UNICORN! Big. Beautiful. Unicorn!

I saw one in the forest! I went out like I said I would! I went to the most dangerous part and I found a unicorn! Of all things!

You should've seen it... It was so gentle and fluffy... And I got to PET it!

For the first time I feel like I've truly connected with an animal on more than just a level of a human getting in contact with another creature. This felt more like the blurring of the line dividing magical creatures and humans to the point where two beings can come together as one!

I swear I'll never forget that night for as long as I live.

I did get a bit banged up. That's why I haven't been in contact so much. I've been trying to heal my bruises before anyone got suspicious. Luckily they're mostly gone now. A few left over and a couple of scratches still here and there, but nothing like what they used to be the night I returned from the forest.

Oh yeah! I've also sent you something you'll definitely want to see! I found it in the forest. Another part of it, I mean. I can't read what's inside it because it's worn down so much, but once you take a look, you'll agree with me that it contains a very familiar looking logo on it.

That should keep you busy while you're over there. Let me know what you find.

So... You found a unicorn huh? >:P

Sorry it's been a while. With everyone having been struggling to get back to life after last month's debacle, the school has been taking its time trying to move forward. We had a ceremony to honour the students we lost when we were cutting through Hogsmeade which hovered over everyone's head for a while afterwards. It's only now that people are starting to feel like they can move on. I guess that energy rubbed off on me and I lost the will to reply for a bit.

I'm just relieved you're safe and sound. From what you've told me in the past, a unicorn is the luckiest dip you could get in that draw. Better than anything with fangs or venom anyway. Before you decide to go another round trip, take a breather. A unicorn is one thing but anything that can and will be lethal towards you is another. If I were you, I'd wait a while before you head back out there again.

Well spotted with that journal you found. You were right. It came from the Dalnuis Reserve. Now I have all the backing I need to make Grice talk - that's the guy that's been ghosting me. What you found belongs to someone whose body was never found after the incident. Like the other victims, he was a member of the Oregon reserve group.

But now I'm starting to think he might just be alive after all. And if he is, then Nick has to be too.

Now that I have this, I plan on paying Grice a visit over the holidays. I know where to find him to do this in person, since he's not responding to any of my letters. I might go silent for a while, just until I get on top of that.

This is probably going to be one of the last few letters I'll be sending you. Let's give each other a break since the holidays are fast approaching. We can reconvene in the New Year. Hopefully by then, both of us will have reaped some success for our goals.

I got your letter. I'm thrilled to hear that the lady who contacted you was able to give you some help. It sounded like the trail was getting cold before she came along.

I see... So you suspect your brother is hiding out in the location that she gave you? Funny... I would've suspected he would remain in the mountain range where he was last seen, assuming he sustained any injuries akin to the deceased. There's no way anyone with those wounds would've been able to make it five steps, let alone more than five miles.

Still, I'll trust your judgement. And it sounded like, from your letter at least, she knew what she was doing. She appears to have done a fair bit of research herself.

As always, leave it to me. Geography isn't my strong suit but if you give me the series of locations; where he's been and where he's rumoured to have been sighted (if at all), then maybe I can start drafting a rough trail for you while taking everything we've learnt so far into account. I know you're already on the ball with that, but still... There's no harm having a second opinion :3
