Quidditch Ravenclaw vs Hufflepuff - Spring 2025

Winnie cursed under her breath after she dived to try and save Jorah from falling to a painful hospital wing visit, but unfortunately she was unable to reach him in time as she watched from afar. She had never missed saving someone before and now there was a pit settling in the bottom of her stomach.

Once Jess had returned Atlas to her broom, she thought it safe to stick around - it's pretty clear that Atlas has a target on her back, so I reckon it wouldn't hurt anyone if I made sure she was okay. Besides, the Quaffle was being more than dealt with.

And just as well, because, yet again, Jess witnessed Atlas tumble off her broom. They really have it out for her, don't they?! Jess didn't even see what had caused this recent fall, but she knew what she had to do. Accustomed to her task by now, she swooped underneath and caught Atlas as gracefully as possible.

It was quite hard for Daphne to be discouraged but the booing did make her pout, an annoyed look growing on her face. She was quite distracted by it, and nearly ended up being knocked off her broom as a result but by some stroke of luck she still held on. She kept looking around for the snitch, even know Ravenclaw was in the lead she could try to win this by finding the snitch.

Abilities: Alluring: A Part-Veela is incredibly beautiful, the magic creates an "entranced" effect, wherein those that would be an attraction where they lose sight of their surroundings and focus more than necessary on the Part-Veela's movements or appearance. Viewers are also prone to experiencing thoughts of a strong desire to impress or be with the Part-Veela in question, some are strongly attracted romantically.

Prodigal DADA Learner: Able to learn Defense Against the Dark Arts 1 year ahead of their actual school year. You may only choose a spell taught in DADA classes. Scream: The scream can be disorienting (-1 accuracy and -1 evasion), requiring a full action to perform but does not require a wand. This can stack indefinitely and persist until the end of the encounter. This scream can target a single user or it can target up to five users (as an AOE attack). Alternatively, this spell can be used to temporarily deafen an opponent. So rather than cause the player to become disoriented, they would become deafened (unable to hear) for the next 5 rounds.

The key to scoring with the quaffle was to have a lot of practice grabbing it quickly. Lavinia was quite fast at grabbing the quaffle and had trained the skill for seven years. After her small break to perform a blatch, Lavinia went back to the quaffle grabs! She only had the hufflepuff seeker for competition and unfortunately for Daphne she swiped the quaffle all five times. Lavinia was so excited to have a match where she got to showcase all her quaffle skills and not get immediately knocked off her broom.

After sending the quaffle through the hoops five more times, Lavinia smiled at the commentary and cheers. This was her final Hogwarts quidditch match and she was proving all of her skills. Watching Jorah fall off his broom was a tough sight to swallow as Lavinia knew they lost a game changer. Shaking off the loss and sending her teammate new looks of plays, Lavinia focused on what she could do to help bring the win.

Avis offered a few encouraging claps and some well wishing phrases as she cheered her teammates onward. But moments later her voice faltered. Suddenly she felt as though she were the only one cheering and she glanced around at her teammates to confirm. Everything seemed to be going as planned but she couldn’t shake the eery feeling that something was going to go wrong and her cheers quieted.

Debuff Fouls

In catching sight of the snitch nearly immediately, Daphne had certainly made a target out of herself. Charlie sped after her, elbows out, and in a flurry of distraction, Daphne was certainly worse for wear.

'Whoa, that's a cob by Jacobsen! Kids these days... That'll be a penalty lap!'

The Bench

All while warming the bench, the teams' beloved second strings had some strategic input of their own. Very specifically, Ravenclaw's youths seemed to be manifesting the bad juju in the form of booing Hufflepuff's players. Hufflepuff, in contrast, seemed to take a more positive approach to combat the bad vibes, opting to cheer on their teammates.

Sage and Daphne would most certainly hear Andy's and Ophelia's boos. Atlas and Jess, though, would have no problem hearing Landon, Callum and Mamori cheer loud and clear.

The Quaffle

The Quaffle, often lonely, would be rather loved this game, even if it was mostly by Lavinia.

