first time they met where he yelled at her and almost hit her, just thinking about it made him embarrassed with how he acted so he figured what better way to make up for it than with a gift, but not just any gift a gift that was unique to her and capture her in all of her beauty. He worked hard making sure every detail was right like the way her honey like hair flowed down her shoulders and how her stormy blue eyes looked with a gentle smile as well as how just naturally beautiful she was. Once he finished the painting he wrapped it up in the white sheet and tying it up with a blue ribbon before writing her name in cursive on it before slowly picking it up and heading to the meeting place for the book club. As he made his way outside he took notice of how beautiful today looked and how it would be nice scenery to paint if he had time later. But his mind would obviously change once he saw how gorgeous the area for the book club was. It was underneath this beautiful huge tree that Damien thought would make a perfect backdrop for a painting but he also noticed two figures there as well. He recognized Elena as he could spot her and her gorgeous looks anywhere but there was also this other gorgeous girl who looked like one of them vintage porcelain dolls his mother had one time. He took a deep breath before approaching them trying to not make his painting too noticeable as he greeted the both of them. “Um…hello!” He spoke softly as he looked at the two of them feeling a tad bit nervous with the other girl here as he gave them both a small and friendly wave. |

| ── | While Graci wasn't as much of a bookworm as she was at the beginning of her first year, she was still very much a reader. Living in a bookstore would do that to you. That was part of the reason why her interest was immediately piqued, the other reason was connection. Like last year, she figured if she met more people she might make a group of friends. That was her main goal for the year. So book club it was, new and familiar faces alike. Donning a jacket that could be necessary or completely unnecessary, a black top and a blue-gray pleated skirt she set out for book club. Over the summer she had decided to try and look slightly more presentable after seeing some of the get-ups that her peers wore. Be it an urge to fit in or an excuse to dress better than normal, she didn't know. There was some nice weather outside, considerably pleasant compared to what it could have been. Graci didn't realize how much she had missed walking the grounds till then, a smile coming to her face for no reason other than the feeling of remembering a place you didn't remember missing. Okay, Graci, time for book club, it's going to be wonderful and you're going to meet amazing people. In Graci's world a little pep talk went a long way. All the way to a cute little spot under a tree near the lake, in particular. Four people were already there, distant figures becoming closer and closer the more she walked over. I hope I'm not late, I always have no concept of time here. The lack of accessible clocks in the castle is utterly embarrassing. For my lateness, at least. With that Graci approached the quartet cautiously, waving, and hoping she wasn't interrupting a conversation with just her presence. | xxx | ![]() |

20/09/2025, Great LakeThe bulletin boards at Hogwarts were hardly interesting to the brunette third year. They mostly contained all sorts of advertisements students set up themselves, sparingly a few announcements from the professors, and perhaps one or two posters about upcoming events. Nonetheless, Elisa Wagner always made sure to skim through everything, in the rare case of an important notice.
A few days after the start of term, the young girl's gaze came across a poster that drew her attention. It was still one of those student-run clubs, numerous but hardly interesting enough to require a careful inspection. Elisa's thoughts wandered to her own club. She wasn't the founder - rumour was it that S.P.E.W originated from none other than the famous Hermione Granger - though of course this was still to be verified. No, Elisa had taken charge of the club back in her second year - the reason behind this act she was still unsure of. Perhaps she hadn't wanted to leave a club with such an honourable motive leaderless, or perhaps she had felt the urge to prove herself among her peers...
Regardless, the new third year's attention had been hooked by this newly formed club and for days, she couldn't keep it off her mind. Club meetings were, from her own experiences, tedious and boring - a fact that held her back from joining any of these groups. What was the point, anyway, when all Elisa seemed to be able to do was stick a placid smile on her lips and stand awkwardly in a corner? She much preferred spending her free time in the library, amidst her most trusted friends - ones who would spill all their secrets to her without a single moment of hesitation, who didn't require her to introduce herself nor talk about her life, who would accompany her wherever she went, no matter what. Books were Elisa's best friends.
Except this time, the club was precisely about books.
It was thus that Miss Wagner found herself strolling through the Hogwarts Grounds towards the Great Lake. Autumn was settling in, wrapping the world in gold, red and brown. Sunlight reflected in small specs of silver in the deep, peaceful blue of the lake.
Elisa, wearing a simple cardigan along with plain brown trousers, had brought her satchel along with its usual contents - which meant a plentiful stack of parchment, a quill, a bottle of ink, and at least two leather-bound volumes. Hair flying in the light breeze, Elisa still felt unsure of her decision to join. She hoped with all her heart that it wouldn't be required of her to talk too much. Though the young Slytherin was indeed passionate about literature and could daydream about stories for ages, she preferred to keep her thoughts to herself than share them with others. Words, in her opinion, were more beautiful written than spoken.
With slightly hesitant footsteps, Elisa approached the base of a willow tree where picnic blankets were lain and where a few students were gathered already. Her attempt to spot a few familiar faces in the little crowd was unsuccessful, and she found herself biting her lip. Elisa had half expected to spot a few peers whom she had met in the library, but thus far she recognised no one.
When she had deemed that indeed this was the gathering for the Margins Collective, she chose a spot with respectable distance to others and, both hands grasping the strap of her satchel tightly, settled her gaze keenly on a little ladybug in the grass.

Post Summary: Elisa joins the gathering.

THE MARGIN'S COLLECTIVE
1st September, 2025 Speech -- Thoughts Hogwarts Express
═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
Pam was... probably lost.
Since returning to Hogwarts twenty days ago, she felt as though she was rediscovering the castle all over again. The familiar faces and generally similar stony walls were a comfort, but the geography? Pam had definitely forgotten all of it in the two months she had been home.
She walked along the Great Lake, searching for the 'bookclub' she was, for some reason, signing up for. Pam wasn't mostly interested in clubs, but the sound of a bookclub was, quite frankly, attractive. The posters on the boards had been inviting, whoever had made them had put a whole lot of effort and thought into it, and Pam could appreciate that.
Oh, and there was an event called a themed ball.
Whatever little doubts the layout of the posters could not remove, had been handled by the idea of a 'themed ball'. Imagine if it's fantasy themed? With pirates and warriors and— okay, let's not get sidetracked. You don't even know how to dance.
A picnic.
That was the first thought that came to her mind as she took in the setting for their 'first' meeting, followed by Oh crap, people.
Somehow, Pam's brain had forgotten to register the important detail that in a bookclub meeting, more than two people would definitely be present. Sure enough, about six people were seated on the white spread-out blanket, which was dotted with pillows and a bag of books, and if Pam could ignore the panic rising in her at the thought of new people and could just focus on the scenery and the books....
And the food...
No Pam think of the people too!
The girl scanned the unknown humans sitting on the ground and thought that it couldn't be too bad. It can be very bad! What if they only read romance books?! You've never touched a romance book on your life.
"Alright that's enough." She muttered to herself, "Let's just go for it." She approached the little group with what she hoped wasn't a very nervous smile, "Um.. hello! May I..join you?"

The Margins Collective — Prologue
20/09/2025 | under the willows, Great Lake

Feel free to interact! His aversion towards it is only IC.
Archer’s presence today was a miracle in of itself. After skipping so many gatherings or being more of a wallflower than anything else last year, he had gotten used to it.
A few months ago, he would have still been lying in bed, thinking about pains that existed for now reason as the throbbing in his bruises ceased to matter. A few months ago, his world was like moving through sludge. Now he couldn’t even say stop. It was oxymoronic, almost. No, he didn’t need to find some flowery literature term as an excuse for it. It was plain unfair. Unfair, that he had the privilege to experience such confidence, such energy, such… wholeness, as if he had been seeing the world in black and white slow drama and it was suddenly turned into the colour action film. Except now… the action was still there, just not the colour.
Yet as he finally made it to where they were to gather, he squinted at the scene. Were they having a fucking picnic? Spread out, next to the Great Lake, under the willow trees, were blankets, white and pink blankets that lined enough space for every individual of the group to find a seat. Cushions, even. Other than a basket full of books, the other ones contained entirely different sorts of nourishment. Strawberries, biscuits… marshmallows. Oh lord save him, they were having a fucking picnic. Everyone else seemed fine with the notion. Pleased even. To each their own, he supposed.
As he entered the area he didn’t speak, just scanned the faces that would be his company for the next hours. The organiser of this… affair, honey blonde-haired, navy-blue eyed, anxiety radiating off her body as if she were a ghost no one taught how to belong in the human world, a dreamer who never woke up from her sleepwalks; Archer allowed his eyes to trail over her for brief moments. The virtuoso, her bob a lighter flaxen than the girl before hers, masterful at the piano and apparently now a reader as well, Archer certainly did not doubt her literary skills after having read her articles. Merely an ensemble member of Polytropos’ winding Odyssey was a dark-haired boy, nervous, as always, but Archer did not smirk at his behaviour. The rest? The rest he blissfully could claim as strangers. But everyone, even Elena, looked more alive than Archer did.
He felt like an animated, possessed, undead corpse. Like his body could move, waking up at treacherous hours of the night; like his mind still spun, thoughts cutting into each other as they raced; like he was so irritable he was scared to exert himself into the group, because he would undoubtedly mess everything up if someone only looked at him the way he didn’t like. Just how things had went down with that boy in the library. Pushing his hair back with slender fingers he shook his head slowly and forced himself to focus. He was already here, better try to make something of it at least. Sitting down with his back on the willow tree, its lithe, playful branches flitting into his eyes before laughing in the chimes of the wind, his fingers tapped restlessly on his knee and he stared ahead, distanced from the rest of the group, existing on a different dimension altogether.