'Ooooh, what's that from Karageorgiadi? A shimmy? A Wollongong Shimmy, rather well-executed? And, oh what's that? Cloven seems to power through despite the distraction, that's ten, twenty, thirty, forty, and... OH, HEY, REID'S GOT THE QUAFFLE! SHE SHOOTS! SHE SCORES!'

The scoreboard would ding incessantly, prompting loud swaths of applause from the spectators.

The Snitch

Many people loved the Snitch; many people ignored it. Many people did not want others to have it.

Unbeknownst to the rather oblivious referee, Jess flew close — too close — to Aly. Who knew what the Ravenclaw Seeker was off doing, but it certainly had nothing to do with the Snitch. Nonetheless, she definitely wasn't getting any closer.

'Salinger, why are you leaving Sapphirus all by herself? Seeker solidarity? No? Okay, well, then...'

Sage, using most of her strength, had flown over to Daphne and taken hold of the young Seeker's broom. Looping her around once, then twice, she shot the girl in the direction of what had to be the Snitch. 'And an alley-oop from Willows! Very nice, very nice, is that it? Is the game over?'

'...It is not. Nice try, Sapphirus. Better luck next time.'

The Big, Bad Beaters

The loud crack of Aston's bat smacking a bludger right at poor Daphne ricocheted (ha-ha) around the pitch. A few spectators winced.

'Ouch, what a hard hit right at Sapphirus! She holds on, but barely! Sapphirus, hang in there!'

Meanwhile, a bludger zoomed around the pitch and zeroed in on Atlas.

'Again? Reid, are you wearing magnets or something?'

Nonetheless, Reid had no issue evading. The Keeper had to be hanging on by a thread, but by Merlin, it was a strong one.



Turns out, unbeknownst to the referee, Aly Salinger was a dirty, dirty cheater. However, she was a dirty, dirty cheater who was majorly creeped out by her team's Keeper. The bad juju, the icky vibes, the feeling of fear washed over her once again, having become something of a routine occurrence, and no matter what she was trying to do, she faltered.

Any evidence of a foul went unnoticed.

'Come on, Salinger, get your head in the game. The hell are you doing?'

Fresh out of her penalty lap, Eugenia would try something new. A shimmy, it was supposed to distract. But the elder chaser, even though distracted, still scored. Atlas, on the other hand, scored once. But still, they were seriously behind on points. Eugenia glanced around. Snitch: not caught. And now, it seemed like everything was slowly coming to a close, especially after Daphne’s great attempt.

Camilla couldn't help but wince as another bludger went and connected with Atlas. Yeowch!

Even as Camilla gripped her broom to zoom towards her upperclassman, it appeared that their Keeper was still on her broom. Somehow.

"Hang in there, Reid" She yelled out to her teammate, @Atlas Reid. "We're almost through to the finish line!"

Coming back down from the adrenaline rush of that beaters duel only meant facing the grim reality that this scoreboard had become unwatchable. To avoid nightmares tonight, Mamori's brilliant strategy involved looking literally anywhere except the goal posts whenever that annoyingly talented woman touched the quaffle. Turns out this was very ineffective since the scoreboard kept blaring loudly enough to pierce through covered ears and Koko provided running commentary for every goal. If there was a way to temporarily disable two of his five senses, he'd take it right now. What did catch his attention though was Jess getting up close and personal with the opposing seeker. Oh, was this what he thought it was? Indeed it was. After cheering for what looked promising, Mamori watched Jess execute a textbook foul that somehow flew under Koko's radar. Now that was some next-level referee dodging worth taking mental notes on, he was definitely adding that to tomorrow's training routine so he could pull off the same act if he ever got his shot on the pitch.

Yes! To be perfectly honest Aston felt nothing but joy at the sight of the older girl getting hit by the bludger, though it was a pity that it didn't knock her off the broom completely. He'll have to try harder next time. It was what quidditch was like after all, not to mention the feeling he gets hearing the sound of the bat against bludger. It was a wonderful thing.
